    people bring ds because they fear being tunneled, your comment has no sense, and killers must slug to not eat ds, if enduring actually made something as used to be wouldnt be any problem but is not like that anymore.

    the nerf im talking to does NOTHING against what DS is meant to do, ANTI TUNNEL, if i go for other survivor and i hook him ds should TURN OFF that is what i want you to understand use the brain please.

    @yoi

    Umm, I don't bring DS because I get tunneled, and neither do many people.

    DS has always been a offensive type perk.

    "Using whatever is at hand, you stab at your aggressor in an ultimate attempt to escape."

    It was never strictly a "anti tunnel" perk. They only added conditions to it and a timer.

    You say killers have to slug to not eat the DS, guess what? Even when the person doesn't have DS they still slug. Even when NO ONE is the obsession they still slug. This isn't rocket science.

    the problem johnny is taht ACTUAL DS forces the killer to slug, survivors HATE beign slugged but at the same time they force beign slugged cause ds, interesting right?.

    @yoi

    I was slugged literally 5 times yesterday. In the same match.

    DS wasn’t even there anymore, but they still did it.

    Im not saying they shouldn’t slug to run the DS timer out but I am putting it into perspective WHY people bring DS in most games.

    Killers aren’t going to play nicer if DS ever got nerfed. It probably will never be since it isn’t something that is broken atm.

  • The ones I don’t understand are the ones at a corner of a wall where the killer just goes around the pallet and hits as if there was no obstacle at all.

    That seems useless IMO.

  • It never was meant to be.

    It CAN be used as an anti tunnel perk but it’s not primary it.

    If a killer can slug excessively I see no problem with DS at all.

    The survivors wanted the nerf and survivors LIKE the nerf. this is all that matters to the devs as survivors are the cash cows, or as the industry calls them "whales" and they just disconnect against anything they hate until it is removed or nerfed.

    @snozer

    Then explain how some killer mains don’t have a problem with her nerf then.

    Stop trying to make a survivor’s vs killers which is all your post tries to do.

    Survivors aren’t the only ones spending money on this game.

    if they were obvious that would defeat the entire purpose of her power

    @SteelDragon

    Every killer needs a counter, the point is that her "counter" is a gamble. Nobody (I don't care who the killer is) should have to resort to having to look this deep (in her case those little shards) in order to come up with some type of strategy against her.

    You missed the entire point of his video. This isn't about what her power can do, it is about survivors having some type of legitimate cue/signal when she is using it.

  • @PistolTimb said:

    Huntress is overrated, but good in the right hands/latency. Pig is underrated because she has good slowdown, stealth, and her dash pairs well with save the best for last which is always a godsend.

    @PistolTimb

    The way I just laughed at "in the right hands and latency" xD

  • I don't understand why people even argue what you can/cannot be hyped about.

    If you don't care or feel hyped, something within you made you care enough to post a comment.

    Perhaps next time, just move on to reading something else?

  • Yep cuz only survivors spend money in this game.

    Your post couldn’t be any more far from the truth. All it does is (yet again) show that too many people in these forums have this idea that devs only “listen” to survivors... and killers are like the red headed step child or something.

    MANY of the changes that have happened have nerfed survivors. Yet for every handful of nerfs I might see one survivor complaining those changes.

    I couldn’t even take this post serious after “Insta heals were nerfed because of Nurse” ... So they weren’t adjusted because in most scenarios they were too much and because they were very easy to use??? Hmmm.

    In most cases money talks but survivors aren’t the bank, cuz if they were MoM would still be around.

    One out of the 10,000 whining post about the SAME thing.

  • Genrush is a term used so loosely in this game, I don't even take it serious anymore.

    No one says anything when killers slug to an excessive amount of time, or when they tunnel or camp to try to get that person out of the game.

  • I main Plague and her Thana/Dying Light build would be nasty.

    I dont want tunneling/camping BS, but you do you son

    @Jejune

    So you would rather someone “sacrifice” themselves than work for the kill? Gotcha.

