I'm more concern that people are getting ripped off by NFT scams. But as far as DBD goes there's no NFTs or exclusive content. So until that changes, I don't give damn.

with this specific image though people pointed out it's an image of an already existing action figure.... though, i'd not be surprised.
But here's the thing: the moment they have anything 'nft exclusive' they'd be off steam, because that moment the game would fall under the rule that there mustn't be content in a game that is purchased through nfts, no matter if it is a different company selling that #########
That's why they have started to merge with Epic Games. Everything was calculated.

1) Steam can change its user agreement in a second. Them banning NFTs recently shows that. It's their platform, and they can do whatever they want with it. Multiple court cases have shown this, including when the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission sued Valve Software for not allowing refunds, and then Valve just changed the user agreement the next week to saying "We can deny any refunds at all times." Steam is also know for breaking its own rules, especially with the drama a couple years ago when Valve employees began jumping into VAC banned CSGO account and just deleted hundreds of thousands worth of skins. Do you have BHVR's steam contract? No, you don't, so you have no idea what can or cannot get them banned. Stop pretending like you know what their contract is.
2)

So dead by daylight made a custom Legendary skin for the NFT website and locked it behind a $200 loot box with a 0.1% drop rate. Many people suspect that skin to be Chatterer, but the answer is, we have no idea. BHVR already lied to us, and they are 100% willing to lie again.
3) Nobody forced you to buy anything, that's a strawman argument that you made up. My point was, ADDING A $200 LOOT BOX WITH A 0.1% DROP RATE IS SUCH A DISGUSTING BUSINESS PRACTICE. If that doesn't make you angry, then you probably are just willing to take any bullshit in your life and never fight against anything. What a miserable life.
The skin might be Butterball mate
-
Ah well, guess i'm late ๐
-
And i guess we will still have some surprises with this NFT thing.
Are you ready for an exclusive Cenobite skin that you can't have in-game but only with buying the NFT stuff ?
This picture :
This is clearly a Butterball skin. Pretty sure we won't be able to buy it in game.
And it's well specified that some drops will be available only for those holding the Box (paying the NFT).
BHVR said they provided in-game models and blabla the partner does whatever it wants with them. Fact is BHVR didn't release a Butterball model in-game and i'm sure they have a contract with Boss protocol about it. Time will tell.

Playing survivor feels the same to me. The Boon Totems aren't aren't strong.
The developers did introduce an AoE anti-aura perk, but the Developers were already thinking about anti-aura perks, because they came out with Distortion. If Shadow-Step wasn't made, then Distortion would have been buffed.
Play in duoQ or SWF and you will see if boon totems are not strong. 4 escapes/4 to 5 hooks 99% of the time at a fairly high MMR... but ye, boon totems are weak...

Sometimes totems get found quick, sometimes they don't. Depends on map and the spawn location of the Hex. I still stand by what I said.
Ye you are clearly not a veteran saying such a thing. You know that with 1000+ hours, you mostly know all totems spawn locations right ?
It was already impossible to win a trial as a killer at high MMR without camping and tunneling. Now, with boon totems, it's a complete joke. Period.

If you won 10 games in a row with clown against high mmr survivors I'd ask for video proof. Also define win. 2k/2escape? 3k?
All 4 survivors escaping is a blatant survivor win. Everyone knows, well everyone who is capable of objective reasoning, knows this game is survivor sided, and allowing people in comms to setup an area of the map to literally heal for free at double speeds thats away from the area that the killer wants to control is just ridiculously broken.
It takes upwards of 20-30 seconds chase time to injure ONE survivor. That's negated in 16 seconds now by one survivor who didnt bring a medkit nor self care. Pretend thats balanced.
And you don't even need to communicate to say where the blessed area is.
Every survivor can see the totem and once you are inside the area there is a blue/green aura surrounding the environment.
So at start, the 2 survivors equipped with both perks blessed two totems as fast as possible. We then had two big safe area where killer didn't have marks anymore and where we could heal pretty fast, even without self-care.
Moreover, if a survivor is downed in the blessed area, under a pallet for exemple, the killer will never be able to take the survivor. The killer will injure a proxy survivor that will go to heal in 15 seconds ten meters away while another one will be rdy for the pallet save and then, once healed, will come back to help. It's an infinite loop. If the killer goes to the totem, the downed survivor will be put back on his/her feets etc...
@Phasmamain said:
Thatโs a pretty small sample size
Sure it is but we didn't even try hard, trials were really, really simple to win.
Boon totems are way too OP and create some situations were the killer has totally no option. And the area is so big that those who have said "it will take times to reach the area just to heal" are totally wrong. 2 blessed areas cover almost half the map on any map... you do 10 meters and you are inside a blessed zone.

