  • They always said it will be 3 weeks after a PTB. They haven't stated otherwise if it would be longer this time around, other than leakers suggesting it would be pushed back a week. So it's sad we have to have a guessing game until 30 minutes before release but we should find out today.

There is a reason that the devs do NOT mess around with killers being able to quickly and cleanly hook things. A killer finishing a chase is meant to be a high point moment for them, and, barring few exceptions, survivors should be *utterly powerless* when being carried.

The last time they added generic anti-carry perks to the game it literally caused a killer strike that drove Qs to 2 hours long at times. You can't balance the concept of making it harder to hook or easier to wiggle out generically. It is just way too toxic to the killer experience.

Like... MAYBE if it also increased carry time, so you don't get ANY additional time alive, you just make body blocks worse and eat a bit more killer time going down? But even that is probably way too much, as bodyblocks are meant to be mega rare because, again, anything that makes the killer feel powerless on pickup is EXTREMELY bad for the game and is so frustrating it actually causes killers to quit. It literally is what killed Deathgarden, for example.

A slowdown even with a time increase is problematic because any amount of slowdown makes it so the killer literally can't hook if you have a SWF bodyblocking. The margins on hook distance are already super thin on many zones and you would create 'carry infinite' spots pretty trivially.

There's pretty much no point in running perks like Breakout and Saboteur at this point. Even Flip-Flop. The hook RNG in the game is ridiculous, i'd rather we started to see some wiggle out plays than what we have in the meta now. The game struggles to allow people to use more than 10% of it's perks. Sure you can argue that Killers should get the hook after winning a chase. At the same time, it's going to require another survivor to come over to help that one wiggle free which is also a pretty dangerous and time consuming act because that's taking off gen pressure...

To me I think killers should feel the pressure of having to run things like Iron Grasp, Mad Grit and Agitation because i think it' pretty pointless to use those perks unless you want to do some basement builds. It would also open up to changing the survivor meta and probably would force the game to be more interactive on both sides instead of this chasing 1 survivor till they're down whilst the rest do gens because that's what we've had for the past 4 years and we should be looking at ways to try and force survivors and killers to interact more and making it beneficial on both sides.

Having perks like Ruin, Undying, DS, Unbreakable, Noed, BT, Adrenaline. They just aren't healthy for the game going forward imo.

I think after receiving feedback on the legendary skins released, they decided to make some of the planned legendarys purple rarity. Which was a good move.

I think the two killer ones currently out are great and can’t wait for an equivalent skin for Hillbilly.

yeah they've been great, Oni and Krampus are always awesome to see in the game

Yeah, hell even Back 4 Blood (Left 4 Dead's soul heir) would work too

I've applied for my Alpha key...I can't wait!

I don't think they will, it would be interesting if they did but its not a 100% chance that they could

But Claire Meg would be nice, and whatever the girly's name from RE4 is for Kate cause apparently her AI wasn't that good

oh god not her "Ashley" ... what a pain she was haha...Oh i think Until Dawn would be awesome to add too, just think there is so many possibilities for crossovers and stuff

  • @Hoodied said:

    RE legendary skins too

So many possibilities with that game

yeah, I don't know if they'd add them to the original Characters? Like have a Leon Legendary for Felix and a Claire for Meg? Be interesting to see how that would work

Imo that was actually a pretty good QnA, one of the best they've had. That's restored a noticeable amount of faith in the devs.

They actually gave stuff to look forward to (clown teaser, wraith buff) and their stance on certain topics.

One question though, why Demo for the next adjustment after huntress add on pass? Demo while not being incredibly strong is one of the more balanced and well designed killers in the game aside from the god awful hitboxes. I would've thought maybe Plague, Hag or Michael, as they are much more problematic from a design perspective than Demo.

    what's wrong with Michael?

  • @Wesker09 said:

Here and even on twitter people are upset with all the deadzones but I don't see the issue. Survivors had so many pallets especially on blood lodge (don't get me started on this map) that they would just waste every pallet willy nilly and so many were safe and not really mind gameable that it got so unbearable, heck when I played survivor I had no worries since there were just so many it didn't matter.

