I never said we weren't doing gens, nor did I say that the killer was face camping. But a red rank nurse is never farther then 1 blink to the hook, Deathslinger never out of firing range, all high mobility killers know how long to get back after they see someone's feet hit the ground. You do not have to be under the hook to zoom back for the hard tunnel. And Red Rank LOVE the proxy camp and hard tunnel, every single one.

Then they aren't CAMPING lol. Also if deathslinger is never more than a shot away from the then he's at max 18 meters away from the hook and IS camping, you should be able to see it, and simply do gens while he's doing it. Nurse always being within a blink of the hook is terrible unless she's actually in a chase. She's literally giving away her main strength, which is incredible chase power, to proxy camp. She's not the greatest proxy camper.

Returning to the unhook is almost ALWAYS, outside of you being already in chase with a close down, a good decision. It guarantees you halve the survivor workforce. Unhookee is injured and running away, self caring, medkit healing, whatever. Unhooker is now stuck in a chase. That's not camping

  • I don't believe for a second all these people claiming nothing but spirit/nurse/blight games in a row.

Nurse is something like the bottom 4 of killers played.

Blight/Spirit I'd believe more, but I think these peeps just say what the best killers are and go "ugh just these killers."

I've played one nurse in the last 3 days. I've played 2 spirits, I've played no blights. My MMR is high.

I see FAR more Wraiths/Nemesis/Pinheads than I do nurses or blights

EDIT: Also did you just claim that Devour/haunted/ruin/undying is BANNED from some tournaments? hahahahahah

  • Just remove the cap to bloodpoints on killers and survivors. Survivors who run a killer for 4 gens should get 20k bloodpoints for doing so.

  • I'd assume its based on ease of access. Legion can just wait for it to recharge. Plague can just walk to another fountain. Oni has to actively chase and injure survivors.

    That would be my guess

  • @Huge_Bush said:

High risk, high reward. They shouldn't have gotten butt hurt over it. No better than survivors who dc over getting downed first. Big babies.

I'd agree with this. But on some maps, its more like atmospheric risk, high reward.

    Only if you play swf.

Solo Qs usually dont have enough coordination to ignore the hook camper and do gens and to make an exchange during the last 20 seconds of each health state.

Therefore camping and tunneling is VERY effective against solo Q players.

FUN FACT: If people stay on gens and leave they are usually accused being gen rushers <3

Who cares if you're "accused of being a genrusher."

Thats your entire objective. And I don't know what survivor teams you're on. But when I see camping killers. I sit on gens, and since I always run kindred, I always see at least another survivor sitting on gens as well.

  • 25 minutes or so depending. I play IO games to pass the time

  • @gnehehe said:

I would say infinite healing / unbreakable (several boon perks for instance) while the totem still is lit. Killer had their BS/OP stuff with Ruin, I expect the same BS/OP stuff with the new boon totem mechanism for the survivor side now.

Except the game is already survivor sided.

And fixing one thing being broken by saying something else should be broken is stupid

  • Jesus dude LOL. Legion def needs a buff but my god, what you're proposing would literally break the game with how powerful it is

Sure if camping is always good then it is necessarily good sometimes and if it is good sometimes it may or may not be good all the time.

I think you may be treating the word good as optimal but it doesn't change things it's annoying to be camped.

As for if returning to the hook then leaving again is camping. The killer is not camping when he leaves the hook. If he returns later and then leaves again he is still not camping. If he returns and just stays there then he his camping. Not too complicated

So you understand the difference between sometimes and always. Therefore you should understand that a blanket statement like "Camping is good for killers" means that camping is ALWAYS good for killers. Which is false. Killers who say "camping is good" never say camping is always good. They say it is sometimes good, which is not the same as "camping is always good."

  • I don't know why you wouldn't like Midwich as a survivor.

I can tell the difference between camping is an effective strategy to win and its not an effective strategy. Just becuase it's effective doesn't mean there aren't other strategies available, just that they are much harder to do.

You seem to have trouble with me pointing out that it's effective and that many if not most killers seem to be willing to admit this. I'm not sure why you seem so intent on claiming it's absolute trash for killers to camp while then turning around and saying well except in the instances where I personally camp then it's not trash it's brilliant strategy. It doesn't matter if you think camping is somehow only effective when you do it, becuase it's effective other times killers do it...you k on becuase that's why they do it on the first place

    So honest question.

