I have never used these dirty strategies, but it is true that the lack of ruin will increase them in other killers.

Slugging is one of these "dirty" strategies and you said it's one of your ideas of keeping the pressure.

  • @Rivyn said:

To BHVR, killers are just bots, and they're fine with that.

At this point I wouldn't mind they implement a solo mode for actual bots to play Killer. Is way simpler to program an AI to follow Survivors and if X distance to Survivor do a Lunge. Seems way easier then fixing the huge amount of balance issues.

  • @CLAUDETTEINABUSH said:

They hear us. A LOT. Remember balanced landing? Hilariously op. Now smacked, nerfed. How about ds. Op triple sss tier. Now,an anti tunneling perk. You see where I'm going with this?

They do hear,us,the killer mains. Last patchnotes if you remember correctly was killer sided, the balanced landing changes and the undetectable status effect. So yes, they do hear us a lot more than you think

If any of this changes are huge nerfs then I think Adrenaline should give 3 seconds of Sprint instead of 5 because that's the only thing wrong with it. Or No one Left Behind insanely OP just take away the BP bonus and boost the action speed.

  • Dev-approved cheating is not equal to cheating. Same as saying a really big loop like Ironworks of Misery is an infinite, you know it isn't but you call that just for shorten the deal.

  • @Fibijean said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/967759#Comment_967759

Except that's not actually the definition of cheating. By definition, cheating is violating the rules of the game. The rules of the game are determined by the developers.

There's no such thing as developer-approved cheating - if the person who makes the rules says that something isn't in violation of the rules, then that thing cannot definitionally be considered cheating.

He is saying "using a third party program is, technically, cheating but because the Dev team explicitly said it was allowed then isn't cheating" so "dev-approved cheating" is just shorting the explanation.

Ruin was never necessary. I'm a purple rank killer and I play killers like wraith and legion without ruin all the time and still get 3-4k's. People who need ruin to slow the game for them are either getting outplayed by well-hiding survivors, chasing the same one person for too long, or not playing to their advantages

So you are saying that you are using good mobility Killers so you don't need Ruin, my guess is I need to improve my mobility on Trapper and try to apply more pressure while setting my traps.

  • @Impala said:

The thing is, you don't know yet how nerfed Ruin is, it might not even be a nerf, look at Monto playing it with Surveillance, but the thing is that Monto is actually a good killer that knows what he's doing unlike so many of you crying after it...

Monto could prove to be a much better killer if he showed the bad matches he has. His YouTube channel has only matches where the Survivors literally walk to walls and don't repair gens.

  • Just a heads-up, when you talk about the high risks on using a Hex Perk actually it's 3x16 (4 Survivors with 4 perks each).

Let's be honest killers always say m1 simulator is boring but that's what legion was, mending in a corner for 90%of the match

How does engaging in a multiple people chase with high mobility but lower visibility was comparable as an m1 simulator, or are you doing the BHVR approach and only focusing on the Survivor POV ?

Looking at your username I think you cried yourself to sleep when lesion got a nerf

Are you implying that the Legion got a deserved and balanced Nerf? Because if that's what you think I'm pretty sure you don't see the two sides of the equation.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Because making proper AI play like a human would is very, very hard, and takes a lot of manpower to do.

Well that is indeed a reasonable concern but nothing that time can't help. I'm not saying do this now but for a far away future. Also the AI wouldn't be really good they would just be programmed to follow you and hit when a certain distance is met.

  • Just make a Off-line mode with more freedom of how the roles are made, like if I want to put two AI Killers against me I could.

Well I can't help you with your deep/oviously/ problems using that brain instead of getting triggered. Moving away for a huntress being 10 miles away called being a counter /???/ , assuming gen rushing from a simple quote "I was doing a gen". What is next - did I teabag her if I've said I escaped ? Are we okay there ? You made me laught and I just woke up /still sleepy/ You sound really paranoid/stressed out.

