  • From what I've gathered this is the 'Trial Expired' error on PS - which I guess is PS4 in your case?

This seems less like a bug with the game and more like an issue with your PS Account detecting your PS Plus Subscription that DBD was downloaded on.

Have you switched accounts recently or changed which is your primary PS ACcount? Or changed your PS Plus subscription in some way? As far as I'm aware, to keep using a PS Plus game you need to be using the same account it was downloaded on in the first place. Does the game have a Padlock icon next to it?

  • They plan on changing the MMR for survivors in the future so that it's team based rather than solo based from here:

"For the future, we’re still hard at work implementing various improvements to the matchmaking system. These include making Survivor ratings team based rather than personal (so dying heroically to save everyone else isn’t as punishing)"

    Which came from here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/319692/news-matchmaking-tests-results#latest

Which I think seems to be the most elegant solution. Whilst this won't entirely remove a situation where a survivor who hides in the corner all game and lives still gets an MMR raise, it means at least that running the killer the entire game and dying doesn't mean an MMR loss either.

Is this bugged Mandy? I can't move on to the next one even though I've completed the personal challenge or can you only move on when both the community and personal challenge is done?

You can only move on when both the community challenge goal is complete and your personal contribution is complete - both need to be fulfilled to move onto the next one.

  • Dwight will always have a special place in my heart.

Back when this game was brand new, Dwight was considered the 'worst' survivor to have in your team, because his perks didn't bring anything 'great' to the team (this was back when perma sabo was a thing, Self-Care was much better, etc.) I levelled him up first and stuck with him all the way for a long time back during the older larger bloodwebs and he's the only survivor I have who has legacy cosmetics.

Whilst I've varied up my survivor choices since, he was my survivor main for a good 3-4 years so he's always going to have a special place in my heart.

  • I've noticed as well that Meg's Prestige is Silver(?) with more Entity tendrils around it yet is a lower level.

I wonder if that means every (x) prestige levels puts you back to a new colour icon up until Iridescent, i.e. Bronze Prestige 1-10, Silver Prestige 1-10, Gold 1-10, Iri 1-Infinity(?). Would fit the theme.

  • The helmet has to be active for the trap to kill you at the exit gate - if the Pig puts the trap on a players head after all 5 generators have been completed, it won't activate, and thus the survivor can leave through the exit gate with it on.

  • They haven't confirmed this either way - there's a 'catch up' mechanic for those who haven't engaged in the prestige system but how that works, what that'll bring people to, if they'll make people higher than P3 if they're already maxed P3, etc. haven't yet been shared.

I think it's this way around because when they add the streamer mode, you'll be able to hide your name.

Good point - that is probably the case.

  • Looking forward to this!

I don't know if it's just placeholder text, but I feel like it'd be better if the player name was the large font and the character name was the smaller font, but that's just a personal preference.

  • I suppose it comes down to time unfortunately - whilst it would have been nice for every single original character to get a unique mask, I doubt they had the time to do it, otherwise, well, they would have, which is why they gave 1 to each character per year.

Whilst it sucks if your main didn't get one, it is, in my opinion, nice to see that some of the characters chosen were some characters that don't often see frequent cosmetic updates, such as Ace. Hopefully next year if they do a similar event they can pick the characters that weren't chosen this year.

  • Hot topics at the time and general perk usage or what's considered 'meta' tend to hide underlying problematic perks until they're resolved. Dead Hard has always been a very strong and uncounterable perk when used for distance, the difference is there were more seemingly problematic 'obvious' perks at the time and thus fewer survivors were running it in general.

One example was Balanced Landing, which used to reduce the stagger effect regardless even if you were exhausted. Once this was nerfed, people tended to shift towards DH so it became a thing you saw way more frequently and therefore the problems people have with it started to surface more frequently.

Once it gets changed, assuming the major issue people have with it is addressed, I imagine something else will take its place that's currently bubbling beneath the surface that people kinda know is a problem but aren't really talking about as much.

  • I don't know if it's intended, but after some testing you have to PERSONALLY finish a generator for a Green Glpyh to spawn on the survivor side. If you want to earn 5 Green Glyphs in a match, you need to finish 5 generators (that's assuming no one else is also doing Green Glyphs). 1 spawns per generator you personally complete.

Killer side, it appears to be that 1 hook = 1 Glyph spawn up to 5.

If this is intended, I agree that the updated wording could be clearer, as it still isn't clear it works this way.

  • I think people will mostly agree with you to be honest.

BHVR have stated that they're not just looking at nerfing the most used perks, they're looking at WHY people run them, and I think so long as there is a perk on both sides that doubles your bloodpoints, people will run it - even if they reduce the grind massively, because, well, more bloodpoints is a good thing.

So I'm in agreement, I hope that they add a basekit modifier where if you do (x) in the game, you double your bloodpoints without needing a perk tied to it.

