I've yet to see a single sensible argument detailing how the perk breaks the game in such a way that warrants receiving a nerf.
All the complaints about it embelish MFT's effect on the average game and neglect to acknowledge the existing mechanics that allow Killers to counter and/or play around it.
And yet, people continue to make posts talking as if everybody knows this perk is a problem.
unfun to verse
I'm sorry, but if this is true, you fundamentally disagree with DBD's core gameplay loop. MFT does not change Survivor gameplay in any meaningful way--it just makes Survivors slightly better at what they already do.
Goes against BHVRs design philosophy for haste perks (look at dark theory, hope, BP etc)
The perk follows the same logic as every other perk in the game; low impact, unconditional activation; high impact, conditional activation.
Self-Care and Circle of Healing have long been among the most popular perks in the game, and medkits have always been understood to be the best item in the game. Dead Hard was THE most popular perk, because it gave injured Survivors a third health state. ...yet suddenly, with the release of MFT, people want to claim that "being injured is not a big deal."
MFT is a high impact perk with the condition that Survivors need to be in their most vulnerable state. Survivors have long sought to mitigate the threat that came from being injured, so the notion that being injured is insignificant directly contradicts this game's entire history.
Tiles, structures, maps, and killer powers are not balanced around a 20-30% longer catch up time
Killer powers are absolutely capable of handling the distance MFT creates. There are a few (Doctor, Legion, and Trickster) who will feel pigeon-holed into running specific perks/add-ons to account for a meta-shift, but everyone else in the roster can play around MFT with their basekit ability.
I can elaborate on what I've said already, or respond to your other bullet points, should you so desire. Otherwise, I'll leave it there for sake of brevity.
"It just makes Survivors slightly better at what they do", "MFT does not change Survivor gameplay in any meaningful way".
"MFT is a high impact perk".
So which is it? Does the perk have high impact or is it meaningless? You cant argue that it's activation condition "must be strong" while saying "the perk is weak and meaningless", it literally just contradicts what you are saying.

It's not surprise. Perk is not problematic, it's just fine. If devs see any issue with it, they will just nerf it. They are more brave with nerfing things lately.
So if they did not nerf MfT, data just shows perk is fine. Just deal with it.
Isnt it funny how "data shows X is fine" was used to defend Nurse being busted... and here we are, with Made For This... it is a "nerf for thee but not for me" type of situation I presume? The truth is that the data doesnt show anything meaningful, we all know this, stop pretending like it does.
In all seriousness, Made For This provides too much value, at least in my opinion from playing against it and using it. Remove the Haste effect or remove the Endurance effect; it shouldnt have both. Its downside of "doesnt work while Exhausted" is easy to work around, since there are Exhaustion perks with niche activation conditions.
-
It's a good perk; healing being slowed down AND the ability to regress healing.
Also it's a Universal Perk, if it was a Shareable Perk or tied to a certain character, youd probably see it less.
-
Im assuming this about the Scratchmark Background; It can be enabled and disabled in the settings.
-
I havent done the survey yet, but Im assuming we can be more specific with what we put?
Since Blight's addons definitely need a nerf, and I really do not want them to get the Billy treatment where they get an unneeded basekit nerf, I want to be able to articulate that concern.
-
I honestly havent even started the new challenges yet, a lot has been going on with my life, but Ill try my best to get the community stuff done as soon as I can though.

You only know who didn't bring a cake at the end of the game, how can you see that at the beginning? Like you memorize the place in the lobby and you see the cake in the loading screen, like that you can know?
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3467379#Comment_3467379
And the mocking/insulting part?
When pulling up the menu mid-match; you can see the order of offerings. The order of the offerings correlates with the Survivors who brought them. If a Survivor didnt bring an Offering, there will be a gap or displacement present.
Survivors top to bottom; Offerings left to right.
Good tip for knowing who brought Map Offerings, so you know who may have brought perks around the map (Balanced on Haddonfield; Boil Over on Eyrie; etc).
But it takes awhile to get use to, if you practice looking and predicting which belongs to who, youll become a master at it in no time!

