Most likely, the bot will “possess” the character that just dc’d. That is to say, take over as they were. There’s no need for them to respawn if they just take the wheel.

If they were to start fresh, you’d get scenarios where a killer has to play a full match against 4 completely untouched bots, when the match already has come to a conclusion. That’s ludicrous.

    Agreed.

DBD Mobile (which is treated completely different as base game DBD because it is managed and run by a company other than BHVR) has it so the player is automatically replaced by a bot, taking all of their perks, appearance, hook state, and position. One can assume that BHVR is going to do the same here.

One thing that Im curious about is if BHVR is going to loosen up DC requirements when this system is implemented, since I still a DC penalty is needed, to not disturb match flow, but it should at least be loosened so busy individuals dont get punished as much if they need to log off.

  • I made an entire rant about Boil Over but I think it is applicable here.

Sometimes, as a player, you are at the mercy of hook RNG. As Killer, you can get complete deadzones where you literally cannot hook Survivors, meanwhile as Survivor, you have areas where hooks are 2-inches apart and you are bound to be hooked.

Hook RNG and map design needs to be looked at a bit, in my opinion.

  • I stay in the gates so I can make sure my teammates leave safely (so I can bodyblock if needed).

I also stay if the Killer is on me just to buy my team more time if they need it.

The amount of killers that are borderline unusable on console is a joke and I don't understand why we let this slide.

    1. Huntress
    2. Trickster
    3. Hillbilly
    4. Oni
    5. Nurse
    6. Deathslinger
    7. Wesker (though not the worst offender on this list)
    8. Nemesis (though again, not the worst offender)

Every single one of their powers have something in common, and that's that controller is locked behind sensitivity and as such, console players don't get to experience these killers in the same way that pc users do.

I don't understand why we're missing out just because of the system we choose to play on. We're paying for the chapters just as pc users are and aren't getting the full benefit

You must be joking if you think Hillbilly is unusable on Console?

Coming from a former Console player, my main Killer on there was Hillbilly, because your joysticks allowed for consistent turning that made curving easy. In fact, I would argue it is easier than Keyboard and Mouse since you have to swap from Mouse to Q/E to curve which sometimes doesnt end well.

My only gripe was that you needed 100% sensitivity to turn at the maximum amount of degrees at the start of a Chainsaw Sprint, but it's not necessarily needed since 80% sensitivity still lets you flick your camera where you need.

I think the issue with Billy entirely has to do with his power. It's clunky, so most people opt into others Killers. Nobody actually takes the time to learn Billy and they would much rather complain about his issues instead of actually trying to learn them.

survivors tunnel gens as killers tunnel survivors to gain an advantage. if a killer tunnels a survivor to make the game a 3 vs 1 it is seen as bad (the whole killers should go for hooks not kills mentality)...yet survivors dont finish a gen halfway leave and go work on another gen unless they are chased off.

killers proximity camping a survivor (especially when the other survivors are injured or there are gens nearby that are regressing/can be patrolled) or in the rare case of a killer having two survivors on a hook close to each other...why would the killer leave to go find another survivor? it makes no logical sense...if two survivors proximity camp a gen (1 leading the killer on a chase so the 2nd can loop back and finish the gen) why is it seen as bad for the killer p.o.v. but not from the survivor p.o.v. when it is the exact same scenario?

both survivors and killer are trying to do their objectives as efficiently as possible especially as their mmr rank rises if they want to get kills or escapes...so why is there such a double standard to camping and tunneling when both sides do it to a degree?

this new ptb patch is going to add a hook escape and perks to make repairing gens even faster so it seems like both objectives from the killer p.o.v. are seen as bad (here is your stick eventually you will get your carrot) so it seems like the developers are fixing the problem for one side.

    what are the communities thoughts?

I can already tell that the words "tunneling generators" is just going to lead to community uproar without even looking at the replies.

WOOOO community discourse, ya love to see it (not really, it sucks to see).

Pretty odd to do that if you pop the first gen that quick.

    It was a Knight.

Most players off themselves on hook when they see Knight or Dull Merchant.

I'm pretty sure even Skull Merchant mains agree that 99% of matches against her worthy of being added to the Geneva convention. It's unbearable, which is sad because I've seen a couple of mains player her in very interesting ways. But that requires WAY too much effort on a killer that really isn't all that good.