I know it can suck but maybe learn to play smarter and more resourceful and not just waste pallets like crazy (looking at you solo teammates)

Play around the dead zones and maybe use sprint burst more often to help with it?

I wouldn't mind Dead Zones as much if Bloodlust was removed. It doesn't belong in the game if these Dead Zones continue to exist. We need Killers to be force to break pallets and not bloodlust around useless ones to the point they can just catch up to you in 10 seconds.

  • @SupaSlay3r20 said:

I've heard that flashlights are bugged right now. Apperently they don't really shine right where you're pointing them, so that might explain the trouble you're having.

They just don't feel like they do anything at all, pointless to run them

  • @Tarehjerne said:

Just to establish some minimal credibility: i have played this game since its release, i used to really tryhard at this game as the Nurse, but stopped as i just didn't have time anymore. i have seen most changes in the metas and played thousands of games from both sides. Anyhow back to the topic.

Throughout the years of DBD we have seen so many new killers with fun abilities, may it be dancing with a chainsaw or a remote controlled baby there is so much content, but only for killers. Survivors has only seen new perks throughout all the years of this game. There also seems to be a trend to nerf survivors to buff killers, removing pallets and infinites/safe spots are a good example.

Survivors also have to deal with disconnects, which is in most cases against a sentient killer an instant loss.

Survivors have to deal with tilted killers, lets say you run them for a little while and hit them with the head on. You can get facecamped, with absolutely no counterplay.

Ebony mori, an instant win card, although they changed it to require some effort from the killer, the situation feels hopeless, and very unfun. An argument can be made for the survivor keys, but in a game where the killer has an ebony and some good items (looking at you huntress) the killer wins.

They even added a new obstacle, just for killers!

All this combined makes the survivor experience, especially in soloQ very unpleasent and undynamic. Less bloodpoints, the possibility of uncarryable games where your teammates decide to troll or just a killer decided to use their good items, no (big) changes over many years of game development, ect.

I think more content needs to be added for survivors, give us new ways to outplay and maybe new objectives as well. For now, killer is by far the most enjoyable role of all ranks.

    Thanks for reading

Ever since i started playing this game over a year ago. I've always felt every issue in the game stems from the Generators. Tunnelling, camping, survivors toxicity...let's face it, no one likes doing gens on both sides...Killers cba to gen patrol because that's unfun and Survivor prefer to try and bully killer because the chases are fun...then we end up with a very stale game against the clock of who can hook or do a gen the fastest instead of forcing both sides to interact with eachother in some way...like we have immersed players just hiding doing gens the whole game...stealth is a good tactic but they should feel some force to go and do a fun objective to help the team out.

  • @druggedpug69 said:

Why do people find it necessary to make a forum post every time someone does something they don't like? No one cares that some random killer/survivor played like so and so. Just move on to the next trial.

I'm trying to shed light on some issues in the game with certain Killers powers and how they can end a game for someone to have less than 10k points. It makes playing survivor frustrating at times and it's a big issue with the game coming out of a game 5 minutes later with a depip and 6k bloodpoints...you might as well of not played. But people are obviously too blind to the fact that killers can end the game with 25k 0 kills when a survivor can escape depip and even played a good game come out with 24-27k points.

I dunno I guess i see a lot more potential for each trial to be a better interactive experience for both sides whether people get killed or not. I don't know how people can defend someone ever being instantly killed out the game after 2-5 minutes...with getting nothing for it either.

Some don't have that DLC or it unlocked. Others do not like the perk's design and won't use it. Some like me play on Xbox1 and the fps make it unreliable to hit the skillcheck, much like being exhausted on the ground with DH.

    There can be many reasons.

i'm on xbox too and killer is literally close to unplayable at times with fps drops and some survivor games everytime a pallet prompt comes up, frames drop by 5 fps everytime

So pyramid hit you through walls from 20 meters away? Sounds like he was really good man he deserves the down.