Hope, Lightwieght, We're Gonna Live Forever, and Iron Will could go up a tier.
Hope is an A-Tier perk, it has flaws, which is why I think it wont ever be S-Tier, but it is (in my opinion) significantly better than Adrenaline since it exchanges one-time value for an extended value, which as we've seen with perks like Made For This, can be really damn strong.
We're Gonna Live Forever, in my opinion, is just really underrated. Everyone used it for Bloodpoints before, now you rarely see it. This perk, in it's current state, is amazing as an anti-snowball perk. And the new Endurance effect is pretty handy in a handful of situation.
Iron Will may be my most controversial opinion, but I believe that it's effect is still amazing even after the nerfs. 75% reduction of grunts of pain does not seem like much, but you have to consider the fact that the chase music covers the remaining 25%. You effective cannot be accurately tracked in the middle of a chase. I know someone will mention "oh but it is designed for Stridor to override Iron Will now" but most Spirits dont use Stridor anymore, because nobody uses Iron Will anymore.
-
I seriously wonder why they did this, their addons were good as they were and nothing needed to be changed further (IMO).
Likewise, how did Made For This not even get changed?

Kinda wish I could at least say GG in the endgame chat. Nintendo is kinda overprotective and allows no chat options on the switch. Just steamrolled a team who must be scratching their heads at my P1 Bubba with a half-assed build. They actually were pretty good, but alas... I'm not even allowed to SEE chat. I keep wiffing hits because I'm still rusty and use to mouse and keyboard, but Bubba's chainsaw is NASTY now.
Yea his Chainsaw is pretty good now. Back when Bubba came out, people would only camp because his power just sucked in chase. Now you can actually use their Chainsaw in chase, and if you are skilled enough, you put people into 50/50s where you almost always get a down or a pallet out of the way.
You can use their Iridescent addon to get their old Chainsaw back, but I do not recommend it since (for some reason) you move really, really slow.

I noticed, lol. Rebought Bubba last night and getting use to the changes with him. Really wish cross progression was a thing... rip. My PC account had Demogorgon.
Cross-progression was in the works but BHVR said they cannot do it yet because some things are out of their control.
I assume it may be something to do with Microsoft and Sony since they are really stingy when it comes cross-platform stuff.
But I understand how you feel since my Demogorgan is on PS4 and I moved to PC leaving them behind... which still pains me.

Blight saved DBD for me. I probably wouldn’t play DBD without blight.
I can tell... because of your name, of course.
Since you main Blight, do you have any advice for a Billy main trying to learn Blight?
Ive mostly been using Vigo's Journal and Blighted Crow when I play them.
-
I personally have no issue atm with playing as and against Hux.
I just dont think many people will want to play them since their multi-management can be stressful for some people.
-
Welcome back, a lot has changed with the game, so hopefully you find yourself having a good time with it!
Also the Anniversary Event is active, so should be able to make a lot of progress on unlocking perks/content you previously had unlocked.
-
I mean, I could post a lot of screenshots of me winning and/or losing and try to make the argument that "I have proof of X" but that does not really mean much. People lose and win all the time, it's nothing inherently new.
But I partly agree with you here, Wraith is not as bad as people make them out to be, that being said, he also isnt the best either, they get outclassed by many, many Killers; and Wraith has a lot of strengths and weakness working for and against them.
-
I run Dissolution anyways, all this does it just free up a perk slot for the event.
-
Im confused, what is this about?

It might have helped if you made the image formats a bit a smaller so it is easier to see.
DBD Forum posts get more reception if they are short and get straight to the point (or absurd, to the point of being borderline bait).

I got post-game chat harassment because I was "camping the hook", when in reality, it was just Dark Devotion attaching my Terror Radius on the Obsession that was hooked.

Nic Cage is going to be the new Killer.
Nic Cage is going to be the new Survivor.
The new map is Nic Cage.
There is also a new special item being added, called Nic Cage.
-
Killers do get BL, it's not that hard, it just takes 15 seconds and running around a loop a few times is enough to get it.
I personally dont mind it if Killers use their powers, but some people just entirely rely on the Exposed from the event, which bothers me because I know it will hinder their improvement later down the line, but other than that it is fine imo.

Survivors finally realised they can win more by doing gens instead of just doing nothing.
I hope this continues on past the event. Having teammates doing gens for once is nice.
Once the event is over, a decent chunk of the experienced players will leave for a bit to play other games until the mid-chapter/PTB.
You have to think realistically, people have no reason to play when +535% BP isnt on the table after the Anniversary, especially when everyone knows that people will just hoard the event offerings.

