  • I love these changes - addressed the two main issues I had with the PTB (altruism and Billy's engravings). Appreciate BHVR acting on the feedback so soon.

  • As a huge RE fan, Birkin is the better choice imo - he has a detailed model, he has his own entire voice lines/sound effects, etc. I've bought HUNK and it's great playing such an iconic member of the series, but he lacks the polish and quality of Birkin Blight.

  • It's always been 15% so yes - they've given it a small compensation buff if that's not a mistake.

  • Assuming BHVR haven't changed their composer, it's Michel F April

  • image.png

The heart beat is optional as an accessibility setting.

You can also still pick and choose and take your time in the bloodweb - that hasn't changed either, they're adding an option for instant clicking and it buying them all automatically is also optional.

  • I don't think so - because as they said not all licensed characters are going to get tomes due to license issues, so chances are when that happens they'll do an original character we haven't had yet or repeat any if wanted.

I think they're just ALSO going to start doing more side stories for other characters (probably in the observer entries).

EDIT: Ah you covered that in point c - that'll teach me for skim reading. Friday brain.

  • I thought that second paragraph just meant the ACTUAL rift tiers in the UI have unique visuals, i.e. the levels 70-85, NOT the outfits themselves. At least - that's how I'm reading it.

That said, Deep Rift is fairly new so we don't know if the blue re-colours will also return because the tome that introduced them hasn't had its non-deep rift outfits released in the store yet.

But FOMO has always somewhat existed with the rift - you can't ever get those charms again either and re-colours of existing outfits they put in there don't come back either (as far as I know).

How I feel - I don't particularly mind because I accepted a long time ago I'm not getting every single outfit in this game and the idea of the rift is to reward active playing during the season. As far as battlepasses go, I think BHVR's is (whilst not the best) fairly easy and I'm still buying premium from Tome 1's refund currency but I do play the game regularly.

One point of clarification: Am I correct to assume that, since it says Dead Hard deactivates if it protects you from damage, you don't lose the chance to use it if you flub it (exhaustion aside)?

As far as I'm reading it - yes.

If you use it but the killer misses/or did it by accident but get your exhaustion back, you can use it again. If it protects you from a hit, you need to unhook someone to re-activate it.

  • It's intentional. Each killer has their own MMR (matchmaking rating) so when you click ready, it's using that killer's particular MMR to match you with the survivors - which is why you can't switch. The survivor side doesn't have individual MMR per survivor - you have one rating for the entire side, so you can switch survivors freely.

  • Yeah I don't know why it's still in the game. When it does happen, it seems to just put salt in the wound because you got camped to death and weren't rescued, or the killer went afk partway through so your emblems are just bad.

I agree with sizzlingmario4 that it should still be -2 for disconnecting though, not that I think people who disconnect will care but it's another minor reason not to.

It's unmerging that's disabled currently - merging should be available. This is what mine looks like having not merged yet:

    image.png

So it seems it's working fine from my end. I'm not currently in a position to merge Epic/Steam together until later, so I can't login to try it but the button is available for me.

  • The higher prestige you are, the more likely you are to get higher rarity add-ons as you level up the smaller blood webs - so if you happen to be a high prestige character, this may be why you're seeing fewer.

That said, there are far more uncommon add-ons then there are ones of higher rarity, so there's more of them to 'fight' for their uncommon spots in your bloodweb, so you could have just had a streak of bad luck where you weren't able to get Blighted Rats to spawn in the uncommon nodes that generated.

  • Agreed - glad they listened to feedback on this.

  • Hard to tell from reading it.

Against a co-ordinated 4-man it seems like she's weaker overall at holding a 3-gen and will eventually lose from war of attrition but they'd have to be co-ordinated.