Also why are so many people quoting me like I've complained about survivors bringing DS or camping? It's the best perk in the game people should bring it just like I being infectious on oni and ruin/undying on blight. There's no reason to gimp yourself or get mad at people for not playing by imaginary rules you made for them in your head. That's called the scrub mentality.

I said 20 yards he didn't hit me from 20 yards away he chased me from the hook for 20 yards and hit me through a wall...not my fault because he can just spam his long range constantly, seems like you know what you're talking about clearly.

Infectious I rarely see, but yeah same boring meta Undying/Ruin too but i don't complain about that. I'm complaining about getting taking out of a game by a Killer who has no negative effects against spamming his long range and can constantly do it while gaining bloodlust.

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

I legit don’t understand why survivors wouldn’t bring DS.

because I actually want to run some fun builds like healing and stuff rather than the top 10% of perks used in the meta everytime. This game isn't a damn esport or ranked so i don't know why we have these "sweat" perks that are constantly being used on both sides

  • @Crowman said:

I try to play the same way regardless if there is an obsession or not. But if there's no obsession and the recently unhooked survivor runs at me I'm not going to give them a free pass.

Also if I'm getting down to the last 2 gens and no one is dead, then getting the guy on death hook out who was recently unhooked is a smart play.

I get it but on both of these occasions i was camped and they even had other survivors they could go for and decided to go for me instead, i didn't run into the killer in which case i wouldn't complain

  • @lagosta said:

you can equip any obsession related perk to spawn it, even ones that make you less likely to be the obsession. Whenever that happens to a teammate, rush gens and leave. If you're the one on the hook, struggle for as long as you can to buy time. Kindred helps on both sides of the coin here. It's safer to cut your loses as a team and make sure the killer depips.

On a side note, I would love if Camaradeire stopped the struggle time by up to 34 seconds while the user is hooked, within 32m of the killer, and the end game collapse is not active.

Yeah not too many great perks that can spawn the obsession really. MoM for example and For The People both requiring a lot of work forcing you to be injured.

Honestly though i'm just annoyed i depip like i know rank means nothing but i sit at rank 1 and get double pips and single pip games for hours on end sometimes and then 2 games like that, drop down the rank. Feel like the rank system annoys people more than it does anything else.

  • @Zaytex said:

Tunnelling is the strongest strategy if the killer confirms there is no DS/BT or has methods to negate either one.

I understand its ''toxic'' to some people and its un-fun, but I heavily doubt the survivors in that match wouldn't have rushed gens and abused strong loops if they had the chance.

Rushing gens and spawning god loops isn't in the Survivors control unfortunately and with the new map rewords there is less and less god loops and more and more dead zones.

  • @Weasdat said:

If you looped better you might have gotten away. Also please don't blame killers for making the correct play because you decided not to bring the strongest perk in the game.

"If You Looped Better" lmao how can i loop a killer who is basement camping? You want me to jump in a locker and teleport out or something. As for the second game i got camped by Pyramid head, he hit my BT with his long range, chased me like 20 yards and hit me through a wall with his long range...not sure how that's primarily down to my skill at looping. On top of that, i'm not gonna force myself to run a perk i don't like just because a killer may want to tunnel or not. Like I said it's massive flaw in the games design...

  • I hate how literally using anything but the top like 5-10% of perks is worthless...try running a Sabo build with Breakout, MoM...so pointless even with 2 oak offerings on, literally 6 hooks within 10 meters of eachother. Oh you don't force yourself to run borrowed time? Here's a depip because Killers tunnel EVERY game...On top of that the bloodweb system is terrible. I'm sorry i've got to spend 150,000 points to get one perk at tier 3 pretty much, being P3 50 character. Btw getting 150,000 bloodpoints on survivor probably take an hour depending on offerings...not to mention my dead characters I can't really use because they have no offerings and why would i spend bloodpoints on characters without offerings to gain more bloodpoints or play a good map or to even use an item that i have loads of on a character i don't like to play as....

