Can we get some paragraphs in there?
Survivors are to blame for not punishing camping imo. They reward it and people will keep playing that way.
Also camping/tunneling is sometimes neccessary and it's not done to provoke others or something like that. I know it can be frustrating tho.
Survivors should punish this kind of playstyle, but it's still terrible for the person on the hook. They just had their game ruined and nothing they can do about it. Most killers that facecamp probably don't care about escapes or points. They do it to ruin the game.

Imagine thinking survivors arnt in the power role 🤔
I'd say killer is the power role unless you're playing SWF.

I hope you find a game that you enjoy. Yep! The game is full of toxic people on both sides.

Okay, I've played some matches (about 10-15 games) after I got done with the rdr2 gamepass and the new patch with the new killer.
I have to say, the game runs way smoother for me then before the Pinhead patch. I get way less stutters at this moment. The occasional Bloodlust or Sloppy lag, but not the stutters out of nowhere when nothing is happening.
I have to say, taking a break from this game to wait for this patch, was worth it. I really, really hope they can keep this up. The game is more enjoyable for me now on console. So for once I want to give a positive note haha, I sincerely hope the devs can make the game run better from now on since they performance increased for me on the ps4.
Agreed! The game runs sooo much better now! Definitely more enjoyable. I also play on an original Xbox One, haha.

Hoarder? Fun build? No thanks.

If killers get more than enough bp then why do most people agree the grind is awful?
The grind is pretty bad if we're talking about unlocking perks on new killers. That can be solved without giving killers more BP, though. They already get a lot, especially if you throw on BBQ.

More than enough? Don't forget that most killers need a steady supply of add-ons to be bearable. Even if you don't use add-ons they have less bp add-ons than survivors.
I don't use addons on killer. I'll usually throw on BBQ for even more BP. I feel like killers get enough. As survivor you barely get anything.
-
Killers get more than enough. Survivors are really the ones that need more BP in my opinion.
-
I suck playing as Pinhead, but I think he could be a decent killer if you really take the time to learn how to play him. He is not the worst killer in the game.

People shouldn't have to change how they play so they can have an enjoyable experience. If you are good and win a lot, that isn't a bad thing. It isn't the player's fault that when people are good at survivor that it breaks the little game balance DBD has. Or when they are a good solo they just face Blights with Undying Ruin Tinkerer.
If you sweat then expect to get sweaty players in return. It's silly to complain.
-

You are literally saying "Just stop being good, so you get worse players."
I'm saying stop sweating as much if you don't want super sweaty games. switch up your perks, play different killers, just play to have fun. That doesn't mean you have to play bad, lol. If you want to keep playing super sweaty, then go for it. Just don't complain about playing against other sweaty players.
-
@Pulsar said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2490489#Comment_2490489
Because it isn't fun to play DBD without intentionally throwing the match.
Does that not seem like a massive problem?
Not really, no. If you sweat, then I expect you to be paired with others that do the same. Don't sweat as much if you're not having fun. I don't intentionally throw the match, but I don't sweat for the 4K either. I'll also usually give the hatch to the last player as well.
-
You got 3-4 kills each game because you were mostly going against potatoes. Now you're going against decent survivors. Ranks don't really mean anything anymore. Give it time and you should eventually get fair games.
-
@Pulsar said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2489119#Comment_2489119
Why would I purposefully throw matches. I think that's against the rules.
Then I don't understand why you keep complaining...
-
It sucks, but I understand why they do it. It's the camping and tunneling from the very start of the game that annoys me.
-
@Pulsar said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2488917#Comment_2488917
It won't go down because I keep winning.
The matches have been frustrating, infuriating and downright miserable, but I've still won.
Except on Blight, the one game I actually managed to play with him.
Then try not sweating as much if you aren't having fun? I'm not sure what else to tell you. Sounds like you are getting survivors of similar skill and that is what the system was designed for.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Well, if you want to win, yes, but if you want to have fun then you can keep playing the killers you want to and your mmr will adjust.
This. I still play Legion, Pig and now Pinhead. I don't care if I get a 4K every game... I play for fun. Play whatever killer you want.
-
@Pulsar said:
Awful. The least enjoyable experience I've ever had in a video game and I've played Overwatch recently.
Idk... I have really been enjoying it on both sides. Are my games harder? Absolutely! It feels much more rewarding when I win. Winning (before the new MM system) because I kept going against potatoes wasn't fun to me. I'm sure your rating will go down if you're having trouble. Just hang on :)
-
@Tsulan said:
Sbmm is a good thing. Because it finally shows to everyone how unbalanced the game is.
Kill rates are dropping significantly. Now we only need to wait until the devs notice and do something about it.
How do you know kill rates are dropping significantly? Source? Games have felt very balanced to me. Killers are not meant to 4K every game. You win some, you lose some.
-
Games seem WAY more balanced. I don't know why anyone would complain... unless they just enjoy going against potatoes instead of someone of similar skill.
-
That's great. I've been having a lot of fun as a solo survivor and have escaped much more since the update. I no longer have to carry my teammates every game, lol.
-
Did they fix some performance issues in the last patch? Played again on my Xbox One and it was actually very smooth most of the time (just a few hiccups every now and then). I haven't looked at the patch notes yet.
-
Whenever a killer makes a post about tunneling and camping a survivor it's always- 'Good job that survivor deserved it!'. When a survivor does it- 'How dare you be sooo toxic!'
-
@miketheratguy said:
Please just don't let this be because a bunch of immature people kept laughing at the line. Those who are familiar with Hellraiser understand the significance and how cool the line actually is.
I wouldn't call it immature. People find different thing funny. I don't really think that removing the voice line is a big deal. I'm not really a fan of the movies, though.