If there's 3 survivors or fewer, I dunno if it makes much of a difference, and may actually just make her better since she can now move between gens faster if 1 disables it and she still has 3 drones left anyway to keep over the 3 generators if 1 of them is disabled by one of the survivors. If 2 survivors do it, well she has 2 drones over 2 of them and can hover near the non-protected one. That said, I dunno how this will work out in practice. It may be that 3 tracked survivors with her haste boost isn't as bad as it seems if they disable them.

Overall though, I think it's a step toward the right direction - but ultimately I think the 3-gen issue is largely exasperated by current perk design and map design issues with gen placement, so ultimately, I'd argue BHVR need to look into them. Maybe if CoB/OC are looked at, this'll seem more bearable - time will tell.

  • It's not currently active. It'll be activated next week:

    image.png

You'll be getting an increased chance of going to Mother's Dwelling/Temple of Purgation and (I assume) Shelter Woods since those were updated with this patch for a week. Then map repeat prevention will be activated.

  • Seems like a buff and nerf but I don't know which outweighs the other. It's a buff in the sense it'll be 3D audio so you can locate the survivor quicker, but it's a nerf in that it's no longer map wide. It feels like a net nerf from reading it, but I'd have to try it out.

  • Really really happy to see this - these upcoming QoL improvements are going to be a huge help. Most excited for the easier BP spending and no map duplication - but overall some really exciting changes in here. Great job, BHVR.

  • Not yet - we've still got a good month and a half-ish to wait before we typically get a teaser/PTB for the next chapter. We still have the upcoming mid-chapter to go live, and then typically 3-4 weeks after that we'll get the teaser/PTB for the next killer. None of that is set in stone, however.

  • Online games require a PS Plus Subscription to play. In DBD's case, you need to purchase DBD itself, and then have an active PS Plus Subscription to play it.

  • Just archive challenges currently. It would be cool if we could get an in-game daily tracker, too, though - might be worth posting that as feedback in the PTB forums. Unsure how technically feasible it is in the short term though.

  • There's two separate things at the moment as far as I know.

That bug fix is intentional, and will likely remain.

There is a separate issue in the PTB currently where you can switch between Charlotte/Victor much quicker and Charlotte can perform actions/move much quicker when you return to her than you can currently on the live build, which is unintended and is a bug.

  • We have no idea - decisions and agreements like that are private between BHVR and the license holder of Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

  • Intentional as far as I know - the guards also do not get any benefit from perks that interact with generators, either, i.e. Pop, Eruption, etc. nor do they get any benefit from Brutal Strength.

  • I do not think so, no.

There used to be an article regarding this that I can no longer find, but the 'voucher' to get the Stranger Things DLC would have expired by now from memory.

  • No, this is a bug - you will sometimes get 'sticky' or 'laggy' skill checks. It's been acknowledged here and the targeted fix is for this month:

The Kill Switch is a recent feature added to Dead by Daylight. It gives us the ability to temporarily switch off any items/offerings/maps/cosmetics/characters that are causing game breaking issues in the game, to ensure continued enjoyment. When the Kill Switch is used, the item/offering/cosmetic/character/map will not…
    image.png

  • I'm unsure, it depends what this comment means:

Good skill checks, on the other hand, still bump the Killer, but 50% less than was previously normal.

By 'default', that means killers are wiggling 50% less at base, since not hitting skill checks at all doesn't cause them to sway (as far as I remember anyway), so is the 20% increase for great skill checks based on this new reduced figure? Or what we currently have?

    My official answer: 🙂

Oh I'm excited to hear this.

    @Rudjohns said:

If they keep giving existing killers new chase music, what happens eventually with the original 6 generic themes?

I've heard the argument that Trapper should just keep the original music so it's always there, but - I can't see some older licensed killers getting terror radius themes anytime soon or even in the near future, so I think we'll always have it around on them for a while. I wouldn't be against Trapper keeping the OG music though, just so it's there.

