There's more proof that they were ignoring it than that they were working on it.
Things went radio silent for over a year.
Just because they didn't say much doesn't mean they were ignoring you guys. I'm sure they want it fixed as much as you guys do.

This. Just something that explains what happened to the optimization they promised years ago. Instead we've had radio silence while performance gets worse.
It would be great if they made a post about performance and what they plan to do to fix it. Would probably make a lot of people happy and feel like they are listening.

How hard is to make a game that doesn't freeze these days? A lot of developers are still able to do it lmao.
I don't know how can people defend defective products and empty promises for years. What time to be alive.
I'm sure they would've already fixed it if they could've. They arent ignoring you guys. I'm sure it's being talked about and worked on. They've already released some patches that was supposed to help with performance(not sure if it did, tho). They aren't just doing nothing.

Sure, but it isn't like they haven't known about these issues for multiple years.
I'm sure they have. I don't think they've been ignoring it. It's just a very complicated thing, especially on old consoles. Again, I really hope you guys get fixes. I'll never play DbD on console again.

It's even more silly to wait. We all know the reason they stay. It's to be #########.
It's not more silly to wait. I'll do it sometimes to try and get all my WGLF stacks, totems, chests, etc. There are obviously people that do it to be toxic, but you can force them out.

The better question is. Why do people feel like being #########. And MAKE you force them out ? If you know everyone is safe. Leave. If you found the hatch. Leave. There's no need for me to see you leave or force you out.
That's just the way it is. People stay for different reasons. So many people complain when they can simply push them out. It's silly.

So recently I’ve fallen back in love with DBD and that’s mainly thanks to playing killer. I may not get the 4K every game but I am having fun and that’s the main thing, however, I’ve finally come across the type of survivors I see killer mains complaining about and my question is just simply why are survivors like this?
I was doing an old archive challenge that made me play as Trapper, I’m not good at all with him, I hardly play him (I’m a Pig and Nemesis main) but I want to do all the challenges so I played as him. I was enjoying myself somewhat until the end.
I think I got like 1 hook but I wasn’t really bothered, more concerned about the challenge, didn’t help that the survivors brought me to RPD but that’s not what got me, what got me is this. They were all at the gate and they opened it, I thought okay fair enough they’re out, I’m just gonna let them waste their own time and I’ll just keep resetting traps for a few extra points, the survivors then proceeded to COME BACK and start trying to blind me and clicky click their flashlights.
i don’t usually complain about flashlights because during the game it’s understandable, annoying but I get it, but at the point of the gates being opened and all the survivors are there, the game is over and there’s no need for that crap.
Its honestly survivors like that, that ruin the game for everyone else.
Why didn't you force them out instead of setting traps? Then you come to the forums to complain. I dont get it, lol. They probably wanted a few extra points.

Yeah by trolling the killer and bullying them, which is what they are commonly used for.
Before the nerf DS was essentially a bully perk that allowed the survivor to do their objective while having a god mode button and they can use it EVEN if they weren't being tunneled. It absolutely was OP and unfair.
I'm saying it's not OP right now... I'm not talking about the past. BT and DS are fine.

DS doesn't stop tunneling
BT doesn't stop tunneling
DH has nothing to do with camping and tunneling.
if the killer wants you out of the game DS and BT will not stop them
I'm well aware of that, but it can waste a bit of the killers time.

oh yeah like 90% of the SWF playerbase exclusively only use those perks because they are fair and balanced and not OP at all.
They are fair and balanced. You see them so much because of all the camping and tunneling that killers love to do. :)

If you're struggling without it then I'd say play without it and learn what you need to encase you ever need to and its improve your whole gameplay
This. I don't even use addons at all as killer and I main Legion and Pig.