  • Floods of Rage and Call of Brine have found themselves in some of my killer builds so I would certainly say those two are worth getting yes.

Call of Brine is very good when used in conjunction with Pop and Floods of Rage is very useful on killers that utilise auras well mid chase like Nurse or Huntress if you're going for cross maps or what have you so I would say yes, I would personally say her perks are worth getting.

Gotta be Mandy's - she knows us all too well.

  • Appreciate the change on this - makes the event more enjoyable. Looking forward to tackling the next one!

  • Whilst that hasn't been explicitly stated, I don't think their intention is to REMOVE perks you've already got unlocked on characters just because you haven't prestiged those teachables - that would be rather punishing to those who haven't engaged in the prestige system so whilst no one at BHVR has yet explicitly stated you won't, I'd be very surprised if that were the case.

  • She's been working out recently due to the potential dates she's got lined up in the future - unfortunately she just pulled that hatchet out too fast. Not her fault, really, I'm sure The Entity will understand.

  • They've said they can't change every single perk this patch due to bandwidth and one not being changed doesn't mean it won't be changed in the future. Hopefully this will shake up the meta regardless so perk variety will come in, but I'm sure once they've done this round more perks further down the line will be getting looked at, both ones ran too often and ones not ran often enough.

  • Not necessarily main but it does influence what Survivor I will pour my next set of bloodpoints into. Nea/Kate and some recent Mikaela outfits have been really good. I've also recently got shirtless David in beach shorts - I couldn't resist that one either.

I'm a gigantic Resident Evil fan since I was a kid though, so I also often play Jill/Leon and mix it up with Claire/Chris.

  • They've mentioned before that when they're considering changing these perks - they're not just considering nerfing them because they're used too much, they're also considering WHY people run them in the first place.

Patrick heavily hinted in a previous Q&A that elements of BT will become basekit for survivors, so it could be that elements of Decisive Strike or even elements to the base game have changed to make it not as necessary to run in the first place, thus introducing the change it's going to be getting.

  • I agree with Gloam - Meg has a really decent set of perks when you're starting out and getting involved in chases. Sprint Burst is a strong exhaustion perk, Adrenaline is very useful when you make it to end-game and Quick and Quiet, whilst not as strong as the previous, can still be very strong for confusing killers at vaults.

Bill is also a strong contender for Borrowed Time alone.

Since you're on console, Hag is also a decent choice for killer for Ruin/Devour Hope. Nurse is also worth levelling for Thanatophobia and Nurse's Calling, albeit she is much harder to play. Typically for killer, something that puts pressure on gens (regression/slowdown, etc) and something that gives you information (where survivors are/what gens are being worked on) is generally a good call to have in your build.

They fixed this with the Portrait of a Murder release.

Just to double check though, I just had a look in-game. Top is me before blessing a totem, the bottom picture is me after attempting to bless it for a second. It looks fixed to me.

Have you tried it since the patch? Or was it when blessing a Hex specifically?

  • Had an exceptionally long load loading screen when in a duo with a friend going into the match. We were both playing the new survivor. It wasn't infinite, but it did take about what felt like 8-10 minutes to load us in.

    EDIT: Cross platform ON

  • Whilst some of this may be not colliding properly (such as the rocks) - part of Blight's collision is also now where you're looking - so to collide with those shorter tables, you have to be looking down rather than straight ahead as it now uses something similar to your attack (m1) collision. So for shorter objects, you have to be looking down.

  • Yes - this isn't a bug. If you activate the challenges related to Pestula Pettles in level 1 of Tome 5, they will appear in the map, so they'll appear all year around so long as someone activates it.

  • This isn't a bug - the trophy/achievement is just very poorly described.

What "Blood on your Face" requires is an Ebony Mori offering and mori-ing all 4 survivors in a single match. You can also get this achievement by using Hex: Devour Hope and mori all 4 survivors after the perk has 5 stacks.

  • I agree, at some point they need to do a big perk overhaul in terms of categories/filtering, and add a search bar to filter through perks. It was fine when the game had a very limited amount of perks but we're on 5 pages worth now and it's only going to get worse.

Being able to save builds would also be nice.

  • I recommend keeping an eye on the Developer Updates - they address some of the most talked about game issues.

They mention Hitboxes/HitReg in the latest one:

  • If I'm understanding this change, it isn't good.

It's poorly designed because it punishes your team-mates if they DON'T run Self Care whilst giving a negligible downside to the person running it.

It feels fine where it is right now - it's slow enough that it takes considerable time investment whilst making getting healed by others more appealing. This change will just make it feel mandatory and doesn't promote team-play.

  • It's describing the cannibal, not Claudette.

It wouldn't make sense for it to be about Claudette. Why would she want to be with the Killer or like them?

The 'them' in this description are the victims of the Cannibal. He wears their faces to be like them.
