Won’t Boil Over now have the same problem it had before the nerf in patch 5.7.0?
The upcoming change will increase the sway amount by 20% for great skill checks.
And the previous nerf for Boil Over was:
- Increases struggling effects by 60/70/80% (was 50/75/100%)
- Dev Note: Boil Over's wiggle impact was causing some players to have significant issues navigating certain maps, beyond the intended impact of the perk. We are planning to look at wiggle impact more generally in a future patch, but for now we are toning down the impact from Boil Over to prevent particularly egregious cases.
So now that the sway amount will be back up to 100% won’t the problem be exactly the same as before for console players?

Where did you hear about the buff? Is there a specific link to the patch notes or..?

Updated Wiggle Mechanics
The updated wiggle system was the first feature to appear in the beta tab last year. Since its introduction, we’ve collected feedback from countless games and around the internet. Roughly 83% of players are currently opted into the wiggle beta.
The time has come for this system to be officially integrated into the game, and as a result, the wiggle beta will disappear from the betas tab in the 6.5.0 update. There’s a couple changes that will be made before this goes live.
First: We are removing faster wiggle progression from great skill checks. Hitting all great skill checks could shave off a whole second. While this sounds small, it can be the difference between wiggling free and getting hooked. Rather than increasing wiggle speed, great skill checks will instead increase the amount the Killer sways while carrying you by 20%. Great skill check success zones have also been increased in size since they are now less impactful. Good skill checks, on the other hand, still bump the Killer, but 50% less than was previously normal.
Second: We have added a new sound for non-attempts (i.e. not attempting to hit a skill check at all). Previously, this would play the missed skill check sound, which can be a little intense when played over and over if you’ve decided not to wiggle. This new sound will be much more subtle.
Third: We have cleaned up the new system’s interaction with Decisive Strike. Previously, wiggle skill checks would start immediately after the Decisive Strike skill check. This caught a lot of people off guard and caused some confusion. There is now a short (0.5 second) delay after the Decisive Strike skill check before wiggle skill checks appear. You’ll be credited a small amount of wiggle progress to make up for the added delay before these skill checks appear.
You know I was just thinking this, the answer is probably yes, and they'll get to it when they get to it

We'll know for sure with the PTB tomorrow, but I'd guess these either don't stack, or won't by the time it goes live based on PTB feedback.
Even if it does stack, they've added hooks to Thompson house and deleted the upper RPD library entirely since that patch.
I'm unsure, it depends what this comment means:
Good skill checks, on the other hand, still bump the Killer, but 50% less than was previously normal.
By 'default', that means killers are wiggling 50% less at base, since not hitting skill checks at all doesn't cause them to sway (as far as I remember anyway), so is the 20% increase for great skill checks based on this new reduced figure? Or what we currently have?
it sounds like less wiggle than pre-nerf but more time on the shoulder for the killer. PC players needed the buff tbh. Not sure how it'll feel on console until the patch drops. It also means survivors have to hit every single skill check and still hope the killer struggles to reach the hook.
Wiggle skill checks increasing struggle is going to hurt console killers only, pc will be fine. The 1 second impacted all platforms equally. I think console killers are going to have way more survivors wiggle free thanks to this change than they did with the 1 second difference.
Exactly! PC needs the significant wiggle buff because it's still too easy to hook someone and doesn't even feel like you're fighting them.
