No. You can't earn those achievements through private matches. Only through public matches.

So then the real question is, why only the distinction on one's description but not the other two? Especially considering Power Moves and Rescue Mission both hit with chapter 18.

The thing is, there's one major difference between SWF on comms and Blight's flick:

One's been expressly approved and supported by the devs (SWF on comms), whilst one has been expressly confirmed as unintended and unsupported.

    https://www.twitch.tv/mclean_bhvr/clip/AmorphousFaithfulKleeTheTarFu-jPzbiLNS-Dku-899

It's similar to the Pyramid Head exploit; unsupported, unintended, and expressly condemned:

    https://www.twitch.tv/mclean_bhvr/clip/SpookyPeppyTarsierThunBeast-7rDoj_6XXge-6uJe

    (basically saying don't use exploits)

I feel there was something lost in translation, I wasn't defending the person that said swf was also an exploit, just saying why they might think that while simultaneously agreeing with the OP.

There’s an official discord that was made by the dbd devs to go with swf. That may not be in the base game but it is still made by the dbd devs. comms is aloud.

Fair enough, but discord as a whole is still a third party app. Personally I think any swf talk or argument is just splitting hairs. If you're using comms with your buddies it's not inherently an advantage, I personally die more in swf and on comms than I ever have solo. But if you're adjusting settings or using gear that overrides a base code then yes it's an "exploit" or, in my opinion, just straight up cheating.

the he’ll do you mean? swf literally is base gameplay...

But using Discord for coms is not. I diagree with their line of thinking since it's false equivalence but I can see that's what they're getting at.

  • She's a so so killer that either keeps people injured or feeds you a ranged attack but she feels clunky and awkward to me. I do enjoy playing her from time to time but she's kinda like playing as legion, It can be fun but for the most part you're just dragging out games forever or getting gen rushed to oblivion with a couple "normal" matches here and there.

  • Two possible changes for it that I'd be okay with are this range idea, many Huntress' have difficulty hitting farther ranged shots and it promotes needing skill to get benefit from it, or hard capping it at 1 hatchet and giving it the Hag scarred hand treatment of "this add-on trumps all other add-ons" so it can't be stacked with infantry belt.

  • There's a few fat shame spots on the Macmillan maps unfortunately.

  • I will dodge depending on what killer I'm playing as but for the most part I just try to play around the key by either eliminating the key user before 3 gens are done or use Franklin's. Thankfully most key users also bring a hatch offering so I know where to go if the hatch spawns to shut it down before multiples can escape.

  • Oni is tough on Lery's but Blight and Billy are a nightmare to use their powers in there, imo.

  • The way I play Hag is very aggressive. I'll set up a small web in high traffic areas depending on the map then use the rest in chases for shutting down difficult loops or mind games.

The best thing for her is to learn your maps and survivor pathing. You can just prox hooks with traps but she's more fun to take an aggressive approach with, imo.

For a build on her lately I've been using, BBQ for the BP, Franklin's for those filthy beamers and med kits, Third Seal cause it's fun, and most recently Undying to protect Third Seal but Monitor is fantastic on her.

A really sweaty try hard build that is the definition of No Fun Allowed is STBFL, Make Your Choice, Monitor and whatever else you like.

I play on controller so I can easily spam left bumper in chases to get insta teleports but if you are on M+Kb you can bind teleport to the scroll wheel to super fast teleport but I personally think players that use things like that need their hands held because their reflexes must be trash.

  • My go to survivor build is Lithe, BT, Stake Out, and Inner Strength and occasionally bring a medkit or toolbox with charge and speed add-ons.

Despite some maps I've found Lithe to be the most reliable exhaustion perk for me.

BT for those saves that need a little help since solo queue makes it harder to get off safe rescues.

Stake Out gives a nice little BP bonus but also helps clip through gens or heals in a pinch.

Inner Strength promotes doing bones and gives quick heals against Sloppy and the like, and if you've cleansed before a chase makes heals much faster than SC or Brown and Yellow med kits.

For a med kit I'll bring one as a back up in case I can't get any totems for IS or for late game heals before unhooks or protection hits.

Tool boxes are usually just for sabo dailies but occasionally I'll get the wild idea to bring one to power through the first gen a little quicker.

The biggest problem with my build is when I get killers like Wraith, Meyers or Slinger on maps like The Game or Hawkins where I can't make decent use of the killers TR, there aren't many vaults, and totem spawns are more hidden.

  • I only farm if I have a challenge/achievement I'm having a hard time beating or if two DC early game. Farming as survivor is fun occasionally but when I'm playing survivor I'd rather get out asap.

  • Between Shards, Dailies, what I have saved, and challenges I have about 1.6-7 to get his perks and the new survivor perks. Really it's worth it if you want to begin using him or his perks right away on release, otherwise you could be like me with the Twins and dump everything into the survivor and then play a few killer matches with BPS, Puddings, or cakes along with BBQ to grind out the killer perks later.

  • Because of how often the game changes necroing a thread brings up more clutter and confusion from current topics. Especially if it was a couple years old.

