Hag can be strong when you don't proxycamp the hook as well. Set up a "web" of traps in an area and then you are in control. This is nothing new to what she was before 6.1.0-patch when basically every survivor ran BT.
Hag required map knowledge and time to set up a web.
Watch some videos from Michi (I believe that is their name on Youtube), a Hag-main. You can learn a lot frem those videos.

That's the thing though they don't want to punish all players that use Camping and Tunneling since it is a valid strat in certain situations, like End Game when theres nothing left but Killing survivors, getting the Boon player out asap to keep Boons from becoming a issue later etc. Basically anything at 1-2 gens left.
Toxic Camping and Tunneling is what needs to be punished but that's a slippery slope just like how can we improve SoloQ without making SWFs stronger.
Agreed. It's a fine line sometimes and very hard to go around.

As I said I don't escape games just the chases against Nurse mainly because of my team just giving up when they hear the first scream.
I don't normally record my games unless I sense there's a obvious cheater but I'll record some games next weekend (since this weekend I'm getting a tooth removed and I'll be out of commission lol).
Just as I said it takes time to get the skills to deal with Nurse and since there's a variety of skill levels of the players it can be hard to master but not impossible.
Cool, link some games if you have a good one :)
Good luck removing your tooth!

The sad part is they can't get better at dealing with Nurse if they DC all the time.
I have about a 60% escape rate against Nurse (that's escaping the chase not match), and I got there by
1. Trial and Error- I kept facing Nurses figuring out what works and what to avoid.
2. Playing as Nurse- I started playing her to see how her power reacts to the environment and how it works in general
Like getting better with Nurse players have to practice with her to grow thier skills, so does the skills to escape her comes with practice.
Would you be so kind to share some gameplay? There surely must be something to learn. I’ve watched tons of videos before from good streamers and really try to do learn but yet I have escaped 2 games against Nurse in 3 weeks. And that is about 30-40 games. For me it feels impossible.
I feel I learnt a lot from Uncharted’s video, but it is hard to bring knowledge to what you do in game.

100% bonus to survivor for me :) <3
-
Please remember that Hyperfocus + Stake Out takes up 2 perk slots. Yes, it might be strong (not always) but it also makes sure that the survivor can't bring other strong perks.
In the end of the day the meta will most likely get back to "normal" after a few weeks.
It is the same with every chapter, we heard it with:
- Power Struggle
- Deception
- Flashbang
- Blast Mine
- etc etc etc
These perks where supposed to be too oppressive and a lot of people cried for nerfs, yet now we mostly see them in meme builds.
-
These perks might be a little strong haha! Very nice ideas though.
Coward at Heart: I feel this should be an exhaustion perk. Maybe give a Sprint Burst after unhook and cause exhaustion? Would be cool to combine with BT and Guardian, and could be a good crutch perk in endgame.
Like Bran said above, those perks might be overkill..
I would like a perk that works like Lethal Pursuer for Killer, an extended aura read period for aura perks.
-
Yep, I would really like this as well. It will of course not bring solo up to SWF level but all info helps!
-
@Akumakaji said:
I would have opted for a token system, ie the perk starts with 3 tokens, you spend one each time you extend the timer and once they are all gone the perk deactivates. Thus a single survivor can only extend timers that much and when they focus on one survivor they will burn through their stack.
Completely agree! This would make the perk much more viable when you actually need it, and you would make sure the game would not be "held hostage".

Get better soon, whatever alles you. I hope you got soweit Empathie nurses, though and not the toxic ones.
Comment of the year 😂

It would make sense to bridge the gap between Solos and SWF. Especially because you would know stuff like the other Survivor having Discordance so that you know that you dont need to go for them if they are hooked and have the Perk active.
However, it would also increase the amount of Lobbydodging. Like, you see that this guy is doing his Adept David? Might be possible that many players will dodge. Or see that two Survivors in your team are running Self Care? Would you really stay in that Lobby, knowing that those two muppets will spend over half a Gen to heal themselves?
Would that really be a problem though? Isn’t the big problem with solo “useless” teammates? At least then you could somehow eliminate some sort of risk of playing with people you don’t want to.
I see more positives than negatives of seeing the other survivors perks. I would know that 2 is running kindred, maybe I should put Open Handed. Maybe someone is running a healing build, then maybe I should swap my medalist with a toolbox. This would reduce the gap between solo and swf by a small percentage.
I wish I also could see everyone’s ping, including the Killer.

We got 4K'd by a Spirit who didn't even use her power once last night lmao.

