The others a re correct, the definition varies by who you ask.
In general, I'd consider teams that have builds specifically for doing gens, work them while injured, and last-second hook save, all to be efficient as possible.

Before I say anything else, to make it clear, I think all the other changes are pretty much fine. Automatically targeting survivors when you open a biopod is absolutely insipid however- I can literally spam the camera switch button until someone happens to run across one of my cameras then I can immediately target them. Putting aside anything to do with mechanics or differences between mouse/controller, The autoaim literally erases the gamesense required to play the killer well which is a slap in the face for anyone who ever bothered playing him.
Also, it took me like 6 seconds of searching to find good Singularity players, on controller. They did fine.
Could it possibly be that singularity "doesn't" need the game to play itself for the sake of console players???
We can't set aside the controller and M&K differences here, it's how Singularity feels to play & his effectiveness that drove many of these changes.

Yeah, I've seen trials go for like a minute and a half before a DC while loading kicks in and eventually stops the match. I've seen a gen pop and then the game stopped. Not too common, but it happens.

It got moved to the feedback section by a mod. There's more to the forums than just General Discussions.
While this is true, most of the eyeballs are only there. It was like a year or so for me before I regularly went into the Feedback area. It certainly is not clear that other areas exist, and the foot traffic outside of General Discussions is painfully small.

It's 2024. There's got to be a way to correct this. Minimally since the killer has "won" that chase, the survivor should be moved to the killers feet when the adjustment occurs.
You've let the survivors have so many advantages over the last year or so, it's time to give something back to the killers.
I'd take this fix over the hook respawn. Thank you.
If you're referring to what looks like the surv slightly teleporting around when downed, I think that's the latency catching up and re-syncing everything.
So that would depend on everyone's ping first and foremost, then on the games performance on your particular platform and that surv's as well. DBD's coding has always struggled with these issues mightily.

There are some killers where suicide on hook is common, e.g. Skull Merchant, Legion, and Pinhead. Suicide on hook is effectively a DC, so the match should be excluded. I think this is fairly simple. Just exclude games where the first person that dies fails multiple skill checks during 2nd stage. In most cases, this is a suicide on hook.
I'm not sure they do track 4% attempts like that, or if they can. But yeah, I'd like to see such a breakdown as well.

I had gotten hooked and ghost face went into his stealth mode hiding behind a box camping me. My bar wasnt filling up. I personally (i know its a strong word but) hate killers like that. They ruin the game for everyone. has that happened to any of you guys before
If the Ghost Face was at least 16 meters away that bar won't fill up, crouched or not. If another surv was also close to the hook it won't fill either.
Otherwise y'all might have encountered some kind of bug.

Even the ban waves are mostly a placebo, because since the free giveaway on EGS cheaters use a virtually unlimited supply of free new accounts. That's why 99% of cheaters you encounter now are on EGS.
Still best to continue to send in the legit reports, it's how we can help the most.

I don't know you guys, but the amount of hackers I face have increased significantly since the last week.
Look, this is actually more serious than I think. In my whole DBD journey, I've seen hackers, but not like these ones. The hackers I've faced was OBVIOUS, they were scream-spamming, blinding me for the entire match, killing and reviving themselves… but, let's say, these "new generation" of hackers are not doing these. They are doing it so silently you only understand when they reach the last hook.(Like happened with the Otzdarva, but even more sneaky) They give themselves small temporary haste status effect during loops, and only use it when they break LOS.
I'm a Legion player. That's why, most of the time, thanks to my frenzy I can see 1-sec refreshing locations of survivors with Killer Instinct. They sometimes think just because they can't see me, they can use their hack and that is when I find out they are hacker. They make MASSIVE distance(worth of 15 seconds) and I have to cancel my frenzy because of that.
Again, they use it so sneaky you don't understand until they give a clear sign. They don't even use their speedhacks -their temporary haste provider- for like few seconds, we are talking about a single second and even milliseconds. I start a loop with someone, I am definitely sure my mindgame has worked and I am getting a hit, and when they break LOS, they make a suspicious amount of distance and somehow get to the pallet. Than, I understand they are a hacker after experiencing this in the same game multiple times in a row because I played this game for f*cking 1600 hours.
I know there were hackers in all eras of the game but this is something new I believe. They use it smartly.
And yeah, I reported every one of them. (I've seen 4 I believe) When I booted up the game, I was glad to see this screen, though I want all of them:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/56RCJLBBMKTZ/20240626213326-1.jpg
Keep reporting them, best thing to do. They tend to ban in huge waves, as they figure out how it's being done and patch up those holes.
I hope some day their reporting system gets more streamlined and user friendly. Our Switch cousins cannot even record their matches anymore, dunno what they're even supposed to do.