  • All I seem to go up against ate Huntress, Meyers, Doctor, and Wraith. Maybe it's just the killers that are preffered in certain regions?

  • I got it when a killer did intentionally drop a survivor. Have you tried getting a pallet save? and this may seem like a dumb question but are withing Breakout activation range while it's equipped?

  • I would buy a Hag funko in a heartbeat and I don't even collect them lol

  • Is it a constant thing or one time cause I've gotten stuck in knife up animation for Ghostface lots of times, T3 meyers animation staying up after reverting back to T2, Blink hand on Nurse staying up post blink, Oni collecting orbs animation staying up when power wasn't full, and numerous other animation bugs that only seem to effect killer POV. If it's a constant thing I've never noticed but I also never play Billy unless I have to for a Daily or during his Tome.

  • I play about 50/50anf find myself playing more killer lately. It just takes a couple crappy solo queue matches as survivor for me to go back to killer so I have to rely on my own skill and not the awful people I'm matched up with.

  • Each killer has their own SBM score for you. So there's probably more players on with your Slinger skill level than your Billy skill level.

The real question is how accurate are these skill level scores overall.

  • Mine was against a mediocre Wraith and I was lift to die on first hook (2nd hook of the match for the Wraith) by baby Survivors at 2 gens left. 2nd match was better but the Ghostface basement camped me during EGC and my team refused to leave while I was still on the hook so I didn't get any progress towards that stupid "have 6 survivors escape while you remain in the trial" challenge.

wish I knew that before I fully commited to a WGLF, mettle of man, breakout build.

    either way, got it. XD

I was full on Power Struggle, Flip Flop, Breakout build against a Hag. I was following her for the teammate to wiggle off and she just put them down and started chasing me and at the end of the trial it gave me the challenge with no pallet stun, flashlight save, or wiggle off.

  • Demogorgon for me. I started playing shortly before he was released and was so hyped when I saw the reveal and then I got on the PTB and my rank 15 killer mind was thinking "This is gonna be awesome!" And then he released and I was a better killer facing much better survivors. He seems strong and has a fairly well rounded basekit but between stuns, cool downs, and slow downs from using his power he's weakened to a point that really let's down the character.

  • I would say Candyman for Chapter 20 but the release date for the new movie has been pushed back to late August so that seems unlikely for chapter 20. Most likely it will be RE something completely unexpected like Silent Hill was for 2020.

What I really want is The Xenomorph and Ripley, Nemesis and Jill/Mr X and Leon, or Pinhead and Kristy.

With questions about comics, anime, and other forms of horror media from a past player survey they could surprise us with something nobody saw coming.

  • OPs 4 minute ban comment went over a lot of y'all's heads. The bleedout timer is 4 minutes, a DC ban is 5. They are saying the bleedout time is the unskippable "ban." I swear reading comprehension and context clues these days are ######### atrocious.

  • Personally I there they should make new maples in existing realms to cut down in map offering clutter in blood webs.

  • Load in and find a pallet right away, drop it, reset it, then camp it for the killer. Take a hit if you have to and play the entire rest of the game like normal. This one was easier for me than the "reset a pallet within 10m of the killer"

Alsi, the Jailbreak challenge doesn't require them to wiggle off, if you get a pallet save, flashligh save, or the killer just sets them down while you're close and have breakout it'll award you the challenge.

Big oof on that. Those are my least favorite as survivor or killer.

I really wish when they reworked Badham the would have gotten rid of some of the variants.

  • @jester20k said:

I think a lot are playing maps because for whatever reason the only maps you get randomly are auto haven auto haven MacMillan. It gets old fast

I've been getting all Cold Wind and Badham this weekend unless an offering is burned.

  • They suck because they're always on survivors I leveled to 40, adepted, then never touched again. If they were always for the 5 survivors I have all perks unlocked on then I wouldn't care but they always seem to be on people I don't want to play as. Like killers I get a lot of the same killer challenges back to back, the last week I've had Ambush Attack Pig 4 times.

  • Hag really doesn't need perks, as a hag main I run with Third Seal and Franklin's for the lulz, BBQ for the BP, and the only really useful perk I use on her is Monitor.

Tracking isn't really necessary for her so I don't really get value from BBQ, if nobody brings items I "wasted a slot" on Franklin's, and if they find my totem right away I "wasted a slot" on 3rd Seal.

For add-ons I run setting speed and distance add-ons. Playing on PC with a controller makes it easier for me to spam my teleport button when I know they're about to trigger a trap and has better reaction time for when a trap goes off when I'm not paying as much attention.

  • Even in that scenario there is nothing wrong with end game camping. Gens are done and I've got someone on hook I'm gonna defend that hook since there's literally nothing else for me to do. When I play Survivor if I'm caught in the end I will hold on as long as possible and plan my exit for the potential save but I understand that a killer will try to ensure I die in that case and I don't get salty about it.

