I'd rather have a reason NOT to run Ruin. I've so few variations in builds.
-
I have never equipped one. I don't think I ever will unless there is one of Matthieu's face. I love the selection of clothing cosmetics, but the charms don't really fit the game for me.
And everyone has the same boring charms.
-
I was playing Wraith and somehow couldn't make that crow counter move from zero.
THEN I realised!
-
It's a shame you can't power the gens by running around a small object for two minutes while being chased by a killer.
-
I base my performance on how many bloodpoints I earn because the pipping system is stupid. I usually find myself twice as effective with BBQ.
For some reason.

The gameplay around the hatch would be a lot more relaxed if there wouldn't be such a big difference point-wise between a 3k and 4k.
Is there? I've been deliberately letting the last survivor go during double bloodpoints.
And then getting hit with "ez noob killer".

NOED is fine. It punishes the Survivors for not cleansing totems, which by the way, are worth 1000 points now.
But you need to have some idea of whether they have already been cleansed or not. If your teammate unknowingly completes a gen that is next to ruin, are the other survivors going to check that spot? Also the one person that cleansed 4 totems can still be hit with it.
There is potentially a lot of wasted time looking for a totem that has already been cleansed, when there might not even be a noed.
-
If someone DCs because they believe they are being tunnelled, they should be able to do it but should suffer a few minutes where they cannot play. Making it count towards a permanent ban is silly.
-
Twice in a row I had four people DC because I played an offering so that all 4 survivors start separated.
-
Maybe its because Hillbillies struggle to pip because of all the 1 shot down, 1 hook kills they get? They are all stuck in yellow ranks destroying all the newbies and getting black pips every game.
-
NoEd is only fine if you are SWF. The worst thing is people that use the "Just do totems" line. People who say that are SWF players. Solo players will run around looking for the 5th totem after it has already been cleansed. As other solo players have said many times, it needs a totem counter for solos.
-
The proliferation of DCs I have encountered recently suggests that DCs are "allowed". I know the devs might prefer that they didn't happen but players clearly have to cross a very high threshold to earn a ban. Progressive ban lengths will only affect the most frequent disconnectors.
We need time-outs to discourage casual rage-quitting far more than we need permanent bans for a tiny minority of players.
-
Solos are the Legions and Clowns of the survivor world and buffing them would not be a bad thing,
-
It doesn't improve as you rank up. As soon as you hit rank 10, you regularly get to play against 3 and 4-man red rank SWFs!
-
It's very disappointing that the pipe doesn't clonk. If you want me to spend 400AC on it, it needs to clonk.

One not very elegant but easy way to fix these challenges (if the devs have the desire to) is to remove the "in a single trial" requirement and pump up the numbers. It's going to be insane when people start to try to complete these challenges in their current form and other players start sabotaging their efforts. There's too much potential for griefing on top of the difficulty.
I like that idea a lot. Part of the reasoning behind the rift is to encourage people to play more. I'll soon get frustrated when I can't manage a second flashlight save in the same match and will end up giving up. Ask me to perform a few more flashlight saves but in as many matches as it takes me will give me motivation to play without the discouragement caused by failure.
-
Hmm,
Cut Coin - Prevent the appearance of 2 chests.
I have many of these. Now, when shall I use them?
-
Since we have Ash, we should have an Army of Darkness skeleton.

Update is in 5 hours and 30 minutes.
Thank you. Time to get excited!