Anyone else think changing the merciless killer requirement to a 4k is a bad idea? Every killer will slug for the 4k now and campers with deadlock (mostly bubbas) will get rewarded for it now

I don't think getting a 4k will double pip you regardless. I think they're JUST changing the '(x) killer' result so it's based on kills rather than pips gained.

I think this means that the pips gained are still related to emblems, so this change should basically only benefit people going for adept, so hopefully shouldn't encourage killers to play differently based on pips since that's still related to emblems.

Thank you devs for adding the in-game challenge tracker. Especially useful for the challenges ones that need to be completed in 1 match.

I don't understand the last part of Knight's change where he has a 10 second limit to pathing. Does that mean I can't just drop a guard on top of where I'm standing? Or have have to wait 10 seconds to drop it?

From how I understand it, it's the following:

On live, you can go into your patrol mode, and move the max distance and/or stay in it indefinitely. That's made some tactics for pseudo camping the hook work with certain perks. So instead, you'll now be only able to stay in the 'patrol' view for 10 seconds before you get teleported back to the Knight so you can't stay in it indefinitely anymore.

To set expectations ahead of time, there's no secret perk changes in this update. This mid-chapter has a bunch of big features that take a lot of work to implement, so sadly there wasn't any bandwidth for perk changes on top of that. We've still got plenty of perk changes in mind for future updates, though!

Thanks for clearing that up, Peanits. Honestly, I'm mega excited for a lot of what's coming in this update, so I'm definitely not disappointed.

  • Just got out of a game on Léry's with this issue. The killer disconnected (understandably) so hopefully this still helps.

    DeadByDaylight.log

  • Unlikely it's intended - especially if the survivors could get through it and you couldn't. Was that the case?

If so, I'd create a bug report thread here with that video: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/categories/bugs

  • Good question - I'm not sure since they've updated the main menu UI. It was still possible on PC since that patch, because entering it doesn't disturb the flow on PC, but having a look around I have heard various reports of people on consoles no longer being able to get it because it now opens the daily ritual tab.

Some people say you have to have Pyramid Head in the main menu as the killer's weapon you see, so give that a try, but if you definitely can't get it after multiple attempts, I'd put a bug report in the bug report forum, with platform details.

  • Quite a few killers for this but I'd say Blight probably in general. He's a very active chase/mobility killer - he can very quickly roam the map and he has add-ons that allow his rush charges to go much quicker and recharge much quicker, which keeps his uptime rushing around pretty high. That said, he has quite a large skill ceiling and can be very map dependent, but if you enjoy a killer that is very active, then he's a pretty good choice. Can lookup LilithOmen on YouTube/Twitch - he's a very good Blight main.

Nurse is probably the 2nd obvious choice considering she can phase through walls and puts out a monumental amount of pressure on survivors when played at her best, but I'd argue she can be frustrating to play until you nail her down. That said, there's no denying her ability to teleport between gens and put a lot of pressure on survivors. SupaAlf is a good YT channel/Twitch stream to check out if you want to see a nurse main in action.

  • Are you sure it was Dead Hard and not Off the Record or another endurance perk? All Dead Hard does is provide endurance for 0.5 seconds with an accompanied animation. Off the Record gives you 80 seconds of endurance after you've been unhooked so long as you don't perform a conspicuous action (like touching a generator). It could also have been Mettle of Man.

It is possible that you faced a cheater as well, but without a video, it's really hard to say.

  • There seems to be a fair few people struggling to get this in the bug report forum lately - here's one example: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/358101/hag-achievement-daily-challenge-bugged#latest

I recommend upvoting that thread and putting your own findings in that thread.

  • I leave it up to the Pig to decide that.

I won't 'expect' them to not hit me and let me boop it, but say, for example, I'm the last survivor alive and they will accept the boop or want to be booped, then sure - I'll play along with it. It's something fun to do.

  • LOVING to see this - it's sorely needed. Looks great so far - can't wait to try it out myself.

  • Because it's built into 'hook' mechanics and cages mechanically act different. No 'on hook' killer perks (like BBQ & Chili) or 'unhook' perks work on cages.

