  • If they're clearly a baby, or just had god awful teammates, I will give hatch or the door.

  • If I see 4 toolboxes, fragrant tuft of hair Meyers.

  • Lot of things annoy me. Flashlight saves are right at the top of that list.

  • So that's why survivors have been using commodious toolboxes and burning map offerings for the most survivor sided maps. Wondering why people were going full try hard.

Over 50% of the playerbase play solo. There are two EU servers for over 27 countries. London and Frankfurt. I'm sure you can do the math.

I am from the UK and was not matched with people from there only its not how it works due to games userbase population. In most matches the end game chat would not be soley in English but have multiple languages where some could speak it if they so wish my there was a huge amount that couldn't.

It has nothing to do with swf bully squad as I play solo only. As I said its about common sense but you can keep making things up to keep trying to fit your narrative.

From my experience prominently English speaking countries are the ones whom always seem to expect others to speak their language and that is showing in your posts as you really don't seem to care about the players that can't.

Again, not really my problem. I get paired with spanish speakers a few times a night and it wouldn't bother me to be on comms and not be able to understand them.

It's not about sjw but common sense.

It already happened in another game where players complained they were matched with those who didn't speak English as the userbase wasn't large enough.

To say the majority speak English is wrong. The peaks generally happen between 6-9pm EU time. There is no point making things up to fit your narrative.

You simply cannot then balance it for comms if you are going to tell people who bought it to suck it up. Again that is an extremely ignorant point of view as you are putting your enjoyment over other customers.

I didn't say that the majority speak english, I said the majority speak english OR will be matched in their own country. This is a non issue that you're trying to make into an issue for some reason. If it's not SJW, then it must be fear that SWF won't be a glorified bully tool if everyone has comms.

Its a minor issue with games with huge playerbases as they can separate servers so it doesn't happen.

It's a very ignorant expectation to expect someone to know a language just because others do.

Then you have Asia where the game is popular also. Do you think they all should speak English? What language should they default too?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1116776#Comment_1116776

    It depends on the game.

Overwatch, League etc have huge playerbase and can have servers for more specific regions.

Just because you can speak English and are on those servers doesn't mean you can disregard all the other countries. As I said above what about Asia? What language should they be defaulted too? It's not just about some but all you have to cater for.

Honestly, you're getting this whole SJW vibe going. The majority of the players in this game are going to speak English, or be matched with people in their own country. If they do get matched with someone that speaks a different language, they're just going to have to suck it up and play without comms. It's not the end of the world.

I disagree. Mainly because most of the supposed God perks you mentioned and that I can think of require an action to be done for it to activate or leads to exhaustion. Killers don't have to deal with that. And keys? We killers can see people bring them in before survivors even know who they are dealing with, and can easily target said people with them. Can even run Franklin's to get rid of it pretty easily, especially at top tier due to their fragility. On top of that survivors have to actually fix an X amount of gens to even use keys meanwhile our equivalent requires us just to hook them once. Unlike us survivors overwhelmingly can't just do something just cause. Killers have far more favor. That's my honest opinion. Balance needs to happen, but it's to find a way to make the survivor experience more enjoyable by making them a bit stronger and by making the chase more exhilarating. No easy task, true but any killer worth a salt knows better than to say that survivors are overpowered because that is simply untrue.

Obsession perks require you to basically leave the obsession alone. Hex perks require you to guard them and can still be destroyed. Those are not brain dead perks, they require action on your part and don't carry near the power of exhaustion perks. Imagine if a killer could double his lunge distance every 60 seconds and you don't know about it until it happens. With plunderers instinct, you have a about a 75% chance of finding a key, not like a killer can find a mori.

Name me one killer perk combination with as much power as DS, DH, Adrenaline, and Unbreakable.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1116457#Comment_1116457

That's not the right answer. You can't balance around a system when you expect players to know a language.

