Blood Favor, Crowd Control, Ruin, Haunted Grounds. There’s 4.
Haunted popping at the right time can allow you to snowball so hard. Very satisfying when it works like that.
Annnnnndddddd then there's the scenario when you're chasing an injured surv, it pops, and then you down them and the rest hide & wait it out. Basically the definition of the high risk high reward potential. It's that potential that needs to be carefully balanced.

When Head On is active, it should highlight the locker you’re in for other survivors, so they can set up a play.
Yeah is should, as it would increase its usefulness among solos.

Nightlight does not have the complete picture, they could be widely inaccurate.
Nightlight cant be used as an argument vs bHVR's stats.I agree. It's useful for trends and can sometimes line up with the data the devs put out themselves. But Nightlight lacks global coverage, both literally and figuratively.

Nice I didnt know that. But I'm sure the time frame to get it ended long ago. We already have a huge in-game store & im sure they could squeeze a banner/badge section in there somewhere.

I’m on PlayStation and we can’t do it.
However everything other game I can. Dbd should add this.
It's the same on the PlayStations too? Didn't know that.

Please BHVR add an “Appear offline” feature for the friends list. I just wanna play without being bothered by friends and want to avoid the awkward conversation of “don’t feel like playing with you” today.
If you're on Xbox as I am they cannot do this, as it would violate some of the Xbox visibility guidelines. It's also the reason we can't use their Anonymous Mode. So even if I select Appear Offline it'll still show me playing DBD on my profile, either in game or in the menu.
Maybe others can speak to how it works on the other platforms if you're on one of them.

I enjoyed most things released this year with a few exceptions.
1- The Chucky nerf was way too much. The rat poison nerf was enough. The slower slice and dice feels really weird paired with a longer CD to his power makes his map presence very bad.
2- Dracula hellfire nerf makes no sense. He was fine, the only thing needed was the Medusa add on nerf and bat form cd.3- Shoulder the Burden is way too strong and widens the gap when used by SWF teams, is basically a win card.
4- Sadako intermittent invisibility is still busted and the add on still does nothing. She could also use a small buff to her condemn mechanic, turning off tvs and carrying tapes must have a downside.
5- Ghostface buffs were a bit, underwhelming.
6- Liked the 2vs8 yet we can all agree survivors were way too strong.7- In general, I wish they could take a deeper look into what’s possible to achieve in game when you have a group of competent survivors and actually balance the game considering that. The non community approved killer strategies emerged due current possibilities survivors have, there’s way too many downsides to hook people and spread those hooks. Add a “try to stop bleeding” option for slugged survivors after 1 min, give them 3, 4% chances to get up or die. You could also add an add on that improves those odds. Buff a bit regression perks for killers so spreading hooks feel a bit more rewarding.
Imagine a syringe or something on a medkit that when in the dying state give ya a one shot in three or sumsuch to get up, otherwise you bleed out and die. Prolly be Broken for a minute or so too, uses up the medkit, etc.

during the Halloween event, p100 survivor/lvl 50 bloodwebs were bugged to barely give event items and instead gave a ton of event offerings and addons. It seems the same is done for this bone chill event. I spent half a million on my p100 nea already and I only have 6 winter party starters and 30 of the new offerings. I wouldn’t have that big of an issue if it wasn’t for the fact that the offering is personal AND event exclusive. Also I’ve seen that I most of the time get 1-2 event nodes in my bloodweb where in the past it’s guaranteed 3 or more event nodes. I’m hoping this is all a bug and can get fixed but judging by the fact the 2nd hotfix when out today I doubt we will get any changes towards this event
Maybe limited event stuff in the bloodweb should be global across all of your unlocked survs or killers at the same levels?