Had the rift challenge to blind or pallet stun the killer 4 times.
Played against a Wraith. Pallet stunned him 3 times, flashlight blinded him 5 or 6 times. 2 lightburns until he ignored me for the rest of the match. (Didn't flashlight click.)
After the match (3 man escape) he said that I triggered him pretty hard. Explained the rift challenge and after saying sorry, we wished each other a nice evening.
Both killers and survivors have to remember that there is a human being on the other side of the screen.
Not sure exactly what your point is. I do agree that people seem to forget that there are people on the other side of the screen, though.

Haven´t seen this either. Unless, the survivor teabagged non stop before that.
Please tell me, people don´t point this behavior out, after triggering the killer intentionally?
I don't do anything to the killer, but I usually get bm from them. Pallet stun? bm. Flashlight blind/save? bm. Looping them for a bit? bm. Just for playing survivor? bm. I get way more toxic killers.
-

Can we please tone down with the Wraith hate posts? We get it, y’all hate Wraith because he’s actually good now.
No. People hate him because some of his addons are problematic. They make him wayyy too annoying to deal with and it needs looked into.
-
I think you need a break. I had survivors t-bag me yesterday. You know what I did? Ignored them and continued to play the game. I can't really understand why this bothers people so much that they have to come to the forums and create a whole thread about it.

It obviously isn't coming soon, maybe not at all, I'd just like some confirmation.
I really don't think DBD on console (old gen) will ever reach 60 FPS. I think the best we can hope for is a solid 30 FPS. Maybe I'll be proved wrong 🤷♂️

Yeap. Let's pretend it's from me stomping bad players. Or that I'm a bad killer 🤣
Instead of highlighting just how unbalanced this game is. Too unbalanced to make every single match a sweat fest 5 minute match. Rather you slug them all out. Or 4 man escape with 4 hooks.
I know one thing. High level MMR is going to lead to one thing. And one thing only. Camping hook and tunneling. And not even really playing the maps and spreading out hooks like survivors want you to do
Camping and tunneling is in almost every game I play. That will be nothing new. I never said you were a bad player.
-
I switched to PC, but I still play on Xbox from time to time. They are working on fixing it.

Maybe so, but those matches were far more enjoyable than ANY of the ones I've had during SBMM.
The Devs are well aware of the issues with high MMR. They simply don't care and have said as much. They absolutely will not fix it and if a miracle does happen, it'll take 2 years to do anything about it.
I'm 95% sure I'm done with Killer.
Survivor was great tho. I handily won most of my matches.
It might've been fun for you, but what about the survivors? Maybe they will fix it if it's needed. They'll have more info to go on. You never know :)

If that's correct, then that shows that the game isn't balanced, and you were only winning your other matches because you were paired up against players of lesser skill. How is any of that fair, for you or your opponents?
SBMM will either work, or it with highlight those imbalances for the devs to fix. Either way that's a win.
Just think. All of your wins so far, in your entire time playing this game, have not been about skill, they've been about terrible matchmaking putting you against potatoes.
The SBMM tests have been the most balanced killer games I've ever had. I could tangibly feel the balance, that fine line between sweating against seal team teabag, and wrecking potato survivors, and they were some of the most rewarding games I've ever had, with some very clutch moments, and some awesome and earned victories.
These are pretty much my thoughts as well. Great post. I'm sure the devs will look into balancing the game more if it's needed.

