iron will is indeed really ######### strong.

but for some reason lucky break is the one with a timer...

Also, why does Nurse have footstep sounds? She is literally hovering two feet off the ground....

    she does?

Play her on Swamp and Red Forest with the squishy sounds added and you'll hear distinct goot prints. I've also noticed it on grass heavy maps, it's not a rustling grass sound but an actual footsteps in grass sound.

  • Nah, as Hag or Wraith I'll dodge multiple flashies. And I'll often dodge TTVs because if I'm having an off game I don't want that ######### broadcast anywhere.

Well, while I’m here, any perks help with judging the distance? Like if I’m doing the hook strat cheese, is Make Your Choice gunna help me?

Yeah, Make Your Choice is how I cheesed it.

  • Put on Make Your Choice then stand back from a hook until it lights up. Ready a Hatchet and launch it right after the rescue. Took me around 6 or 7 matches of doing that and just farming it. I usually let everyone go cause it's a ######### play style to grind an achievement.

The reason it's 100 on PS is because they decreased the number but Sony has stipulations with their trophies where they cannot be changed for some reason.

  • When I see how you've typed Beast if Prey I'm just picturing the pope as a werewolf, get it, a Beast if Pray not prey lol

In regards to your changes however, I feel Small Game needs a longer cool down if it's going to show auras for traps and totems. With only 20 seconds you can completely deny Trappers power by just walking around. Beast of Prey, reversing it's effect entirely.... This change could pair well with Coulrophobia, Unnerving Presence, and Overwhelming Presence but would essentially be a worse version of two other perks, Distressing and Monitor & Abuse.

Blight isn't bugged, they very deliberately chose to give him that PoV. You don't put dozens and dozens of hours into animations, working with an identical model to the one the survivors see, without realising that his PoV is super low.

Yeah, it was intentional to begin with to, if I remember a dev saying right, avoid unwanted collision with lower objects to the ground. The problem they didn't take into account were short wall loops where survivors could see Blight but he couldn't see them and after so much complaint of his POV they spent dozens more hours reworking animations to raise his POV to be in line with his face.

  • Hag's POV is actually higher than Blight's, not by much but with her you aren't blind to the Survivors locations at low loops and walls whereas with Blight they can always see you but you can't see them.

  • In a case like that, don't feel afraid as killer to just dodge the lobby, you shouldn't have to torture yourself by playing that lobby if it makes you feel sick and gives you that "this is gonna be awful" gut feeling. They'll have a new killer in a very short time and you'll have a new lobby withing a couple minutes max.

When I want to play Hag or Wraith I'm not gonna play a lobby loaded with flashlights, or Nurse against a bunch of Blendettes.

  • I had one tonight I couldn't even pick up. I was playing Clown and got a hit through a pallet while they were intoxicated by the gas and they just stood there, didn't even make noise.

  • Mine for Survivor is Stake Out, that bonus gen progression just for being near a killer for a short time along with a small bonus to BPs is so fantastic.

It's to prevent people who abuse DS to force a hook grab

And helps avoid endgame DS plays where one will unhook and both get out the gate with no repercussions for an unsafe unhook.

  • Imo they just need to get rid of passive sleep build up.

  • Tapp would be my choice as Detectives Hunch and Stakeout are both great perks, the best Jane has to offer is Head On which is only good for tilting killers and the very very off chance you get a save from it.

    in Grind Comment by JHondo
  • I feel for you, had many games where a killer mid chase will just abandon and rush back to the unhook after it's happened. It's ######### but imo nothing to rage over, after all, it's just a video game.

  • To fully restore faith for me they need to continue doing what they did after the 4.5 backlash and be more transparent in providing public roadmaps/updates on what they are planning on fixing with the next patches and hotfixes.

If they continue to communicate and show they're listening to community feedback without the community having to get up in arms each and every update they'll have restored my faith in them.

  • I finally finished this challenge, twice. The first time was after ~15 games, I used For the People twice in the match and it didn't award me the challenge. About 8 games later I picked myself up with Unbreakable and got a For the People pickup and it awarded it to me. I have a feeling the challenge is bugged but it's so difficult to do in the first place there's no reliable way to tell. To me the biggest thing this challenge has shown is that no matter how much people complain about slugging it is actually a non-issue otherwise this challenge would be a cakewalk.

