Every time someone says "Why do we need Pennywise, we already have a clown?!?!" I die a little inside. But if you haven't seen the movies and dont know who Pennywise is it actually makes sense.

Pennywise is a shape shifting powerful demon that prefers taking the form of a clown to ######### with people....Clown is an obese serial killer with a finger fetish. Other than wearing clown makeup and killing people they have literally nothing in common and honestly the new Pennywise is more of a clownish demon than an actual clown.

Crazy how many non horror fans like this game

Side tangent; I got into this game because my friend who's a big horror fan. Haven't watched any horror movies since then, but im not a movie guy. I do like learning about all the characters lore though.

Yeah I’m enjoying it but frustrated as well, like when I started survivor. I also get a lot of dcs as hag but then will meme with who didn’t dc so everyone gets points.

Firstly, welcome fellow Hag main. She's challenging to master, but is very rewarding when played right. Also, as for hits, Hag, Freddy, and clown will often seem to get BS hits since their weapons are small visually but have the same range than other killers.

I play both sides, but haven't played for a while since my internet DC's me everytime, but that's besides the point. I think the reason you don't notice gens go as fast as survivor is because it's boring. Hold a better and press another every so often. Killer on the other hand has so much to do that the time seems to fly by fast. Not fast enough to avoid that DS, but pretty fast still.

You didn't reply. You provided no retorts. What you have done amounts to nothing but "nuh uh! not my fault!".

You refuse to take constructive feedback. THAT definitely sounds like a personal issue. So I'll say it again - get better. You had every opportunity and advantage to win that game and still failed.

I don't care much about OP; What I do care about is a Rank 19 going against a significantly higher rank. This isn't a "git gud" moment for them. It's a "Oh boy, I died 8 seconds into a chase". How do you get better at a game you just started playing when you instantly get stomped by a higher skilled player (especially one of the higher tier killers). It may be OPs fault he lost, but it's not the rank 19's fault he got dealt a ######### hand. A better Matchmaking is still needed, this one is shittier than before Dedicated Servers came out.

I play scratched mirror Myers on all the maps too (when I run out of good map offerings). My load out is usually, ruin, monitor, overcharge and pop (gen slow down and protection is key with slow myers)

I would say there is some games survivors stomp me. But most games I get 4 k. (Especially if you kill 2, slug the 3rd and hunt out 4th. )

I play on ps4. Usually rank 5-10 ish. Have been as high as 1 though.

It can be done. I dont know if survivors dont face it often ( had one say I was hacking and I'm reported cause he was hiding lol) or if they aren't discipline enough to just knock out gens but its far more successful a build then it maybe should be lol

Why do you use Monitor on him? Is it just for the FOV? His undetectable makes him have 0 Terror Radius.

  • If they added this change, at the very least, they would have to slow her down more while charging hatchets. (since they already do a bit)

Good Huntress and Hag players (I'm getting their with Hag) know when not to commit to a chase. It's basic killer knowledge, but it's something those two killers MUST learn in order to succeed often. This doesn't make them weak. Hell, an amazing Hag is probably the most challenging killer to play against. It just adds to their learning curve (Which is already a bit steep to be fair)

I'm rank 10-15 usually and play on xbox so you can imagine the killers aren't the best. Not terrible but not amazing. And I'm being serious when I say that sometimes people are losing and know this so just try and make excuses to get a kill

Remember that you're not the only survivor, nor the only one who saves. I play both sides, but technically main killer, and when someone accuses me of camping, its hard to figure out which of the 8 or so hooks they're speaking of, especially when the whole team is pretty altruistic.

That being said, I don't doubt some people use this as an excuse to camp, but it's probably people in a <1% minority and their behavior likely can't be changed.

Let's talk about the survivors that yell at you for camping end game, that makes you go from a 1K to a 2K+, just because they wanted to be altruistic and act like tough #########. The survivor that then tells you you're bad, despite their death/teammates being that players own fault. Once again, likely a <1% minority. (They may be seen more due to the 4 vs. 1 nature of the game)

  • @Walker said:

Pardon me if I'm wrong, but how has he changed at all in this respect?