The fact that everyone threw huge hate at BHVR for the NFT situation and literally a day after the game reaches a 66k peak players playing is just astonishing.
I really want to understand the reason behind the "I'm leaving, bye" posts to exist if you literally come back next day like nothing ever happened?
I was never a fan of this uninstalling trend, but I honestly love continuity. And that isn't a thing here it seems.
66k after such a huge update (balance changes, new survivor, boon totems) is really low compared to the usual 85k peak...

It is called "killers leaving the game" ๐
Less killers + more survivors = long queue times for survivors. Welcome in a world where killer mains have totally lost interest into DbD as it's impossible for them to do anything at an average++ level.
-
Have been tired of the high MMR state of the game on both sides.
I usually like fair games so when playing killer i don't like to camp and tunnel, resulting in the situation where i have some impossible trials to win till i get an ez useless and unfun 4k. It's a continuous loop of boring trials.
When i play Survivor, mostly soloQ and duoQ, there are a ton of DC and the killer is continuously camping and tunneling the first survivor that has been downed. Unfun as well.
So i have stopped to play and moved on my old beloved Battlefield games.
Waiting for VHS and Evil Dead or a real DbD balance rework.

For those saying it wouldn't be meta, some SWF have already messaged me to tell me the new totems are OP ๐.
And some killers have already posted that it's now even more unplayable for them.
Edit : SWF (1 high skilled, 2 average and 1 low skill) have 3+ escapes in all trials they have played for now. That joke...
-
So many survivor mains have said that it wouldn't become META as they are all potatoes knowing nothing about how the game works.
It will be massively Meta in duoQ+ squads. Also, survivors can talk in chat before the beginning of the trial, they will ask who takes which boon perks.
Those boon perks are way, way too strong and have such a great synergy with the old META perks.
Shadow will allow you to loose the killer after the first hit, good synergy with Iron Will, DH, DS and of course with circle of healing. The injured survivor that just lost the killer will go to the healing zone and heal in no time.
That's what will happen in 80% of the trials.
Reminder, 24 meters around the totem = 1800 m2.
Well let's say 2000, it's easier for calculation. It means around 1/5 of some maps.
1/5 of the map, 1/5 for ######### sake...

Wrong. There are no 2k trials, they are almost non existent. It's either 4k ez or 4 escapes ez. There is no in- between anymore.
Trials last 5 minutes either because huge gen rush either because survivors are total potatoes dying fast.

A) That would require survivors to drop a meta perk to take a boon perk. They would have to drop 2 if they want both of those boon perks. I don't see that being a common thing.
B) Setting up a boon totem takes time, thus slowing gen progress. Also, if they have to keep running back to that area to heal, that will also take time, and slow gen progress.
C) If they take the perk, they are going to want to use it, meaning they will be searching for totems. Again, more time not spent doing gens.
D) If you stomp out their totem, they have to go looking for it or another one again, and bless it. Again, more time not spent doing gens.
E) If they choose to bless the totem instead of destroy it, they leave the door wide open for NOED.
You are only looking at one side of the situation. It is a risk vs reward situation.
A) 2 perks out of 16... not a big deal lol.
B) Once settled, the killer will have to loose time to "cleansed" it, survivors will get all the time they have lost back (dropping the chase to find the totem, cleansed it, find a survivor, chase again = like 20 seconds, minimum). Also, you heal way faster so the time you loose going in the area is not really lost, you also save a perk slot to equip something else that can help doing generators or to survive (instead of using self care for exemple) = way more time saved. Not talking about the no marks area where the killer won't be able to do anything but drop the chase.
C) Ye searching for a totem at high MMR, of course, it might take 30 minutes to find one when you know every spots... Moreover, half the time you spawn next to one...
D) Already talked about it in B, time used to enchant it is worth it as it will help a lot to gain time during chases and healing.
E) Noed... such a big deal. Also NOED needs a boon totem to be activated so if the totem is a boon one, noed won't be on it. Noed is a game changer only against an unorganized team. If players are a minimum coordinated, Noed will get you 1k... meaningless.