  • @Satelit said:

They probably won't add this but keep in mind you can give yourself a crosshair with some apps

I downloaded one for when the Trickster releases and it helps a lot for Huntress, haven't tried it out on Slinger yet though. I figure if swf can use third party software to gain a competitive advantage so can I for ranged killers.

  • @bm33 said:

From what I've seen he doesn't seem bad. I think "The Trickster" name should've been used on a killer with mind game ability not knife throwing. Hoping he's fun to play on console with a controller.

Got some bad news for ya, I play on PC with a controller and without a cross hair and for some reason them adding a "recoil" effect from throwing multiple knives it's not good with a controller.

  • I love the aesthetic and the little things they added like his mocking and other sounds. My only complaint is that he's too add-on reliant for mid to high rank play.

On the PTB this time around I had more gen rushing and bully squads than I've ever gone up against in PTBs before and not having all perks or the option to use better add-ons available at the time showed me his basekit is too weak for a 110 killer. Hopefully by the time he goes live they'll remedy some of these problems.

    My suggestions are:

    1. Increase movement speed.

    2. If not increase movement speed then make it so it takes 4-5 knives to injure or down instead of 8.

    3. Remove the "recoil" from multiple knife throws.

    4. Increase base duration of Main Event.

    5. Allow players to toggle Main Event instead of the gague going down as soon as it's filled without activation.

  • Considering how difficult many of us are finding the Heroic Cause challenge to be because killers aren't slugging is telling me slugging is a non issue. Yeah, occasionally someone will will toxically slug or slug towards endgame for pressure and it does suck to be on the ground for a while but those games are few and far between.

  • @CountVampyr said:

It shouldn’t matter if you use For The Record (or any other perk for that matter) as long as you have Empathy equipped. I haven’t tried this challenge yet but from all I’ve heard I’m beginning to believe it’s bugged. On paper it looks like it should be an easy challenge to complete.

Even using For the People was stupidly difficult because it requires a killer to slug and not many killers outside of red ranks will actually slug survivors for pressure.

In other threads on here I saw people saying they used For the People to get the challenge done. So either it's bugged, or they picked up without the perk, or they didn't actually complete it and are lying and just saying For the People worked for them.

  • @boostedsurvivormain said:

For the People is it's own event, so it doesn't count for the challenge.

For people saying it worked in other threads are either not bugged or lying.

Don't even need to pick a special killer. Anyone but Spirit/Nurse/Huntress on the game will work on The Game. Did it with Slinger just because I wanted it done.

That's why I said or slap on Brutal. That way you lose a little less time on kicking them so you can get back to the chase faster. But yeah, any killer on The Game can do this challenge first try without trying.

  • There's two reasons I'll lobby dodge:

    1. I'm playing a killer that doesn't have Lightborne or as Wraith/Hag and there's more than 1 flashlught.

    2. I'm readied up but there's a player or two not readied and I don't want to get last second item swapped without having time to prepare.

Reason 2 happens a lot for me. I'll give until the 15 second mark to ready but if that last person doesn't I'm out and will find a new lobby in a few seconds and they can either ready up or play their shenanigans for the next killer.

  • I played as Oni with Pop for that one since I had a daily and it made it pretty easy on me. But I also got Mother's Dwelling so it's not like I was stuck on a deadzone map like the new Auto haven.

The easiest way to do this would probably be play Billy, Demo, Bubba, or Oni or slap on Brutal and burn a The Game offering. Easy 10 pallets.

I am not exactly sure what constitutes a LGBTQIA+ character, other than the lore. If you want a character to have a sentence or two about how a man was married to another man before XYZ happened, then I could care less.

Representation is important but I doubt the majority of players ever look at the lore specifically. The variety of comsetics allow you to turn any character into whatever you want visually; the rest is up to your imagination IMO.