They are grouping at with 2 gens left not at 5 gens. Grouping up towards the end is very efficient.
It depends.
Since splitting Generators even when 2 Generators are remaining STILL can be insanely viable and more efficient depending on the perks the Killer is bringing.
Pop Goes (which is in the current meta) can only be applied to one Generator at a time, splitting your focus heavily restricts the value the Killer can make and requires them to make a choice between how they use it.
So late-game doubling Generators is a huge "maybe" due to nuance at the end of the match. However at the start of the match? Nope.

Good for you if you like blast mine, what doesn't make sense is why you bring it up on a thread about PGTW. It's unrelated, it's not even a counter, you just felt like bringing it up because you like the perk I guess.
And "there are worse things" is whataboutism. There isn't only ONE developer changing the game, the fact that other things are worse doesn't mean Pop is ok.
Well... not entirely unrelated... PGTW does have a timer, and Blast Mine has prevented a few PGTW kicks on Generators, so it's not entirely useless. I was just stating that Im fine with the current meta, I do not see much issue in it.
Killers are rewarded by hooking Survivor using SH:PR and PGTW, this is all Ive wanted for a really long time seeing how we the Call of Brine, Eruption, and Overcharge meta was obnoxious. And with SH:PR and PGTW, they get strong early regression but seemingly tend to suffer later in the match.
Also Im not attempting to use "whataboutism" as an argument, my apologies, but I personally just have no issue with PGTW in it's current state. Killers are progressing the game, and matches feel normal for once in awhile, dare I even say "fun".
-
Discordance doesnt show "genrushing", it shows inefficiency.
It's 2023. We all know the efficient way to do Generators is to split up and repair separately. Discordance shows the polar opposite.
If it was Gearhead, I would agree, otherwise, no.
-
Having them be Commodious Toolboxes is a bit of the mistake... instead, I think they should be their own type of Toolbox different from the rest.
They should receive a buff in repair speed and charges when an event is active, but outside of the event they should be worse, this way it promotes using the items while the event is active instead of hoarding them.

1) you can't blast mine every generator.
2) the rate of your blast mine is lower than the rate of a pop
3) it's a 5 second stun and then what? how many blast mines in a game? 3? that's 15 seconds against 2 or 3 extra gens worth of time.
Useless solution.
Cool, unfortunately I literally do not care. I like Blast Mine, it's funny, and I want people to kick my Generators.
Pop Goes is fine the way it is either way, coming from someone who plays SoloQ a lot, their are far more problematic/frustrating things in the game than PGTW.

Ahem...

Pighouse Gloves when from a good addon to a meme addon ever since the overheat changes. That addon needs a complete rework or buff since overheating is damn near impossible.

I haven't found the party pallets that difficult to play around. If you can avoid the pallet stun then the survivor is a free hit. But if it's working for you then keep at it.

“Survivors constantly losing because of solo q” and “killers constantly losing because of SWF” are both equally unbelievable.
The issue with both is lack of accountability.
You can lose to a SWF, and you can lose in SoloQ, but blaming it entirely on either is a bad thing to do, since it ignores the idea that you could have made mistakes and could improve in some areas.
I lose all the time while playing SoloQ, but Ive been trying to use it as a learning experience to improve since I just really suck at Survivor specifically. Even with Killer, which is a role that I am significantly better at, I use every opportunity as a learning opportunity.

Saying gg even when you lose is good sportsmanship.
Anyway, the killer suspecting SWF might be simply caused by the HUD. Had a match where i saw a teammate had almost finished the gen, so i went right to the gate. Better coordination can happen with the HUD, so its natural that killers suspect SWF.
It goes beyond just when you lose. I always try to create a positive environment around me regardless if I win or lose.
There is a specific reason why I put the "WP" or "Well Played" when saying "GGWP", because regardless of the skill level, all players put forth their best effort, which I consider to be worthy of such. It applies to everyone, not just a single person, not just the Survivors, not just the Killer, EVERYONE.

@shalo said:
NO hooks the entire game and you say ggwp, how did you think that would go?
It's called "good sportsmanship"?
I always say "ggwp" regardless if I win or lose, and I always say "good luck, have fun next match" as well, it's just customary in many of the games that I play (Warframe, Battlebit Remastered, Deep Rock Galactic, etc).