Ever since his first rework his power, just like the Plague's, is supposed to assure just a first hit, and not a down. And, if you get lucky and survivors are somewhat close to each other, quickly spread some damage that means wasted time for them.

After the first hit, just like Plague, he's a regular M1 killer for the down and the sacrifices. That's really how he's been ever since first nerf. The only exception is when you have enduring and spirit fury (which I feel are musts on him) and you manage to get an injured survivor to (stupidly) stun you out of your power and ensure a quick down as well.

Yeah, except the Plague can apply her effect to objects, has no 4 second stun for her power, only a half a second cooldown for her vomit, can hit survivors at a range with her power, can see sick survivors better due to the green stuff they emit, they literally cannot heal, and when they cleanse, which has to be done in certain spots unlike Deep Wounds, she gains a super strong ranged beam of death.

Compare that to increased movement speed, the ability to vault pallets, and applying 12 seconds of pressure to a survivor after hitting them, the Plague is WAY better in almost every aspect. There's a reason she's a higher tier Killer and Legion is a lower tier Killer.

  • Relating to the actual discussion, yeah I don't get why people don't just play the game out. If you can beat it, go ahead and get the bloodpoints. Next game will likely be something different.

I never DC, except when I'm having an extremely bad day (i.e, multiple bad survivor games in a row with some bad killer games mixed in) and a mori appears. You best believe I'm going to alt f4 and stop playing for a night. It's the opposite problem, sure its not really less boring than usual, but its extremely hard to eacape from a half decent killer, let alone an experienced Killer with an Ebony, POP, Ruin, Etc.

  • @Stealthbomb95 Darn. It could be due to a lack of Survivors playing in your area, but one hour, or even 20 minute ques really shouldn't be a thing.

In no way am I defending a person that leaves the match.

The reason for the discussion is. Is it has become the "norm" for leaving the match as a Strategy. Sure, it is unrealistic. But this problem came about. Because it is the result of underlying causes. As I have posted, at the top of the page. Those are the common reasons to a rage-quit.

Is it appropriate, NO. But dynamics that have been added into the game have changed this title drastically enough. TO push the game into this negative vortex. I mean look at it this way. If I bought Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. N64 for console. If i Turned it on today (cartridge works of course) and started playing the game. WOuld it still be the same game? The answer is "YES". I could turn it on, play the game and still find my Deku shield at the Forest Shop and still fight Ganon the same way, every time. But with online games they shift. Usually for the better.. but for ONLY awhile.

We've reach that point, where the paradigm shift causes these problems and begins flushing out community members. But at the same time. A small game has to remain FRESH. Understable. However large changes carry MORE weight-of-impact than smaller ones.

However examples of UN-addressed changes can have the SAME, if not greater impact.

I just played a match an hour ago. I SLUGGED those survivvors to no avail. DO you really think that they will want to play a match AFTER that? NOPE. Probably not. I told them why I did it and even shared with them a link to this discussion. Sure, they did NOT disconnect. But did they want to "oh yes they did" and does it make an appealing game for them? Probably not now.

We can see this as a HORROR game where survivors have to claw their way, away from DEATH itself. But it doesn't feel like the rush knowing they are now stuck. The fact of the matter is. If they could pull themselves from the brink of Death, up again and get back into the game. Can you imagine how much more that would add to this game? I am not talking about the survivor that is toxic, gets right back up and continues again either.

I guess to sumarize this, End game Collapse NEEDS the first re-work all together and I would bank money on the fact that the other issues such as DC'ing would start to go away.

what is your proposal for endgame collapse? Actually curious, not trying to be a dick.

I don't like the borrowed time medkit addon. Seems like a pointless change to me. Brand new part should be gone. Ebony Mori should be changed to 2 or removed but two would probably still be a bit op.

Well, the problem is that with Green or Pink Mori's, you can get one person out of the game pretty early, which is quite massive. Pink just gurantees a 3k as long as the survivors aren't good.

I honestly think Moris should be on the last hook and give more bloodpoints than hooks do. That way, a Mori doesn't ruin a game early for survivors, while rewarding the killer with more BP. They could even buff Green moris to two survivors, ajd yellow to any survivir hooked twice.