Will I not be ? Because my SBMMR put me up against nothing but sweaty SWFS with thousands of hours. Who proceeded to end the matchs in roughly 4-5 minutes. How is that exactly fun kr balanced ?
You have a high SBMMR because you stomped a bunch of bad players... you will now be matched with survivors that are at your skill level. You are not meant to 4K every single game. The game wouldn't be balanced. If you're not skilled enough to take on those survivors, then your rating will go down. I see no problems. You are now gonna win some and lose some.

Time to drop this game then, I'm not ready to face blight nurse and spirit with the same build that camp and tunnel

Why? Both sides will have more fair games. Just curious why you are thinking about quitting killer.

Not everyone will have those perks (except small game).

To get a 4k with noed in the endgame, I am 100% sure your team made a mistake at the end as for that to happen the following must have failed
-Breaking 5 totems
-Noting that the killer has NOED and splitting up
-being too altruistic
If you destroyed the killer like you said, then that means you guys 100% had time to go totem busting
I've had games where we did great, but died because I couldn't find that last totem. It's not so easy in solo and on indoor maps. I do agree the killer shouldn't have got a 4K, though.
-
NOED is cheap, but we just gotta deal with it. Maybr we'll get some changes in the future.

No. Her hatchets don't go straight. They have an arc. So you still have to aim a little higher and know the distances/arcs
Also...There's plenty of programs that give you a cross hair. And some monitors come with one. So who would even use the add on slot ?
Yep. I got a new monitor because I got a gaming PC a couple of months ago and it has a button that adds a crosshair. I accidentally found it when I tried to turn the sound up, lol. I haven't used it once, though. Seems kinda unfair.

Killer role has been taken far too seriously. 4K is considered a "win". When the game really should strive for a 2 and 2 balance. Meaning that it should be difficult to pull a 4K but, with the meta makes it possible to 4k consistently and, Youtube taught them, that's a win.
Well said. Agreed!

Each one of these perks can be played around by the killer while he still progresses the objective. Most of them are countered by simply going after another survivor.
Going totem hunting does nothing to progress the objective as Aven_Fallen pointed out, if the killer doesn't have NOED you essentially just wasted time, and against some strong killers like Spirit or Blight, doing dulls can be the death of your team.
Agreed. It just isn't possible to find and cleanse all totems sometimes... it will most likely get you killed against a decent killer. It's obviously a good idea to do totems if possible, tho.

Then you've spent time to down someone and no hook for it, then you have to chase someone else who's probably healthy, and the guy on the ground gets healed back to full. You can't win.
You are still applying pressure by slugging. You have 3 survivors not working on gens- The slugged guy, the guy getting chased, and the survivor that will need to help the guy thats down. That's actually a lot of pressure on the survivors.

For an analogy, say you want your car fixed. You take it to the shop, and they say "Sure, we can fix this. We'll call you when it's done."
It has now been two and a half years, you've given them your money, and they still haven't fixed your car.
We understand that it takes time, but two things have become abundantly clear.
One, they were almost certainly not working on Console Optimization in March of 2019.
Two, this fix will take time that many players are not going to be willing to give them.
Didn't Plague release in March of 2019? I remember they heavily downgraded console graphics when they released her and it seems like a lot of people said the game was a lot smoother at that time. I could be completely wrong, though.

But you have to most times, and other times it's accidental or literally not tunneling because you just hooked someone else.
You don't have to. I rarely tunnel and I play Legion and Pig. If you accidentally find someone again, then you can slug them.
-
@Markness said:
Yes, it is complete horse crap. There is no killer equivalent that acts as a 'get out of jail for free' card. You have NOED but it can be countered with bones. There is no counter to DS, and at high ranks when you're playing a sweat group you need to remove people quickly and not play as a 'Killvivor' a.k.a. a streamer killer. Survivors can hook bomb you and get a BT hook save and then DS you if you try to take them out during EGC. There is no counter to that unless they don't cleanse NOED.
No counter? Don't tunnel. Simple.

No one said it's easy. But it was released on console in a bad state. It shouldn't have been sold at all. They pushed it out instead of optimizing it and making sure it performed well, and years later not only have they still not done it but it's gotten worse.
The state it's been in on Switch from day one is abysmal and they should be embarrassed that they charged money for it.
The last couple of patches seemed to fix a lot of FPS issues I was having. It doesn't feeze as much as it did. They are working on it. It's just taking a while. I'm sure they want it fixed just as much as you guys do.