I wasn't talking about fairness at all.
I know what it's like up there in high mmr, and no i also don't enjoy dbd anymore.
That's why i stepped away from playing killer, something i have played a lot since day 1 and always enjoyed.
I always went for a 12 hook even if it seemed doomed to fail, but with the mmr implemented that is something you just can't do anymore.
Yes bringing items or perks as survivor is imo unnecessary as you will escape pretty easily anyway.
Any gen slowdown perks a killer has is getting nerfed because it's to strong against lower level players, something the devs always put first instead of the higher players.
And imo i think more killers(main) should just switch sides and stay there for a long time, maybe this will open the eyes of the devs for once (doubt that tho)
Don't get me wrong, i understand your frustration, but don't take it out on me as i only gave examples of what to do.
I never talked about it being fair or balanced ๐โ๏ธ
Then we agree on pretty much everything. ๐
Personally i have completely stopped to play DbD. Have installed back BF1 and BF4 and i'm having a blast.
I will wait for VHS and Evil Dead, both look promising but i don't think i will ever come back in the fog, the game is doomed to my mind and devs won't be fast enough to fix it to an acceptable level. And if we refer to my survivor queue times last week, many killers has either switched side either stopped to play.
-
@Dennis_van_eijk said:

Well to be fair, there's a perk called kindred which can help you against campers ๐
Not chosing to run it is on you, i don't always run it either tho as i switch it with different perks.
But overall that perk is very good to use as a solo, both when you're on the hook as well as when another is on the hook.
About tunneling, that depends on the survivor being tunneled.
If the survivor is very good in being chased then the killer has a hard time, even has to decide whether it's worth it to continue or not.
I for 9ne love to being chased and can hold my own very well.
Unless you have other survivors that try to help you and mangle in the chase, i appreciate it when they try to help but in my experience is that it full only screw me over.
Using a perk slot to counter a behavior that should't even exists into the game, where is it fair ?
About tunneling, i only talk about high MMR scene, the rest of the players i don't care as they don't know how to play, why should we care to balance a game for mediocre players ? So at high MMR, against a Nurse, Nemesis, Spirit, Blight you won't be able to last long in any chase.
The global game design is old and broken, allowing camping and tunneling (even forcing these behaviors). Meanwhile developers are creating more and more killers that can end chases in no time just to compensate the gen speed and the garbage map & game designs.
Nothing is fun in DbD anymore.
When you play survivor, you will always get one being camped and tunneled, gen rushing or trying to help is not fun, it's either holding M1 or dying rescuing the hooked camped survivor; in both cases, the interaction with the killer is terribly limited (interacting with the killer being the fun part of the game...).
As a killer, you can't do anything but camp and tunnel as you will be bullied against high skilled survivors, especially if they are not soloQ.
The way DbD has been designed, around generators, hooks & looping is why we all have a terrible experience now that MMR is out as nothing, not a single aspect of the game is properly balanced.
Maps are either too big either too small. They are either too empty either too full of buildings and jungle gyms. There are way too many pallets/windows and possible semi-infinite situations. Generators are done way too fast without any counter measure for the killer. Fact that survivors can bring awesome items to do gens even faster is bullshit.
Fact that they can bring heal items is BS too. Do they have the choice between equipping self care or being injured all the time ? No, Just bring a purple medkit and you are good to go.
Hook system combined with the other aspects force the killers to camp and tunnel.
etc...
Without a global rework of some game mechanics, the game will die and has no future and i believe that no licence will be able to change this.
Before SBMM it was okay as you could have fun on both sides. Since SBMM, my trials have been nothing but garbage on both sides. As a killer it was either an ez win either an impossible win. As a survivor it has always been camping and tunneling one of the survivor to get the first kill fast.
All the fun parts have disappeared. DbD won't last with the current state. And as the devs seem unhappy with the idea of removing SBMM and as they need years to fix simple things, DbD is pretty much dead and already dying.
-
The camping counter is wrong as it's only countered by SWF.
Non SWF will have to come check the hook, see that the killer is camping and then decide individually to do gens. All survivors will loose 1 minute doing this. So atm there is no counter.
As well, tunneling has no counter against killers that are efficient in chases.

