No. That's gross. We don't need an old lady...

I think it'll be fine.

have a better idea?
Take a look at, @Labrac's post in this thread. Some of his ideas are pretty good without making the game super boring (taking forever to repair gens).
-
Awful ideas.

Not surprised to see all the whining in this thread now that DS is more fair to go against. Kinda sad. He got the changes he needed. He'll be fine. :)

Don't worry, people can drop chase with me on the swamp map by just crouching in the tall grass. My eyes are THAT bad. Luckily most survivors assume I can see and don't try it, but when they (usually Claudette) find out my dark secret... I have no chance.
Same here. I accidentally broke my glasses a few months ago (need to get another pair) and I've been having a hard time keeping track of survivors. I hate the corn maps and the swamp, lmao.

I understand a killer that tunnels me or anyone with 0 deaths and at endgame, but since the 1st second of the game tunnel anyone is just frustrating, many killers have got decent 4k without tunneling and camping, I can't understand why someone enters the game with the need to ruin someone's day.
This is the problem I have with tunneling and camping... Killers will do it from the very start of the game. I wouldn't mind this strategy if it rarely happened but it's in almost all of my games. It's not ok to prevent a player from playing the game and it needs some changes.
-
I'll probably play her more after the nerf. She's just too boring to play right now (not to mention a lot of survivors will just DC against her).

So.... don't try to win at high mmr? The amount of people complaining about high mmr is ridiculous. Just take a loss and be happy about decreasing your mmr.
Not gonna happen. They'll keep sweating their asses off for those kills, then complain when they keep getting paired with sweaty survivors, lol.
-
It's probably because all of the toxic killers that love to tunnel, face camp, and slug survivors until they bleed out.

But I’ve been reliably informed that it’s impossible to get any kills at high MMR without four slowdown perks, so you can’t be at high MMR and are therefore low MMR and you just need to git gud or something.
I was told yesterday that my MMR must be zero and I'm playing against bots because I can usually do well with Legion and Pig, lmao. I really don't understand some people on here.

This Spirit nerf isn't good.
How do you know this? No one has played with these changes yet. She needed a nerf and this will make her more enjoyable to go against. She'll still be a strong killer as well. It's a good thing for both sides.

Clearly your MMR is none or you are playing vs bots... both are the worst killers right now.
With decent survivors -with 2k 3k hours- you can't do anything.
Sure, lol. I go against sweat survivors like everyone else. Yes, you can do something. Am I going to win against tournament players when I'm playing as Legion or Pig? Probably not. Those players are extremely rare and we shouldn't balance the game around them. Killers aren't as helpless as you're saying, lol. The game is pretty balanced right now.
-
Spirit now has counterplay, the horror! She got what she deserved. I don't care if I never see a Spirit again. 🙂

No they are NOT against COMPTENT survivors. You can keep telling yourself this over and over, it still won't make it true. If you truly believe this you most likely don't play much killer. Only 3 killers on the killer roster are even decent enough to have a chance. Even then, the killer is still at a disadvantage and will need to play very well. The survivors on the other hand, they have 3 hook states, and a ton of second chance mechanics that will help them still be able to win, even if they make mistakes.
Don't agree. I play both equally. I main Legion and Pig.

It is not about always wanting to 4k. It is about having a chance to do well. What do you not understand about that? It's about having more fair and balanced matches that can swing either way, and not trials where 3 gens pop by your first down so you now need to sweat and camp and tunnel to have a chance.
Pretty much every killer can be good if you know how to play them.
-
THANK YOU DEVS!!! Finally! I've been waiting on this for so long. Spirit was BS and I'm glad they gave her a great change.

