If they're going to implement this, then yes, I think they'd need to have a limited amount rather than unlimited so people aren't just mass avoiding someone for not using a meta build, or using Head On or whatever.
That said, the reason why systems like this work in Overwatch is because it puts the person on the enemy team rather than your team. It doesn't stop them from being matched with you at all, just on your team, which is fine in a 5v5 somewhat symmetrical game because the game is still going ahead regardless. The problem with DBD is - you're not just stopping that person from being matched *with you*, you're stopping them from being matched with anyone that joins your game, so the 2 other survivors and the killer. That could make a person's queue time massive in a relatively small amount of avoids taking region matchmaking into account, though obviously I haven't done the potential maths on this so couldn't say.

Large thread on it here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/282110/eac-on-steam-deck-proton-linux/p25
Mandy's latest updates on it are the following:
-
They've provided info and a workaround for this here:
-
It's still on with the current version of DH.
Peanits answers that here:
And explains it more here:
-
It's potentially a bug yes - it depends if you had wiggle progress previously when she slugged you, e.g. if you were at about 70% wiggle and she dropped you, you'd now be at 95% due to dropping giving wiggle progress. Since wiggle progress doesn't decay when slugged, you'd still be at 95% when picked up and you'd be able to break free almost immediately.
If that, however, was not the case, then yes - it seems to be a bug.
-
You can - you even get the prompt at this moment:
The issue is, the Deathslinger's hitbox then blocks the area you'd be unhooking from, so he's blocking your ability to unhook from that particular angle.
EDIT: I think I misunderstood your initial question. Yes, that is meant to happen. A killer can bodyblock from a particular angle of the hook - what they shouldn't be able to do is FULLY bodyblock the hook to prevent it from being unhooked from ANY angle.
-
Not personally but I am a PC player.
Looking online it seems to be related to a connection error - the cursor thing is, as far as I know anyway, an unrelated bug purely affecting PlayStation users, which they've tweeted about and provided a workaround for here:
Regarding the 8001 error, if you're persistently getting it, it may be worth posting in the Technical Issues forum.
-
I've not done it, but judging by the wording, it's damaging a survivor who has the haste effect - not having the haste effect yourself. If so, whilst mostly out of your control - I'd say if you want to bring the control back in your court and do it as soon as possible, play clown and chuck a yellow bottle at them and hope you can get a hit in whilst they have haste on.
It is slightly confusingly worded though, I'll admit, so I'm not 100% sure.
-
There's currently some bugs with challenges not counting progress - the only thing I've seen that works is selecting another challenge, doing a game, and then going back to the challenge that got 'stuck' and seeing if it starts to progress - but unfortunately this isn't guaranteed to work either. It's more trial and error.
Finger's crossed they have a fix coming with the Forged in Fog chapter coming today.
-
It's certainly very strong if it spawns - that house can also have a chance for neither of the bottom windows in the main cabin table room to spawn which makes it go from really strong to not.
If one of the really strong windows does spawn though and you're not equipped to deal with it, I'd just say let the main building gen go and try and protect the others/give up chase if they run towards it and are decent at looping. It never feels good to do, but until they do a graphical rework of the Red Forest maps, I'm not expecting any changes balance wise.
-
No one's going to know this other than BHVR and Capcom - we could hazard a guess, but contracts/license agreements such as these are private between both companies and probably vary between license to license.
I'm glad they chose Wesker/Nemesis - they're both very iconic to the series. If they choose to do more chapters in the future with RE, then Birkin/G is a good choice. Lady D has also become fairly iconic in the realm of RE and so has Mr X since the RE2 remake. I'm such an RE fanboy that I'll be happy with any new RE content tbh.