I never had that mind set even while learning killer, people are just bad at this game and want to blame it on something. Guy probably spent zero time trying to learn the game from other people outside the game or has 0 talent for the game, pick one. Likely the first one or both considering how he reacted, you don't just start calling out swfs without having preconceived notions about the game as a whole via social media.
I wonder if there is a specific part of the community, group, or persons behind that mindset being so prominent though. Since Ive seen a spark in it recently.
-
It's in the Config Folder, you just have to look carefully though.
-
Game 1:
Facecamped and BMed on hook... what did I do? I ran the Killer for too long and died to T3 Bloodlust at an unsafe pallet. They could have left chase at any point but decided to not do so, they lost the match because of it, and apparently it's my fault.
Once I died on hook, they DCed to make sure that nobody remaining in the match got Bloodpoints for escaping through the Exit Gates. Truly the highest level of pettiness.
Killer harassed me and my friend in the post-game, apparently I deserved it for running a "genrush build" despite the only Generator thing I brought was a toolbox, and I only used that for Blast Mine.
Game 2:
Facecamped and BMed on hook by a Wesker at 5 Generators remaining... what did I do? I Blast Mined them. Yep. That's all I did to deserve being facecamped. Blast Mine.
Game 3:
Now, you might see the hooks and instantly think "this guy is camping for pressure" but nope. This guy had been camping literally every single hook they got and failing horribly at it.
Camping for pressure is definitely a strategy, but unironically they lost this match because they camped too much and did a poor job at it.
Game 4:
Oh, this time that I got camped by a Nurse at the start of the match... they are staring right at a Survivor in this screenshot, but they dont actually go for them. They just come back to the hook and hit me on hook.
What did I do? Well, I think you can connect the dots from the previous stuff, people really hate Blast Mine apparently.
-
What do you mean "again"? It's always been viable.

Play killer and find out what the issues are.
I guarantee you, its not as one sided as you think.
I never said Killer didnt have issues, I said Survivor has too many issues, I said that for a reason.
When I bought DBD, many years ago, I bought it to play Survivor and Killer, I do not want to be forced to exclusively play a single side because BHVR has neglected issues with one side.
-
@Tsulan said:
Have you considered playing killer during the event? You can play as farmy as you want and the only thing that can ruin it, is survivors rushing out.
If your solution is to play a certain role during an event because the other one has too many issues, then clearly something is wrong and should be changed. (IMO)
-
I assumed this is just the norm.
I guess you can just use Corrupt Intervention and/or Lethal Pursuer to help with early game pressure but Idk.

Well, tbh the only time I bring Generator repair perks is just when I bring in Blast Mine.
Im not even trying to get the objective done, I just want as many Blast Mine stuns as possible.
-
The issue here is that you are comparing apples to bananas. Survivor and Killer work inherently different, which means their perks should fundamentally function differently.
Killers should have to work for regression, because it incentives them to progress the game, instead of extending it for a long time and not hooking anyone (which made is possible to take people hostage). With Call of Brine, Eruption, and Overcharge, we saw a meta, SoloQ specifically suffered the most, so much so that I outright stopped playing Survivor because half of my matches were people taking the game hostage and the other half were 20-30 minute matches where the only result would be a loss.
Survivors do have perks that activate passively, and some (such as Made For This specifically) should be nerfed, but they are forced to progress their objective (doing Generators) because the Killer inherently forces them to otherwise they will die. I know someone will mention "you said Killers could take the game hostage, but so can Survivors" but Survivors can do that without perks by hiding, and Im not supporting people that do that, but the current meta does not enforce the idea of "taking the game hostage" at the moment, especially when it is centered around getting the Generators done and leaving as fast as possible.
There are of course nuances to this topic, since Survivors and Killers do have perks that activate passive, that's just how things are, but you have to understand what scenarios do and do not allow for such.

Yup, got 2 masks out of about 15 survivor games. Switched to killer played 6 games and got a mask each match.
Yesterday I played 42 games and only got 2 masks. Almost every match I was tunneled out, camped, bleed out, and my average BP per match was 12k excluding BP offerings (roughly 60k per match with event offerings).
Realistically, it took me longer to P3 a Survivor during an event where +535% BP is possible almost every game than P3ing a Killer normally.
-
Me and my friends do Perk Roulette SWF sometimes (they rarely play, but when we do, it's all they do), and having this feature would be amazing since it saves so much time as well.
Would be nice if it could also do Items, Offerings, and Killers as well.