  • Nah fam. I don’t need someone to give me a freebie. I can get it myself if I’m that desperate via the camping/tunneling off hook which many already do.

    You have the power to slow down the game yourself.

  • It’s going to be survive with friends and the game will automatically make everyone lose the ability to speak.

  • I kind of feel like this notion that “No one is playing other killers in red ranks” is simply not true.

    Perhaps it is a region thing, but I keep seeing different killers... and some that aren’t even mid-tier. I’m just not sure that everyone is having the same experience. Yesterday alone I saw 1 spirit, 2 Hillbillies, 2 Clowns, 3 Trappers and a Wraith.

  • @EverflowingRiver said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/839318#Comment_839318

    That example isn't necessarily toxic, it was to show how a player acted differently because of the challanges.

    @EverflowingRiver

    True, but when we talk about “toxic behavior” which is what the entire post is about... not allowing someone else to heal you whether you do it for a challenge or not isn’t toxic behavior and definitely not something the archives is forcing you to do.

    Asking for a farm is the easy way out with a lot of these challenges. However, I personally don’t want that. That’s why they are called “challenges” because they encourage you to play a certain way that isn’t necessarily safe or optimal... just not “toxic”.

  • @EverflowingRiver said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/839009#Comment_839009

    It does when it promotes this type of behavior. I won't use names, but a streamer the other day spent a lot of time focusing on self care during the match, putting his team in a rough spot (he's my favorite streamer; I'm not trying to rag on him).

    @EverflowingRiver

    But how is not allowing someone to heal you toxic?

    I do it sometimes even when I’m not doing challenges, because it’s just more efficient when someone else could be on a gen, for example.

  • A forum post I can agree with.

  • No big deal for me. Some of them look old anyway.

    If those skins were attached to some kind of “veteran program” I could understand people being upset.

  • I don’t think you’re overthinking it but from my experience it’s only been a match in between that I’ve had these scenarios.

    Then again, I think in the right circumstances refusing to get healed or getting the killers attention in order to use pallets isn’t toxic. If the player wants to troll, then I understand the sentiment but I don’t think that the archives themselves promote this behavior.

  • As much as it sucks for those people who bought skins through a black market, you can’t expect BHVR to control how those people use their wallet.

    Personally I feel that as a company they are doing the right thing especially since now some of those prices have gone from a small amount to an insane amount price tag-wise.

    Good sir... what killers are viable for purple and red ranks? Is there like... A tendency towards who you face there? Or do you see all kinds of killers? Ahm... I don't know about you, Red Ranks and Purple ranks, as an XBOX player, are filled with Spirit, Freddy and Nurse.

    Why do you think that is?

    Why don't killers play as other characters? Cause they feel they don't stand a chance against those suvivors.

    Why not buff other killers for them to be red rank material? Why nerf Spirit and not make it so that people decide to play as other killers? I can't remember the last time I played Doctor, Pig, etc.

    We don't know the reasons why Devs make changes to anything, they don't post statistics or justifications, they're all speculations.

    "Spirit was over performing" ok, what's "overperforming"? what's considered balance? a 2k average? Or are the Devs trying to please more the "having fun" than an actual killcount balance? I guess we won't know, at least for now.

    @Carlosylu

    That may be the case on Xbox, but on PC you can easily see Clowns, Pigs, and even Wraiths in red ranks. Yesterday alone I faced a Demo, Wraith, Clown, Michael. No Spirits or Freddies.

    You know why? Because those players are confident in themselves that they don't need an overpowered killer to win and also want to have fun.

    We do know why devs make adjustments and changes, they often share it with us, you must not be following and reading the reasoning or maybe you don't like their reasoning and thats fine. Just don't sit there and say "We don't know any reasons why devs change anything"... when in fact you do, you just don't want to accept it.

  • @Carlosylu said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/835747#Comment_835747

    I don't know Peanits, it started with Nurse, then Spirit, and maybe I got myself missunderstood, I don't mean that there's people who wanna nerf every killer, but every time you guys nerf something they see the chance and ask for more and more, I really hope no other killer gets nerfed, more like reworks or buffs for unloved and practically unseen killers at purple and red ranks.