-
People have already been compensated afaik - so everyone who should have had the reward has received it. The reward was for people who couldn't login at all during a period of the event - unsure if that's the issue people on XBOX were having.
-
They've made changes their side to make reporting these players still possible as per Mandy's post below:
-
I won't miss the pop up that's for sure, but if there were a way for the icon to transition to what you got in one smooth motion rather than having a pop up break the flow, I'd have been fine with them staying.
-
The Game for me - even as a survivor in all honesty. It feels very auto pilotey a lot of the time - I just don't find chases interesting as either side on that map.
-
They look at multiple areas, but yes, they do listen to the Feedback & Suggestions channel. Some recent examples include ensuring Spine Chill was still useful as a short term accessibility feature, changing Wesker's grab Hitbox to be more precise, and then when people discussed it being too precise, changing it to meet in the middle from the PTB, etc.
The thing is, they can't just 'listen to feedback' because the community isn't a homogeneous entity that all have the same opinion. What one person wants isn't necessarily what another wants, and vice versa - plus there's also priorities, time, etc. I'm not claiming BHVR are perfect, for the record, but throughout the game's history a lot of changes have come via feedback.
-
@ReverseVelocity said:
Movement speeds don't rely on a specific criteria to be assigned, it's decided on a killer-by-killer basis.
This is basically the answer in the grand scheme of things.
Whether or not we agree with the decision, BHVR felt whilst they were playtesting that the drawback the killer needed for their power was to move at 4.4m/s whereas on other killers they may have felt that their power had enough drawbacks in its basekit to not necessitate a speed slowdown.
-
I've always known it as "I'm getting camped" from 2016, but I am also aware that somewhere over the years it's become "Save me", which kinda makes it redundant.
It's why I tend to run Kindred in solo queue these days.
-
Agree - the checks to ensure they can't pop gens immediately/stack perks/etc. are a great improvement. I don't think any game has ever fully stamped out cheating (that I know of), but these improvements are very welcome.
-
Luck I guess - they're not bugged. I did the two the other day.
They disappear and relocate if they keep line of site on you for too long - you'd know because this causes you to get exposed. They also (according to the wiki) relocate if you enter their visibility range and you then move more than 32m away from them.
I imagine for you, this may have been the latter and you didn't notice causing it to relocate to another position.
EDIT: I am wrong. See the below two responses.
-
They do work, but you'll struggle to get value out of them consistently because of the Dream World mechanic.
When survivors are awake, they can hear your terror radius, so perks that require them to be in your terror radius will work.
When survivors are asleep and in the dream world, they become oblivious (can't hear your terror radius) and hear the lullaby instead, so perks that require them to be in your terror radius will not work.
This is why it's difficult to get value out of these perks since survivors are in and out of the dream world, and ideally you want them IN the dream world as Freddy so your snares/pallets are effective.
Perks that won't work whilst they're in the dream world (from a killer perspective) are:
- Coulrophobia
- Unnerving Presence
- Dissolution
- Infectious Fright
- Overwhelming Presence
- Septic Touch
- Starstruck
There are other perks that are less effective but will still do other things such as Agitation/Distressing, but they're less directly affected by it since they have secondary effects. A list of perks that modify/require being in the terror radius can be found here: https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Terror_Radius?so=search#Perks
-
You're entitled to play what you enjoy playing. They're entitled to their opinions, but likewise, you also purchased this game and Freddy as a killer, so if you enjoy playing him and you stick to the game rules, carry on as you are.
If we all had to stop doing what people considered 'boring', we wouldn't be able to play the game at all.