You're not entitled, you are airing what most people feel. It's fine and normal. People who say the contrary are delusional, spiteful toward survivors or trolling. I genuinely hope you're having some fun with killer at least. Here's hoping we rarely ever see this killer after the tome ends.

Killer has been fun, since Ive been playing other games more, I am really rusty, but overall it's just been fun.

I even have a few clips here and there that Ive also gotten from playing as well.

They had server outages from DDOSing and from a lack of funding, but a community member donated thousands to keep the help bring the servers back online again. This happened a long time ago though, and things are fine now.

It's rumored that if the servers cant be funded anymore, the developers are just going to make the game peer-to-peer.

You're gonna have to provide proof on that, as both screenshots you put in your original post show that the feature is working as intended, and I have yet to see anyone else mention that it's broken in the few weeks its been out until now.

Automatic buy only kicks in once a character is at Prestige 1. Note how your Pig has no prestige but Plague is P3.

You'll notice the same is true of any characters you don't yet have prestiged at all.

I have characters that have not been prestiged yet that have access to the Automatic Purchase, likewise I have characters that are Prestige 3 and also do not have it either.

  • You mean CoH or B: Circle of Healing? CoB or Call of Brine is a Killer perk.

Either way, it can be a good perk, it's better in SWF than SoloQ, but it can still be useful. Most Killers dont bother to snuff Boons nowadays so you dont really have to worry too much about losing it and needing to re-bless the totem. But it cannot be used effectively by yourself anymore.

If you want reliable self-healing, Inner Healing is your best bet, maybe even running Small Game or Detective Hunch if you are not the best with finding totem locations (or get Backwater Swamp/Indoor-Maps). Medkits are still really good, just they take longer to heal, still more time efficient than altruistic healing unless Mangled is in play.

  • @Brandon48 said:

Not sure about his perks but I’m predicting one of Nicholas Cage’s perks is going to be like residual manifest/pharmacy but with maps instead, in reference to the Declaration of Independence he stole in one of his movies. Just a fun prediction.

Well, if Gabriel is "resourceful" and it is Sci-Fi themed, I think one of his perks would be like Residual Manifest but for Toolboxes since they could be a space engineer. And seeing how Pharmacy covers Medkits and RM covers Flashlights, the only thing left is Toolboxes and Maps, but Maps dont really make sense here.

OP mentioned this (and sorry OP but I didnt read that part, I just completely skipped over it because of my ADHD) and I think it makes sense.

As for Nick Cage having a perk that covers Maps, I can see that as working. Honestly Maps are underrated to begin with, and being able to pull a specific item you might want or need when you have all perks unlocked for such would be really nice... mainly since I can use Maps a bit more often.

I also feel like Nick would have a perk oriented around stunning or blinding the Killer, something relating to their role as an actor and blowing the stage away with their acting or something. Kind of like how Yun-Jin has perks focused around her music career with Smash Hit.

less pressure by the killer, do not need 2+ players to try and unhook a survivor

Yes but at the same time if it were the optimal play for Killer to facecamp literally every match as soon as they hook someone the game would literally be dead, the game would be beyond boring.

Killers do not want to sit in front of the hooks unless they are forced to, and clearly the game isnt forcing them to because there are other methods of gaining pressure (e.g. tunneling) that are more engaging for the Killer (and Survivors).

Also I am having to remind people that the system isnt even out yet, we should wait until the system is out to try it out ourselves.

I mean... yeah the stacks point is actually fair. Can be a good thing sometimes.

M1 normally really makes me wince in pain as Pig on some maps.

Getting hits with Pig to begin with can sometimes be tricky on certain maps. But to be fair, Pig is not really well designed, they are a "Jack of all Trades, Master of None" as some would say, if you want slowdown, stealth, and/or anti-loop there are just better and more reliable Killers.

  • Counterpoint: I like Save the Best for Last stacks.

Also Counterpoint: Just un-crouch and M1 normally, her anti-loop is awful to begin with.

  • "BHVR is finally making good changes, but since these changes do not specifically apply to me, Im going to go out of my way to make other people's day worse..." is definitely one hell of a way to react.