Well you said it first "i think about it but I don't know if she was good enough for hitting me from miles away" if you know that one could happen and still don't leave the gen. If that mentality is of a good player then I might be one of the worst players on this game.

  • @Haku said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/943399#Comment_943399

I guess you missed the part where I said across the map - imagine it me on Earth, her on Mars. Now why would I get off a gen. Nothing to do with common sense even though I still remember it and I thought about it for a second but I was thinking there is no way from THAT far ... It was on Azarov's. This is how strong she is just with any hatches when used by a good player

"I know the counter, I think about it and could easily do it but I want to rush the gen mindlessly" sounds just about right.

  • People really don't like read as they assume 80 seconds on chases don't have the times for: find a Survivor, Down them, Put on a Hook.

80 seconds for this might be high but I don't think lowering the time for getting a hook better than lowering the disparity between the two objectives (5 gens vs 8 to 12 hooks).

The Nurse ones were easy. On PS4, for Skilled Huntress you have to down survivors 100 times, and it is not easy to aim her hatchets, especially not from over 24 meters away. Even if the survivor is standing still it takes me multiple tries.

I didn't play Nurse enough to get this, and when I did the Omega/Multi Blink was reason to DC so I guess having that sweet Platinum Trophy it's gonna take a long time.

The Huntress is my top 1 favorite Killer to run so I guess is just personal preference.

    Being tunneled/camped

    Being hook farmed

    Being flashlighted

Seeing a gen pop at the beginning of the match before you can even walk over there

Needing 8k XP for each tier of the Rift

    Trying to play Nurse

Trying to get the Skilled Huntress achievement on PS4

    Haddonfield

Survivors disconnecting to deny you an achievement/challenge

Killers disconnecting so that you get no BP or XP

Skilled Huntress? That one can be gained through multiple trials, From the Void She Kills (I'm not 100% sure if it's this or the From the Void She Walks) where you need to grab a Survivor on you third blink.

This isin't about rescues, its encouraging people to go get healed by others (which benefits the other member of your team, by keeping the team healthy and not dead which means they can loop the killer more effectively/be safer on gens whilst also keeping you safer) which at the moment rewards you nothing except a health state. self caring is actually more benefical point wise which makes no sense. this way you'd be encouraged to be healed.

The injured part also encourages staying outside of a chase for longer in order to be rewarded for surviving in a potentially dangerous situation. if you are downed those points are lost and they are only awarded for leaving whilst injured or upon being healed. all of these things culminate to get us away from the anti heal meta, by at some point requiring/encouraging us to be healed by friends

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/815777#Comment_815777

That will just encourage people to make others dc, ie higher rates of sandbagging and being revealed by another player to the killer because "oh i get more points" for doing so. it will only encourage toxicity.

My bad, I didn't quote the reply I was mentioning on that, it's another suggestion in which you would gain half points for rescue if you was on chase/gen when the rescue is done.

  • I'm a little skeptical about your rescue suggestion because could encourage people not wanting to rescue anymore cause they don't need to be the one who rescued to gain points.

Although I think the BP gap could be lessened the ways to get BP should always be doing actions towards the objective.

Killers get BP for doing anything because the 4 categories cover anything a killer should do (hunt people, injury them, hook them and using his/her power) so I guess a tweak on the Blood Points Categories for Survivors would benefit this.

  • I know that a solo survivor gets less bp than a killer, but I don't really like how the "just give me points for no reason" is good for the game. One very strange way to gain points was the changes for the obsession giving points for dying, how a new player should react when they see "You did good because you died" ?

My idea to fix spirit would be to make her phasing noise audible everytime she phases whether your in her terror radius or not. Prayer beads would then be changed to get rid of her phasing noise while within terror radius.

Actually the Spirit was first released with a bug that caused that and the phasing noise was directional. I was reading the forums from that time and everyone agreed that she was really weak and this was destroying the concept of the Killer.