The killer might've been destroyed by a bully squad in the previous game, so it's understandable why they would do this. The source of all toxicity in DbD are SWFs.
Even if such a killer was pushed around the prior trial, it ends up doing no good to take frustrations out on the next group, who are innocent in this situation. All this does is continue the vicious cycle we need to break free from. It is very human to react that way yes, but all it does is make things worse.
-
The Killswitch is for the worst of the game-breaking stuff.
The Badhams are more of the soul-draining variety, depending on the survs you get and the killer you're running.
-
For me it was the opposite. I was already aware of most of the first half of licenced killers, and had already played far too much Silent Hill and the RE's before DBD.

Honestly it's just Backwater Swamp.
It's long overdue for a rework, tracking scratchmarks/red-stain is a pain due to my red-green colorblindness. It is generally a really ugly map with little to no visual appeal to it. Totems spawn at the very edge of the map and finding the hatch takes forever and makes matches an absolute slog. The Generator spread is really compact so there is hardly a reason to leave one side of the map, especially with the decent main building being easy to run.
The ONLY redeeming quality to are the holes in the main building(s) since it is funny to bait the Killer into the hole… outside of that, there really isnt much of a reason for me to like it.
I'm definitely in the minority for loving the Swamps, in either role, and I played them back when they were so much larger years ago. For whatever reason I've always done much better than I ought of on them as a surv or as killer.
Visually yeah they're so behind all other realms.
-
Yeah it will depend on how your stuff was acquired, in the platform store and whether it was with cells or not. I imagine all unlocked perks and items and character levels will move over. Some cosmetics may not.
-
I wish there weren't mains. Not players who prefer one role but do play both sides. I mean those who just play one role only, not even for dailies or challenges, not picking up the other side ever. I believe doing this creates awful biases, and prevents any empathy at all for the others playing the opposite role.
Imo when we play both sides to at least a competent level not only will we be better at our preferred role, but create a much healthier community overall.

It's ridiculous that this hasn't been in the game for 4+ years, like why not add it? Isn't most of the player base on console anyway?
Yeah most of the playerbase is on the consoles.
The largest portion is on the PlayStations, about half still on the PS4 machines. Those on Xbox would be next in size, and then there's an astonishing amount that play this game on the Switch still. Love you Switch cousins! After that would PC, with most on Steam and then smaller amounts on Epic and Windows, and then I guess the SteamDeck is in there somewhere too.
I do wish we could see actual numbers, but Iknow they cannot release that. For comparison those on the PlayStations outnumber those on Steam by a bunch. Xbox I think is a bit larger than Steam as well. All typical for larger titles that have CrossPlay plus strong Twitch streamers & regular YouTube content.
It is strange M&K support didn't come when CrossPlay was introduced though.