People just want to be able to compete against good survivor players as a good killer player. Only 3 killers in the game even have a possible chance to have a decent outcome against 4 optimal survivors. The rest are a joke in competent skill level play. Also, "killers just want to 4k every game without trying" is a lame strawman argument that bias survivor mains keep using because they love how unbalanced the game is because they benefit from it.
T he game feels pretty balanced to me. Play whatever killer you want and don't worry about getting them 4Ks every game. I still stand by what I said.
-
@Sluzzy said:
You aren't supposed to 4K every match.
If you think killer is miserable, try playing survivor with Ruin and Tinkerer every match.
Killers are only happy if they have an overwhelming presence in the match, one in which survivor has practically no way to win. Survivors need more ways to escape because finishing 5 gens is generally impossible.
I don't agree with everything in this post, but I do agree with some of it. A lot of killers seem to think getting a 3K or 4k every game without having to try is balanced. I guess the want easy kills without having to work hard for it.

@getuy45u4iu said:
Yes, DH needs a nerf because it’s too strong, giving iframes, unlike other exhaustion perks, and giving distance before hit, so killer can’t do anything if DH is timed properly. Also extremely frustrating, why do survivors fix their mistakes so easily when one killer’s mistake can cost them the entire match? DH takes skill, but less than other exhaustion perks, where you should plan ahead and save it. Survivors would do just fine if DH just got removed from the game.
Also I don’t understand why you ask the killer to show his perks? Looks like same whataboutism, that some people don’t like when someone brings up survivor perks in a NOED thread. And I don’t think anyone is going to be ashamed of running DH. People running it are probably so used to it they won’t feel comfortable with any other exhaustion perk.
"Also I don't understand why you ask killer to show his perks"- It's pretty obvious why people wanna know what perks they were using... I find it kinda funny that the OP won't say, haha. I'm guessing they were using META perks as well. 😂

Some killer players have the mentality that a 4k = balanced game for some reason. If survivors try to win as well then the game is unbalanced. Just look how the other day we had a post here suggesting survivors should start playing perkless, or how we were sitting at an almost 70% kill rate on the last stats and people still cry "omg killer is so hard".
Yep, well said. It really does seem like a lot of killers feel like getting a 4K every game is balanced. I really don't understand these people. I consider a 2K a good game. 🤷

Of course survivor is gonna be a little easier. As killer you're against 4 other players.. It's meant to be the tougher role. That will never change.

She can´t hear grunts of pain when you use IW. Which is currently one of the most used perks anyway.
As i said, its a fair situation. Because both sides won´t see each other.
I know how IW works. It's still not fair at all. Not everyone uses IW and it shouldn't be needed to play against her.

What information does she have?
When phasing:
- She can't see the survivor.
- She can't see the scratch marks.
- She can't see the blood stains.
- She can't hear the IW survivor.
So what is exactly the information she gets? Spirit facing IW survivors is a tie. Both sides get the exact same amount of information about the other side. It's the most balanced thing I can think about.
Spirit can hear grunts of pain, hear footsteps, see grass moving, etc. IW should not be needed to have a chance at winning. Survivors don't have any clue if she's phasing or faking it... She's also invisible when she's phasing. She definitely needs some tweaks. It's not fair at all.

I get it. He looked fun, but one match on Lery's with him and I was over him pretty hard.
I'm certainly not a great Pinhead player, but I think he can be pretty good. I wouldn't mind him receiving some small buffs, though.
-
45 minutes? Something isn't right. I usually find games pretty quick. Maybe take a short break and try playing again.

Spirit has to be one of the killers i enjoy going against. Shes no push over and the better player always wins. Saying she has "too much information and the survivors have little to none" is a false statement. She stands still when she phases, can't see blood, with the IW buff she got nerfed a bit, she's 110%, and she can't see the survivor. In a chase the survivor has the advantage if you try and loop spirit like a average M1 killer then its your fault for messing up. Do things to mind game dont just expect to run in a straight line and get away lol.
Feel free to quote me next time. It's absolutely not a false statement. She can't see blood, but she can see scratch marks, hear grunts of pain, footsteps, moving grass, etc. She does have wayyy too much information and the survivors have too little. She needs some changes.