Im not talking about those. Those can be just deleted for what I care. I mean brown, yellow and maybe green add ons.
Playing her addonless and with yellow add ons is like night and day for me. She feels uncomfortable without any add ons, even the browns
Maybe because you are not 100% comfortable with her then. In the right hands Spirit is very strong without add ons.
-
No I'm out, my time is precious so I need to optimize it. I can max do 3-4 games a day anyway.
-
I experience almost no DC's in my games. The only times someone DC is because of bad connection or being tunneled/facecamped.

I limit my builds to two regression perks. Generally its a tracking perk, chase perk, regression, and a flex.
Pretty much always built my killers this way for years.
For instance, Deathslinger is Whispers, STBFL, Pain Res, and M&A.
Hillbilly is Discordance, Enduring, Pain Res, and Spirit Fury.
One tracking. One chase. One regression. One flex.
Those are great builds!
Have you tried Deathslinger with I'm all ears instead of Whispers?
-
If Prove Thyself is a problem for you and you want to counter it I recommend you to use Discordance, then you will know when 2 or more survivors are on the same gen.
-
@Murgleïs said:
I have the opposite experience. I stopped playing regression for full aura / lethality.
The new regression meta is boring, kicking gens is boring.
Deadlock, PR, Jolt does the job without kicking :D
-
Wow, I'm impressed with the work you have put into this. Well done!
I unfortunately don't have time to read it all now, but looked over some of it and this is very interesting.
The Hex perk seems very strong though and completely counters my build, I always run Bond since I'm solo q haha.
I hope others have more and better feedback than I have :)

@Gylfie said:
Doing gens is enjoyable to me because I'm not just sitting there holding a button. I'm sitting there looking around to see if the killer is coming and to see where I can run to if he does come. There's this constant suspense for me.
And it's a nice break from being chased because that makes my heart race every time and I need some time to calm down again.
I agree, there is more to it. Also looking for clues like what perks are the killer using, add-ons, perks of survivor teammates etc.
But I can't argue that playing survivor is a lot of M1 and having friends to play with is 100000000000 times better than solo :)
-
Yes I agree, the devs care for all players and wish for a healthy and balanced game.
It's incredibly hard to make with this abundance of RNG, maps, perks, powers, items etc.

I mean meme builds are fun but we are talking about how common it is for the killer to wait x seconds and then down you when there is an insane perk that gives you 80 seconds of endurance, 80 seconds of aura immunity and 80 seconds of silence for grunts. No one is gonna out wait that.
If the Killer hits you immediately after unhook then OTR Endurance will not even work. I can count on one hand how many times I've gotten value out of OTR.

I actually missed that.
Guardian is probably way better than BT now as a generic 1 slot perk for unhooking. Adds an extra 7% ms so the unhook survivor moves faster than the killer for 8 seconds and you get to see the aura of the killer for 8 seconds so you can intercept if they return.
That is actually pretty cool! 😄

You can check out the fan wiki, it is not official information but it is pretty much what you need for information.

But it is ONLY 5 seconds..

If all solo survivors starts to use this build, you will no longer win 50%+ of your games. It is not about your build, it is just you are selfish player. With this way, ofcourse you can win most of games.
100% this.

Oni is top5 most faced killers for me. Which I enjoy, I think Oni is a fairly balanced Killer.

You know the Hex gives 1500 bloodpoints right? I'm cleansing! :D

No way I miss that.

It’s the best high reward low effort playstyle there is. That’s why.

I believe my worst streak is maybe 13-14 games. But that is not regular of course.

Adding a casual mode won't do anything.
People will pick whatever mode has faster queue times, because the "rank" in this game means nothing. Yugioh Master Duel recently added a casual mode to the game and people are complaining they are facing meta decks in casual mode, because the act of being a casual mode doesn't stop people from tryharding.
Ye, that is probably what is going to happen anyway..
BTW Crow, I'm sorry I lashed out on you the other day in a camping-thread. Hope you can forgive me on that one <3

I think Doctor is fun to play, his basekit is perfect to find survivors and his shocks can be fun to use in chases. I hate roaming the map and not find anyone, that's not a problem with Carter. He is, after all, an M1 killer with no map mobility so he needs to find his victims quick and get to chase.