Shouldn't the reverse also work. If you are matched with 3 German and one English shouldn't they speak German then,

What about in North America and youvarr matched with 3 South Americans should they then speak Spanish or Portuguese?

It's such a minor issue, I don't know why you're making a big deal about it. Voice chat has been around for decades and this has never been an issue. I remember playing UT2k4 with Russians, we got along fine.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1116410#Comment_1116410

How does that solve the issue when in places with multiple languages? This was part of my initial post you quoted.

You do know in Europe alone there are 27 countries each with their own language who can be matched into a lobby.

Most people have decent understanding of English.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1116277#Comment_1116277

How do you mean text chat? I don't think its quite a simple as that.

The thing that makes swf strong is bit simply the knowing but the abilitu to coordinate on the fly along with picking who they play with.

The killer is one me at x location, I used the pallets around the shack or another area, gens almost done, I have BT, I have a adrenaline, I have we'll make it, I have DS do a gen etc etc even a chat wheel while nice wouldn't come close to the same info.

Then you have char spammer save me over and over. Seems fun.

Then you have muting which while good doesn't solve any issues as you then have no info.

Text chat man. Back in the day, it's all we had. You learned to type fast. T, billy near shack, enter. T hes on me, enter.

  • No. It takes a rare game to get me over 1K hours. I start to get burned out around 300-500 hours..

  • @twistedmonkey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1116133#Comment_1116133

Because that doesn't work. Only those who live in a country with one spoken language in the lobbies seem to think so.

Europe or Asia are completely different and you can be in a lobby with 4 other languages so balancing that cannot work.

What would you do to sort that scenario out?

Then there are the trolls, the ones who scream "save me" and are just overall toxic people. End game cha5 is bad enough.

The ability to mute specific survivors and a text chat as well. Easy.

  • So basically his killer meta is Pop, Corrupt, Save the best for last, and infectious fright. You can cycle in one of the following... Nurses calling, play with your food, monitor, BBQ, discordance, thrilling, I'm all ears, NOED, and whispers.

I can pretty much agree with that. I would use BBQ instead of infectious, just for the bloodpoints.

  • @DelsKibara said:

They're currently balancing in the killer's favour in the next patch.

They are adding breakable walls to the SHACK. The God Pallet Loop, that is basically removing a very strong loop from the start of the game if that is possible.

Devs care about either side because they need both sides to keep the game running. And they also sell cosmetics for both sides, do you honestly think killers would purchase any cosmetic if they feel like they are getting the short end of the stick?

I'm sorry, what?!? We're getting a weaker version of huntress, one map with breakable walls, a minor trapper QOL change, and a minor buff to doc. Meanwhile survivors don't lose their items, get instant sabo, and toolboxes are in essence brand new parts. Sure the later maps will get breakable walls, but probably one per mid chapter update.

    @Inji said:

I can assure you that the devs do indeed care about killers. They make changes based on the game as a whole, meaning that they make changes on both sides.

Maybe not all in the same patches, but they do make forward momentum.

Personally would love to see breakable walls be implemented to other maps a well. Changes dont come over night unfortunately. So map changes will take time.

All evidence to the contrary. Nurse, Ruin, Oni, and Legion all nerfed to ground, Oni got a minor buff. Freddy and Spirit nerfed. Hag teleport flicker, sound bugs, nurse blink bug, grab bugs, matchmaking bug, and flashlight bug, all broken for months. DS bug? Fixed in a week. Basement glitch? Same.

What exactly have the devs done for killer here lately? Doctor buff? While nice, they did that so he would be "less annoying to play against". For the last 5 months, they've done nothing but major nerfs.

  • @xEa said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/132446/this-forum-is-so-biased-towards-killers

The reason for that is simple. Most killer mains think ballanced gameplay is a 4K most of the time. In fact they probably get their 4Ks more often then not, but then once in a while they run into a swf team with better players on a bad map for killers aswell and they loose. After loosing the game, they come here and complain about how hard it is to be a killer, not thinking about that the last games were 3K and 4Ks all along.