I wonder if the other killer can reset traps that have been placed/triggered.
They said there would be killer power synergies, such as Wraith causing the other killer to become undetectable while cloaked. Maybe the Trapper's synergy is that, while the other killer can't place traps, they can reset already placed traps.
Imagine the two killers on comms, with the Trapper saying push that surv over there I've tapped that window. Or I'm running Bloody Coil they're going down either way at that loop. Or wait for the last gen to pop then smack em, I have NOED.
Things like that might be turning the tables on survs on comms! 😂

That scamper was made practically useless is whatever, but the fact that the "Joke's On You" achievement remains absolutely sucks. I've been trying to do it and his maneuverability is garbage while scampering, especially right after I get out from under the pallet where I'm locked into running forward for a bit. A survivor who hugs the loop right next to the pallet is perfectly safe, as is someone who just stands in front of the pallet and doesn't move. I'm locked into running past them and I can't turn around. It's maddening.
Either the scamper or the achievement needs changing, because this sucks.
Changing achievements & trophies is no small task, particularly on the consoles. So long as it's technically possible to obtain them they resist mightily any change to them.

There were so many changes to him which were just unnecessary, and necessary changes which didn't end up happening. His biggest weakness is that EMPs are too strong (taking out multiple cameras and curing multiple survivors simultaneously), and his infection can also be cured automatically by being hooked. It's got to be one or the other. Otherwise, you just get games where you're spending all game infecting and not chasing, or you're chasing and not inflecting. There is currently no time for both. Tru3 rightly points out that the cameras should be left facing the position you last left them in, because you place them looking at a gen, and next time you switch to it, it's looking at the default position which is a branch, a wall, or a rock. The highlighting of survivors didn't need to go. If you can't see them, how are you gonna scan them? 🤷♀️
I agree with those cameras being left in their last position absolutely.
My issues with Singularity are so many tiny things blocking the pods (like leaves and other junk) and the miserable time tracking & camera movement with a controller. I'm hoping some of these changes improve all of that.

Yes, in fact, I would. Again, it wouldn't be ideal, and I don't believe Bhvr would give us the ideal solution, but I'd gladly sactifice an addon slot to turn this autoaim off over not having the option to turn it off at all. I only suggest it the other way around since I figured M&K was the more popular way to play the game, since it has its origins on PC.
I imagine many players on the consoles would use a M&K for killer if they could, but sadly it is not supported.
@adsads123123123123 is quite correct, the vast majority of the playerbase is not on any of the PCs.

it's not elitism. If your prefered form of input is so unbelievably bad that it requires the game to be trivialized for everyone else it shouldn't be considered for game design in anyways. You can plug in a MnK into modern consoles. Your refusal to not handicap yourself shouldn't force devs into removing all mechanical skill from games.
The others are correct here, you cannot use a M&K for any of the consoles to play DBD, they do not support it. This has been begged for many many times over the years, and in pretty much every Q&A as well, and the answer has always been they have no plans to add it.
The only reasoning I've ever seen is several years back they said it would take too long to add, be way too much work to implement, and also require some kind of UI update on top of that. So it ain't coming. If you play DBD on any of the consoles, which is most of the playerbase, then you're using a controller. For survs it's not too bad, even preferred for some movements, but for killer well....
I encourage all of our PC cousins to borrow a friend's PS5 or whatever and fire up some DBD, find out for themselves.

In addition it's still not 100% consistent, especially if your time is running out and often on round objects you still slide, some cars are also still not 100% consistent. So they sacrificed a colision that was more or less consistent if you know what you're doing, for a collision that's still not perfect and you can't even hit 180 around corners anymore if you're running on the wall directly because you'll always bump.
Also doors are near impossible to navigate now, RPD is so much worse now. Garden of joy bushes are also much worse somehow xD
I've always considered the Swamps to be the absolute worst for him with collisions, most likely due to the age of those maps.

My friends and I had this cool idea for a character where it was a monster who acts like a survivor. Something to keep people on their toes. I'll explain a little bit more
Skills/Ability -
- The Mimic turns into a survivor's character model, maybe with a faint glow or something to throw people off. Can not hit in this form and stuns when lost. Can be deactivated by stuns.
- It can pretend to do tasks such as repairing generators or fake a heal, and/or make injured sounds.
- Survivors who perform a coop task with this killer become exposed for 5 seconds
Passives -
Up for debate but
1. When near a generator for 5/4/3? seconds, become undetectable
2. Hex: Your terror radius shrinks 10/12/14? meters when the exit gates are powered (or smaller radius for more survivors hooked?)
3. Can destroy generatorswhile making 50/75/100% less noise
This concept to me sounds really fun. A killer who keeps survivors on their toes for more than just traps on the ground. It'd make a fun character to interact with survivors more than the current ones and something I think would be kinda terrifying to have to go up against.
Wouldn't players on comms negate this power completely?

