This is what is wrong with “insta” add ons. They aren’t rare at all. We should be seeing these ultra rare every once in a blue moon to make them feel somewhat rare.
-
The idea behind the broken status is to “force” a survivor to have to cleanse to allow a full health state.
Believe it or not 1 person can cleanse and throw the whole game by making it snowball. On the flip side though one person cleansing may have saved the whole team.
I main Plague and it is weird when it happens. Cleansing takes coordination more than most think.
-
2 Things.
Anyone has the ability to be toxic not just survivors. If you play survivor enough you’ll notice killers can also be toxic. You might notice it more if you only play killer because obviously you never see other killers but you also see 4 survivors at a time.
Two. A lot of times it is best to just hit the continue button because they may have had a very bad match previous to yours where they were also told “gg ez” after being face camped. Not that this excuses the behavior but people will take it out on a different party for some reason.
-
Nah, I'll risk No Ed.
I like spicy matches anyway. 😈

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
good joke.

You blame people for taking the game "so serious" but you log into the forums to create a thread about it?
Sounds to me you should follow your own advice.
-
None. They are all killer-sided.

Not like you’ll see spine chill often, I’m the main survivor I see using it.
@GrootDude I see it a lot on Claudettes lol

It'll make spine chill work in tier 1.
@S_Panda Ugh. There goes my fun of grabbing people off gens in the beginning of matches.
So how does undetectable work for him? Only while he is stalking?
-
Wait how is undetectable going to nerf Myers?
This better not mess him up!
-
I think that being scared can only go so far if you keep playing over and over.
What I do think they need to change is the atmosphere a bit in maps.
Something I absolutely love about Hawkings Lab is the amount of environmental sound effects throughout it... (doors trying to close, rat inside the cage, the room with the portal) It gives it that eerie feel that I think just seals the deal.
I hope that more maps will eventually get the same treatment.
-
Being slugged is not even that optimal tbh.
Someone could easily come back and heal you to FULL health... You keep DS for another round and the killer didn’t get another hook out of you. All which already beats getting to use it just to go down and hooked again.
DS is fine as it is.
-
I feel like when you have to go this far to try to even get one juke in, we’re in trouble.
I’m not saying she should be nerfed, but most people will almost never find versing her as a “fun time”.
She is a breeze to play as because what is suppose to be her weakness (not being able to physically see a survivor) has 0 value when your hearing is enhanced to the point that you can back rub against a survivor and just swing your sword.

I dont want to have to run perks to make the game playable, the people that use no ruin also tend to play top tiers
@xRem Thr game is still playable without those perks. It may not be at the speed that you’d like but it is still playable.
As Plague I don’t even need Ruin, I can just stack Thana and Dying Light as her and do just fine.

I shouldn't have to use perks to fix broken gen speed #1 and number 2 your also forgetting to account for toolboxes and great skill checks, sure if I have 3 people slugged its going to be slow but the thing is that smart swfs split pressure so that I can't do that.
@xrem so if you don’t want perks to help with gen regression what do you expect perks to do? Help you chase and hook someone faster?
Some killers don’t even bring Ruin or Pop what does that say about them? They’re just lucky I guess?

It takes me 12-11 hooks to "win", each survivor can be left on hook for 45-50 seconds before it counts as 2. Gens bass take 80 seconds with no greats, if I get 6 hooks in 3 minutes I'm only half way done you could be almost 80 percent out if your being efficient, if that isn't broken than idk what it.
@xRem All those killers who bring Ruin, PGTW, Thana,Dying Light say hi 👋.
You can’t base numbers purely on what’s written on paper. You have to take into consideration how many times you kicked that gen, how many times you slugged, how many times you regressed that gen, while also using other tools to accomplish a down and a hook.
You have to factor in Perks, Add Ons, killer skill level, before you can say gens speeds are broken.