You can blame BHVR, it's a completely different thing to go out of your way to blame the players and take out your frustration on them. But you do you I guess, whatever makes you feel better. :/

  • Ive been having connection and rubberbanding issues despite having really good internet, for every other game, I have no issues, but with DBD I only have this issue.

Im guessing they maybe messed up the netcode over the past few updates but I really dont know.

  • Well, you can still camp, just you have to be smart about when and where you do so, in a hypothetical sense, you should still be able to force a Survivor into second-stage/death if they are close enough in progression because the anti-camp measures would take too long to prevent it. Also you can still camp in EGC.

Also I think the Generator needing gas could be a reference to the old mechanics BHVR was going to originally add, where you had to find parts or gas for Generators before you could start repairing them. Obviously it was canned/scrapped, but still interesting. Either way it's just something in the background, Im not sure why anyone would get upset over that of all things.

  • Since I am watching the pre-show, and not really much is happening, I mostly just spent time reading chat but damn Moderation is really not doing anything for YouTube, lots of anti-LBGT and racism (slurs included) and the only person Ive seen get actually banned was because they werent speaking English and were speaking Russian. Im sure since Twitch is more used, it probably has better Moderation, but damn.

  • What addons would you suggest for the Knight?

Personally, I typically use Cold Steel Manacles with Lightweight Grieves in conjunctions with Nemesis and Game Afoot to make most pallets really unsafe, even structures like shack can be easy to handled with the stacked movement speed...

But there is one slight issue, Lightweight Grieves, from my experience, can be hard to get my hands on, and Im also a bit concerned that focusing too much on speed might shaft my performance later down the line.

That’s a really nice answer and thank you for sharing that with me.

I guess it leads me to ask, how long does the world have to wait until we can go about our lives, including playing our video games, without having to know everyone’s sexuality? When does it end because I keep seeing things like: ‘it’s doesn’t stop here’, ‘we’ve only just begun’ etc etc and there’s a new gender or something to ‘fight’ for every week. It’s like bruh, I just want to play a horror game without having to know anything about the people I’m killing or being chased by lol. I hope that’s not too disrespectful to ask after such a nice response from you.

Well, I can understand where you are coming from, but it mainly hinges on society norms and acceptance as a whole.

The pride flags would not have existed if the LBGT+ community had been provided rights and not faced discrimination; and since we are still fighting for rights, like in Texas and Tennessee (which is where I live, I do not receive many health care benefits for being transfem, just to provide an example), as well as dealing with other misc. discrimination, I would not expect these flags or symbols to go away anytime soon.

Obviously, this isnt the answer you are hoping for. The best you can do at the moment is just ignore the charms or content altogether, realistically, a single charm or cosmetic does not really affect gameplay. In DBD, you can still hack and slash people as Killer without caring about who they are, or run away from a Killer without really caring as well. You can take more extreme route and remove those assets from the game files entirely or replace them in the game files, though be careful doing so since you can be banned by the anti-cheat.

  • @Mandy said:

Please remember that the charms are available during the Anniversary & Pride Celebrations - also patch notes clearly state that some charms are added, that does not mean all are included.

I hate to bother you, but do we have a specific date that these will be released on OR will they be revealed during the Anniversary Stream?

  • @Brandon48 said:

Genuine question. Why do you feel the need to broadcast your sexuality to everyone and anyone in a video game? Especially considering I’m sure lots of kids play this game as well.

Because even though it is a "sexuality" it does not inherently mean it's entirely "sexual".

A lot of the pride flags are a representation of who we love, who we want to be partners with, it's about being with someone you can say "I love you" to, someone you can hold hands with and hug. They are a symbol of self-fulfillment as well, showing that you have come to terms with who you are as a person.

To put it bluntly, it is about relationships and being proud of who you are. A lot of these groups have faced discrimination, including myself, dealing with years of abuse as a result, so I wear these flags with pride, to show that I overcame the odds and that I still have a voice.

  • Why is this in the Feedback and Suggestions section?

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Honestly if it wasnt for the Charms UI being terrible I'd support it completely. Improve the problem of Charms clutter and fix the inventory and I see less than no problems with it.

The UI in general is really bad, we have hundreds of perks but no efficient way of searching for them, Charms is even worse, since most are cluttered garbage that most people dont care about or arent worth using due to the limited amount of charm slots.