I feel like these are bad issues in the game that will never get addressed. Most maps are becoming really dead zone orientated and with the current bloodlust with Undying and Ruin meta, Killer literally has the power role right now...and it seems I might be a "entitled survivor" these are underlying issues that even SWF's will struggle with these days, which is sad for people like me who rarely plays on coms with a full team or at all...

Again i can see certain issues with also playing Killer "gen speed too quick" that may be on some maps but not really the case anymore. I shouldn't be getting a 4k on Shelter Woods with Myers so easily before 3 gens are done. But that happens because there's about 5 pallets on that map and I can get easy bloodlust with tier 3 speed.

The pip system is a complete waste of time and only aggravates the players...oh I got instantly tunnelled and mori'd here is a instant Depip and 3k bloodpoints....what is the point in playing a match like that? I even feel like when i play Killer and 2/3 people escaped the hatch at the end I still even safety pip because i've managed to get enough points and even if i don't safety pip, i'm laughing my way to the bloodweb with all my killer bloodpoints i got by doing nothing.

The fact is though, we will never see these changes that so desperately need to be made in the game, everyones opinion get's silenced or i feel ignored, i've offered a lot of feedback in surveys and on the forums and i get it you can't please everyone. But my issues i've talked about and if they got addressed would please EVERY player on the game.

P.S please add a bloodmarket, the game is crying out for it. Having the ability to share items across characters is a must. Let us sell the worthless 600 brown toolboxes that will never get used for some small bloodpoint reward or even a trade up system...

  • Yeah at this point though if we aren't getting rewards, rather they just did away with ranks. Kinda pointless stressing trying to maintain rank 1 for no reason...the whole pip and bloodpoint/bloodweb system needs a overhaul.

  • @OldHunterLight said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1748169#Comment_1748169

Oh then I didn't get them, I got reset to rank 5 on both sides from 1, they probably haven't added the rewards if they do decide to give them.

I think it was the leaks that said it. The rank reset rewards got merged with the live version of the game and from now on everyone should get

    Rank 17 - 20 = 10 000 Bloodpoints

    Rank 16 - 13 = 30 000 Bloodpoints

    Rank 12 - 9 = 100 000 Bloodpoints

    Rank 8 - 5 = 150 000 Bloodpoints

    Rank 4 = 200 000 Bloodpoints

    Rank 3 = 210 000 Bloodpoints

    Rank 2 = 225 000 Bloodpoints

    Rank 1 = 250 000 Bloodpoints

  • @Gerneral_Buckness said:

What is theoretical? I didn't say that every survivor squad is out to troll the killer, nor did I make any statement regarding game balance. What I said was that, this way, killers can't be trolled by sabo squads, which is an objective fact.

You just said you'd hate if half your team was out to troll the Killer, which is Theoretical because I doubt if event hooks were breakable every game you'd get would be sabo squads looking to troll the Killer so you're basing your opinion on assumptions and not facts. Hooks don't stay broken for long anymore either, so really don't see why they should remained blocked.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1711847#Comment_1711847

In this particular instance it's turning out great. Killers can't be trolled by sabo squads and trials can progress more or less normally. I'd hate to be in a trial where half my teammates are just out to troll the killer by sabotaging event hooks.

This is all theoretical not every Survivor squad is out to troll the killer. Same goes for balancing. Feel like all I see is people trying to suggest every game is the top 10% of sweaty SWF's because it's not and i'm tired of seeing this as an excuse.

  • Yep and look how that's turning out for the game

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1711817#Comment_1711817

If survivors hadn't trolled killers en masse before, this wouldn't be necessary. Unfortunately they did, so it is. You'll just have to hold off on sabotaging hooks until after the event, I suppose.

Well just sounds like a design flaw to me. Inability to be creative in finding a solution to the problem so they decide to just block it. Makes sense

  • @gibblywibblywoo said:

It's pretty lame. I've already had a few matches where a teammate would have survived had I been able to sabo a certian hook. Really dumb. It made sense with the last 2 events where you had to use them as there were actual sabo SWF troll squads but now its silly.