Can you tell the difference between "Camping is always a good tactic," and "Camping is sometimes a good tactic?"

Furthermore, can you tell the difference between face camping the hook, and returning to the hook after some time?

You define camping as a killer literally ever returning to the hook. Which is just an incorrect definition

  • She is a very fun killer. She somewhat relies on a bit of RNG in the game, such as chases being near a corrupted pool. Where your starting corrupted pool spawns. Things like that. But she is great at controlling areas and has tremendous snowball potential.

80% of plagues strength comes from knowing when to power up and knowing when to simply let people be infected

  • @wxnickxw said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2498991#Comment_2498991

Funny most if the killers seem to admit how good camping is as a strategy, I realize you may think it's poor and doesn't result in wins, but if that's the case why do you think so many killers do it?

If it's not helping them win why do it? It's nit fun for the killer either or do you think they just do it to ruin someone else's fun?

Why do they do it? Because the vast majority of players in this game, are not good at the game. They are, likely, casual players. But you are physically incapable of discerning the difference in the argument that "some camping can be good" and "camping is good"

Is facecamping from the moment you hook good? No. It loses you the game. Is patrolling back to the hook 20-30 seconds after you've hooked someone and they still haven't been rescued good? Hell yes it can be. You can get a free chase from someone and advance a hook state simply because survivors were greedy and stuck gens instead of rescuing.

No. Killers aren't "admitting that camping is good as a strategy." They're telling you that on occasion it can be beneficial to return to the hook if survivors have waited forever to rescue someone. You treat every single form of "camping" as the same as facecamping a survivor from the moment they're hooked. Blanket statements don't work, and you're the prime example as why. If I said "Milk is good for you." But you thought all milk was drunk a gallon at a time, you'd say no it isn't. I'd say don't drink a gallon at a time.

  • They changed it because they didn't know how to make franklins work with Nemesis's vaccines. So instead of just fixing the coding of Nemesis's vaccines they changed all of Frankins

Not in my experience, every red rank killer can't hump those hooks and tunnel people hard enough, just as sweaty has humanly possible.

Then why aren't you and your other teammates countering that by doing gens while he facecamps the guy on the hook and then leaving?

  • boring camping killers are at low mmr big guy.

  • I wouldn't. The game is not balanced and doesn't pretend to be balanced. Putting an MMR system into effect in a game that doesn't have any semblance of balance makes zero sense

Yes I know you don't want to lose your camping becuase you like doing it.

If it makes you feel better this wouldn't force killers to stop camping, the idea is to stop incentivising killers from camping making camping significantly less prevelent.

There is LITERALLY, already an incentive for killers to not camp. It is called LOSING THE GAME. If YOU as a survivor are not doing gens and punishing the killer for camping the hook for his one kill a game, then YOU are the reason that the killer is rewarded for his bad play.

Just because YOU don't like something doesn't mean the game should change to accommodate YOU.

I'm just gonna tell it to you straight. If your teammate is hooked and facecamped from hook to death, and you didn't do two gens in that time. It is YOUR fault. Every decent survivor in this game is FULLY capable of running a killer for AT LEAST one gen in the early game. Which means by the time the killer gets first down, moves to hook, hooks, and stands there. The team should have ALREADY done at least 2 gens. 3 are left. He facecamps, he auto loses and you all survive. 3 survive. One died. If this is not happening it is because YOU are messing up. YOU are the reason you are losing. Stop blaming facecamping killers for you not understanding how to counter them. Sit on a generator. Open the exit gate and LEAVE. If you're actually good at the game your mmr will take you past the killers who think facecamping the hook the entire time is a good strategy.

Lethal Pursuer was the early game change! 😂

Dude! You joke but that perk legit is the one saving grace for this game as of late. It's SUCH a well designed perk that I'm honestly amazed someone at BHVR came up with it. It's not overbearing, its not underpowered, its not overpowered, it addresses one of the main problems of killers being weak is finding that first chase.

Lethal Pursuer is honestly the best perk for the game state that they've come out with since Pop

  • Hi. Nurse/Killer main here. I don't hate NOED itself, I hate what NOEDs concept and representation is. It's a crutch to help someone who couldn't do it themselves. There are legit end game perks that are designed around end game. Rancor, Fire Up, Blood Warden. No Way Out, and others. These are perks DESIGNED around trying to play the endgame. Whether they are good or not (they aren't) is irrelevant because the design is sound.