Ive seen people suggest Search Bars for years, and who knows, maybe we might get one, maybe we wont, Im hoping we at least get some information during the Anniversary Stream regarding UI and accessibility changes.

  • Honestly, not a fan of Eyrie of Crows past the rework. It feels worse to play on as Survivor and Killer. Ill still play on the map, just it's currently my least favorite.

  • Either BHVR gave you the wrong version of DBD OR this is one of those posts similar to Scott Jund's Patch 7.0.0 from awhile back.

Well, maybe the update is not for you then. Sometimes games just release updates like that, Warframe and DBD has done that a lot for me personally.

i'm master 63 buddy. you're the one happy a mechanic was removed cause it was too hard for you. you're the one embarassing yourself, not me. but come at me again for your inability to see a trap behind acid. the "exploit" was never 'restricting what can be used' thats creativity, you've gotten them mixed up. i also advocated to it's addition. some traps don't need to be shot and by moving it off the back by 3 rows and putting it behind 40 capacity worth of acid it was BLATANTLY apparent it was there.

on top of that you're one of those raiders who thinks that harvey works for them. he works for the outpost owner, the builder. we strap bombs to our guards, why would harvey be ANY different? piston got patched, i'm glad it was working inconsistently. but i'm still dead man switching the little rat, and thats 100% legal and not reportable, so spawn killing harvey, still a thing.

and yeah, i made a post making fun of people who cried about a liquid they could see and shoot through letting a trap do the same. pardon me for thinking that there should be a level of fairness to how players interact with their acid. you know, you can shoot it, it can shoot you, it's called equality. but people don't want challenges or equality, they want raider sided 0-1 death runs where they win every time.

probably why prestiege got changed, people were quitting bases that got ANY kills, and not giving accolades to ones that didn't. why? because raiders don't reward builders and they never will. sure YOU might give accolades, but your accolades do nothing to dent the synthite the builder spends to keep the map active, and then people rage quit the ones that can get those resources. so no, i don't care that those people hated the acid. i loved it, and anyone who couldn't handle it, "GET GOOD" we builders have to multi-layer walls so you raiders don't pull ammo through walls, or put guards in places you can't kite them out and abuse them. you always tell us "BUILD BETTER" well, GET GOOD.

cry about acid more, it makes me laugh that we're still talking about this after it's patched. thanks for caring so much to write me a paragraph, i care too so you can have this. have a great day in your nerfed game. i'm gonna keep doin me, kthx.

oh i missed this, ammo traps SHOULD be part of the game. it's called an economic decision, the concept that you give something up to get something else. you take a trap, lose a bolt, gain freedom in an area. it's up to you to decide which ammo traps offered are mandatory and which are ignorable. learn to identify what is and is not a threat to you, and if everything is, practice more.

There is a lot to unpack in this single post, so let me break this down. :D

Obligatory flexing rank as if it means something... when many games have taught us that skill is justified by how you express yourself within a game, being decisive but quick, aggressive but knowledge, etc, but not bound by the definition of a fictional number. Not saying that you arent skilled at the game, I think that you very well are, Im just saying that the ranking system is not really a good way of displaying it.

"Im unhappy because a mechanic was removed cause it was too hard for me," expect Im not, I literally said difficulty has nothing to do with it. My issue was with it's application, and I have stated that Im fine with it being in the game if it rewarded smarter trap placement, since Im getting tired of endless tunnels just spamming this exploit, it lacked creativity but everyone was doing it because it was easily abusable. The bases were not hard, it's just boring.

Also I felt as if from a long-term perspective, it was not healthy for the game, as we get more traps and more gear, it is possible for gear to become restricted heavily leaving less variety for raiders, and with new traps and augments being released, the killing potential for this exploit increases. Instead, I suggested that the developers keep this as a mechanic but introduce it as an augment, which will still have good application for it, but limit how much it can be used, to keep it's strength moderated.