@Shaddoll_Serpent said:
Figure I'd toss my hat in the ring since my main's getting some rather big updates and everyone's talking about this.
Long story short: It's mostly good, minus just a few things I'd like tweaked in this way:
- Remove camera auto aim as it really lowers the skill floor of the killer making him feel more auto pilot and could be a nuisance for most people since it may lead to the camera aiming and locking on to the wrong survivor. (I think Singularity may be too oppressive with both a lower skill floor and the buffs to Overclock, I feel like only one or the other should've been done and not both at once like the rework has done.)
- Remove killer instinct from a slipstream for the same reason of that it dumbs down this killer, which I don't like. (I'll have to see how long it is to really get an idea for it, but if it's too short then it's pointless and if it's too long then it'll be too crutch, and I don't think there's a middle ground between either of these two options hence why I just said to remove it.)
- Remove all EMP nerfs except for the printing stopping at a certain point and lower the progress to 80%. (Even though they're pretty small, I think the EMP nerfs are too much in combination with the buffs to Overclock and also make his 3 gen playing style more potent. I only want the other nerf to stay because it addresses one of the most unfun aspects of EMPs which is survivors grabbing them mid chase, which I've opted to buff because the 97% threshold was not enough to eliminate this strategy.)
More detailed explanation digging into every change bit by bit.
1. The adjustments that make Singularity easier to play.
- [NEW] Taking control of a Biopod will now cause it to aim at the nearest Survivor within line of sight.
- [NEW] The Killer now receives Killer Instinct when a Survivor is Slipstreamed.
Heavily dislike. Dumbs him down and lowers his skill floor out of hopes that the average killer main will play him more. Reminder that just because only a small amount of people play the killer doesn't mean that they're in a poor spot. Just means their playing style isn't fun to most people which is completely subjective. Singularity has a niche kit that may be too overbearing for most of the community to want to use, but is heavily rewarding to those who have put in the time to get accustomed to the killer and master it so I don't want to see this complexity ruined. Not to mention that this feels like too much in combination with the buffs to Overclock and may make him very overtuned and not fun to face when everyone will be able to play Singularity just by simply pressing a button essentially. No more having to use good game sense to locate the survivor with a camera when it'll automatically do it for you. I like how Singularity's power required a lot of input from the user making him the exact opposite of a killer like Skull Merchant who's literally just pressing a button and you get all this information and effects for practically free which is what I feel like the camera auto aim is going to do. Please consider reverting this and the killer instinct nerfs, and if you want to do something to make him more controller friendly, just make the shooter automatically stay targeted on a survivor once you locate them and position the shooter.
2. The nerfs to EMPs.
- [NEW] Passive EMP printing at Supply Cases is now limited to 97%. The remaining progress must be done manually by a Survivor.
- [NEW] Supply Cases that have reached the passive printing limit now have their auras revealed in yellow.
- [CHANGE] Decreased the aura reading range of Supply Cases to 28 meters (was 32 meters).
- [CHANGE] Decreased range of EMPs to 8 meters (was 10 meters).
- [CHANGE] Decrease immunity to Slipstream after using an EMP to 0.35 seconds (was 2 seconds).
Dislike all as well, except for the top one. EMPs were never much of an issue for an experienced Singularity, and reducing their effectiveness will make him way more powerful with his overclock now being massively more rewarding. Technically, the last three are pretty minor changes, but I still don't like the idea when I think EMPs are fine and should be kept at the same effectiveness. As said before, the top one's the only one I appreciate and think is warranted since survivors grabbing EMPs mid chase is incredibly unfun to deal, but this sadly isn't effective enough to accomplish that. Like I said before: Revert all of these except for the top one and limit it to 80% progress which should hopefully stop survivors from grabbing them mid chase and feel more like they require some more input to be grabbed unlike the current version where they're essentially given away like free candy.
3. The Overclock buffs.
