  • It would be bad enough with just the difficuty of movement but it also hides the closest hook aura AND gives wiggle progress after the tiniest of drops. I've lost count of the number of Kates I have lost because Boil Over throws me across the shack as I make my way to the stairs.

Boil Over users have the cheek to ask me in chat why I hit them on the hook too!

  • 1) No idea

    2) Mori them, don't sacrifice them. This achievement is working.

    3) That map is disabled for now because of a vaulting bug.

  • There are some parts of some maps that I just get lost. I'd love to be 100% confident that I know where the entrance to the basement is in the main building of Grim Panties and Disturbed Ward.

  • How does the fast wiggle specifically affect controller? I also get juked by this but simply put it down to my reflexes. Can it be remediated by waiting out the wiggle?

this is intended behavior. Otherwise sound would be permanent wall hack for both sides (so no mindgames)

I remember a bug no that long ago that broke chase music. I remember a game where I lost heard a tippy tap, tippy tap, rustle, rustle behind me in the old Haddonfield, I turned around and swumg into a bush and hit a Claudette. I really wish that bug would return!

  • Yes but the person that plays it should be made the obsession so the killer knows who doesn't want them to have extra bloospoints.

  • The multiple versions of Springfield did not make that map more likely so I wonder if this is just the new map priority.

  • People have being suggesting a Knight for such a long time. Instabuy from me! Glad it is nothing to do with For Honour as having a Knight as a license would be silly. For Honour/Evil Dead could be good for paid cosmetics though.

  • The end game chat usually is positive, chatting to the streamer you just versed is also usually positive. Unfortunately we tend to remember the negative ones. They are not the norm.

More importantly, I believe Zanshin Tactics is one of the best perks to use on Pyramid Head. Leave dropped pallets and if you chase a survivor there, you know they will vault it before they do.

So lets brainstorm some more ;D

    1) as the hag you can also facecamp by proxy. Just plonk down a trap at the hooked survivors feet.

    2) some survivors know the trick of crouching through your traps, but a surprising amoung of survivors will click to unhook the moment they see the prompt, letting them blink the last 0,5m and activate your trap

    3) always have Franklins equipped. Together with blood and bones, your special hook will also accumulate an impressive collection of toolboxes and medkits and, shortly after, survivor tears

    4) if you hit them a bit away from the hook, just mark their items. The little goblins will be back in no time for their items, and then its hooking time again

As you can see Gramma knows some really spicy BBQ recipes. Try them out on your next proxy camping session.

When facecamping, so that the survivor knows you haven't gone AFK, try nodding happily at them. If you see a survivor coming to investgate, nod happily at them too. Survivors appreciate you letting them know that you are still there and will probably thank you in the end game chat.

  • If you just take a hot dog, prepare it as you would like it normally and then add lots of sweetcorn, it is much better than an actual corn dog (in my opinion)

They also sometimes sell them at Asda. I bought them once and but they are not nearly as good as the ones you can get in that country next to Canada.

    Aku's tips for facecamping:

its fun staring the hooked survivor in the eye, but it gets boring fast. Your attention will waver and you might not notice a cheeky rescuer, so stay attuned to your surrounding

ideally you want to camp a corner hook or a hill, in order to minimise the venue of approach

slowly panning your view looks professional, but is easy to predict and survivors can just sneak up to you. Look around in janky, erratic bursts and you will catch a surprising ammount of survivors with their pants down

double iri addons are fun for the situations when the survivors try to overwhelm your chainsaw with a well-orchestrated wave of survivors, styptics and DHs. Mow 'em down like grass!

the basement warrants special attention. For one its like super safe/dangerous and will secure a kill, but on the other hand it will deterre survivors from paying you a visit. Bonus points: by chosing the back-hook you can look your survivor friend in the eyes and still scan the suroundings

when they manage to unhook, just focus on the unhooked survivor. Your chainsaw will tear through the basekit BT like wet toilet paper and you can down them in no time again

You wanna try camping without Bubba? But why would you do that? Bubba loves camping :> uwu

Thats all for now, folks! Happy camping!

I also was disappointed with the contents of this post after reading the interesting title.

That works on a premise, that killer has 50% killrate against solo players. IF that was true, I would agree. But the fact is, that killers have 59% on average kill rate against EVERYONE - SWF included. Also there were stats that max difference between solo and 4-man SWF in some special bracket (so this is not average and can't really be compared) was somewhere around I think 13% (this might be unprecise, I can't find it) and is usually much smaller. All in all even in this maximal case against average it would still be 46% kill rate - when realistically the number will be even smaller.