A lot of posts are the same thing because people want to vent. And this is a good place to do it, this thread, because others share their frustration and we all know we're not alone, it's not just us.
Sometimes I want to literally scream, and complaining here is better than starting a new thread. Sharing my experiences does help release the frustration.
Feel free to do so. I did play on an old gen console (Xbox) before I got my gaming PC a couple of months ago, so I do know how bad it is. I just think it's a lot more work and way more complicated than what most people think. I'm hoping they fix it for you guys! :)

Easy for you to say if you are not on last gen.
If people can talk about how dead hard is so bad over and over again or how spirit is so op making countless threads all the time why can't we have one single thread where we talk about bad performance of the game we payed for which is getting worse actually over the years?
And btw some people came to solutions like ssd talking about it. We share our experiences and don't hurt anyone with this thread. If you don't like ignoring it is an option you know.
I don't like people crying about same perks/killers for years at this point and I never said that they should stop doing it. Everyone has the right to talk about things that concern dbd.
I never told anyone to stop posting (I even told you guys to continue), just that I'm sure the devs are aware of the problems. I'm glad you guys have came up with solutions, but the majority of posts are just the same thing over and over. Again, feel free to keep posting. I'm not annoyed or anything. Just sharing my 2 cents.
Edit: I did play on an old gen console until I switched to a gaming PC a couple of moths ago, so I know how it is.

Kinda surprised this thread is still going... I'm sure they are aware of the issues. Posting the same things over and over for 96 pages isn't going to make it go faster. I'm sure it'll get fixed if they can do it.

Everyone has had these games where the killer relentlessly chases you hoping to get you out of the game before it's over.
The complete lack of breathing room can be very annoying for a survivor player so it's generally frowned upon and everyone will look down on the killer.
One thing that i have been noticing is that when this happens. Your team is usually nowhere to be seen. They are just shaking their fist angrilly at the killer at a safe distance.
Why don't survivors come bodyblock? Why do unhookers dissapear into the shadows while you are out their making injured sounds and leaving blood trails.
Is tunneling really a killers fault or is it the killer taking advantage of the lack of cooperation from the survivors and we need to shift out frustration to the survivors who don't help you.
I know the optimal play is to split up and do gens but i feel that a lot of people are missing that competative survivors can get away with that cause everyone is atleast decent at looping and that it just doesn't work for casual players.
I've been trying to run bond and pay attention to bodyblocking, sometimes even going down for my teammates and the only person that gets tunneled during those games is me cause my fellow survivors don't return the favor.
The next time you get tunneled and your teammates have zero hooks and didn't do anything to stop it. Think who is really at fault here
"Think who is really at fault here"- The killer is at fault. Should the survivors try to help? Absolutely! It is the killers fault for tunneling, though. In my experience killers will still go after the survivor even if others body block them. You're most likely gonna die if the killer just keeps going after you no matter what.
-
You opened this thread...
... I came 😛

@Crowman said:

Yes, and if it happens in 1000 games, we're talking about 2000 minutes, aka 33 hours of time where you just wait. Let alone that survivors might not even be in the same gate. Forcing survivors out of 1 gate(aka, hitting them twice if you dont have an instadown), takes about 5 seconds each. Assuming I am at the gate with all of them there, sure, that's just 20 seconds extra to the match.
Assuming I am not there, that means I would have to walk to the gate they opened, meaning if I dont have vision on the gate I might first be at the wrong gate, THEN spend 5 seconds for each survivor, THEN not all of them might be there with the others being in the other gate, forcing me to go back to hit them all out, adding another 5 seconds for each survivor there. Walking between gates can take anywhere from 10 to 25 seconds. So if I am "lucky", I am at the right gate, all survivors there, 20 seconds later they are out. Fine. If I am "unlucky", that's 10 seconds just walking to the first gate, another 25 to walk to the other gate, hitting 2 survivors out for another 10 seconds, seeing no one else is near, me walking to the other gate, 1 person there, so 30 seconds just to force 1 person out, THEN walking back again for another 30 seconds just to force the last person out. That's nearly the entire lenght of the EGC, with all survivors safe and sound in the exit gate, just waiting, meaning I could have been AFK, and it would just be as effective.
So obviously "forcing survivors out" isnt really the solution
Stop
Wasting
Time
By
Waiting
In
The
Gate
You're just gonna have to force them out or let the EGC do it for you. Nothing else you can do and complaining isn't going to do anything. No one is gonna stop because you said so.
-
Wouldn't really say I'm hyped. The Hellraiser movies sucked in my opinion. Pinhead could be an interesting killer if they give him a unique and cool power, though.
-
@Huge_Bush said:
Just curious. Not saying that it is a "win", but if the match was fun, you had good chases and made lots of points, and two survivors escaped, would you be satisfied?
I used to think that I had to get a 4k when I played killer, mainly because of the toxic endgame chat where the survivors constantly berated me, but when I think about it, when I have 25K blood points and two kills, I'm usually happy. It only becomes frustrating when they're toxic as hell, then I want them all on hooks by any means possible.
"It only becomes frustrating when they're toxic as hell, then I want them all on hooks by any means possible."- That part made me giggle a bit, haha. I agree though! A 2K is absolutely fine to me, especially if I get a lot of points and good chases. :)
-
Had this happen to me a few days ago except 3 of us made it out because we figured out what he was trying to do. He was terrible at playing... I completely understand why he tried that trick, lol.