- [NEW] The Singularity gains 3% Haste while in Overclock mode.
- [REMOVED] Overclock’s duration no longer scales with the number of Slipstreamed Survivors.
- [CHANGE] Increased Overclock’s base duration to 5.7 seconds (was 4.7 seconds).
- [CHANGE] Stuns caused by Perks (such as Head On, Blast Mine) during Overclock mode will now cause Overheat.
Kinda mixed on these to be honest as there's some good and bad to all these changes, but I overall like these more than hate them. I feel like the main issue with Singularity for newcomers is that his power didn't feel rewarding enough to use since teleporting doesn't actually guarantee a hit, but this should do a great job to address that. 3% Haste is a significant buff as we'll now have two addons to use once more without the downside of Soma Family Phot and should make him feel much better to play under the hands of someone who's less accustomed to the killer especially with longer Overclock. This is another big reason why I don't want the skill floor of this killer lowered as people don't realize that this is actually a huge buff to the killer's power and giving him basekit Soma in combination with an easier to use power will make him very oppressive, very unfun to verse, and less satisfying to play overall. I dislike the duration no longer getting increased with every slipstreamed survivor, but at the same time, kind of appreciate it for the sake of simplicity and the fact that a longer Overclock can sometimes hinder the Singularity since it means longer time till you can tp again. Perks not stunning is whatever, it's honestly pretty pointless because the times I feel like I've ever been stunned by these perks while in Overclock is next to nothing, but I still don't like it because I don't feel like it's fair for specific survivor perks to be eliminated by a killer power so I would just reverting this change personally.
4. The QoL improvements.
- [NEW] After 0.25 seconds, targeting progress now decays over the next 0.5 seconds.
- [CHANGE] When controlling a Biopod, Survivor now only glow if they can be targeted.
- [CHANGE] Decreased Biopod targeting cooldown after Slipstreaming a Survivor to 3 seconds (was 3.5 seconds).
- [CHANGE] Improved UI when using Biopods and when shooting with the Killer.
- [NEW] Added the ability to destroy the currently controlled Biopod.
- [CHANGE] The Killer can now hear audio by default when controlling a Biopod.
- [CHANGE] The last controlled Biopod has its aura revealed in yellow for 10 seconds (was 5 seconds).
- [NEW] Added an aim assist effect to shooting a Slipstreamed Survivor.
- [CHANGE] Increased an aim assist when creating a Biopods.
- [NEW] Disabled Biopods will pulse shortly before they are reactivated.
- [CHANGE] Reduced the time it takes to switch back to The Singularity to 0.5 seconds (was 1 second).
- [CHANGE] Reduced the time it takes to switch back to The Singularity when near a hooked Survivor to 1.5 seconds (was 5 seconds).
Easily my favorite part of the rework as I've wanted a majority of these for a long time. No more leaves impacting my ability to tag is great, destroying a currently controlled biopod will be a massive W to get rid of bad pods I left near the ground level by accident when trying to tp, Ultrasonic Sensor becoming basekit is awesome, no one would ever want to devote an addon slot for accessibility, longer time to see the last controlled pod will be helpful, aim assist for shooting slipstreamed survivors and for creating biopods is fantastic, will eliminate so much frustration that even experienced Singularity mains face, pulsing before reactivation is a nice tweak for survivors, and the reduced time to wake up especially when near a hook is A MASSIVE MASSIVE HEART. Thank you so much for all of these, these are all the main things I've always wanted for this killer above buffs. Please please please don't change any of these! This is all fantastic!
5. Closing notes and final thoughts.
- [CHANGE] Updated various Add-Ons.
I'm glad to see his addons getting some attention, but I just hope that there'll be a couple buffs/reworks to a lot of his lesser used addons because Singularity has A LOT of useless/niche addons, and no nerfs to perfectly fine existing addons like what happened to Sadako's Reiko's Watch.
Overall, quite happy to see my favorite killer get some love, but as one last thing, allow me to say this again: Please do not lower this killer's skill floor. It'll kill a lot of the fun for me and not make him feel as satisfying. I like macro based killers and I love Singularity for requiring far more effort and brain power to use than the likes of Hag or Merchant so I'll be very disappointed to see him get dumbed down to where it feels like anyone could play him and 4k with minimal to no effort.