The only problem I see with my proposal is survivors suiciding on second hook to deny BP, but the survivors would lose BP as well.

  • If you want to learn every Killer, there is a higher skill ceiling since you have to adapt to their playstyle, find out good perks and, as you said, that includes more challenging Killers like Nurse and Hag, especially Nurse since she plays almost completely different than other Killers.

  • The game is killer sided? Well, the last patch:

    - Nerfed the "best" killer and reworked their add-ons.

    - Gave a few killers undetectable, which only affects Alert, Dark Sense and Object of Obsession.

    - Buffed two survivor perks (Plunderers and detectives hunch)

    - Nerfed Insta Heals, yet buffed all medkits to heal others faster while reworking a few of their add-ons.

    - Gave Survivors new score events (Wiggle from killer grasp, fast vault in chase, pallet drop in chase)

The patch before that (Stranger Things release):

    - Buffed freddy w/ undetectable

    - Buffed a Survivor perk (Dark Sense) and reworked a survivor perk (left behind).

    - Reworked Dying Light (Since it promoted Tunneling)

    - New obsession based point events (for survivor)

The last two patches have been quite survivor sided, buffing three of their bad perks and reworking their worst (left behind), buffing their medkits to be 10-25% faster, reworking medkit add-ons for balance and giving them more bloodpoints.

A few killers got a miniscule buff (myers t1, pig crouching, GF in power and freddy while in dream). This counters 4 perks, but only when a variable is present (Asleep, Scratched Mirror, etc). Not only that, a perk was reworked (which isn't that bad, but it definitely isn't a good perk now) and the best killer was nerfed and reworked to be more survivor friendly.

Survivors also have more characters now, along with more perks.

As for Mori's, yeah, they need to be reworked along with keys. It's stupid having a way to end the game earlier than you should. I don't know how to completely balance a Iri Mori, but keys should take a bit to use while giving the killer a sound notification when they start using it. It should also close after 1 or 2 survivors use it. One item, offering, add-on or perk should not turn the game around so easily.

I did the crow challenge as killer on Autohaven wretched shack I think it's called, and there were literally 5 crows in the entire map and they were all on the edges of the map on rocks. I didn't realize devs ruined crows so bad, Spies from the Shadows is even worse than I realized.

I think with the archive missions you pretty much have to accept that you're most likely not going to live when doing them. If for example you have one where you have to get 3 great skillchecks with This is Not Happening, you pretty much have to equip No Mither and a toolbox with sabo skillchecks. That's how I got the challenge. I equipped "increased skillcheck on sabotage" addons for my toolbox and went around saboing hooks until I got 3 great skillchecks. With get 2 unhooks in one game, you're pretty much forced to either wait until you get a game where everyone's done their rifts, or run BT and unhook in the killer's face. If you're doing a difficult archive mission, don't worry about surviving, just finish the mission so you can get a better one next time.

Fun fact, the disturb 25 crows took me 4 games. I disturbed 19 on Hawkins, 0 on a corn field map, 3 in another game, and finally the last 2 in the last game. I don't know what happened because I felt like I'm always disturbing crows.

Lery's is really good for crows; They're all over the hallways. I completed the Crow challenge with that map alone after two games of 0 crows.

  • For Hag, her best add-ons are "reduced trap setting speed", "Increased TP distance" and the higher tier "Increased Phantasm duration". Her rare and very rare add-ons are basically all gimmicks and either require you playing her significantly different to gain the benefits, combo it with another specific add-on or are just plain terrible.

    TL;DR: Rework water-logged shoe.

I do this often (got Spirit and Plague from it) but certain killers I know that I wont ever play and get their perks like BBQ, Franklin's, Discordance and others.

Sadly, BBQ has only shown up 1-3 times in the shrine ever. They should honestly fix that lol.

  • Then DS should either deactivate if you hook another player, or if that player jumps into a locker. You're literally asking for a perk with a tiny bit of counterplay to have less counterplay.

  • I use my Iri shards for new (non-licensed) content. Sure, it takes 9k shards, but it saves money in the end. I've bought Clown and Spirit and have enough for the next Killer/Survivor when they come out.