And then there are those who are just bad. They want it more easy instead of getting better.

Killers are so entitled in this game, is completly ridicilous. Watch someone like Hexy or TrueTalent. All they do is complain how unfair it is, and how strong survivors are, while they get win after win after win. I could accept that, if they were any good, but they are not.

You're wrong. My idea of balance is not a 4K, it's where any killer has a shot at a 2-3K, and any survivor team has a shot at 2-3 escape on any map, against any killer. How it is now, if a killer comes up against a strong SWF on a bad killer map, the killer has already lost, he never stood a chance. I know you will say that it's rare, but it's more common than you think, and the fact that it's possible at all for the killer to lose before he even started shows the gross incompetence of the balance team.

While I do disagree, I appreciate your input, thank you!

I have a major problem with anything that grants survivors too much time. DS and DH are the two worst in that aspect.

  • Deadhard and DS. Deadhard is too versatile with invincibility and space. DS is basically 8 minutes of godmode if all 4 survivors have it, plus it's a free escape if used when the gates are open.

A single hook in 1/4 the map, when a Survivor dies at the Blue X hook, there is no way I can carry the others to the other hook if I down a Survivor around that area. The 3 G are the last Gens, because they rushed all the left side Gens.

Dropped 3 times in the match (which is missed 3 hook). Lucky that I still able to 4K with 1 Gen left.

Yeah, I've noticed this more and more. There was one hook near the main building with the crows on Backwater Swamp. Starting to get the feeling they shadow nerfed the hooks in anticipation of the upcoming sabo changes. Got to give the survivors more bullying options.

Because I've seen survivor mains cry about things AND I've seen killer mains cry about things. It definitely goes both ways.

Either way, the devs do listen believe it or not. Like I said before, I've been playing a long time and I've seen the change. Just be patient instead of getting all bent out of shape.

I don't believe it. They gut nurse, gut ruin, nerf freddy, nerf spirit, gut oni, gut legion. Matchmaking is "broken" for months, sounds are broken, hag is broken, nurse is broken, grabs are broken, flashlights are broken, and not a fix in sight. DS is bugged, that crap was fixed in a week, same for the basement bug.

They only care about survivors and cosmetics.

  • @ChicoRockz said:

These are the kind of posts I hate, from both sides! This community is absolutely the worst. People cry and cry no matter what the devs do. I play both sides equally and don't care whether I "win" or "lose". The only thing I care about is if I had fun. If you're not having fun you're either A. Taking the game WAY too seriously or B. Just not as good as you think you are. Stop thinking you always NEED a 4k. The only time I'm truly upset as a killer is when I don't get 20k+ BP. If you're still playing killer for kills and not BP I don't know what to tell you chief.

At the end of the day crying like this on the forums is ridiculous. If you've been playing as long as you claim, then you would also recognize the good changes the devs have done. I've been playing since there were only 4 killers and I can assure you the game maybe a little wonky now, but the devs always come through. Do you not remember vacuum pallets? Did you forget about sprint burst twice in a chase? Or even worse insta-flashlight?

Give credit where credit is due and stop acting like the devs don't hear us. It may take time but they are also an indie studio. We always seem to forget that. Now if this was EA or Activision handling this game I would be just as sour. But ######### guys... Let's all take a Xanax and chill a bit. It's not that serious or that bad.

I don't know how you can say people cry no matter what the devs do, because the devs never buff killer. Or if they do, they take away or add a game changing perk, and give something insignificant back. Lets add a completely broken version of sabo that will be abused, and let trapper reset his traps on the ground to compensate, AND add breakable walls for one map.