Sometimes you find yourself in situations where hatch is the only choice.
Which sounds to me like that is what happened. The survivors at the exit gate did have a choice though, and they chose to be selfish.
Two exit gates exist. He should have at least tried to leave through a gate since it would be pretty obvious the guy wasn't going to leave. I wouldn't say that was selfish... he most likely didn't even know where that survivor was. Maybe he was waiting to make sure he made it out?

People actually think like that. I've seen it other places as well. Forgive me if I wasn't sure it was bait or not...
-
@bibibib8 said:
Honestly why do you bring map offering i know you said the reason and all but honestly survivor dont need a map offering to get the advantage.
Even if they put a DC penality for the player who alt+f4 the killer will just go afk in a corner so in a way its better for you to go back in queue like that you dont lose your offering and addon
Survivors use map offering for the same reason killers do: To gain an advantage (or they just like the map). I don't quit the game just because a map offering is used. It's silly.

Yes, there were few times I saw 3rd survivor just keep standing at Gate, while the 4th injured one crouch near the hatch waiting for him to leave to get the hatch. And that 3rd guy just escape at the very last moment.
I had to blame that guy in post chat, if he wanted to help, just go back into the trial, find the 4th guy and lead him out. Its pointless just to wait at gate.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2427794#Comment_2427794
Leaving is Survivor's choice, they dont need Killer to push them out
You can't blame the last guy for that survivor dying. The guy at the hatch should've tried leaving through the gate instead of sitting on top of hatch until he died, lmao. I really don't know what people are thinking sometimes. Of course they don't need killers to force them out... I'm just saying that killers shouldn't complain about survivors sticking around if they are just gonna stand in a corner somewhere and not try to make them leave.
-
That's not killing your teammates... the person sitting on hatch should've went to the gate. The killer should've pushed the survivors out of the gate instead of being afraid that he might get t-bagged and get his feelings hurt.

What kind of logic is that? "Dont complain about the neighbours having loud music at night to the police, either knock on their door and tell them to lower it, or wait untill they go to sleep, dont complain if you dont want to knock on their door every single day, so what if they have loud music?".
This is a game we are talking about. How hard is it to open the gates and force survivors out? You guys seriously need to stop crying about this non issue. 🤦♂️
-
I've seen the movies and they were kinda stupid in my opinion. But I do think Pinhead would be a cool killer if it's him.

I can't believe someone even has to ask this question. It's very obvious why people don't like it.

Ah yes, spending up to 1,5 minutes just to reach the right gate, only for survivors to leave without taking any hits. Sure, doesnt matter if that happens 70% of the time.
It does matter, people should just ######### leave.
It doesn't matter. So what if they leave without taking a hit? Either push them out or wait until they leave. Don't complain if you don't want to force them to leave.
-
Sooo true! I don't like Nancy, Meg and Claudette players either. 😆

@Predated said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2394244#Comment_2394244
Because it DOES matter. If you are doing totems, you're still at risk of being downed before escaping. If you're just sticking in the exit gate, not planning on doing anything at all even if all your teammates have escaped, that is what matters.
I gladly accept survivors to stick around if they plan on doing totems, if they plan on healing up to go for a hatch escape. But that is not where this thread is about, it's about players who, fully healthy, wait on top of the line, even if you're across the entire map untill you walked all the way over to their gate, and that's often not even good enough, as they will wait untill you can physically touch them to leave.
And? Push them out. It doesn't matter.
-
Yep. It needs nerfed.