Also frankly I dont care if people kill Harvey, I have no issue navigating maps myself, even if 30 minute maze maps are annoying, I personally have no issue with it, if youve seen any of my discussions before, or even met me in person, youd know that I am a very difficult person to piss off, I rarely get mad at games since it's childish to get upset over it. <3

"I always tell us "BUILD BETTER" well, GET GOOD," expect I never really have. I have been a huge supporter of those who build since Ive seen a lot of great and smart builds out there. Hell, when you could leave a base with no repercussions, I made a post saying how it was a step in the wrong direction. You can look at it for yourself. Besides this one point, I really dont know the entire point in the rest of this paragraph, this could be me being illiterate but I really just dont get it, my apologizes. :/

"Cry more about acid," except Im not. I think Corrosive Cubes have an amazing spot in the game, and I called that they would become a "meta" block/trap early on, and when all my friends mocked me, look at where we are now, it's one of the most used blocks in the game (from my experience). <3

"Write me a paragraph," right at it. I know people in the internet, especially in text, cannot tell what mood someone is, so they assume the worst, but frankly I enjoy conversations like this. You can jump to conclusions and make assumptions, but Im still having a grand ole' time since I get to discuss my thinking. Is a bit egocentric? Maybe, but Im on the Forums for a reason, to discussion and chat. :D

My main gripe with your original post was that you immediately jumped the gun to try and make fun of me instead of actually looking into my opinions or ideas.

Keep in mind, my original post was about the developers listening to the community as a whole, and relaying information for the community to read if they had not read it yet. I never included any opinions in the original post, but you still tried to make fun of me over an informative post, and you still continue to jump to conclusions and make fun of me without actually trying to put yourself in my perspective. :S

I can see where your frustration comes from in regards to the changes made to the game though, I personally think it is better for the long term for the game, Im sure things will improve for you as development for the game continues and maybe even when Sector 1 is released. <3

  • "Killing the Game"

THE UPDATE LITERALLY JUST CAME OUT...

Also from my own experience, sometimes you get DCed from matches because the game cannot sync your data with the servers, and Ive seen people have the same issue I am having. The game is still rather new so they are still ironing out issues.

There are ways to get close enough to break Incinerators with a melee? You act like it is an impossible task when even with Death Pistons blocking the path I have been able to work around it. And this is ignoring the fact that Im talking about an entire loadout, not just a single weapon.

Also "stop crying all the times and enjoy the game" but you ignore the other people complaining that an exploit got removed? Im guessing Im "crying" because I have a different opinion than yours or maybe present things differently?

yep, confirmed 100% fair, absolutely balanced. it used to be impossible to do bases like this because of 2nd wave corrosive exploits, thank god they fixed it, there was no way to beat bases like this before.

Wow, cool, using an awful example to try and make fun of my post yet you are ignoring a few things...

    1. This exploit can be used beyond just 1 tile of Corrosive Cubes... by using 2 tiles of CC; which can make it impossible to retrieve bolts without the Arc Barrier. This is objectively harmful for the game since it restricts you to using a specific loadout to deal with something that is not even intended by the developers... you have to think about things from the long term since it could have bad implications for future traps and restricting future variety... it had to go.
    2. There are many awful applications of this exploit, any many cases it is easy to deal with. Again, my issue has nothing to do with difficulty, so your argument of "you cant handle it despite it being easy" proves to be a strawman. My entire reason for disliking this exploit is it restricting what can be used, NOT the difficulty.
    3. I have gone on record to say that there are good applications for the SWCC Exploits, since it can make the Splatter augment work, I even made the suggestion to make it a mod but have a high capacity cost to reward smart placement and remove killbox spam. Check my Discussions to see it for yourself.

Before you talk about stuff using sarcasm and preconceived notions, do your research on who you are talking to, because you are outright embarrassing yourself.

  • @MadMoeZel said:

if people don't find brutal difficulty fun for it's own merits they shouldn't be there. i don't care if i get less raids or kills if it means yall don't whine. but now i have to deal with every dungeon having no creativity plasma spam boxes cause thats SOOOOO much better than the fun of hidden traps. so because it was too hard for all of you normies, the rest of us who enjoy challenge got shafted.

You do realize that the current rank system was heavily punishing base builders, right?

The ability to lose rank is why Brutal Bases did not get raided that much to begin with; and I often found it more profitable to make Normal Bases or Advance Bases because I got significantly more profits and significantly more raids.