After queueing into ormond, lampkin, lampkin, bedham, mother's dwelling I'm just infuriated

"Oh entering mother's dwelling this game"

"As usual the gens are 17 miles apart from each other"

"I see a survivor but he has 93 windows to utilize and can press spacebar to down pallets"

It's like this kind of map, I have to decide which gen i'll give up right off the bat cuz going over there to check on em just isn't worth it

Just had a match as leatherface on mothers dwelling. Someone spawned on top of haunted grounds while I was on top of a survivor. Even being right there, I couldn't get a hit. Any map that's huge and has a majority of safe pallets needs to be deleted from the game.

  • @Brucecastro81 said:

I don't understand why people want Dead Hard nerfed instead of Sprint burst, dh for distance is very situational and it genuinely takes some skill, while sprint burst is zzzzz and has the most brainded skillcap

I've never used DH, because I decided to level my killers first. The tome had me use it to make a killer miss. Within two games, I was using it to potential on loops.

  • He's one of my favorite killers, but I don't play him like most people do. Most people will either use Usain Bubba with play with your food, or insidious camping bubba that absolutely no one likes.

First things first, his chainsaw is useless unless you have a clear shot, so I use carburetor tuning guide and primer bulb to make him instasaw, and if it's not clear, don't be afraid to M1 them. Now here's what makes my build different and completely "wrong", I use haunted grounds, NOED, pop, and BBQ. Absolutely no one expects instadown perks on leatherface, and I've yet to see a survivor that can resist that flaming totem. Surprises a lot of people and I can end the game with a well timed haunted grounds.

  • Boy you can spot the survivor mains that are praying the devs continue to be survivor sided. It wouldn't be a meta perk if it wasn't insanely strong. Deadhard is far more powerful than sprint burst, which is why you see it more often at top ranks. Sprint burst requires skill and has downsides. You need to walk everywhere, or get your exhaustion to 99%, then run everywhere for it to be useful.

Dead hard on the other hand is available at all times and has too much versatility. Got out mind gamed? E button. Made a mistake at a loop? E button. Need to make an extra loop around a pallet? E button. Need to dodge a nurse blink, oni smash, or huntress hatchet? E button. When used properly, there is nothing that the killer can do about it. Don't swing and they make the pallet, but do swing and they use dead hard, there is no baiting that.

We need to see more gore, horror, blood, we need to see more scary original stuff, wherewolves, vampires, pinhead heck even Jaon we need to see terror we need to see this game be more horror come on devs!

You either need a huge terror radius, or a super small terror radius, and no red stain at all. The scariest builds in this game are Scratched Mirror Meyers, Coxcombed Clapper Wraith, or giant terror radius doc on The Game. It's just not that scary when you know the killer is coming from 32m away and you can see 360*.

  • Oh I know. I had this happen when I was playing Meyers. The grab worked, but the survivor got away, but the server didn't agree, so I had the mechanic of carrying the survivor, even though I didn't actually have the survivor. Couldn't drop the ghost survivor, couldn't hook the ghost survivor. All I could do was let them escape.

  • Ghostface. He's so easy to play as and rarely has me cussing.

  • @Rexis said:

this game should be about balance, and its far away from balance

Lets look at the red addons that a killer has comparing to a red addon a survivor have

so a red addon for huntress will down survivors with one hatchet, a red addon for freddie will send everyone in a dream world from the start without being able to wakeup from missing skill check entire game and obsession stay dreaming the entire game, a mirror myres will give ability to see behind walls while he has no terror radius and his red addon will give him the ability to stay tier 3 for entire game or to kill survivors with hand, red addon for clown will down a survivor with one hit, a red addon for legion will give annoying loud noise every time he is in frenzy and you never know if he is coming your way or still in chase with someone and we cant forget about Ebony Mori that all killers easily find almost every bloodweb

lets look at red addons for survivors, spare part with 2 skill checks that if you hit doesnt even give you 20% of gen fix, Syringe that is for 1 time use that send you into mending status! thats it! a map that view's the killer belongings as if its so hard to find it! which in my opinion useless or at best is a green addon comparing to killers and a key that maybe you will be lucky and able to use

so how about we make huntress red addon hatchet for 1 hatchet only! or 1 bottle only for clown? or mirror myres gives him terror radius! wouldnt that be fair? since we use it only once also? yeah sound unfair isnt it? well thats what survivors suffers using red addon, a useless addon

Uh huh. Lets look at survivor perks vs killer perks.