  • @VexTheHex

Hag takes a long time to learn and master, which makes people think she's weak and not viable. I'm a Hag main, and I still haven't mastered her, but god do I love to play her (and do decently as her, and I don't even trap hooks). The other Killers can't shut down loop as quickly as Billy, Spirit or Nurse, which makes Killers who aren't experience say every other killer is bad.

If you look at great Killer Mains, like Otzdarva (The main one I watch), he plays every Killer at red ranks, and has his great games, and sometimes bad games. However, he can examine and explain why he did bad, which is usually a mistake on his part. Us killers need to know that just because you are in red ranks, doesn't mean you have skill. Rank in this game is partly skill, but also luck and putting time into the game.

With insta-heals getting nerfed, along with nurse, I feel the high tier meta will open up a bit for those that think only Spirit and Billy will be viable.

  • The hooks and Gens for the event give extra BP at the very least, but might also give more XP or whatever for the rift. @Purgatorian @Adeloo

  • There are so many good killer players who can play any killer at red ranks. Also, it's not like the ranking system is based solely on Skill; Luck and the amount of time you put in are a factor as well.

People who say "you need Nurse/Spirit/Billy in red ranks" probably aren't as skilled as they think. Yes, they help you get to Red ranks more quickly, but a good Killer player can play almost any Killer and do decent or better.

  • @DudeDelicious Yeah, but at the same time you're wasting your time trying to inflict Deep Wounds on another survivor. Generally, by the time you can run to another Survivor, the first one is done mending and is now getting back on gens. You prolonged the match slightly, but in the end you barely did anything to help you "win". Not only that, but if the Survivors Don't heal, now you're just a M1 killer who made the match go slightly longer.

TL;DR Legion prolongs matches, but doesn't really have a way to effectively use the extra time he gives himself. His power also becomes useless since most survivors won't heal against him.

  • I love using Object with Head on; with Object, you get them to come looking for you. If they pass by, you get to stun them and have a laugh. If they don't, you just made them waste time.

  • I've only been hooking twice (Once if their teammates don't go for the save), then attempting to farm. But yeah, Survivors keep DCing regardless.

Trying to use up my Puddings on Spirit, but obviously people don't like playing against her, so they DC.

Haven't played Survivor, but it doesn't sound like fun.

I'm just changing to Plague to use my Puddings, then I'm switching to Demo w/ Mad Grit to use up those puddings.

  • It doesn't really even matter if its balanced as long as it is custom games.

Even then, if Behavior put some work in to nerf the kills power when their are 2 killers (I.E. Hag has less traps, Legions killer instinct range is smaller, Freddys TP cooldown is longer, etc), it'd be a bit more balanced and still fun.

  • Removing the Killers ability to see survivor items/characters before the match would weaken them a decent amount. Seeing the characters let Killers anticipate perks, and items let us see if the survivors are going for a specific strategy. If a killer wasn't able to prepare, the survival rate would go up a decent number.

To everyone who dodges, you're immature and will never get good at the game until you stop doing so. You have 55 seconds to prepare, and a good killer uses that time to change their build; For SWF, Mori's (I don't use these due to my principals, but if its in the game, you can use it), Make your choice, Infectious Fright, BBQ, choosing even one of these perks can help against SWF, punishing altruism and giving you information on where others Survivors are.

Franklins literally counters items. Either bring it, or deal with the consequences.

    TL;DR

Killers not being able to see survivors is quite the nerf. With dedicated servers coming, you won't be able to tell if you're against SWF groups, which has more implications than just dodging. People who dodge are just immature, you know they'll just DC in game anyways, wasting even more of the Survivors time.

  • If I remember correctly, since the lunge distance is the same for all killers, some killers with smaller weapons (Hag, Pig, etc) will seem like they get unfair hits on you; It's not really a hitbox problem, but an animation problem.

However, Hitboxes could still use a little fix, just know that certain killers make the problem look worse than it is.

true but I have a difficult time finding my teammates so I take selfcare and I do not want to hear meg load moans

Some of us killers who use Sloppy/Thana religiously love self-care users; Either you throw the game by healing, or you have a dead perk!