Looks like average MMR people playing with friends. At high MMR you will see this so often you stop caring. Look at your perks. You weren't even prepared to play against them. Do you think Ruin+Undying does something on high level vs Nemesis? They will rush through it since this killer has bad mobility and bad slugging potential. Coup the grace on Nemesis who has that kind of M2? What kind of joke is that? What was your strategy then? I think I need to accept you don't understand these core interactions along with strengthness and weakness of a killer and watch some competitive matches to understand why you've got no chance of winning against them with this kind of setup.
Just accept your loss and move on. Improving or not MMR will find a place for you.
Here's something for you to watch.
SS tier killer, great killer player vs SWF. 1 hook, all escape. Such a great game... BHVR be ashamed.
And players on this forum claiming the game is balanced or that killers are OP, be ashamed as well, you are just terrible survivor players. Get gud.

Thats what I call a sweaty swf team. They even used a cake + my party streamer and they still rushed the gens and tried to escape as fast as possible, ofc with classic teabags, flash light clicks only at the exit gate. I couldve try to go for kills by camping and tunneling but as I saw the cake so I wanted to go just for points and try to hook everyone for my bbq stacks. Ofc they took advantage of that and played the most efficiant way as possible by pushing the gens and finished the game therefore in 6min.
I am not saying survivors are not allowed to play sweaty or should try to win. What I am saying is if there are 2 BPS boosters in the game and the killer is clearly not going for tryhard and is even not playing a meta killer and you still try to genrush with the best set up of items in your entire team stacked and still teabagg at the gate and then insult the killer in the endgame chat (I took the screenshot without the insults cuz I dont want to make these ppl look too bad in the forums) that I am bad and should uninstall the game then this is very sad imo.
Tbf this is nothing really new, we know that sweaty swf squads exist. My point of this threat is why ppl play like that? How can ppl feel "superior" by absolutely rushing the game even though you used a BP offering against a mid tier killer. Also I am suprised that grps like that even play against these kind of Killers, I know that I have max MMR with Nemesis but idk how BHVR thinks that this is "fair" in any way.
Like seriously, we had 2 chases and the game was done xD
4 DS, 4 BT, 4 good items with full add-ons, don't see what's wrong here, everything is balanced ๐.
I have posted some screenshot aswell like 2 weeks ago, i have had a ######### ton of bad comments from survivor mains that don't know anything about the game and see it only through their own selfish perspective.

I'm always happy to see non meta killers get attention trapper mains are good now it would be nice to see a addon that reveals auras of survivors who disable their traps
Fact is killers can't play anymore at high MMR resulting in :
- 100% of the game you will get at a fairly high MMR will be (already are in fact lol) tunnel/proxycamp every survivor hooked
- Killer mains leaving due to frustration and "unplayability"
No killer = game is dead.