Indeed. It would be great if many things could improve in various ways.
After the sacrifice phase ends, I check the killer's perks and add-ons without saying anything special in the chat and go straight back to the lobby.
In my region, there surely are people who use chat for personal attacks, but I rarely see it myself.
It seems that other regions experience this kind of behavior quite frequently. It's quite unfortunate for them.I believe you're taking the position of just what a PC player sees and has for DBD. Who's on what platform does vary greatly by region (and even by MMR to a lesser extent) just as playstyles do.
However the devs have to take the entire playerbase into consideration, and by far most players are on one of the various consoles and not on a PC. This means the average DBD player cannot look around at profiles, has no chat box to use, and in the case of Xbox cannot even use their Anonymous Mode anyway.
Personally I believe no one should be able to sift through profiles at all for this game, and not being able to would greatly improve the matchmaking overall, just as not showing Prestiges did after testing.

@BALJADA said:
I initially believed that the anonymous mode feature was introduced to support live streamers.
However, this feature is available to all users equally. Unfortunately, it is widely exploited by users engaging in illegal activities or toxic behavior. While many legitimate players also use this feature, it comes with a significant drawback.
The main issue lies in the in-game block function. When anonymous mode was first introduced, the block feature worked as intended. However, it is now impossible to block users who are in anonymous mode. From what I’ve heard, the block list is limited to 20 users, and once that limit is reached, no additional blocks can be made. This means that players engaging in toxic behavior—regardless of whether they are using illegal programs—cannot be identified or blocked, which is highly problematic.
To be honest, after observing this feature over time, I fail to understand why it was developed in the first place.
Some players argue that anonymous mode allows them to enjoy the game more comfortably by protecting their privacy, but it is clear that many users abuse it. Additionally, when players are reported in-game, there is no transparency about whether any action was taken against them or what the outcome of the report was.
This game has been running for eight years now, but it’s disappointing to see such fundamental issues remain unresolved. I sincerely hope this matter is addressed.
As someone who loves this game and has been playing since its early days, I believe that if there are no plans to take action regarding the anonymous mode, the unreasonable restriction of limiting the block list to just 20 players must be removed.
I wasn't aware of this 20 player limit existing that's news to me. The argument against having block lists in the first place is it being open to abuse, should people block because they are just better than them, play a killer they dislike, run builds they object to, etc. Things separate from "toxic" gameplay. This can then be problematic especially with SWF groups, as that could potentially mess with matchmaking as well.
Also their Anonymous Mode certainly is not equally available to all players, as those on Xbox cannot even use it for DBD.

I blame the Endgame Collapse for that.
This mechanic has always been a terrible, terrible addition to the game. Sure, it solved the problem of survivors holding the game hostage (which I have never seen happen, not once) but it removed everything that made the end-game interesting.
You can't have interesting plays or strategies when the game is forcing you to leave, there is simply not enough time. Hell, an entire build that was created around extending the game after the gens were done (Endgame Pig) got literally deleted from existence to make way for that mechanic.
A tactical part of the game got replaced with the idea of ending the match ASAP, and that was never good or healthy for DBD.
I do miss my endgame Piggly Wiggly plays...

This Chucky Update makes him feel so clunky. The slice and dice isn't able to be used in chase like it was before. Can we get a somewhat decent curve rate to it? Or better yet, give us the scamper back to its original form, so that it's actually viable.
At least The Pig didn't get nerfed.

I'm not sure what "fantasy scenario" you're taking about, since I very specifically describe the situation that is generally considered "the tombstone achievement dilemma".
The killer has opportunity and ability to kill a survivor and isn't doing it (specifically in hopes of being gifted the achievement). That's where the problem is.
The sportsmanlike reaction to this should be "well, darn. I was close but looks like this isn't in the cards this match. I'm going to hook you and try again next, gg!"
So why isn't the killer doing that?
@AlexXHunter44 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3853532#Comment_3853532
In the situation you are describing the game is already over. If the survivor can actually still survive, it's not bad sportsmanship by the killer its a bad play by the killer.
Now if you want to actually talk about the subject and not a made up fantasy scenario, as I said both sides have the ability to end the match at any point they want to. It's not on either side to end it the way the other wants, both are allowed to play for their goals as long as they aren't holding thr match hostage. Which in this scenario the killer isn't doing.
Prolly the best way to handle this scenario would be to have the locker eject the surv once they have three crows, putting them in the dying state. It then leaves the killer with the option to pick them up or not, so the trial ends with the hook or in the four bleed out minutes, but not when the server finally closes.
Still not getting the achievement, but still not taking an hour either.