I'm good with them till I reach red ranks. Then Rin does the hard job of fighting those toxic, unbalanced and genrushing SWF teams
And I think the "successful" killers you saw, were versing red rank potatoes or solos.
There is no way you can beat a good SWF team with a loopable killer
@Rin_is_my_waifu No they weren’t SWF... and I was solo.
It was a close call , but in the end one mistake can end up costing you the game on either side.
I don’t understand this notion that just because a group is SWF they are automatically “toxic” or “unbeatable”. Maybe that is the real problem is that you believe that so therefore your mind is made up that you’re always going to lose unless you bring Spirit which in reality isn’t the case.
-
It’s not that difficult to understand when you know that running away from something bad trying to kill you is a big part of a horror film.
-
@Rin_is_my_waifu said:
Believe it or not, the only answer to gen rush is spirit. Just learn how to play her and you'll be destroying every SWF team. Trust me I'm a spirit main.
You must just be really bad with other killers then because I have seen successful killers other than Spirit doing quite well in red ranks.

“Broken gen speed” lmao

Danny isn't any of the GhostFace's from Scream. He's an original character from BHVR. Like how in every Scream it's a different person as GhostFace, DBD's GhostFace is unique to DBD.
Danny is a photo journalist (think Peter Parker) the stalking thing makes sense with Danny.
@Theoretical_Heart Yes but his lore isn't enough (IMO) and I was more speaking in terms mechanics that could be used creatively.
The Ghostface from the movies would be undeniably more astute. He would use his environment to his advantage. I just think he needs something else and drawing from elements from the movies would be ideal given that most people that bought him are more than likely fans.
-
Ghostface is good, just wish there was more of a fun/playful aspect to him... stalking with how inconsistent it is, can get pretty boring. Most of the time you'll be doing more chasing than actual stalking. Unless you get a good map.
Two things that I think are missing, would be, the ability to get in a locker. Think the same combo as (QnQ + Head on) for chases I think something like this could be fun. Or the ability to stalk while inside a locker for those survivors who are very good at looping and you just needed that little bit of stalk.
The other thing that I think could make him more fun is the addition of cellphones/walkie talkies. Haven't really thought about how this one could be incorporated, but this would definitely seal the deal when it comes to the Ghostface we know and love from the movies. Maybe this one could tie into gen pressuring because you spend a lot of time trying to get someone exposed that you sacrifice time to pressure generators.
Just some suggestions. I am not a Ghostface main, but I am a hardcore SCREAM fan, and I just feel like he needs more of those jump scare moments.
-
They really should create a "DCs in matches" category in the forums for the amount of times this thread gets posted.
-
I don’t like her bald head, other than that it’s ok.
-
I’ve been meaning to post about this.
I started to notice this change when the Legion came out, which was also when Discordance came out as well.
This offering should get reworked into something else because you’re pretty much guaranteed to spawn together with at least one person. Which as some have pointed out only benefits killers.
-
I fail to understand how not acknowledging a buff is a bad thing. Maybe people feel ok with the buffs so they have nothing to add.
As for “insta” heals being nerfed, yeah none of these buffs are anywhere near as powerful. No matter how you spin it, there is nothing “insta” in the add on category for survivors anymore.
-
The goal is to escape, the objective is anything that helps you achieve that goal.
-
Lol people just don’t know how to hit one more time.
-
I mean overall, this maps does have the best spawn locations.
I’d say Hawkings Lab second, only cuz it’s still newish.
-
If you’re playing against Freddy you need to drop the pallet from at least a 32 meter radius.
-
I for one don’t think keys are that OP, at least they require an objective... and more than half of the time it’s only 1 maybe two survivors that get to use it.
-
This is a bad idea... it would further encourage camping which is already annoying enough as it is.