    I do get that you guys call the shots, but I really don't wanna see any change to Freddy, this post is merely for fun

    @Carlosylu

    What is also important is the why in things that need to be changed.

    It’s easy just to call out the devs for nerfing something but if you’ve been following you know they aren’t nerfing something for no reason.

  • Record a video as evi—- Oh wait, but it already happened...

    Oh well, reenact the whole thing 😂

  • In the case of Rin’s relative being the new killer...

    Unfortunately, with the changes it feels like her lunge is so bad now. I think it's due to how slow she is coming out of a blink and how lunge is tied to speed. Whatever it is, that or dedicated servers or whatnot, her lunge feels so short and terrible. Like EW1 Myers short.

    @coppersly

    I main Myers, so I know what you mean. Although I think much of that is due to the dedicated servers, I kept whiffing yesterday even though I was like right behind the survivor.

    Look, I understand that fluidity is important and maybe that’s what people are missing from her. I haven’t tried new nurse so I can’t speak on the rework itself, but I don’t miss omega blink nurse at all.

    There was a game I used to play that had a very powerful character and she had a shield that no one could break in pvp and it felt like a lot of fun... they ended up neutering it and gave it a long CD while also not making it completely impenetrable. It definitely left me feeling like they took the fun out of her, so I can totally sympathize.

  • @Mr_K said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/833030#Comment_833030

    Are you referring to more than 2 blinks? Because your statement only makes sense if you are.

    She can only attack after a blink not during so she needs to blink the correct distance to where you will be. I don't know what you mean about landing infront of. She can turn around you know. Her camera isn't locked in one direction.

    @Mr_K Yes it was in response to the “constant blinking” comment.

    To me, she suffered from the same problem as Legion, which was it is too easy to catch up to someone and ignore vaults or pallets because they can be on the other side before your feet hit the ground. This was accomplished through multiple blinks not through accuracy of blinks. People got used to blinking more than she needed to really.

    I’ve literally dodged good Nurses (pre-rework) and there were times when she might have been swinging at dead air but because of the hit boxes situation I would get hit anyway.

  • @coppersly said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/832966#Comment_832966

    I enjoyed Omega-Blink, no shame. I was never very good with the extra blinks tbh.

    However, I was plenty capable of winning without either of those addons. It took a little longer and was harder, but still I was able to destroy countless survivors who ran in straight lines or tried looping like I was another killer.

    Now it doesn't matter that you're Nurse, you are an m1 killer in-between blinking. There is no rewording that, when you are not blinking now there is no amount of skill or thought involved, it's a limitation without any way to get more out of it. You can't do something new or interesting or EVEN MINDGAME LIKE YOU USED TO, it's literally completely and utterly a negative compared to the old kit. Saying it takes skill not to use your power is just... stupid.

    And blinking constantly was PART OF HER DESIGN. She is the slowest in the game BECAUSE YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO USE HER POWER TO MOVE. That usually requires using it back-to-back constantly. And it does take skill because if you're blinking a lot without any skill you're going to fling yourself way past them or no where near them or even not move because blink got eaten by the map. It is stupid to say she was OP because you could blink constantly, IT TOOK SKILL to use those blinks to get hits, they didn't just happen because you held m2.

    @coppersly if blinking constantly was part of her design then they would have just given her the constant blink as a mobility power and not let her hit WHILE blinking because that’s what broke her.

    You could literally blink infront of a survivor sometimes and swing and you’d get a guaranteed hit. That doesn’t exactly scream skill especially when you have already blinked enough to correct your mistakes.

    Can't deny that SWF breaks the game the same way we can't deny that SWF has helped the game gain its popularity. Without SWF the game probably wouldn't have gotten off as well as it did.

    The only real way to balance out the mess that SWF brought into the game is by acknowledging that IS an easy mode that allow friends to share information together that someone who plays alone has to load multiple loadouts worth of perks for something they can get for free using a third party program. Not to mention the amount of killer perks and tactics that can get easily called out and made null by giving each other this information.