Less people raiding. => Less profits. => Bases becomes harder to upkeep. => Less incentive to build.

The easiest way to solve this is by creating the least restrictive environment for players. People can now raid Brutal Bases without being punished significantly, giving time for people to actually learn and improve at the game as well, but leading to more raids. Brutal Base builders can get to work without worrying so much. It overall benefited the game.

My point is that the old rank system caused a lot of issues with the game. You got to look at things from a bigger picture.

Also if you want a challenge, the challenge is still there, want to beat a Brutal Base without dying? Nobody is stopping you, go ahead and try it. You can even self-enforce other challenges on yourself as well. That's the beauty of games, you can play it however you want.

  • If they are sitting right in front of a hook, nobody is stopping the Survivors from doing Generators.

The complaint isn't in regards to losing, the complaint is in regards to how fast gens are.

Gen regression was significantly nerfed while gen progression perks remain unchanged.

Also bold of you to assume this is my first bad game in a while

Generator speeds can be an issue sometimes, but I do not agree with the approach of the original post, since it does not provide enough sufficient information to really tell what you are trying to say.

Also I think it would be better to provide some constructive criticism instead of just posting a single screenshot.

SoloQ doesn't need it. If they can't coordinate and do their job when someone is being chased then they might as well just get hooked, sacrificed and move to the next game. Oh wait, it's not ok for them to move to the next game without having fun first, right?

Just because killer managed to tie a game because survivors either refused to escape or did absolutely stupid move does not mean that match was fair and balanced. I very much despise when people show those 3k or 4k screenshots of themselves being sacrificed and state that killer needs to be nerfed or toned down when it's very likely they were just goofing around and got punished in the end. Way to create an impression that killers are dominating the game.

Do you really think killer players enjoy stomping people at 5 gen? There's no fun in that for any side. Now is it fun if killer ends with 0 hooks at the end of the game? I can bet for sure it is fun - for survivor players. For killer? Highly unlikely.

I started playing survivor recently and despite being new and relatively bad I can say for sure that it's 0 stress environment for me. The best thing that there's no need to escape, I can still have plenty of fun doing different survivor stuff. Oh and before you ask - Hud doesn't help me at all. At the very least it motivates other SoloQ players to gen rush asap the moment the killer is away. Something efficient survivors already do.

BHBR looks at numbers and still does follow them. Even after the recent survivor riot they still follow numbers, ignoring the fact that survivors can manipulate those in numerous ways simply because there's more of them than killers.

Damn this post is just filled with so much "Us VS Them" among bold assumptions that hold no merit... guess Ill break these down... it will be long though.

    • "SoloQ doesnt need it, if they cant coordinate and do their job when someone is being chased they might as well just get hooked, sacrificed and move onto the next game. Oh wait, it's not ok for them to move to the next game without having fun first, right?"

First off, how do you expect people to "coordinate and do their job" when they literally have no information coming from their teammates. Imagine a game where you have to communicate people specific things, but you have no way of communicating. This issue is further made worse when you cannot inherently control who you are paired with; thus not having someone you can consistent rely on.

    • "Just because a Killer managed to tie a game because Survivors either refused to escape or made an absolutely stupid move does not mean that match was fair and balanced."

Likewise, imagine how many matches that Killers have made stupid decisions and plays but still managed to get a win. But Im guessing the Survivors are bad then? Or pull some other excuse? Because things only apply one way but never the other?

People are human, and humans make mistakes, the thing that sets Survivor and Killer apart is that you can notice your mistakes as Killer since you entirely depend on yourself. Ive seen a single Survivor throw the match for their entire team over a single mistake, Ive seen the same with Killer as well, the impact as Killer sticks with my more because I internalize those mistakes, despite the impact in reality being the same most of the time. Your point is meaningless.

    • "I very much despise when people show those 3k or 4k screenshots of themselves being sacrificed, and state that killer needs to be nerfed or toned down, when it's very likely they were just goofing around and got punished in the end. Way to create an impression that killers are dominating the game."

And hey, the pot meets kettle. You do a similar thing in the next section, woah.

    • "I started playing survivor recently, and despite being new and relatively bad, I can say for sure that it's 0 stress environment for me. The best thing that there's no need to escape, I can still have plenty of fun doing different survivor stuff. Oh and before you ask - the HUD doesn't help me at all. At the very least it motivates other SoloQ players to gen rush asap the moment the killer is away. Something efficient survivors already do."