Current side objectives in the game aren't worth the time investment and rarely impact the outcome of a match. When survivors ask for side objectives they want ones that can actually influence the match or give a reward like 50% more BP or something.
Imagine if every half a unique gen survs do they get a stack (like old BBQ gave per unique hook) that gives a 20% PB bonus (again just like old BBQ) and each totem cleaned gives 5% as well.
-

This debate even happing speaks more to a problem with that Achievement/Trophy than anything else. This is one of those instances where I wish it wasn't so very very difficult to change achievements, much like the one for Huntress longshots.

@Crownless said:
I think daily's should be split up. you should get 1 survivor daily and 1 killer daily. Personally i like to pair daily's with the rift, using the characters assigned to complete the tome. But it really sucks when you get a lot of one in a row. Especially considering that they don't really give a whole of blood points and it would be good way to rewards people who play both sides.
The original intent of this system was to encourage players to play the opposite role when playing the other a bunch in a row. The devs stated long ago they themselves weren't happy with this system, but hasn't been updated since then. The matchmaking bonuses overshadow it nowadays.

-
3 surv matches were always terrible the get back in the day. One less gen to do was not enough right at the beginning to make up for being a surv down. The killer would have to be an utter potato not to easily dominate at that point.
Whenever I'd load into such a trial I would usually farm the rivets right off of my traps trying to get them some bloodpoints, and meme all over the place.
No one should want these kinds of matches back again.

Personally I would just make it so that if you're ping is over 100, you can't access that lobby. Also, give Asia and South America their own servers. No reason for them not to have their own.
I'm all for better server coverage globally, but I'm not sure it'll ever happen. Also Australia is still using metal instead of fiber so their pings are rough as well, and for whatever reason they're popped into multiple regions constantly too.
I imagine a third to half of all DBD players worldwide have ping over 70.
-
@NotAnotherDoctor said:
Dear Devs,
Will there ever be a time where you address the use of VPN and start to ban for this blatant cheating? Using a VPN to get an advantage in a party game is one step down from hacking and going against killers with 300+ ping is terrible behaviour. How would they know if a VPN is being used or not? Many players are far from the DBD servers, particularly in Asia and South America, causing brutal pings too.
-
There's just too many variables when it comes to map balance, the largest one being which killer gets which map.
The closest imo would be the Swamps currently.

What's going on with this game on Xbox?
Builds resetting back to 0 when you logout, cosmetics resetting back to default when you logout.
Survive with friends lobbies not taking the Xbox player with them and leaving them in the pre-lobby
Chem trap not being a prompt and therefore not being able to be used.
This needs patched urgently
The last time my cosmetics and builds & charms all got reset was years a back when I updated the game and started it up during that update when it stated "Ready to Start" before fully updating.
Since then I let it complete the patch before firing up DBD, and luckily I haven't had had everything reset on me like you describe.

There is a lot of lobby dodging going on on EU West servers right now for both roles. Everytime I get into a lobby at least one person is already ready, or suvivors / killers are missing. That combined with a "low" player count is deadly for propper matchmaking.
Pretty sure that was one of that lobbies.
Doesn't help with the new player experience when this happens, and that's already rough for this game. Yet another argument against having the current lobbies at all.
All the doing and shopping around does more harm than good, no matter the reasons to do it.
-
Obviously this shouldn't have happened.
The only thing I can think of is that Meg could have been the most experienced of them and was showing this brand new group the game, and this lobby was dodged multiple times (due to them having base cosmetics maybe?) and once they were waiting long enough the system grabbed the next available killer.
I find that scenario more likely than anything to do with your MMR.