50% means game is balanced and more about your skill. You as a killer mostly win. It's 61% kill rate in high MMR (so yes 2% more then average). This basically means, that game is MUCH more balanced when it's SWF against killer then when it's solo against killer. So if we really talk about disabling SWF, we should also substantially nerf all killers

I'd love to see a breakdown of the 59% win rate. I want to see where the 3 and 4-person SWFs are. Are they the ones that are getting the bulk of the 41% of the wins? I mean if the MMR works properly then it would make sense that they would because as far as we know the game does not alter the algorithm to take any SWF advantage into account.

I'm a little suspicious of the 13%ish advantage for 4-person SWFs over 4 solos. From a personal perspective admittedly, I get a much higher escape rate even in a 2-person SWF (although that might just suggest I am being carried!)

  • @Beolthar said:

It seems like every other match is against SWFs. I'm an average killer and I would prefer not to play against SWFs as comms give them an unfair advantage IMO. Is there any plan to implement a setting that I could turn on or off that would prevent me from being matched against SWFs?

You say you are an average killer, then I would expect you to lose when playing against a 3 or 4 person SWF.

Assuming you are matched with solo survivors that are the same MMR as you, you should probably average 2 kills per game. The problem is that if they are SWF then they will be at your level and then given the extra advantage of comms as matchmaking is based on the average MMR.

Even if you improve somewhat, so will the level of your opponents so you will be no better off.

I think the best solution is to for the devs to tweak matchmaking based on the number of members of the team. Four 1600 MMR survivors in a SWF probably shouldn't be matched against a 1600 MMR killer..

    It's about training.

And bots don't rage-quit and don't cry when you slug them for a minute.

    Devs pls fix!

  • Ade due Damballa. Give me this chapter I beg of you!

  • I'm on controller and my accuracy is nowhere near as good as it should be with the amount of hours I have. The biggest problem I find is how I react to a miss I should have got, If I stay calm I should be okay, but if I miss a second time, that's it my game is done. I then won't even be able to hit a Jeff running in a straight line.

Fortunately, when I do manage to down someone, I can practice my swings by repeatedly hitting them on the hook until they get sacrificed.

I’m having to click on the challenge to undo it then click on it again to continue doing it. If I don’t it doesn’t gain progress.

Thanks, that works for me too.

Facts. It's honestly not that difficult to get very high win rate as killer.

I am sure you have to play sweaty killers with sweaty builds (and to be honest, that's fine) to get around 99% kill rate. But have you tracked your games and checked that this is accurate? You can get a really rough dice roll and get a couple of games against top tier SWFs on a bad map with very bad pallet RNG.

You and whoever you play really should commit to record and posting the game(s).

Best of luck, I hope you win!

  • I'm not sure I am ready to forgive Konami for tricking me into buying Silent Hill Homecoming when they didn't have an option for inverted controls.

  • Devour Hope: A free win because my team of solos couldn't find a totem. Has no effect on SWFs who will find it within seconds.

Boil Over. A perk designed to punish people just because they use a controller. Nobody who plays using mouse and keyboard will understand.

  • As killer, you will probably beat uncoordinated solo survivors that are at your skill level so if the MMR is working properly, it will stop giving you those and match you with higher skilled solos and average or better SWFs.

As a solo survivor you probably die in more that 50% of your matches. This keeps dropping your MMR until you get to "MMR Hell" where your teammates are a combination of new, bad and others like you that are also stuck in MMR Hell.

  • Yes. If not that, then let us equip perks so we can bring Residual Manifest and rummage in a chest for one.

  • It is not uncommon for a three person SWF to do everything in their power to make sure you get killed. But just like 4 man bully squads, they are the exception and just like killers have to do, it is best to accept that you will have to face these teams sometimes, fortunately it won't be very often.

  • PC is much darker than on console. You can't see anything in a lot of the maps without switching filters on

Quite often on a modest PC the frame rate drops so you can easily miss skill checks. Frame rate is constant on console.

On PC you can adjust your dead zones to make the controller more responsive

  • I used to like it when bald dwights would run to rescue from the hook looking straight up.

I don't know why it was always bald dwights but they always made me laugh.

  • Too hard for Solos

    Too easy for SWFs

    Just right for killers

  • @Lynxx said:

I build on a theme around each survivor I play - same with killer too I guess.

But generally - OTR (must have), Iron Will (still helps, survivors are ungodly loud), and exhaustion perk, and Distortion (or Kindred)

I do this too and I thinks it keeps the different survivors interesting. If I have to a daily with Yui I make sure I have Any Means Necessary, if I have a killer blind rift mission I choose Claire and bring Blast Mine etc.

I have also replaced BBQ on most killers with something from their own teachables since it feels like a free slot now the bonus bloodpoints has gone.

  • When I first started out I didn't think I was supposed to escape much as a survivor and the first time I did it felt amazing. Feeling powerful when I started getting to grips with killer also kept me interested. I actually like this new player balance but I would hope new survivors don't get put off because they feel they've lost just because they didn't escape.