Clues to his current state are in the Haunted by Daylight tome. We may learn more in the future, but to give you the specific excerpts I mean that may hint towards Vittorio's symbols/glow:
Only inside this tower, instead of stories and Irish wine, they found dozens of flayed bodies and leather scrolls covered in tattoos. The tattooed messages and symbols are indecipherable. Could be messages and secrets about this dark dimension. Things learned. Things discovered. Perhaps even a way out of this infernal prison.
A few of us found more of these scrolls and strange instruments like the glowing blue contraption in the basement. The symbols on the scrolls seem very familiar to those found within the pages of Sam Park's codex. Several of these ancient scrolls were returned to the House of Arkham, and upon further inspection, it was clear that the scrolls were made out of human skin and that someone had been hunting people with arcane symbols tattooed on their bodies. Strange yet fascinating to think that there are human ‘books’ walking around the Realm with secret knowledge that could possibly help us better understand this loveless inferno. Could make for an interesting character in the moving picture I will eventually write, produce and direct. I imagine a character recording the secrets of the universe on his skin with cosmic ink that cannot be erased, smudged, or destroyed. But, in reality, he’s probably some ordinary Joe from a strange world who tattooed a grocery list on his body. Curious to learn more about these ‘human books,’ I spent time researching the Chamber of Blood for stories inspired by or referencing a character like him.
-
If I don't have an escape challenge yeah - all the time. I find it way more interesting/satisfying to die trying to save someone than just leave someone to die.
-
Never heard of this before - have you got a screenshot? And what platform you're on?
-
Whilst I understand and agree that Eruption could be friendlier to solo queue, I don't really understand why you think these two things are comparable. If BHVR had to make changes to everything that had awkward/unenjoyable counterplay in one patch, we'd never get changes in the first place.
I'm sure they'll look at Eruption in the future.
-
Like (almost) everything in this update. Not sure how the 0.25 second buffer will feel as a killer but I'll have to try it out and see. It's easy enough to bait out a flashlight save/face an object so I'm not overly concerned, more about how responsive it will feel.
Changes to anti-cheats are great though, and I enjoy testing things so the bots are gonna be a huge help. Also loving the look of that basement.
-
You're not doing anything wrong - you're just meant to equip a green toolbox or better and finish a generator (which means just make sure you're on it when it completes, not do 100% of it). Your toolbox can even be empty and this will count, so long as you were physically on the generator when it completes.
This sounds like a bug - but strangely it worked with me and I've not heard anyone else complain about it. What platform are you on? And do you always use a particular set of add-ons/perks?
-
Love these. My only feedback is - add more! They're great.
-
This may be related to this bug.
Did you play a custom game before? Regardless, restarting the game appears to be the workaround for now.
-
Correct. It used to visibly appear before opening depending on the amount of generators remaining.
Instead - it now only appears when the last survivor is in the match.

How are you looking for it?
Keep in mind the cosmetic in the level 1 tome is only her body piece, not her full outfit - so it won't appear in the 'outfit' section of her cosmetics yet until you've unlocked the rest in level 2. It's only going to appear in her middle body slot currently as per my screenshot below.
-
This would encourage killers to slug for the 4K even more than they do so now because hatch play then becomes entirely favourable to the last survivor, or alternatively just camp the hatch until the survivor appear. If the killer closes the hatch, then the survivor just has to wait out EGC and get released instead of risking an escape. I think it just makes the gameplay worse, in my opinion.
I'd rather they solve bodyblocking/slugging/etc. in a different way than this personally, but I can see where your idea is coming from. I don't also personally believe this would reduce bodyblocking/slugging during EGC. If someone wants to be toxic, they'll do it - wasting your time until the EGC goes to 0 is still 4 minutes of wasting someone's time.
-
Not personally, but I am a PC - Steam user so it may be a platform specific issue. Hopefully some PlayStation users can comment? Are you PS4 or PS5?
-
We don't have a concrete date yet, but Mandy did mention it'll be fixed before the end of the year here:

Yeah I agree with this. I think Charms on survivor's hips currently are quite hard to see most of the time, so putting charms on generators makes sense as the 'equivalent' for killer hook charms side of things.