Killer can slow gens 4% for every injured survivor - Survivor can speed gens by 10% for every survivor nearby.

Killer can know when someone is in a 32M circle - Survivor can know when the killer is looking at him, or downright see his aura.

Killer can block the exit doors for 60 seconds - Survivors can find keys in a box that allows 3 people to escape without warning.

Survivor can gain distance and be invulnerable for a swing. Survivor can have 60 seconds of god mode after being hooked. Survivors can take a hit without being injured upon unhook. Survivor can get a sprint burst exhaustion perk that ignores the rules of exhaustion. Survivors can pick themselves up of the ground. Survivors can heal themselves without needing a teammate. Survivors can see the auras of the most powerful killer perks.

So yeah, killers have far better addons than survivors, but survivors have far stronger perks.

You didn't get the point man, I'm trying to help the killer, if you decided to face camp me on first hook after all gens were done cause you were stubborn enough to not drop the chase on the "good looper", we're getting out, all 4 of us

And yes, against Bubba I'll just let myself die, I don't see face camping as toxic, I just gave my team an easy 3 survs escaped game at the cost of me dying, now, that's a W in my book

Nah man, you're abusing matchmaking and how broken the maps/gen times/hook grabs are, to bully killers less skilled than you, and you're hiding behind the "I'm doing it for them" excuse. I bet you left lane camp in traffic, to "keep people safe".

I don't care how good you are, or what killer you're using, if you get 4 skilled loopers, you will not leave with more than a 1K, so it's up to the individual killer to decide if he wants to shoot for brutal, or facecamp for the entity displeased. I got a horrible tile spawn on Shelter Woods, with a bunch of safe loops chained to the god window and the killershack. I pushed gens, I kept everyone injured, I dropped chase, I broke the right pallets, I mindgamed, but in the end, we were over 7 minutes into the game, they had 3 gens done, and I had downed a total of two people, losing one to a flashlight that shouldn't have blinded me.

So basically I followed the jUsT aPPly preSSure, and GiT gUD baBY kILler playbook, and still didn't stand a chance.

Just look what you can do if you know how to quick shot... AMAZING KILLER, THANKS DEVS! Go to 01:40 and keep watching

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ar2PpBt8zRc

You've got two long range, 110%ms killers. One can shoot 5 times without reloading, can down someone at long range, has no limit on that range, can down people over pallets/through windows, and has a super strong addon. The other can shoot once without reloading, can't down someone at long range, has a limit on the range, can't down people over pallets, has to waste time reeling them in, and has a mediocre addon.

Both can be easily looped, both can be easily dodged, and both have no map pressure. Deathslinger is 100% a bad huntress. About the only thing has has in favor of huntress is a smaller terror radius.

  • @Hamoodbuffon said:

I just dont understand the idea behind bringing a breakable wall in killer shack. It is completely unnecessary given it's a wonderful design and the loop is decent within it and not at all OP. Just for the record, once the pallet is down you eliminate strong loops so why would you insert a breakable wall then as u have just killed the fun inside of the shack. Please reconsider this and I hope sincerely other maps having killer shack not to resemble this new Mao's one. Otherwise, I am afraid that I will be leaving this game cuz Dead by Daylight has lost its iconic design and killed the fun in the game. Please let me have your thoughts on this. Not to mention that the new map having no legit loops. It makes me want to have the killer killing me right from the start because I wont enjoy those nonsense design loops.