Knowing that representation exists is just as important. I've played plenty of mediocre games where player sexuality served no purpose to gameplay or actual plot just because I knew the option was there to me. It's like a lesbian friend of mine said the other day "Why don't they put more lesbians on tv? We lesbians will watch anything with lesbians in it."

  • I've disagreed with you on some issues but because of ######### like this post I can't help but like you @TheClownIsKing lol

I often play under the name "Hex: Butt Stuff" and the amount of flirting and gay comraderie in the pre game lobby is fantastic XD

i'm sorry what? is this actually a thing?

(not being malicious, just curious, cause i have never heard of this term)

Yup, I can't remember the origin of it but basically it gained prominence in film and music videos by lighting scenes or characters that could be perceived as queer with Purple, Pink, and Blue lighting. Due to the correlation to the colors in the bi pride flag it became known as Bisexual Lighting. It's a relatively new term but evidence of it and it's specific use in queer coding can be seen back in the early 2010s and possibly earlier than that.

  • @Todgeweiht said:

Yeah, wasn't the transgender flag pink-white-blue? Would make sense.

The color scheme on that photo is know as Bisexual lighting. Purple, Blue, and Pink

  • The only survivors I stereotype are Steve, Cheryl, or Meg.

Steve is often toxic and will farm you off hooks.

Cheryl is usually super toxic but not cocky or has zero clue how to play the game, there is no in-between.

Meg will farm you then DC when the killer decides to not tunnel off hook.

    • The Trapper now can hold 2 traps at base (starts with one)
    • Injured survivors who escape a trap by themselves should be downed (Idea by Otzdarva)

I like these ideas , also there should be a bleed out so if they escape from a trap and don't heal under a certain amount of time, they will scream and go down to dying state

Yeah, if trapped while injured at least give them deep wounds if not a weaker version of the Honing Stone

I don' tend to rly on hex perks. imo there overrated.

That and imo Corrupt on Hag isn't a good choice. You need to set up not funnel the survivors to you at the start of the match. My build for her is Third Seal, Monitor, BBQ, and Franklin's. It's a disgusting build but it's quite effective.

My general M1 build lately has been STBFL, Pop, Oppression, and BBQ and I'll swap out Oppression for Brutal/Franklin's/Lightborne/Sloppy depending on the lobby and how I'm feeling that game.

Edit: Totally spaced you said you don't have Twins, so I'd run Brutal or Sloppy for the 4th slot instead.

  • Camping Bubba, leave, sorry to the schmuck on the hook but it's not worth going for the rescue if you can escape and prevent the killer from getting more kills and BPs.

  • Welcome to the intelligent group of hybrid players, where things can be viewed objectively and you'll still be labeled a "whatever main" because someone doesn't like the fact you're speaking rationally lol

But in all seriousness, I wish more players were like you, trying out the other side and actually seeing the frustrations first hand to get a better grasp on balance and open your mind.

I'm expecting an Original chapter, the main reason being the Fifth year anniversary is the chapter cycle after this next one. They normally save the big, licensed chapters for the anniversary events. And I don't know how likely it is to get two licensed chapters in a row.

I prefer the original chapters, honestly. They're more creative most of the time, both in lore and aesthetic.

They've done multiple Licensed in a row before in 2017 they did Bubba, Freddy, and Pig back to back to back. Then in 2019 they did Ash, Ghostface, and Stranger things all in a row. If we're looking at trends then 2021 would actually be mostly licenses. I doubt 19 will be a license but it wouldn't be a crazy thing if it ends up not being original.

  • @Blueberry said:

This would be a net nerf to Trapper. Skill checks in this game are a joke. Your change would be guaranteeing me an escape instantly every single time. Anything in this game that relies on skill checks for its strength will just inherently be bad.

Honestly the whole RNG escape chance is just bad design in the first place. I'd prefer a set like 4 attempts to escape with addons to increase. A set number, no dice roll.

Agreed this would be a nerf. The biggest problem originally was almost every trapped survivor got out 1st or 2nd attempt. At least now I have people in there long enough to cover some distance to finish them with the M1. Ideally it shouldn't matter how many attempts they have because you should be leading them into traps during a chase but the game usually doesn't go that way lol

Since the QoL change I've had zero 1st attempt escapes where before it was almost every distant trap got out on attempt 1.