Wow, there is a lot to unpack in this one section:

    1. Survivors is less stressful because by design they have something that relieves tension. The Killer, as a role, is engaging in constant chases and interactions with players, which results in a far more engaging experience; Survivor, as a role, has less interaction, since the game is designed for Survivors to be left alone for at least some period of time, to break tension, similar to that of a horror movie/game breaking tension. Killer has all their responsibility rely on them; while Survivors are a house of cards, if one falls, the rest tumbles. The game is designed this way intentionally for a reason, the more engaging role has more micromanagement to balance it out, otherwise Killer becomes inherently a more "desired" role which skews queues; if you dont have this, you get a Death Garden situation, it's an unfortunate but necessary evil for the game.
    2. Saying the HUD does not help you is factually wrong, even if it does not directly help you, it indirectly affects your matches and makes the experience for you better; or to put it better: if your team is doing Generators as a result of the HUD, it may not affect your actions, but it affects your teams actions, which affects the outcome of the match, which affects how it is played thus affecting your experience and gameplay. The main reason for SoloQ getting this update was because the experience and gameplay as miserable for most players, which as I mentioned, the HUD directly affects for you... so yeah...
    3. Also the "I dont need it therefore other people do not need" argument is really weak in general. Look under many posts and youll see people saying "I dont run regression perks, therefore other people do not need to" and people will call them out on their BS. Your experience is not always reflective of every single person's experience, nor is it always reflective of the game as a whole, and if you think it is, you are either projecting or ignoring nuance.

I personally lean towards the idea that the game is not sided towards a particular side since there is too much going on to particular determine anything meaningful.

Anyways, Im going to leave this here for the time being, it's 1:58 AM (technically longer because damn there are a lot of typos I had to fix), Im tired as hell. Rather you choose to leave this here or drag it on is up to you, I personally wont continue with you past this if both sides just show that we are too stubborn to change our perspective (not opinions, just perspective).

Cut this bs please. Why don't survivors play efficiently without icon hud and basekit perks? Apparently it's ok to give them these tools but if killer does struggle in any way then it doesn't matter. 4 people had fun. 1 might as well endure and move to the next game.

"Why dont Survivors play efficiently without icon HUD and basekit perks?"

Because SoloQ needs it. Also the team they faced has a 3-man SWF, so why does it matter or not in this situation? They would have had that information regardless of such, you are basically complaining about such a non-factor to begin with.

Also, the Killer tied. I seriously hate how people just brush over it, you dont have to 3K or 4K every match, I think it's perfectly fine to lose or tie. I also think it's accept to not escape every match as well. People just need to accept that you sometimes dont get the outcome you are hoping for.

I really am just tired of people posting on the forums one bad match they had while saying "gotcha, my point is right" but ignoring all the other matches they had, it feels like (and sometimes is) cherrypicking, or at the very least negativity bias.

And I have said this many times, but if you feel the game is favoring a single side, then play that side, put your money where your mouth is. BHVR sees statistics, they can see people playing Survivor and Killer, if you want change, force the hand by affecting their statistics.

Right now, the system is punishing people for playing the game. Like literally.

I get negative points if i die on a raid AND i get negative points if i keep my bases online and the don´t get enough kills per raid attempt. Thats not motivating me to play at all.

That was the main point of my original post. The changes they are making to leaving outposts is overall negative (for builders and) for the game since the systems surrounding it are also poorly designed.

The rank system overall needs an overhaul, it causes far more issues than anything else.

  • @Tsulan said:

    Or... and hear me out...

    They could just remove ranks.

I think the ranking system is a good concept when done right.

The idea is rewarding people for playing the game, it gives them a reason to log on and play matches.

There is a bit of FOMO to it unfortunately, but it's all completely free and leads to cosmetic rewards (that have no impact on gameplay).

One of the most overrated events imo, it always felt like a copy and paste of the Howling Grounds event which i enjoyed way more.

Definitely overrated, but I really loved the way the Generators and Hooks looked.

  • "I get value from some of them (obviously, not all of them)" was put for a reason.