If the gen times remain at lightning fast levels, many of the safe loops need to be nerfed, especially the shack. It's not fair for a survivor to be able to run a killer for 2-3 minutes when the gens can be done in 4. No loop in the game should be safe, every single one should have mindgame potential. And for the people saying the shack can be mindgamed...BS, the survivors can see through the walls, anyone with a brain can run that loop.

  • @DBD_Pinhead said:

The devs are doing everything in their power to not address the issue. What the hell good are DC penalties, lackluster killer buffs, insignificant wall breaks, and surv buffs when you still have broken matchmaking that allows cheat with friends to habitually game the system? You really should put a disclaimer on your product that you cater to only one side of your game and be honest with yourselves.

You can't fix matchmaking, because it isn't broken. There are too few killers playing this game. The upcoming MMR ranking won't do crap except hide the ranks.

Arent those rank 4-8 survivors are the same rank 1-2 survivors you’ve been facing that got bumped back in rank reset? They didn’t keep their rank anymore than you did.

Nah, they're already back in red ranks. Day 1 of the reset, absolutely, so I quit playing for a few days.

  • @FogLurker said:

Unless survivors wanna wait half an hour in hopes of getting matched with 1 killer that is around their skill range, that is online, or happens to log in; all rank and mmr is better off hidden or not existing so everyone can play with whoever they get matched with just as the game currently is. If one side is overly better than the other, just keep playing and you'll get better over time or play something else.

I'll take how to kill an online game for $500 Alex. Matchmaking is incredibly important for a game like this. Top survivors don't want to play with potato survivors, and mid killers sure don't want to play with top survivors. The ideal fix would be to buff the crap out of the killers, so they actually have a chance. More killers = less wait.

When I came back to this game last September, it took 5-10 minutes to get a match as killer. 4 or so massive nerfs later, killer queue is instant. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the problem.

  • @Gam1ngga5tly said:

I really hope this was a bug because I'm sick of this. I'm hate playing with newbies. Goes for survivor and killer, I want to play with people who have to same skill as me or who are more experienced because that's a challenge.

The new rank reset best come back because I hate being with low rank players.

I'm perfectly happy with it. As a rank 7 killer, I was facing nothing but top rank 1-2 survivors. When I got booted back down to 13 I'm getting rank 4-8 survivors, which is what I SHOULD be going against in the first place. Not being a punching bag for top ranked survivors with 20 times my hours has made the game far more enjoyable.

  • MMR isn't going to change a thing, it's just going to hide the ranks so you can't complain about how hard BHVR is screwing you. The top ranks are still going to be going against killer they shouldn't, otherwise the queue times will be insane, just like now. BHVR will tempt you with promises of better matchmaking "soon", which will be months away, to keep killers hanging around in hope of something better, which will never come.

So I started playing this game like a month ago and for the first two weeks I mainly played survivor...then I switched over to the killer side. As a survivor you pip for just being in the game...smash a gen, run around a lil bit, drop a couple pallets, they're litteraly on every corner. I didn't even run any meta perks, you don't need them as you can be hooked 3 times which is enough to do your job. Yes sometimes I feel like I got tunneled, but it was mainly cuz I played badly...if you're ######### you deserve the out imo.

On the killer side tho...it's just frustration, gen speed, DS, borrowed time and all that crap, not to mention the matchmaking. I'm not surprised ppl stopped playing killer, it's not fun. The sad part is that it's damn hard to pip and so easy to depip...I don't care about 4k's, just make the game rewarding. You literaly feel like ######### aftering doing a 3k and still black piping lol. And you get bmed at gates, chat...survivors are so mean, salty and can't take an L.1

So if I need to relax I'll play survivor cuz it's easy, rewarding and there's no pressure. If you tilt playing survivor there's something really wrong with you and it's probably your fault, cuz the game gives you so many outs.

Pretty much. Survivor is all about 2nd chances and killer is about playing perfect to even have a chance. There isn't a killer combo out there with anywhere near the power of DS/DH/Unbreakable/Adrenaline/Commodious toolbox.