  • I use it on Hag and regularly have games where people go to 2nd stage before the rescue thanks to it. It's another way for me to apply pressure with her without trapping hooks.

It can be incredibly situational though and some games it doesn't last more than a couple hooks but it almost always buys some time for me.

  • Play cannibal as an M1 killer. Use chainsaw for faster pallet breaks but only go for hammer hits. Using his power basically destroys chaser emblem and doesn't grant points on any others

  • @QwQw said:

That map is literally lumberjack simulator now, not that it wasn't before.

Before you could get away with not kicking a few but now you have to kick basically all of them because the "not safe" pallets still have low long walks in both ends and are completely unmindgameable. The map looks great though

  • Imi all they have to do to "fix" the animations is to give them the old idle animation or give the survivors their idle stance from the lobby. Having all of them stand like David ready to ######### a dudes face up when they aren't moving is what kills it for me lol

  • @Artick said:

In fairness, all the other reworked maps had very few, very spaced, and extremely unsafe pallets(2 centimeres to either side). I didn't hear any killer main saying this isn't fair. But when one map doesn't end up being killer sided ... the sky starts falling again.

Deadzones are BS and I heard plenty of survivor complains but no killers arguing back based on the existence maps like Haddonfield that survivors need to just deal with it. My problem isn't having safe pallets it's the overabundance. Hawkins arguably has too many pallets but most are unsafe or actually mindgameable so you don't hear many complaints about it. The Game previously had a lot of safe pallets that the killer had to break to do anything but killers didn't complain and there weren't 25+ of them spawning meters apart creating literal infinites if not dropped or broken.

The only two good things I'll say about this map are.. It's looks really nice, and there's no fat shaming bug.

Agreed, I love the look of the rework but ######### these pallet spawns.

  • Made a post about this last night. Really, this map should be disabled until it's fixed too. It's like they just have a function turned on that spawns all available pallets, my favorite is god pallet into short unmindgameable long walks on both sides pallet into freezer room window into another god pallet.

  • I greatly dislike the new UI because it's all scattered around the screen and not as easy to just glance at. The proposed change looks a lot better to me but still feels wonky, I thinks it's the vertical layout of the survivor icons, but a lot better than having to dart my eyes or head all around the screen to get the info I need.

  • @thedisappointment said:

Ah thankyou for sending me this, this is such an improvement. Looks so much nicer

Definitely an improvement but still seems wonky to me. At least it's all consolidated though.

  • Honest advice? Depip

In purple and green ranks you can still merciless without all emblems being Iridescent. Once you're in red ranks you're pretty much screwed.

If you don't want to AFK or DC, wait until rank reset and then play badly for a few games then go back to try when you're down at rank 6 or 7.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

The way it works though it doesn't help me with any of those things, it just kinda throws me off entirely.

Do you already know how to play Nurse and have some muscle memory built on how to best use her charges? If so, it's not an add-on designed for you. It's literally made for the baby Nurses that are playing her for the first few times.

It's like the Blight's add-on that shows his impact location. It's made for people that are having a hard time figuring out how to use his power.

  • Yeah, it's like the Blight I was up against the other night: Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer/Corrupt. I cleansed all 5 totems then we only had to work around Tinkerer for the remaining 3 gens lol

Yeah those seem like killer mains LARPing. I can’t imagine anyone cares that DS is getting this slight nerf.

Nah, it's the same like 5 survivors that come on here and go nuts against killers, fellow survivors, and hybrid players that disagree with their "points". Most of them, when replying on other threads, will try to shift the conversation to nerfing killers/claiming survivors receive a constant barrage of nerfs/try to start fights and arguments unrelated to the topic.

  • I used it for the first week of learning Nurse so I could build the muscle memory of how long to hold my charges. It's like when I learned Huntress for a few days I put a tiny piece of tape in the center of my monitor so I could build the memory of where to actually aim.

Plaid Flannel was super helpful for me but I quickly swapped it for a more useful add-on.