More Survivor Challenges-->There need to be more Survivors by default to have decent Queue times. Those are not a thing currently, however, if There would be the same amount of Challenges (and both queue times would have been roughly the same to begin with), Killer Queues would be really long.

More grindy Challenges-->This community is whiny. Instead of interesting challenges which might require a few games to get done, the Devs went for quite a bunch of easy Challenges which are basically "just play the game". I prefer real Challenges, difficult things done in one game which need multiple trials. But since many people (or a few loud ones..) thought it was too hard, we have more of the grindy ones. Yay.

I would argue that at this point in the games health they need more killers. At the moment my survivor queues are 5-15 minutes depending on time of day. 5 minutes minimum during daytime hours and averaging 15 minutes during peak hours. Killer queues are between 10seconds to 2 minutes, 10 seconds during peak hours and averaging 2-3 minutes during daytime hours.

I don't mind the grindy challenges because even if I have a meh game I am still making progress.

Sacrifice 15 survivors, hook 24 survivors, and destroy 24 pallets? How is that a reduction?

Number of challenges not number of objective per challenge. There are 7 killer challenges, 11 survivor challenges, and 2 either/or. That's almost double the number of challenges for survivors to complete this level over killer. In others those number have been much closer.

Also on a 12 hook game that's only 2 possibly three matches for "hook 24" survivors. Destroy 24 pallets or kick gens I did that in one game on ormond with Ghostface and brutal strength and still got the 4k. Sacrifice 15 survivors takes 3 4ks and a 3k so only 4 matches. The killer challenges are much less grindy than the survivor ones and there's less of them.

If/When they do that, Rank won't be a factor in Match Making anymore. Instead it'll be based off of people's hidden MMR. So yeah... that Rank 1 killer just went to rank 20, but they'll still be facing decent/good survivors and not new players.

Thanks for the follow up/clarification on my comment, I sometimes forget not everyone pays attention to every little thing the devs mention lol

So I have no faith that it's tomorrow, thank you ^^

Yeah, seems unlikely they'd implement the rewards and not mention it at least a couple days before but there is always a small possibility they'll announce it today. My money is on April 13 or in May for the midchapter.

  • I don't understand why they added more grindy survivor challenges and reduced the number of killer challenges...

Rank reset hasn't been like that for ages now. You only go back one rank colour so for example: red-purple, purple-green, green-yellow and yellow-grey :)

If they're making mmr live and giving rank reset rewards like they posted a little while back then yes it'd go back to 20 not just one color. As of now though they haven't announced when mmr and reset rewards are being implemented.

Wraith feels slow too. And there’s no reason for him to feel so slow. He’s a thin skinny man with no armor or anything yet he feels sluggish.

Plague for me feels slow too for being a tall slender woman wearing thin silk robes.

  • The killers I feel move faster are Ghostface, which I think it's the sound of his cloak is like the wind rushing past so he just feels faster, and oddly enough Hag which I think is because of her hight she feels faster despite being slower. All in all I think a lot of it has to do with sound design and character model. Demo feels slow as hell due to his loud pounding plodding foot steps, same with Oni and Charlotte, his armor thumping along with his stomping foot steps or her pots and pans clanking with her heavy foot steps just makes them feel slower despite being 115%.

The main problem with the Twins (imo) is most people play them like dicks. They can camp hooks like no tomorrow and that is just the default play style a lot of people use for them. Even more so when they don't give them a chance. I stand by the Twins being a good pressure killer just DON'T HOOK CAMP. Actually go out and use the fact you are two people in one to your advantage. Plus Victor flies far for a little dude. Long range snipe people.

That's the same problem with Hag, most people play her super scummy when she can be both an offensive and defensive killer, not just defensive.

Ah, I see. When I play nurse, I'm either in fatigue, charging up a blink, or blinking. I don't hold W, ever. So I never really hear it 😆

I've found with Nurse a lot of times at jungle gyms especially survivors will mind game themselves and run right into me after I've broken chase. I also like to walk a lot in the beginning of the match so I can get a surprise hit in or potentially a grab before they know I'm a Nurse.

Yeah, but it isn't like it hinders her, so I don't really mind it.

It's out of place and distracting to me, but that probably because it's so loud when you're not in a chase

It is unnecessary. However, that is what the noise is, and it's been in the game since nurse came out.

Good to know. Still a stupid ######### design choice for a killer who wanders around two feet in the air with a dress that sits abiver her bare feet.

Well how often are they reported? If they were reported all the time they should have fixed it by now

They're constantly reported. And when they do get fixed the next patch breaks sounds again and they're reported again. And again. And again

Nurse main here. She doesn't have footsteps. It's actually her dress dragging on the ground.

Odd that would be a thing considering all but three of her cosmetics sit above her feet... Not saying you're wrong but it's a peculiar and unnecessary design choice.

  • @dspaceman20 said:

Can we not nerf iron will please. Ita one of the only counters against stridor spirit and nerfing that would make her too powerful.

I'm not advocating for nerfing it, I'm advocating for fixing sound issues and/or toning back the loud ass ambient sounds that drown out and cover up tracking an injured survivor.