    This makes games very swinggy and dramatic enough between swf and none swf mtces.

    The game's made strive to reduce the gap between the two by "buffing" one survivor perk a year lol, when a more easy solution would just to let everyone try out to MANUALLY OP-IN to voice coms. Off by default, but you can turn on if you'd like. Like in Destiny 2. Games would be more consistent between the two and we can actually make perks work for both sides. Instead of it being useless for the killer if survivor has them.

    @mistar_z

    I wouldn’t call SWF “Easy” maybe “Coordinated” and sometimes even SWF becomes a hinderance because you’re trying to explain something to a teammate and wasting time while doing so.

    I can’t even count how many times I’ve heard “I thought you said he was on you!” While playing with friends.

    At the end of the day skill trumps SWF, if you have no skill no amount of communication is going to help you outplay/outrun the killer. If the killer is bad he/she was already doomed from the start. Same with survivors.

  • Where are you getting 35 seconds from cuz my teammates can’t even last 10 seconds.

    There is still a skill gap that no one wants to talk about. I watched a guy play Plague without ruin and slaughter red rank survivors over 100 times.

    At some point even the best killer will realize where they are doing something bad and improve.

  • Because they know it’s an exploitable annoyance.

  • They’ve already said they are working on something, you just have to be patient.

  • @arslaN

    Thanks for sharing, I did not know about this post.

    I still think it's important that people provide feedback, even if the devs themselves know what she needs, doesn't mean they should simply ignore suggestions.

    Many suggestions (they have admitted) have come from players themselves.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/825733#Comment_825733

    1) It doesn't matter what the stated problems are, the devs already made up their minds about changing Spirit independent of player complaints.

    2) The "solutions" I have read thus far are not good solutions. They all revolve around basically giving Spirit a giant neon sign above her head that says "I AM PHASE WALKING NOW". That's not a solution. Good players do not make good game designers. Furthermore, the devs are not going to take a single person solution verbatim, first because of legal reasons and second because that's not how you solve these problems. You solve them through testing and iteration. What sounds good on paper may end up being horrible in practice and vice versa. I'd be scared to see what the game was like if anyone on the forums had a say in the game's design.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/825755#Comment_825755

    I'm actually suggesting that we DO NOT accept the changes blindly. Every change to every perk/killer thus far has been blindly accepted because we are not privy to BHVR's plans. We know literally nothing about what will happen until it happens, at which point our concerns are limited to minor changes to something that will happen regardless of what we think.

    I'm saying we NEED more transparency from the devs in this situation because of how divisive it is.

    Hence why I ask to see the data that shows her over performing, what issues THEY have identified, and what THEIR goals are when it comes to Spirit changes. The community needs to be a part of this process or it will be the same issues over and over again.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/825793#Comment_825793

    It's wasted because the devs do things independent of the community. We know nothing about what they were planning for anything until it happens. If we were at least given some transparency we could voice our concerns long before they implement something that we will end up not liking. They said themselves they are sometimes surprised by our reactions. Well that wouldn't happen if we were given more information before major sweeping changes were put into the game.

    I'm not asking for them to tell us everything, just the important things so we can voice our concerns BEFORE it is too late to go back.

    @thesuicidefox

    Where did the devs say that they have already made up their minds about what changes the Spirit needs? Where are you getting this information?

    Just because players aren't designers and give opinions and suggestions doesn't mean the devs are going to take them for granted either. That's the whole point of the forums.

    I haven't even seen a dev actually even say they are looking at Spirit, only thing I've seen is Peanits agreeing that standing on the other side of the pallet is not a skill. That's about it.

    I think the only Spirit thread that matters is the one where people are civil and respectful to each other, and can have a healthy discussion. Not one where there is more bickering or ones where they are trying to silence people.

  • Players have already pointed out (some in great detail) what the problems/solutions are though.

    The problem is some people fail to read them.