Why should the killer have to pick up and hook a survivor?
Solve both problems by automatically taking downed survivors and popping them up somewhere on a hook.
Ye, can work aswell but it would remove the possibility of bodyblocks to get a save, flashlight saves etc... which are good gameplay features in a balanced environment.
-
I have completely stopped to play as a killer.
As a survivor, most games are now camp & tunnel the first hooked survivor so i'm about to totally uninstall the game.
If we massively stop to play, maybe the devs will understand that now we have enough.
-
Why do we still argue here honestly ? Let's just all uninstall this game and move on. Devs don't care about the community, it is obvious.
I have totally lost faith in BHVR and in DbD. The game is not balanced, the maps are garbage (balance wise) and the game design forces the killers to camp and tunnel, making the game unfun for both sides.
Add to this the most toxic community and you have the worst game around for your mental health.
And you know what ? Devs are happy about it and force even more the in- game toxicity as they add perks/designs to make the other side rage quit. And then they add a ban system to enrage you even more.

You do realize that on the general section you just see the titles? Based on your title I thought you would talk with a mature neutral mind set and wanted to discuss, what I see here is someone who claims to be a "veteran" and lacks the knowledge and mind set to understand changes for both sides, and therefore you just complain about things that seem to you unjustified which is pretty sad to see sry to say that.
Also simply calling me a survivor main is not really an insult, I am actually a Killer main but idk why you try to put the term survivor main as an insult, you should really grow up dude xD
Fact is killers are leaving the sinking ship and you cannot deny it.
Killer queues are instant at high MMR while survivor queues are really long (5 to 10 minutes).
And if you play survivor at high MMR (i don't know if you play survivor and if you are good at it), you will see that you will face bad killers most of the time, it means that all good killers have stopped to play.
On Twitch, many streamers (not only main stream streamers but also small ones) have stopped to play killer aswell.
Playing killer is a joke now, you either have babies surv or strong, unbeatable teams, neither is fun. And this with the goal to artificially make the game looks balanced. BHVR released the kill rate stats in a hurry to show how balanced the game is now, what a joke. Every trials is unbalanced but the global results, the average is "balanced".
-
DbD is dying, players are already leaving massively since SBMM release and the desertion will be huge with the next update.
BHVR won't be able to fix anything fast enough and mot of the playerbase will move on on another game and never comes back.
I hope that the players will stop to accept all those bullshit changes. Time will tell.
For now, peak players is at 50k against 75k 2 weeks ago.
And on Twitch the viewers average number drop is -20% which is huge.

Just thought it was funny that BHVR is either unaware or just wants to discredit the โHold Wโ meta, where you can sometimes waste like 20-30 seconds of the killerโs time before they are close enough to initiate a chase.
Yes, they don't know how to play their own game properly :).
Most of the time, running straight meanwhile breaking the line of sight is the best option and the most effective way to make a chase last longer.

Then you do it again until you stop complaining about something that won't be meta.
It will be meta in 3Q and SWF.
1 survivor will have the healing boon and another one will get the shadow one. Half the map will be a heal fest and the other half a chase impossible place :).
Rest of the perks will be unbreakable, DS, DH etc...
I don't understand how you cannot see it will be OP in SWF...
Honestly, those developers should stop to think and actually fix the features that are already in the game, global balance in the first place.

IF you are using BBQ for anything other than bloodpoints, your doing it wrong!
I don't but many killers, even at high MMR are using BBQ to track targets...

Yea, heal yourself "super fast". 24 seconds to bless the totem and then 8 seconds to heal = 32 seconds. Same as self care, without factoring in the time it takes to find the totem and if we do, it's slower than self care.
"super fast"
Boons will be OP just like Power Struggle, Deliverance, Inner Strength, For the People, Any Means Necessarily, Desperate Measures, Smash Hit, Counterforce, Flashbang, Head On, Soul Guard, the buffed WGLF and others were OP. Oh, wait...
It will never work like this. Players will set a heal area on the map as well as a chase area at the start of the trial.
Survivors that need to heal will go to this area and be full life in 8 seconds. Survivor in chase will go to the chase area and have no scratch marks etc...
If you play killer at a good MMR you know that boon totems will kill the balance even more.