Nah. She's going to keep her base power, her addons, and her collision. What survivors can do is git gud.
@Tucking_Friggered Another un-needed "git gud" post.
Thanks for contributing the discussion, there is so much substance in your one sentence I can hardly contain myself.
-
If they did, they would have to get rid of the majority of the pallets (if not all)... anything else that stuns killers (DS, Head on, Flashlights).
In essence we do have them in limited/conditional amounts but I think that's what makes the game different than other games.
Though sometimes I am like "Seriously? A pallet stunned someone twice my size?" my we get over that. lol

@Theoretical_Heart said:
Because most normal people feel insulted when they are told how to do something they didn't ask to be told how to do.
How to drive, how to mow, how cook, are all things no one likes being told how to do.
Sometimes we need to be told better but it doesn't change our nature. It's natural to feel slighted.
@Theoretical_Heart I guess it does take a specific person to not react immediately.
I mean, I don't really like being told what to do, but if someone came to me and said
"Hey, you know how you dropped that pallet instead of getting away, so they didn't get a second hook... this could be something that could help you in future games."
I would totally take them up on it and improve my game, but as you said not everyone has the same reaction.
I just wish BHVR did a better job at providing tools to accommodate newbies in this new matchmaking system. It's not very beginner friendly... and I understand their own friends have a responsibility, and I am willing to do my part... but at the end of the day, the game itself should provide tools as well.

Looping a M1 killer for 3 min is doable on some maps.
@Lucama If they are extremely bad, yes.

@DrVeloxcity said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/95353/spirit-is-impossible-to-loop
No she isnt. I looped a Spirit for a good 3 minutes last night without using Iron Will, Spine Chill, or any other Spirit countering perks.
I actually do this quite consistently. She isnt impossible. But I recommend Spine Chill and Iron Will for learning to counter Spirit.
These also aren't just niche perks. These are both really good perks that are ranked mid to high tier.
@DrVeloxcity 3 minutes?? Lmao That must have been a really bad Spirit then.
Even on normal killers that sounds impossible. Looping her is a constant guessing game.
It's not fun to do that over and over. So if she wants to keep her base power 2 things need to go... Prayer Beads and Collision. Because it doesn't take that much skill to know you are bumping against an invisible object and swing.
-
I don’t think this change is necessary.
-
Obviously you didn't read her lore.

I play her at rank 1 killer and i dont even main her and get 4ks. Spirit isn't hard, shes SO easy to play, standing still and phase walk aren't complex mechanics.
@Victory I was just going to say... you can argue how much you don't want Spirit nerfed, but don't pretend like she is HARD to play as when all you need is good ears.
Her weakness (not be able to see survivors only their scratchmarks) has no value when you can clearly hear them grunting because some of them are so loud.
-
She is annoying to play against... I wouldn't expect any less from a salty person.

I'm blaming survivors
@LegionMain343 Go right ahead. You aren't the only one.
I am a Wraith main and I don't find a problem with this.
-
Balance reasons.
A term often people forget and just want to blame the other side for.
-
I liked old MoM, I hope it comes back in some form.
-
Why are people in this constant state of thinking that those 3 are the only ones played?
What region are you in? Are you playing with the same people?
I get a variety of killers playing in red ranks. I never ONLY see Billy, Spirit and Nurse.
-
@ScottJund said:
For all the bits of advice given here, some good, some meme worthy, sadly most of it really boils down to "just guess correctly." There are bits of advice that help skew things slightly more towards your favor, but at the end of the day you are just guessing, which is why most people hate playing against her.
@ScottJund I was thinking the same thing.
”Guess and if you’re lucky you might get away...”

@Rin_is_my_waifu said:
Survivors want to do two things in this game: 1)Having easy games 2) Bullying the weak killers.
But they can do neither of them against spirit and nurse. So they abuse the DC mechanic and cry here for nerfs so that they can convince the devs to nerf them.
Nurse got gutted and I'm afraid Spirit or Billy are next.
Sadly we are outnumbered by those survivor mains and there is a high chance for them to win again
@Rin_is_my_waifu Your comment couldn’t be more biased.
You think playing Spirit is not “easy” ? Lmao
Give me a freaking break.
-
Huh I think Adam has some of the best cosmetics in the game.
-
How about he has the ability to get in a locker instead?
I kinda feel like GF needs something else besides stalk -expose-down.
This could work similar to how Quick n Quiet works. It would make him more lethal and VERY something he does in the movies.