People sabotage hooks anyways like I don't see the point in getting annoyed about not being able to hook someone, you only get like what 4k bps? Pretty lame...how about Corrupt covering up Blighted Generators for 2 minutes?

  • @TragicSolitude said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1709769#Comment_1709769

Don't really need to sabotage event hooks. They're always so far away, the majority of survivors get off my shoulder before I get to one.

Again I was making the play to Sabotage the hook as I took a protection hit...I wasn't purposely looking to sabotage it because it was a event hook. Not sure how survivors are wiggling free because everytime I go down the game makes sure there's at least 3 hooks 5 meters away.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1709769#Comment_1709769

The current system works just fine, so there's no reason to waste time implementing a different one.

I mean it doesn't work fine because I wouldn't be on the forums complaining about it. Shouldn't stop a survivor from doing something just because it could be "trolling"...

  • @Mandy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/201221/why-cant-i-sabotage-event-hooks

Event Hooks are usually "unsabotagable" - this is there to prevent trolling as much as possible.

As someone else suggested it would of been better if they did it so the event hook moves to a different one after Sabotage

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1708550#Comment_1708550

They are irrelevant because the devs explicitly stated those stats were just from trials that advanced the challenges.

So we are supposed to just ignore stats just because they're part of challenges...makes sense.

  • @bubbabrotha said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1708491#Comment_1708491

A good solution would be to teleport the event hook to the closest normal hook.

Yeah i'd be fine with that. With the hook rng the way it is right now on most maps, it wouldn't be that difficult to carry to another hook.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1708543#Comment_1708543

No, because you're using irrelevant stats to justify your attempt at ruining other players' trials.

Dude all I see is you on the forums trying to constantly 1up people who give an honest opinion on the game. Do you actually play the game yourself? How are they exactly irrelevant stats when the whole game is about surviving and getting kills.

No doubt they would be relevant if it showed 20 million Kills vs 6.7 million Escapes.

  • and why is that? because i'm giving my opinion on a dumb mechanic? lol the game is 2 sided...you're going to have people who are defending their side of the coin. I play both and personally I couldn't give a f if someone sabotaged a event hook. Stop making assumptions about me when you don't know how I play the game.

Just makes me laugh when all I read is people complaining with how "OP" survivors are when Killers clearly get a lot more Kills than survivors escape. Take kills out of the equation and look at the bloodpoint difference too.

Feel like most people just see this game as oh look a killer getting abused by some top 5% SWF's...let's go complain about it, when really most games are, getting hooked once, lucky to get saved by randoms, dead.

  • @Buttercake said:

Ugh! Why are they always so killer sided! 😊

I mean stats don't lie. 50 million kills vs 6.7 million escapes lol

  • @elpoh said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/201221/why-cant-i-sabotage-event-hooks

enought with the fact they usually are far away and takes more time to reach them...

what's the point of annoying someone who is tryning to get the extra bloodpoints from them?

I mean, not really sure why Killers need even more bloodpoints than what they get anyways. But it's a risky play for a survivor to sabo a hook and takes abit of timing, if killers are really that bothered about them being far away, use stuff like Iron Grasp, but I honestly don't see why Killers need to worry about walking out the game with like 4k extra bp's when most games they leave with 60k+ with BBQ.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

To avoid that Killers cannot get their "Event" Objective done. Even tho, with 30 seconds until the Hook is back, it is not that much of a problem anymore, but back in the days when it took Hooks 3 minutes to respawn, it was not good at all that Event Hooks were able to be sabotaged.

Wow, that's pretty dumb, Survivors should get some points for Sabotaging them, I took a protection hit for my friend and went to get a clutch sabo for it to only slap me in the face xD

    Bugs?

yeah bussines as usual with dbd! happily nothing gamebreaking for me (yet)

    Cash grab?

Nobody forced me to bought anything yet! I only bougt the premium pass for the rift with the auric cell I spent (and got reinbursed) with the first one! (I didn't even bought the Cybil Bennet set because is too expensive for me, despite I being a huge fan of Silent Hill)

    Discounts?