  • Survivors cry about unfair tactics, perks, and addons all the time. Usually they're running the meta perks and selecting maps like Ormond and Yamokas, but then have the nerve to cry about perceived tunneling and NOED.

My music taste in music is great! You just wouldn’t want to hear my voice while I yell at Daddy Michael to go away.

Everyone thinks their music taste is great, but there's always someone that doesn't. Like I hate rap with a passion, but there are many people that love it. I love classic rock and 90's country, but there are people that can't stand it.

My voice would be a whole lot of... ######### was THAT?!? Oh you've got to be kidding me... YOU TUNNELING SON OF A #########.

Oh god, i feel like I already lose a ton of brain cells reading post game chat. Having to hear some of these people on voice would be ugh, I don't even want to think about it.

It's been like that since voice chat was invented in gaming. The important thing is to be able to mute individual people that think everyone wants to hear their god awful music.

  • Definitely not a good idea. The best idea would be to implement voice chat for all, then buff the living crap out of killers to compensate.

I've never been blinded while staring at a wall ever in DBD. I have probably 4000+ hours on the game even if it's split between killer and survivor. But yeah. Also I'm Myers, if they are dumb enough to come to me and for some strange reason I can't just smack them, I can stalk them. It's a win/win for me. They aren't doing a gen, and one is on the ground so they are not doing a gen. Another is feeding me an insta down whenever I like on a killer with a tiny heartbeat. They are also most likely injured because they were in audio range to try and make the flash light save.

Stop the hyperbole man. I'd gladly enter a game with every survivor having flashlights, I don't need franklin's or lightborn. Those survivors are just gonna feed me free hits, and evil within, while not doing gens while they attempt to make saves and babysit fallen allies. I have zero issues with flashlights at all.

Meyers is why. You play a killer with a power that directly negates shenanigans. It's like Bubba, you don't dare get close. I will join one of those lobbies too. It was just said there's nothing the devs can do to relieve killer stress, when simple tweaks to bully tools would do quite well.

I've already accepted the fact that the DBD devs aren't capable of balancing this game. Not that they don't want to, but they're too limited in skill and imagination to do so.

I play killer in red ranks, against red ranked survivors with Myers quite often. Survivors with flashlights happen. They run at you as soon as you hover over a person's body that you knocked down. Most of the time you can hear it through your headphones. You usually have two options at this point. Grab the survivor while facing a wall, or turn your ass around and smack that flashlight wielding survivor. I usually look at a wall, or to a spot that would be difficult for survivors to flashlight you from just in case they found one in a chest when picking survivors up even when I don't see one in the lobby. Just out of habit.

I feel you on not wanting to get basically bullied until you improve enough to where they can't bully you. I was only addressing your statement that you can't learn from constantly playing players who are better than you. As that's usually the best way possible to learn any game quickly.

DS doesn't actually bother me as killer...unless I've hooked someone, and then I down the person again after. I usually don't pay attention to how long it's been when I've chosen not to hunt them down. I don't agree with if they basically do anything it should get deactivated. The killer could have gotten there just in time to see where the survivor went, and the survivor went to a gen, and the killer slaps them. Like a Myers or Ghostface or something. They still technically got tunneled. But they absolutely didn't get tunneled if someone else got hooked.

As I mentioned, the wall doesn't work. See this thread here for more people griping about the exact same thing. And yes, I know about baiting the flashlight out, except they know and take off in a straight line, only to swing right back around when you go for the pickup. Just slug you say? Great idea....oh crap, they have unbreakable. Meanwhile the gen jockeys with commodious boxes are banging out gens every 45 seconds. So just pressure them off...well ruin is useless, and pop only works after you hook someone, but you can't hook someone when the flashlight mosquito is buzzing around.