Seriously, help your team out and use Bond; Not only will it help you find teammates to heal you, but it also:

    - Lets you find injured teammates nearby to heal

    - Helps you not lead the killer towards a teammate thats healing, working on a gen, etc.

    - Make decisions like "Should I stay on my gen, or go save the hooked person" better in some situations.

    TL;DR:

Bond has more uses than just finding teammates to heal you, making it much more useful than self-care.

  • I'ma simple man; If I didn't get to touch a generator, or a totem for a small amount of time, or I get mori'd 4 minutes into the game, you're getting some toxic #########. The thing is, I care for about 30 seconds, then decide to have fun with my anger, making a fool of myself and the Killer.

You also won't get a GG. I barely even got to play because you tunneled with a Mori, Idi Nahui

  • Head on really isn't a perk used to do anything other than mess with the killer; The only situation this perk actually comes in handy is in SWF, telling your teammate who's being chased "Run him by my locker" and using it then.

I understand why it's an exhaustion perk, that way you can't Head on, then sprint burst away (or any other exhaustion perk).

I understand why it takes time to activate, since it'd be a bit more powerful if it's 2 seconds.

I understand why the stun is short; DS stuns for 4 seconds, but is a 1 time use.

However, going back to my first point, this perk is used to annoy the Killer. I played Jane for a week just to mess with Killers. It needs something that will make it useful, while not totally messing with a killer if 1+ players have it.

However, making exhaustion timers decrease faster in lockers will turn this game into "Dwight Hiding Simulator". Decreased activation time to two seconds would make it too good, and increased stun time would make it an even bigger "Annoy the killer" perk.

    Ideas:

    - Reduce exhaustion timer. I won't say to what, its hard to tell whats balanced and whats not.

    - Make it so the survivor can run through the killer for either the whole animation or part of it. People use it for a while learn to run the other way, however there are some spots (The house with the basement generator on Badham, cough cough) Where Head on just traps you.

    TL;DR

Head on is a perk that only exists to annoy the killer (and waste a small amount of their time, I guess). The buffs proposed would either strengthen this fact, make head on too powerful or make survivors sit in lockers instead of doing objectives. Head on's exhaustion timer should be decreased (not removed), and the perk should let you run through the killer shortly after activation.

  • DBD players: Lets give more killers teleport abilities!

    Hag Players: *Unhappy mud noises*

Stop trying to give a bunch of killers the ability to teleport like this. I don't think Mint Rag should even really exist, but now people want to give another killer the ability to instantly teleport to people? That just feels broken.

Also, 25 seconds to snap out? Why? The main reason people hate going against Legion is because it takes a while to mend, which is unfun. HOWEVER, maybe if it was like this:

    - Snapping out of it slowly reduces your madness by X% every second.

For example, I can choose to snap out of it for let's say 8 seconds as an example, and get out of tier 3 madness. Another 8 seconds would bring me into tier 1. This way, you can choose to get out of tier 3, or go all the way to tier 0. It also means the doctor can't just find you snapping out of it and interrupt the action completely, keeping you in tier 3. However, Illusions would still appear while snapping out.

A larger shock would be a nice buff, as well as the ability to prevent pallet throwing and vaulting.

Maybe give his illusions a mini heartbeat. That way, he'd have a bit of stealth potential.

  • Maybe they could calm down that visual effect? The noise is alright, but when your vision is even just slightly impaired by it (Which it's more than slightly), now THAT is annoying.

No, works for all killers. Some might have it a bit more difficult than others, but that's it.

And please guys, stop naming those 3 killers in every post. There are other perfectly viable killers too, like the hag.

Where my Hag mains at? Those survivors be looking like some SNACKS.

  • @Zender In retrospect, that friend of mine gets mad easily.

The developer update they released recently talked about adding matchmaking based on average rank. However, I do kind of like your idea of subtracting from the average to balance it out a bit better.

  • @Zender The reason they don't do this is probably so if a really experienced player (like one in red ranks) introduces someone to the game, that new level 20 doesn't have to face a level 1-4 killer. That would likely drive away players. One of my friends were driven away by a level 18 doctor in his first game, so you can imagine how many people would refund it after playing against a high-ranked nurse or spirit.