Black Grease, Big Buckle, and Pighouse Gloves are not really that good, especially when Big Buckle and Pighouse Gloves got indirectly nerfed after basekit Billy changes.

    @Marc_go_solo said:

The Pig House Gloves need a rework, because there's really very little chance it can be used because of the overheat. The chainsaw overheats even less now than before, so that needs a major change, or at least make it a brown add-on, because it barely will find use.

Leafy Mash is decent, as you say! I had a match on Gideon Meat Plant and my randomiser gave me this add-on with Trail of Torment. Combined, these undetectable abilities were the absolute star of the trial. So much use out of both, which resulted in a nice 3k and 11 hooks.

Also, I fully agree with the heavy clutch. That 30% reduction is very noticeable whilst weaving around maps, especially like Lery's. It is a literal "clutch" item to have.

    This ^

  • @Xernoton said:

Try to get any value out of Mother's Helpers, Leafy Mash, Big Buckle, Pig House Gloves, Tuned Carburettor, Apax Muffler, Iri Brick, Black Grease, Steel Toe Boots and Dad's Boots (without Spiked Boots) in a match you're not already winning.

These are all addons that do something that could be good in theory but require you to actively play around them or be lucky. It's mostly worse than running no addons at all and playing normally.

Billy's addons aren't good. He has some that are universally good (like 5-6) and everything else is too unreliable without specific builds and map offerings.

I do, I get a lot of value from some of those addons (obviously, not all of them), a few week ago I got a 42 winstreak using Apex Muffler and Leafy Mash; Billy definitely has bad addons, but not as many as people think.

I think people are not wiling to experiment, especially since (as a Billy main) it can be hard to let go of what you are use to, I know that since I use to be like that. One of the reasons why I even got the formerly mentioned winstreak is because I wanted to really test and question my original ideals, and guess what, my opinions changed, because I gave things a chance.

I think the overall notion that "it isnt meta therefore it's not good" is just overall a negative mindset to have. There is always going to be a meta, but just because something isnt meta does not deprive it of its value. This, of course, goes beyond just Billy.

  • You can still locker save/blind with Flashbang because the changes made were only affecting Flashlights.

Not sure if this information helps any though.

  • Claustrophobia is not really too good of a perk, but you can sometimes get value from it (rarely though).

I personally think the only times Ive gotten it to shine, outside of just pure luck, is using Bitter Murmur and Hex: No One Escapes Death to punish people who try to finish the final generator with me close by.

Since it does block windows, it can be used with Killers who are generally weak against windows (such as Billy and Bubba) or just Killers who have poor chase potential.

Besides what I listed, it does not have good synergy with most things, and getting value is mostly just luck than anything else.

  • Ive been having an absolute blast playing Killer.

I do enjoy Survivor, just not as much as I did a year or so ago.

Id say my main issue is that SBMM has just really made my options feel limited, it feels like Im forced to play optimally as Survivor to have any fun, and a single mistake can cost me the game, which has made it much more stressful. Meanwhile, for Killer, since I have some agency in what happens, it feels a lot more relaxing, I can just have fun without worrying.

yeah I think OP is a console killer who got bodied and didnt learn from his mistakes.

When I played on Console, I rarely got spun, it was just a matter of being patient and calm so you dont fumble the bag.

You could argue "auto aim screws people over a lot", but like, that's just auto aim being auto aim, being on Console does not change that, like when is auto aim not terrible?

Well I support that vision but I don't think we're gonna change the nature of internet forums. I"ll be rooting for you!

The least I can do is just led people down a positive direction, of course I cannot actually control people (nor would I want to), but promoting a positive environment for those around is one step towards making this community a better place for everyone.

  • @birdnippies said:

Um, the entire forums are "question the community". People literally ask questions and want community feed back here all the time. Don't act like you created some series. You just decided to ask a question and thought you might ask more in the future. It's a lot like my series I started/invented/founded called "Sometimes I ask my pharmacist about medications"

Im not re-inventing the wheel, moreso that I want to organize my posts a bit.

A lot of the discussions I make can make it harder for me to dig through and find serious topics/posts, so having some way of separating them helps.

Also a lot of posts you see, people are really negative and critical of other's opinions, I want an area where people can express themselves without worrying about condescending responses.