The banner says it is released tomorrow. Is it still yesterday in Canada?
(Made sense in my head)

Do you really want to leave the last survivor to do two gens alone or hide until found again? We’ve been here before. It’s that or waste 30+ plus minutes looking/ waiting for them to get to three. So might escape through hatch , but also forced on a timer. As a survivor it was ridiculous having to work down gens alone and evade the killer simultaneously to be able to have the opportunity to get hatch. Or even the staring contests. I much prefer this new implementation to the former.
Yes the hatch mechanic was horrible before. Killers just have to get out of the mindset of considering 3K + hatch escape as a defeat. It would be nice if the emblem system didn't reward slugging for the 4K though.
-
As a survivor after rank reset:
- if I don't rank up quickly enough, I end up losing because of bad teammates.
- If I rank up too quickly, my teammates end up losing because of bad me.
I walk a very fine line, but those are the reasons why I care about rank.
-
They said the event was tied to the rift, and then said they were moving the event to the same time as the rift/update as if it wasn't already tied to it. If it wasn't tied to the rift they could have released it before Halloween.
They tried to do too much in one go. It should have been: Release the event, then the rift, then the Unreal Engine update, then fix the framerate and sound that will inevitably be broken because of the Unreal Engine update.

but you are rewarded, simply doing anything will give you more bp than watching someone die on a hook. i did a test on this in red ranks were i just camped as the wraith, hag, and leatherface for 3 games each and the most bp i ever got was 28k because they just kept running in for the save and getting hit/downed. worth noting that i also never double pipped i mostly either got a black pip or just barely pipped if the survivors were greedy enough.
You got 28k for camping? I need to take back my previous comment. And maybe start camping!

Guess il go with bubba
Tiers
Top : charge addons / speed addons
Bottom : rest of his addons (chilli addons still dont work to this day and i tested with a friend)
I want my bubba to get some attention, he arrived before freddy : (
I did not know this! Hopefully the devs will deal with this when they look at his and Billy's addons.

I love some of the subtle interactions with the other side. I saw a Jane in a bright red and white stripey top trying to hide behind a twig. I walked up to her, looked down and shook my head. She slowly turned round to face me and then looked straight up at me, still crouching next to her foliage, "Please don't kill me nice hag".
And then I bashed her skull in.

^This. Being dumb or just goofing around with your friends is so much more fun than actually trying.
Four Dwights dressed in pink each equipped with a flashlight? All five of us are getting a fun game!
Four P3 Claudettes with toolkits? I'm going to be crying in the corner at the end.

It is frustrating that what we can see for ourselves in matches is so flippantly dismissed.
I have destroyed SWF who were arguing amongst themselves, but when SWF are cooperating and efficiently taking on different roles, it makes the killer role so much more difficult.
I know it is not going away but I really wish killers got BP bonuses for the trouble and that we had some kind of indication at the end of the match as to how many players were SWF.
Unfortunately someone always manages to pull out a stat that "proves" that clearly OP killers or perks are fine and clearly broken maps or game mechanics are fine. Playing the game tells us far more about what needs addressing than some carefully manipulated stats ever will.

No, but only pointing out advantages like that makes up for skill or compromising a match to try to keep a buddy alive in situations you know are highly likely to spiral. More like reality, the full picture and not just the pieces you choose to leave out ,or have no knowledge of Bc you only see through killer perspective. Idk your playstyle honestly, and won’t assume.Coms swf Isn’t as big as an issue as people make it out to be and that advantage isn’t big enough to warrant any kind of change about it. 7% survival difference, and that was 30% last year before all the balancing changes. So I mean if swf was that big of an issue on a grand scale (knowing most play with coms) that number would be more like 50%^
I try to be balanced. I do sometimes play as a filthy survivor.
-
Camping is punshed (sort of). You lose emblem points for staying close to the hooked survivor and because you tend to one hook those that you kill, you don't get many bloodpoints either.
-
Damn, how I wish Sony had lower standards.

The event was never specified as a "Halloween event", but just Withering Blight
We called it a halloween event so this can start whenever
I hope devs at least photoshop the pumpkins to look like Thanksgiving turkeys or Christmas Puddings!