    @Pokino said:

Spirit is a unfair and broken killer, but at least, two changes should be made to her base power. First, every tp should deplete the entire power bar, because if she fails a short tp, surv should have an oportunity to take distance, instead a free second chance for the killer almost inmediately. Two, 15 secons to complete a power bar seems a short time. 20 seconds, at least, would be fairer

While I was there I also noticed that before the buff she received, she had a 20 sec CD on her power. I guess people don't like when a killer gets buffed so they want all the changes reverted.

  • Apparently the Dedicated Servers that is running on PC are only for testing purposes and should be implemented in all platforms when the time comes (also they need the permission from both Sony and Microsoft)

  • I think it doesn't work because the add-ons apply properties only for healing with medkit. If it works then the healing speed ones would work also.

I'm feeling like the grammar on this is really wrong so sorry.

  • At least you guys have this option, on console there is no input for communication on the lobby.

I really have to wonder about the psyche of people making posts like "the killer should be feared" or such.

For me makes sense that a normal human being with mediocre skills in repair/healing fear some of the deadliest serial killers from the movies.

If I was one of the Survivors and knew that Michael Myers is in the forest with me I'd probably just cry on a corner and wait to die.

Sadly, BBQ has only shown up 1-3 times in the shrine ever. They should honestly fix that lol.

DS also appears very few times, some perks just are rare and having like 100+ perks on each doesn't help.

  • @Bravo0413 said:

I would like for the survivors to have to worry about more then just the killer.... more dangerous terrain, traps or maybe zombies from previous survivors that died in that realm....... like the entity's realm is supposed to be dangerous and right now it's not.....

Worry about Killer ? I don't see any danger when I see a Killer coming near me, neither does the Survivors I face. First the Killer should be feared then we can do such a thing.

  • @BirdmanOwO said:

I use my Iri shards for new (non-licensed) content. Sure, it takes 9k shards, but it saves money in the end. I've bought Clown and Spirit and have enough for the next Killer/Survivor when they come out.

I do this often (got Spirit and Plague from it) but certain killers I know that I wont ever play and get their perks like BBQ, Franklin's, Discordance and others.

  • I have a in going issue with PS4 trophies in general, did the 4 man hatch escape and got denied of the trophy, a couple of days ago I escaped using Bill (adept) and the game didn't register the achievement. On Dark Souls 3 I had experienced this as I had a Estus Flask +10 (the most you can get) and didn't get my trophy for upgrade the flask to maximum.

If that were the case then Nurse and Spirit should only be usable in red ranks.

I like your idea, let's expand on it. SWF are balanced around high rank Killers, make it only available to red ranks.

It would change accordingly. This idea has been made before, and another effect on iri head add-on would be that your movement speed doesn't ever change even with no hatchets. That was the universally agreed on method to implement this change.

A better idea (in my opinion) is change the effect of Iri head to cut the amount of hatchets but increase the movement speed, and the infantry belt would slow moderately the movement speed.

For all the bits of advice given here, some good, some meme worthy, sadly most of it really boils down to "just guess correctly." There are bits of advice that help skew things slightly more towards your favor, but at the end of the day you are just guessing, which is why most people hate playing against her.

Playing Killer it's just guessing for the majority of the time but I don't see people saying that its unfair, I actually see more people wanting to mind game than to just loop around one pallet and bloodlust 3 to hit a Survivor.

English isn't my first language so ... Sorry i guess.

  • Your example maybe not, but if two or more people use a map offering I think that only the used one should be consumed.

  • @TheRealHansGruber said:

    Its only ever been buffed.

I dont think theyll ever nerf it.

The only "buff" i saw was the tier 1 having exposed and that's all. If making the most point efficient role having to pay more was detrimental then I guess it was buffed.

Also, IIRC NoED wasn't even a hex perk in the beginning and that would count as a nerf on my books.

  • @Mookywolf said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/739065#Comment_739065

but if all 4 use it, then only one gen needs to be done. and considering survivor spawning, they'll finish that gen before the killer even gets to them. i'd say maybe instead of taking a gen away, it just reduces time needed to repair gens. still powerful but not absolutely ridiculous.