Line of sight breakers are extremely strong with IW. Especially since walking survivors don't leave scratch marks.
Spirit is kinda easy to beat. Don't try to "mindgame" her at a pallet. When she stops moving, you run and vault.
Don't forget that she can't see you when she phases. No scratch marks, no blood and since Stridor was nerfed also no sound clues.
"Kinda easy to beat"- Yeah, I'd like to see you beat a good Spirit player as a solo survivor. Even SWF groups have trouble playing against her. She has way too much information and the survivors have little to none. She is unbalanced and almost everyone can see it.
Edit- I have no problems with IW when I play as killer. Survivors are very easy to track down even with that perk. The only way I might lose the survivor is if they equip Lucky Break and IW together.

Game is too fast. It's not they take skill away, it's survivor mains with their infinite looping force killer mains to ask for changes and more anti-loop mechanics. Cause lets take a basic M1 killer like Clown, or Legion or Billy, etc. Against decent survivor u will loose a game if u don't catch them in 20-30 sec, while survivor just pre drop every single pallet and either loop or hold W to next one. And if they have DS DH it's even more painful.
So who needs more skill in this situation? Survivor pre drop every pallet no matter the result and pressing DH when he made a mistake or killer that is forced to catch as soon as possible.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2506965#Comment_2506965
Try to make 12 Hook play against decent survivor. Majority killers struggle with it, so they have to tunnel weakling and force strong players to come save it.
I don't need 12 hooks or a 4K every game. I play for fun. Still doesn't change what I said.

She is as (un)balanced as Iron Will.
But somehow people think one is fine and the other one is toxic.
Iron Will is fine. You can still see scratch marks, blood, and hear foot steps (you can still see survivors with your eyes as well)... When Spirit starts phasing you have almost no information on what she's doing. IW is fine and Spirit is straight up broken.
-
Sounds like you need a break. That is very unhealthy. I personally think he is a decent killer. Takes a bit of time to learn how to play him, though. I recommend watching some vids and see how others play him.

The problem with W-meta is not that its strong, but rather that eliminates skill. A rank 20 Meghead can hold W just as good as a 7K hours Legacy Nea.
And? Almost every killer I go against will camp and tunnel. Both are boring and take no skill. I don't think their gonna nerf any of those things. We just have to deal with it.

You dont like spirits, because you cant bully her.
I really dislike comments like this. No, people hate her because of how unbalanced she is. Most people that play both sides can see this. I don't want her gutted, but I do want to play against her without wanting to just DC because of how miserable she is to play against. She has almost no counterplay when you're going against a good Spirit player. It's not about wanting to bully her.

I was a big supporter of MMR. I enjoyed test number 3 but this version which should be the same is just garbage. I wish I had listened to @Pulsar and @BrokenSouI they both tried to warn me. Killer is a complete snorefest (pallet drop, hold W) and has made killer a pallet kicking simulator for most killers.
I have been playing mostly Survivor I'm not saying that is fun all the time but way better than killer I have equipped Q&Q, Head on to have some fun. Outside of that this game will die for me.
This happened even before the new MMR... I've seen a lot of threads about it. Nothing has really changed much in the games I play. Killers tunnel, camp and slug while survivors try to quickly do gens.

There are some things you can do actually, Also the twins perks aren't garbage, it's the survivor perks that make them weak.
If DS, DH, BT, UNB etc. weren't the only perks strong enough to be worth taking then it would be different stories. Killer doesn't have much to counter that build, unless you're the specific Nurse or something
Don't tunnel and camp or slug someone for too long. You just learned how to counter 3 of their perks... You're welcome:)

If a survivor doesn't want healed, then I'll leave them... usually they'll go down a few seconds later, though. :)

Na. All you need is 4 very solid survivors and it's the power role. Hell. There's a lot of the times I SWF and we don't even COM and do just fine. It comes down to looping ability mostly. Communication and effeciency is sort of secondary.
I don't agree. Lack of communication is a big deal and gives the killer the upper hand. If the killer loses against solos it's usually the killers fault.