In the past couple months, it has not changed significantly, she's been pretty high up there for a while. Though typically around their release, kill rates tend to vary more before the settle.
Good to know. Appreciate the response, thank you.
-
I'd be interested to know if Sadako's kill rate changed significantly in the last couple months or if she's always been around the top. I wonder if the popularity of her condemned build being spread has increased her numbers, or if she was just always somewhat around there (relative to the recent killer buffs).
-
It's a visual bug introduced with the recent mid-chapter, or at least from doing my own checking it is. There's a thread on it here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3226215#Comment_3226215 which Mandy has commented on but you should still be getting the incentive (if it's applicable) regardless.
If you have more information to add on it or you think it's not visual, add it to that thread.
-
Without a video I'm unsure but it'd be a bug/glitch. The Doctor hasn't got any add-ons/parts of his power where he spawns fake illusions of survivors and the Halloween event wouldn't have started when you'd seen this glitch.
-
I love it when older killers get individual chase music/terror radiuses, so I'm eager to hear what it sounds like.
-
Click your picture on the top right -> Edit Profile. On the far right, there's a box that says 'Change My Picture' -> Select one and then scroll to the far bottom and click 'Save Avatar'.
-
Unless they've changed it and not mentioned it, it is not - survivors share their SBMM regardless, it's just killers that have their own separate matchmaking rating. From their recap a while back:
-
If you unlock them at P1/P2/P3, they are automatically unlocked on the other killers at that respective tier, so they'll already be available at Tier 3 on the Artist without having to find it on her bloodweb.
As an example, I had every killer at P3+ when Wesker came out - I only had to unlock the universal/general perks and his own perks to T3 on the bloodweb. All the other killers teachables (minus Demo's, because they now count as general/universal perks) were already ready to use at T3 when he was released.
-
You're thinking of this, right: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9qg0KnE-A4&ab_channel=AndersonRamos
I don't think it's the same sound, but the new PTB sounds do sound like they're from a Halloween film. I like them a lot.
-
You can play survivor exclusively and get a P100 killer. So no, it just shows a particular amount of dedication of bloodpoints into a character or characters.
-
Without this add-on, survivors can see the aura of crows flying towards them when the artists sets them off in flight from whenever they are in the map. It's like a white outline of a flock of crows flying across the map/towards them.
WITH this add-on, they can no longer see those auras, but instead they see the aura of the crow being set for 0.5 seconds globally instead (the one with the giant crow head and the long line in front of it).
The point of it is to make sniping across the map easier for the Artist/more confusing for the survivor, whilst making placing it during loops against the survivor you're chasing worse for The Artist.

I am pretty sure we learned most of changes before 6.1.0 PTB; maybe i remember wrong.
You're thinking of developer updates that detail what will be in the PTB, which we do sometimes get before the PTB goes live - we did get the Finisher Mori one, but if there's other stuff in this PTB, maybe we have another developer update to come?
-
Hook distribution is an issue in some current matches sure, but I very rarely find myself in a situation that often where I can't reach a hook unless a survivor has done a sabo play, which at that point is team-work and people off of gens, so I'm less fussed about it. That said, I have rarely had a couple situations in Midwich/RPD/The Game where this is an issue, so it would be good for them to have a look at it, for sure.
I also personally think that hooks being permanently sabo'd when a survivor is sacrificed is an outdated mechanic that, if this change goes through for survivors to pick themselves up (which I support) should also no longer occur so the killer can't find themselves with hook dead zones where hook RNG has been less than favourable. That said, I also appreciate now with Scourge Hooks that losing one permanently adds a level of strategy to them, which I also don't particularly want to entirely disappear. Maybe the Scourge can disappear if a survivor is sacrificed on it, but the hook remains to balance that out.

Dead By Daylight is listed under the 'No Known Issues' list on their website here:
and having googled around, other people on PS4 have changed their name playing DBD without losing any progress, so it seems to be reported as working fine, which you can find here: https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/support/account/games-tested-online-id-change/
That said, this is also on Sony's website:
So it seems they can't guarantee it'll have no issues at all. I doubt BHVR can comment on that either, as it's a Sony platform feature rather than their own, so it's ultimately up to you. The reports are that it works fine, but Sony can't guarantee it'll work flawlessly.