Your idea would probably be more abused if multiple people use it, also it could just not stack so bringing 4 won't do more than bringing 1.

I don't agree. Eblems are meaningless. The big picture is killing and surviving.

If you don't care about ranking or emblems, and also don't care about points (not exactly you, but I saw something like this here) and ONLY care about Killing/Surviving.

Why complain about NoED when the Killer uses a emblem and point hurting resource to Kill you ?

I don't care that it is common, I care that she's not getting nerfed while getting these buffs.

This is just a sneak peek so there's plenty of room for your "deserved" nerfs. Be patient and try to wait for the whole picture.

to all those that wants to make its game hide and seek, this game would be in 1% that popular if it wasnt for chases, mindgames/tricks during chases xd

if devs would want to kill this game for sure they would make stealth only viable strat xd

for 1st 600h i was playing stealthy but after that i had to let killer find me and not lose in chase because i was best in team when it comes to loop and using map resources so it was i will be chased for 2-3min and use like 4-5 pallets or random will drop die instantly (so killer would gain pressure) or waste 10 pallets in 1-2min (i have 1 clip on which in 30 sec 1 surv wasted 4 pallets and got down) xd (and no it wasnt rank 15, it was red rank)

someone told in 2016 it was meant to be stealthy game, 1st in 2016 devs didnt expect this game to grow that much, 2nd in 2016 ppl didnt know how to loop, 3rd in 2016 didnt had: Doc, bbq, discordance, whispers didnt worked and many other things (and solo surv can counter only bbq) soo yea

I agree with you on the Hide and Seek not being viable for the majority of the time and chases being the most fun part on the game, but saying that a solo survivor can only counter BBQ is being ignorant.

Here are some tips about the tools Killers got:

BBQ - Locker's, Hide aura behind Gen, keep within the 40 meters threshold.

Discordance - Solo Gen (I have been hit by some random Discordance some times and during the match I was able to tell the killer had it).

Doctor - Calm Spirit (not a real suggestion just have to throw this here) OR manage your Madness (you keep your progress on Madness when running or doing gens like exhaustion so try to walk once in a while to lower the Madness and you should be good).

Whispers - I agree this is one of the best tracking perks, but literally just do that so most people don't run it, I guess you at least get a warning by the TR (Stealth Killers not warning isn't a issue because that is their little gimmick).

  • On PS4 the players who appear on my lobby usually are from another country and have 300+ ping (who still ready like it was nothing). If there is a lot of items I just put Franklin's, if it's SWF depends on the mood usually switch to Trapper and try to manage the group but sometimes I really want to play something else and dodge the obvious SWF with matching characters, pings, time to get to lobby, or even names.

  • Maybe survivors have so much meta perks and they are so good that making a perk better it's just broken. Think about it, how can a new perk compete with rescue you from killer grasp stunning for 5 seconds, or healing one health state and sprinting for 5 seconds, maybe avoiding one hit and gaining distance.... Oh wait you already have it.

Next time you complain about don't getting a new perk better than this show how a perk would fit this meta without being too broken that demands a nerf (like MoM).

(English isn't my first language so I'd appreciate with you correct me on grammar).

  • I believe the Stacks are for the charge reduction.

  • @Just_Playing said:

You should think WHY are killer doging ???

I play on PS4 and according to OP him too, I always dodge a lot more lobbys when I am playing Killer because there's 3 people with red ping who hit ready so I dodge for a better lobby with better ping.

  • @HatCreature said:

This will hopefully happen less often when the Dedicated servers show up. In the mean time I would use Devour Hope, at least you won't get the DC in the beginning of the match and might get Survivors who think they can find the totem before you get the 5th stack.

I'd love to run Devour Hope and get a mori for my daily, but literally is a waste of a perk slot when survivors can still spawn on top of totem (while not on LoS), I had several games using DH and none could get at least to two stacks so I gave up and used a Yellow Mori and the first game I got it.