  • I do think it is interesting to see how a survivor I have judged as being useless can loop. Often I am pleasantly surprised to find them playing well after my demise

  • @Sava18 said:

I know I'm in the minority here but I want to chase people not spend 5 minutes looking for a survivor. That's would just be boring

The fog was more about atmosphere than hiding, it used to sit low on the floor and actually did look really good and I don't think YouTube does it justice. In the earlier days it was a huge problem when survivors would dress in very dark clothes and hide in dark corners, I don't ever remember it being a problem where you couldn't see someone because of the fog.

  • It feels like the original point of this post was about whether DBD is considering the horror theme any more.

I think the The Grave of Glendale would be much spookier at night, and the original Coldwind Farm had an atmosphere I felt was much more appropriate for a horror themed action game. The Forsaken Boneyard sounds like an amazing name for a realm - It makes me thing of an eerie cemetary.

I do think they should remember that the game is still horror themed and consider than when deciding whether something should be lit with spooky moonlight or the glaring sun.

  • Sometimes the prestige levels at the end don't match what they were in the lobby.

Fortunately they are correct in the lobby so I know who to tunnel.

  • I'll be hammering the F5 key on the Playstation store for a full hour after the release until it shows up. As always.

  • Not a full rework but needs a good look-at.

Dream Pallets would be better as the default because they are weaker, but more fun. It makes no sense to bring an offering to make his power weaker.

His addons are terrible. Louder footsteps etc. They don't have to be spectacular, extra puddles/pallets etc. Right now its so difficult to actually pick anything useful.

Also needs a Robert Englund Freddy skin.

  • My theory is that now that killers have been buffed a little (hurray!) you are losing more games as a solo survivor than you used to. That drops your MMR closer to where the less experienced players are so those are who you are matched with. If you die more than you escape, your MMR will an average keep going down.

  • @kizuati said:

I've got nothing at all,I think. It was hilarious enough they said it's a "GHOST MONTH" event only for it to be a week long.

Now the daily rewards are just broken. Lmao.

Ghost month lasts one week and gives you a reward for one day!

  • This is a good idea, but I am kind of okay with KILLERS dodging lobbies they don't like the look of. I've seen streamers dodge lobbies because they want to avoid solos which is refreshing. Also new players probably SHOULD dodge TTVs, multiple flashlights and lobbies where everyone is a Nea with Toxic in their name. But I'm sure some survivors dodge lobbies just because they see a presige 0 Yoichi. Most Yoichis are presige 0!

    Prestige 0 Megs fair enough.

  • I used to feel cheated out of chases so much. Now when people use an exhaustion perk against me (including dead hard) it feels fair.

On survivor, although I don't use dead hard now, I feel liberated. I don't feel I have to use an exhaustion perk at all. Before, Dead Hard was cemented into one of my perk slots for every survivor, because if you didn't use it, you are putting yourself at a huge disadvantage.

A great change, and I don't care what people say, I LOVE the animation!

  • I've wondered that too! I still associate the Clown chapter music with Kate and the survivor music is my least favourite flavour of all the DBD themes. It would be a also be a small incentive to those that bought a Titans cosmetic if they got the current main menu music for them too. It will be lost forever soon.

  • I sometimes select that challenge and completely ignore the pustula plant. Mainly to confuse people, but also because they sound so squidgy!

  • There is also atmosphere to consider too. Unfortunately those with the best atmosphere have been lost to us now. The sounds in Hawkins were eerie and gave me the chills. The lighting in some of the older maps before they were reworked was also really absorbing.

I also like getting lost in RPD. I hope they don't do anything dumb like cut it in half or anything.

  • @Seraphor said:

The issue isn't camera sensitivity, it's joystick deadzones, and it's as much of a problem on PS as well, and just as it's a pain for flashlights, it also makes ranged killers virtually unplayable. You try to aim at a survivor, but every movement of your thumb massively overshoots your target, forcing you to repeatedly correct your aim, wasting absolute shitloads of time.

Most games have a gradual zone where sensitivity increases from 'dead' to... whatever you've set as your max sensitivity. This allows you to have finer control over your camera movement. DBD has nothing like that, it's on or off, nothing in between.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/BVH3FOJLUY7B/deadzones.png

E.g. by changing your camera sensitivity settings, all you're doing is changing the colour of that circle. Without deadzone settings, its still just a solid colour.

Another interesting thing: You see the black circle around the graphic you made on the right? That is the point you have to push the controller to run (even though there is a run button). As your controller wears out, it will struggle to hit that line and you end up running slightly slower than people playing on new controllers and KB/mouse.

The amount of times I've had to "race" my team-mates just to see if my controller needed replacing is quick shocking.

  • Since it is relatively easy for PC players to add a crosshair (and I'm convinced most Huntress mains probably do), it would help level the playing field for those unfortunate souls who not only don't have the option of a crosshair, but are also trying to line up survivors using a controller.