  • @arslaN said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/822795#Comment_822795

    Yep. Killers on these forums actually whine and cry 10 times more than survivors do. There was probably like 10 nerf spirit posts and we have like a 100 don't nerf spirit or stop crying survivors posts lmao.

    @arslaN

    Yeah, at least I can say most of the posts asking for Spirit changes have somewhat of an argument and present ideas on how she could be changed.

    Though many are just ignoring anything being said but going to other threads and saying people are just asking to nerf her without any legitimate reasons.

    It probably was a split second situation I've seen that happen with people using ghostface or Myers but honestly it's pretty inconsistent sometimes it will down them sometimes it won't as I said split second is a very annoying thing to judge

    @Volfawott

    That's what I am guessing too, it must have been a split of a second kind of thing, cuz I was expecting her to come out on to the ground. I downed her right away right after so I can't complain, but just wondered if lockers affected it.

  • @HatCreature said:

    You can see that the Exposed effect wore out once she was out of the locker, it only lasts 3 seconds once they exit the cloud so basically once she was in the locker the 3 seconds started. It is strange that she came out injured though.

    @HatCreature

    She was hit as she went into the locker a second time. Even the person playing was a bit thrown off.

  • The irony that you think that those first two are actually unfun to go up against in comparison. 😂

    Also, is it me or are we seeing more posts complaining about the actual complaints?

  • Just leave Spirit the way she is and change her name to:

  • @Peanits said:

    This is actually a good question and something that we would love to have at some point. The reason is pretty simple: Word filters can only do so much. Say you filter out the word "Elephant" (let's just pretend that's an insult so I don't have to deal with the forum's profanity filter). You can spell that 3lephant, 3l3ph4nt, e.lephant, Élephant, etc. The list goes on and on. You can try your best to catch it, but someone's always going to find a way to outsmart it.

    It also doesn't catch stuff like telling someone to jump in front of a bus, since all of those words on their own are perfectly fine. Not to mention that other languages overlap with English (die = the in German).

    Still, it is a good thing to have. Might as well catch some of it rather than none. The other half is a matter of priorities. Would we rather make a word filter, or work on a new disconnection handling system? We opted for the latter first since we already have a team of ACMs who can review chat reports.

    Short version, definitely nice to have, wouldn't outright stop it, so we're focusing on the DCs first while the ACM team handles the chat stuff.

    @Peanits

    Thank you for the response.

    I can definitely see how many would just alter the spelling of the word. It is nice to know that you guys keep it in mind for the future.

    As I pointed out in the OP, I was playing a different game where someone persistently tried to use a racist word and instead the word became "<bleep>" , making his sentence make little to no sense. So that's where I got the idea why this isn't something we can have in post chat, not to necessarily avoid the behavior but exclude words that no one wants to see.

  • I mean, honestly if I'm doing a challenge farming would be the last thing on my mind, unless it's something where I don't need to sacrifice them.

    Toxic people are going to be toxic, doesn't mean everyone else is.

  • @oxygen said:

    Nah.

    Why? Because not making people dance around a block or filter makes them type the words straight up. This makes it easier for whoever handles reports to catch it. Let people say whatever, if they can't handle their actions potentially having consequences and getting them banned they've simple abused that right and get no sympathy from me as they agreed to the rules of the game and then broke them.

    And that's without getting into how no amount of blocking or filtering will stop people. There's always a way to switch out letters and get around it, and it does nothing to intent. If you see one of those silly lines in Overwatch you know that the person actually typed "gg ez" for example, it only works if the player on the recieving end is unaware of the filter in the first place.

    @oxygen

    I wasn't asking for every word to be filtered out. I was referring to the words that will get someone banned. "ggez" isn't one of them.

  • Baby Dweets still have yet mastered the locker play tho.

  • You should have just gg’d and moved on.

    Generally speaking yes it’s more optimal to not cleanse, but there are legit instances where it requires it. So I can’t really speak on the context of when because there are many instances where I would, because I knew it would save my team.

    I say this as a Plague main.