In my opinion, I think it should get the base endurance/haste - just because it's consistent. Even though PH has to travel across the map to a cage, there's still a possibility you can just tunnel the person with the cage out as soon as they get uncaged.

  • No, as far as I'm aware there's no way to go back to the 'old look'. I don't think this look is necessarily 'final' anyway, I'm sure Mandy and her team are listening to feedback and will make future updates.

When it comes to the new avatars, Mandy has said the following in another thread:

    image.png

  • I had no idea this was the new URL for the forums - I've been trying to refresh the old one for hours. Whoops!

  • I'm not always great when it comes to action speed math in DBD, so I'll take a stab and someone else can fact check me.

Unhooking is 1 second, so I think the math is 1/1.5 which gives you 0.66666 recurring seconds. Therefore it's roughly 0.7 seconds if we're rounding up.

  • I can't say for 100% but as far as I'm aware, no - there isn't a way to get it currently.

Charms are one of the items DBD does where you can miss out on them without a way to get them again, and as far as I am aware, it was only available for the limited time whilst the in-game event was active.

  • Scratched Mirror with a Léry's offering would be one way to do it as Fake said.

Alternatively, using GhostFace and going into stealth the moment before you hit someone with an M1 attack will count. You could use the Olsen's Wallet add-on which recharges night shroud after breaking a pallet so you can get it more often in a chase to make this more likely to.

  • They haven't in the past winter events - usually Event tomes are reserved for Halloween/Anniversary, but I don't know if they've announced it either way.

We got the cosmetics last year via the Snowmen, either hitting them/escaping with them/getting removed, etc.

  • Lullabies do not count as terror radiuses no - so Terror Radius perks will not work with them. She still has a terror radius (at 20 metres), it's just shorter than her Lullaby, so those perks WILL work, but they're not as effective on Huntress as other killers.

  • Wesker, Legion, Wraith, Blight off the top of my head. I would like it to be Billy, but I need to actually practice curving on him - seems really fun when you nail it.

Basically killers that I personally enjoy the gameplay loop of. Doesn't matter if I'm losing, bouncing around as Blight is fun, and throwing survivors into walls as Wesker, running fast, vaulting and stabbing, etc.

Tbh, I find the killers that are enjoyable to play the ones I play the most. I find Nurse's gameplay loop frustrating as an example (blink, look down, blink, look down, etc.) so I'd much rather have fun than 4K. That's just me though, I understand everyone has fun in different ways.

  • I did it a long long long time ago - but you have to make sure you're getting the Phantasm Attack score event (which is hitting a survivor shortly after teleporting) on each survivor in the match. If you take too long after teleporting, it won't count.

I'm not currently aware of any bugs related to this achievement/Trophy, but it's possible it is bugged. Unfortunately not something I can test since I've already achieved it. I see you've raised something in the bug forum, so hopefully those who haven't achieved it yet can confirm for you.

  • You can't. There's not an indicator of it hiding your aura - it just reduces the aura range reading and lights up when it's 1 or more tokens. If you want to know your aura has been hidden, then Distortion is the perk to use, since it uses up tokens when it does.

  • @apathyinc said:

Killer Adepts are one of my favorite things in the game. I don't run any other perks on a killer until I get their Adept challenge done. This helps me learn how to make the most of their power, and then I get an idea of how their perks can synergize with other perks. If I lose matches while I'm doing this, who gives a crap? I don't want to inflate my MMR rating on a killer that I'm only able to win with by using the strongest perks.

This is what I've turned adept achievements into. I try out just their 3 perks with the killer without any add-ons, and practice them solely to get a feel for their power. That way I'm achieving two things - getting the adept, and practicing the killer/familiarizing myself with their perks.

That said, if you want a somewhat easier time, just wait until Grade Reset - getting Merciless is way easier in Ash grade than it is in any higher one.