So you chase them off gens, but they run to the nearest safe pallet or god loop where it takes 60+ seconds to run them down, whoops, you didn't pressure gens while chasing a survivor because now the gates are powered and the hit you just worked 60 seconds for is negated by adrenaline. So you finally get a hook, where they hook bomb with BT, then body block, and even if you do down him again, he has DS. GGEZ, and nerf billy and noed please, they're OP.

I've noticed with more regularity since this last patch.. how frequently I am getting blinded by what I can only surmise as ghosts, because literally no one else is on my screen. I'm looking at a wall, and I get blinded. What? Survivors at a 90 degree angle from my face should not be blinding me, period. I can't see them, how is that fair?

Get it out of the game please. If I were able to hit survivors THROUGH walls, it'd be hotfixed immediately. This should not be a thing either.

You think that you are just unlucky and you get only pro survivors? I am pretty sure, and you know it probably aswell, that this is more then unlikely. Just an example, i had yesterday a 4man squad, red ranks ofc with a combined playtime of 20.000 hours. (yes, 20 thousend hours!). While most people would either dogde the game i was happy to face such experienced players.

3K with last guy on deathhook by the way. Guess Wraith was 2 powerful for them.

Loosing 10 games out of 10 constantly has nothing to do with killers beeing weak. Keep in mind, killrate is clearly above 50%, on red up to 80%. On top of that, if you really loose all the time, you are probably not in redranks. Unless it is buged again (not for me btw) you should not verse to many red ranked players aswell.

But you are right with one thing: It is pure random what survivors you can skillwise....

Still, if you really hate versing good players, then i might have good news for you: They are working on an improved ranking system, which will probably be like a ELO Ladder. Then you will get survivors that will fit more your skilllevel.

So the best you can hope for (unfortunatly) is that Elo comes fast, but other then that, devs wont ballance around your needs because of obvious reasons.

Good luck with your games :)

I run around rank 6-8. 90% of my matches are against "pro survivors". I watch most of the popular streamers, and what I encounter are what Tru3 calls the top .05%. Ridiculous understanding of the tiles, distances, mindgames, and they all run the meta perks. They basically play optimally and mistake free.

I'm hoping the mmr ranking will be better, but I seriously doubt it.

Dead By Buglight? Bug By Daylight? Bug Bug Bugbug? What should we call this hot mess these days?

Dead by killer bugs, but for the love of god fix the survivor bugs.

    @GoodBoyKaru said:

Yeah nah this game is broken sometimes, and the matchmaking is a prime example of that. I'm looking forward to the new MMR system tbh, because even if its flawed then at least it won't be THIS abomination we have now.

Earlier today I faced three rank 1s. As a rank 10. Its ridiculous.

Two months I've sat in purple ranks getting pure red rank survivors with 2500-4500 hours in the game. Gets old after a while.

I have to disagree, you actually learn the most versus good survivors.

    About your perk suggestions.

DS: I agree, it should be nerfed a bit, i would reduce the timer to 25-30 seconds, but IF you down them during that time, you have to eat DS, no matter what comes.

Flashlights dont need nerfs. There are walls. And you can bait it aswell.

I would be fine with a BT cooldown. But honestly, BT is really only strong vs camping + tunneling. If you really have to proxycamp, then go for the unhooker, not the hooked person.

Gentime is fine. Dont take chases that do not favour you, genpatroling and pressure is way more imporant. After 10-15 seconds without getting a hit, you are more or less forced to break a chase, unless you know that the benefit of a down is really big. Also keep in mind that sometimes a short chase with 1 pallet out of the way is big aswell.

You clearly don't play the same caliber of survivor that I do. I get rank 1's with between 2500-4500 hours. Walls DO NOT WORK against flashlights, I've been blinded where I can only see wall and my weapon. Not to mention the locker tech, survivor jumps in, killer opens it, gets pushed back, and teammate gets the save.

I covered the other points in my response to bloodynights.