I don't think the game is in a terrible spot in terms of gameplay, although I do think solo queue is in a bad state. Lack of baseline information/comms was fine when the game released and killers were hot garbage, but players are better now and killers are a lot stronger.
The biggest issue with the game to me right now is matchmaking and the single queue. Playstyle and builds are a massive factor in determining outcomes in DbD. MMR alone doesn't do enough to sort that, and the matchmaking range often feels way too wide.
I often end games at 3-4 gens on Ghostface with brown add ons. If you are a top level killer and play with a competitive mindset, you will not be remotely challenged in the vast majority of games. And then I'll randomly get one good team every two or three days that 4 outs me. But on the flip side, even a very good solo survivor player will be matched with teammates who have no idea what they're doing or are just goofing around, and that's insanely frustrating if you approach survivor competitively.
And I know there's hesitancy about ranked mode because of population, but players aren't going to be attracted to a mode that doesn't exist. People aren't going to show up to a restaurant and order things that aren't on the menu in the first place.
I've been thinking a lot about a ranked game mode and casual game mode recently. I know there a lot of concerns about this like longer queue and a player base not big enough to support 2 game modes. But I believe some part of the "problem" with this game is that it can't separate players who wants to play competitively and players who just want to chill.
I have no business going against a alchemist ring Blight or double ranged Nurse, yet I see them quite often..

Are you really complaining about easy challenges ? 🤣
I know you are trying to be funny but try to wrap your head around that everyone is not as experienced or good as you are. With the long Killer queue this games basically throws everyone with everyone. Some (especially) solo q survivors can go on a very long and unlucky streak of deaths which makes these challenges very longlasting. I had a losing streak of 12 games over 2 days the other week haha :(
That being said, it is a master challenge and it should be difficult so I personally have no problem with it.

technically lightborn is a counter, but then again, i shouldn't be forced to waste a slot just for that issue (which seems more a unintended bug marked as "tech" rather than a valid gameplay mechanic)
Yes, a counter for such gameplay should take up a slot. Just like counter for tunneling needs to take up at least one slot for survivor.
-
@BrokenSouI said:
Honostly. A skill issue a little. Either your team mates didnt do gens for some reason. Or you didnt run them long enough(sometimes easier said then done) I had a killer tunnel me last night. A BT hit later. They finally caught me for the 3rd time when gates were 99d. They paid for a tunnel with 3 hooks, and a whole 1 kill. Jokes on them. I got the fun part of the game. Which was being chased.
You didn't see the game how can you conclude this was a skill issue? A lot of random things happens in games that have nothing to with skill. I've seen Ayrun die with 3 gens left as well, that happens. Skill issue there as well?
-
Yes, SWF groups could really do damage to the Killer strategy with this indeed. Solo could be hard but doable as well.
Can you link me your aggregate site? :)
-
Escaping through hatch will not do anything to your MMR, it will count as a "tie".

After 10 minutes of survivors doing nothing I think maybe the entity should make the survivors scream and reveal their locations for 3 seconds.
I think this is the best suggestion I've read so far. Although 10 minutes without doing anything is a bit too much maybe?

It's a way to bully new/low skill killers. Sure the killer could of done better but the reality was they didn't. I equate it to the double locker with flashlights. As long as the survivors know how to time the save, you have no choice but to leave them or keep trying until they mess up or run out of charges.
I see it as a tool to deal with bullying killers more than to bully killers. If a survivor is stuck on hook like they tried in the video then that is really the survivor being bullied, not the killer. The killer will manage to injure and eventually down the survivors coming back to hook if they want to.
-
I don't have time to watch a lot of streamers unfortunately, but in my case yesterday I played 6 games and faced 3 Nurses. Do I have to tell you how the 3 games ended? :P

Sure.
But in return, when I play killer I get to veto 3 maps.
Fine?
I think that’s a fair trade tbh

I can get behind this, those Boon spots are very powerful. The second floor in Erie of Crows as well, that spot is too OP.

Yes, one of the very few times I ran Self Care I ran up to open a gate that was 99%, killer was breathing down my neck. Instead of opening the gate I started to heal myself. Of course I ended up on a hook. Never ran the perk again.
LMAO The same happened to me as well once. I couldn't anything but laugh.

I don’t see anything wrong. She is buying addons and offering with BP and you guys DC. She has to get her money back somehow.
You are so entitled you think you deserve a free win because survivors DC. Blame your teamates not the nurse.
Who blamed the Nurse for killing the player anyway? It was not OP that DC'd, they suffered just as much as the Nurse. Nurses immaturity towards the innocent player is what weird.

I don't know what I feel reading this. So many good people here having a miserable time. I'm happy I am not alone but I really hope everyone can get their fun back to the game we all love <3