Well, as a conscious buyer I never buy anything day one, so only I will benefit from this, the devs are giving me free daily login rewards, so this time, aside from the "103" bugs plaguing the game, I really have nothing to complain about!

I even got the Dwight scarecrow charm spending a hour(in my sunday) in the Samination's YT stream, a kind soul post a code in the chat, I ctr+c and ctr+V in the game store, and voila!!! got mine!

I call devs trying to get cash flowing to keep the game alive and with new content!!!

And so far there are no predatory practices like in companies like EA or bethesda, thera are no loot boxes for naming an example!

this company took in $118 million in revenue...you telling me they need more money to keep the game alive lol

Is it just me or is behavior just phoning it in now. They come out with a half assed halloween event. It took them weeks to fix the offering for the 4th anniversary. There are known game breaking bugs they ignore just to release more skins. They give us theses development livestreams just to appear like they still care when they don't. At this point I'm starting to believe they should just minecraft with the game, and sell it to a company that will actually care about the community they built up. Also if you still have complaints about mmr remember xbox had it for a month longer then anyone else, and behavior just ignored them. They also like to ignore the fog whisperer who are now just playing to not break a contract, but have lost all passion for the game. It would be best for everyone if they just sold to a big company (######### even EA treats their fans better).

I agree and I don't think anyone can defend them at this point. So many issues on both sides of the game but i've been saying this since the start of this year that these devs are way out of their depth with this game. They don't seem to listen to anyone's feedback either. I'd love for them to sell the game to a bigger company. The revenue they make from this game per year I doubt they will until people start boycotting purchases.

The game needs several updates that focus only on balance and game health. However I think they believe at this point if they stop pumping out new content the game will actually die. It's like the game is soooo buggy that new content is all that's keeping whats left of the player basis. "Were knee deep in it now. The only way out is forward"

maybe they should adapt the "Quality over Quantity" method and make some Quality improvements that aren't going to break the game. This game still feels like a beta

There are many more fundamental changes that should be focused on rather than this imo. Eg. performance

let's face it. We've been asking for performance and bug updates for god knows how long...I was trying to be realistic in something they could actually do because it seems they only want the aesthetic of the game to do well not the actual gameplay experience

Officer Hopper, Joyce byers... any other ideas?

fix demos addons maybe? maybe a map in the abyss?

We definitely need more Stranger Things stuff. It's probably their biggest cash cow and i'm surprised they haven't been trying to milk it for more money. Either way, I'd love to see Billy & Robin in the game. They have said we will get Licensed Archives so maybe we will get a Stranger Things one.

I've been playing survivor everyday since the event started, and this lag has been absolutely atrocious. I'm worried that the lag won't be fixed until the event is over (we're practically halfway through already). If that ends up being the case, then all PS4 users should be gifted at least a million bloodpoints to make up for the fact that the event was practically unplayable.

This lag not only hinders chases, but it also hinders skill checks. This year's event has been difficult enough as it is for obvious reasons, but this lag makes it the worst event I personally have ever played, and a nice bloodpoint gift is the least BHVR can do.

I would say no because a few weeks ago I wasn't even able to load the game up (as well as a few other who owned a Project Scorpio Xbox) as it was causing the console to crash, so I couldn't play for a week+ and we got nothing for it.

Perhaps I still think its better though.

Well any buff is going to make a perk better. I'm just saying survivors should be more rewarded. In fact I believe the whole BP, pip and rank system needs reworked. It's tremendously flawed to make the whole experience gruelling.

WGLF actually just buffed nicely so its a lot easier to get 4 stacks in a match. Play well and you'll be rewarded.

I know it got "buffed"...you have to attempt FL and Pallet Saves...if it stacked for the ability of picking people up off the ground it would make sense, the perk is so dis-jointed. Going out of your way of doing the objective, wasting a lot of time...even with WGLF stacks your leaving the game with 40-60k maybe. Most killer games i play with BBQ i get stacks for literally doing my objective and come out with 70-90k games.