You mentioned their approach to making Singularity more controller friendly. The auto-aim is intended to mitigate the problem of not being able to quickly fling around with the joy sticks for the camera, let alone aiming in this game in general.
The dead zones in those sticks plus the input delay make it almost impossible to move the camera quick enough, and is why all ranged killers are a billion times more difficult with a controller to run them effectively. You simply cannot react fast enough with the pods like you can with M&K.
-
The changes to Singularity are to make him more accessible and less clunky, plus the auto-aim is necessary to even run him with a controller.

Playing more doesn't magically make it easier to aim on console with sluggish joystick responses. And as with all ranged killers in this game, you can't increase the joystick sensitivity for aiming as you then end up with it being too sensitive for general movement.
The autoaim when switching to a biopod was essential QoL. Console players can't just swing their camera around in a fraction of a second like M&K players, normally by the time you panned around to look for survivors they've already vanished.
This.
I (and I imagine most killers who have to play with a controller) gave up on Singularity long ago. And it was primarily because of his pod aiming being sluggish and unresponsive. If they could not have the tiniest branch or leaf block the pod collisions, he'd be better for everyone regardless of platform.
Hopefully these changes address some of that, just as removing recoil from Trickster suddenly made him playable as well. I view changes like this to Singularity the same way.

You guys all cry about swf but often information people give each other is:
- hey, where are you getting chased?
- uhh, i dont know? in a corner
- which one?
- i dont know!
- okay
xDDD
Hey watch out he's running Knockout!
You recovering? Where are you?'
I'm behind the thing. Where you were earlier. No no the other thing, next to the broken pallet. Not that one, on the other side, by that vault you used at the start.

Afraid it's only Trapper, Wraith, Billy, Nurse and Huntress for now. They said they wanted to add more killers with every "iteration".
So a Wraith corralling survs into traps? I like it.

Piggy and Ghostie trading yoinks off gens lets gooooooooo!

I always found Hag to be ineffective, no matter how long I tried to mess around with her. Without being to insta-swing on teleport the survs get ok much distance against a slower killer.

Less likely? I only ever get sandbagged by my friends :D:D They once bodyblocked me into a corner so I would die from endgame XD
Ok ok ok, so maybe one of my friends whenever against Plague will spend the entire trial puking on me! 😂🤣

If you're going to play as the Pig, just kill them in the game asap so they don't have to put up with her stealth. 🤗
But yeeting unsuspecting survs off of gens is a wonderful experience! 🐽🐷

For people that play killer have you ever had games where you have no intent of tunneling but there's just one survivor that's just very obviously worse than the other three?
Never hides effectively, doesn't last in chase has very little game sense and does things like just stands at hook too long after being unhooked while the unhooker is long gone?
What do you do in these situations? It seems like if it's not a SWF the team never takes chase for these types of people and you know you could get them dead in record time if you wanted to but it seems mean especially now with anni going on? Lately on death hook if I down them I'll slug them once and give them one more chance but it tends not to make a difference and they still wind up dying first no matter what. I wanna play my role and actually kill but it seems like the matchmaker just doesn't work for one person in every lobby and it feels bad.
It could be a more experienced player trying to teach a newbie, much more likely a backfill due to lobby dodging. I tend to slug them if found again, and kill them last if possible.