I don’t use either of those I run wglf , prove thyself, distortion, and iron will or a healing perk as solo, and I can say still not that big of a difference on my escape to death ratio. I have no need for bt since I don’t go for unsafe saves as a solo.
on Swf same but wglf turns into borrowed time Bc now I have to risk myself since that’s my bud on comm and I want them to live longer even if it’s a game changer. I’m coming for you buddy in the basement against hag!!! Oh what’s that you got a 4K Bc we’re swf, when that wouldn’t of worked against competent solos once they read you?
Honestly get a grip it has major rewards for killers too. It has advantages and disadvantages. Then majority that actually favors killers Bc actual swat swf are few and far between.
You want me to "get a grip" for suggesting that being able to tell people to stay on gens is an advantage?
-
If you go on to Twitch and sort by popularity, DBD is surprisingly always quite high up the list (considering its age). It shows that there is still plenty of interest in it.
It helps that it is so unique Online - FPS games will come and go but nobody has come up with anything that can challenge DBD in whatever genre it would sit in.
-
"Daddy, why are we going trick or treating on Christmas Eve?"
"BHVR have moved Halloween. Now shut up and knock on that door!"
-
The biggest advantage is simple things like, "I'll do the rescue, everyone else stay on gens". A solo can achieve this using Bond or Kindred but its a perk slot used that could be used for something else.
-
The answer is: Pig
- Neither OP nor trash so can be enjoyed by both sides
- Not overused, nobody has ever said, "Oh no, not pig again!"
- Licensed but still has cosmetics
- Can befriend via booping of the snoot
- Has unique drill sound
- The original teabagging killer
- Pig dash at blind loops is fun
- The only killer to provide free party hats.
- Sometimes pretends to be a survivor
- Pallet squeak
-
In solo games you will often be on the hook and can see the auras of your teammates doing nothing. They don't know who is going the save or where the killer is.
Even if you are goofing around, in an SWF only 1 person will go for that save, nobody else will just be crouching.
The efficiency of communications give you should not be dismissed. I don't care what the official stats say, we can all see the huge difference it makes.
-
I'm buying the first one straight away. Knowing that I have to make more flashlight saves in a single match than I have managed in an entire year is slightly offputting though.
-
I'm struggling with Nurse and Plague. If it was to just get a merciless win with any perks, or to get 4 kills with only their teachables I would have had them both by now.
Changing the trophies to match their description was a mistake. They should have just changed the trophy descriptions to "Achieve the no-one escaped scoring event using only their Unique Perks" It was still a good challenge with the old system.
-
Bacon
-
I prefer survivors to use perks that are rubbish.
-
- 4 person SWF: Ebony
- Someone holding a key: Green Mori
- I've literally no other offerings: Yellow Mori
- Solos: No Mori, even if I have a daily
Also none of this only using your Mori when their on death hook nonsense! Use them asap!
This should be in the killer handbook.
-
There is a 3-year old bug that sometimes mis-reports your rank by one rank. Sometimes it might say you are rank 10 in the top-right in the corner of your screen but on the tally it might say rank 9 if you won or rank 11 if you lost. Other people see this mis-rank, rather than your real one.
-
Can killers please stop tunneling the Mathieus!
-
Red ranks survivors love Ruin because they have no problem with great skill checks, but for everyone else it's awful.
Searching for Ruin is boring, having to hit great skill checks is frustrating, defending your ruin totem is boring, having to waste a slot on ruin to stand a fair chance of winning is annoying and limits variation, and then you often lose it after 30 seconds anyway. Unfortunately no other perk can replace Ruin effectively. That is why it is so popular.
-
It's fair, but a killer should not lose out on a pip just because someone got the hatch. It encourages anti-fun slugging.
-
Interesting to see some survivor mains picking killer forum avatars! They are spies!
Looking at you @GrootDude
-
Hex perks are already broken. This would make it a gamble for the survivor potentially wasting an entire perk slot when the killer might not be running a hex perk.
Risk vs Reward.
-
@Mochan I feel that about Wraith. When I play AS wraith, I usually lose. When I play against Wraith I get tunnelled to death and usually lose.
So basically, if anybody in the game is a Wraith, I lose.