NOED is just lazy and a reward for FAILING. As much as I hate adrenaline and think it needs to be nerfed, its design is sound. Its a risk perk that rewards you for SUCCEEDING. NOED just trains newer killers to not worry about the actual macro of the game, just wait for end game and get your one free kill that NOED gives you and move on. It doesn't address the higher problem of the game, which is its inherent imbalance, and map wackery.

So is Unbreakable OP then? You know what the counter to Unbreakable is? Don't slug.

So you didn't read anything in that post at all did you? I literally addressed your entire sentence.

  • i usually just assume its to stop killers from getting bbq info. Or its just a ragequit. If its the first it was pretty stupid, now you get to wait to play again. If you were in a swf I understand more cause you have teammates still playing so you can run out your clock. If it was a ragequit the queue time is irrelevant since you're not playing anyways.

I've long thought that DC penalties should only progress when you're actively on the game. Can't just wait it out by playing something else.

  • @Seraphor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2496820#Comment_2496820

You can waste more than 8 seconds if:

    • A survivor breaks free when you're carrying them to a hook, or they have DS.
    • You slug a survivor and they get back up again, say with Unbreakable.

Survivors perks waste the killers time all the time. This would simply be another type of survivor perk that does the same type of thing.

None of my examples are things the killer can't just ignore and power through, or counter in some other way. Survivor has a boon perk that allows them the ability to get themselves up from the dying state? Don't slug. Survivor has a boon perk that allows them wiggle faster? Get to a hook quicker. Survivor has a repair buff boon totem? No different to Prove Thyself or BNPs, pressure gens better or run slowdown.

IF the killer HAPPENS upon the boon totem itself, they can spend 2 seconds snuffing it out and disabling that perk.

Bruh just no lol. There's like 20 things wrong with this.

    1) If you get a survivor wiggling off, you've probably lost the game then and there. You lose your map pressure. You lose any activation perks from hooks. Three other survivors are doing things instead of potentiall one survivor doing things (one for rescuing and one in chase ideally)

    2) If you get hit by DS its the same as above just not as bad. Getting hit by DS engages you in an entire new chase and any decent survivor will turn that into a least another 30 seconds of running.

So using examples of other things that lose you the game to prove that boons don't lose you the game is uh...silly.

    3) "dont slug" Slugging is a counter to survivor pressure and is very frequently the only way for killers to snowball pressure into a win. Having a counter to something that is already a counter to something else makes zero sense. The game is survivor sided already. All your perk ideas are MASSIVE benefits to survivors who DO NOT NEED massive benefits. Unbreakable is already an S tier perk to most, A tier probably overall. And it rarely gets true use, works once, and on one person. The problem is that survivors don't need perks to win. Killers do. Perkless killer is reserved for challenging yourself and doesn't work against probably 90% of survivors, depending on your skill level. Perkless survivor is basically just evening out the playing field. I run perkless survivor half the time simply for fun. I don't run perkless killer for fun. Thats self torture

  • You mean when hes channeling the portal to summon a chain? If so he doesn't move at all.

That was literally all stated above. I said these are near infinite until you break those walls.

Also that's my exact point. It's a safe gen that's extremely difficult to protect against getting done. Same thing with the hangman's gen. So you have not one, but two gens that are usually just given up on by most killers.

And I know most killers don't chase into saloon. That's exactly why good survivors always run to it, which was also mentioned above.

If you think gallows gen is hard for killers to pressure I have a bridge to sell to you. Unless survivors have balanced landing. Gallows is actually massively unsafe for survivors to even think about running from

  • @GannTM said:

Not sure how people can say the map is killer sided. It may be small and has unsafe pallets but literally potentially 3 gens are impossible to defend and the main building is a near infinite.

What part of main building is a near infinite? Name one single part of saloon thats a near infinite. Once the breakable wall at top of inside stairs is broken the window actually loses you chase distance. The window next to gen drop down is right next to a hole in the fence that killers can just jump down instead of. Regardless, most killers simply do not chase into saloon unless they need to. There's no reason to do so. Let saloon gen go and patrol main street/saloon/gallows.

  • RPD would be an amazing map if it was two maps. RPD West and RPD East.

  • @Schardon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2497857#Comment_2497857

There are quite a few things to do in detail. I was talking about the broad spectrum of the game. "Leading the killer aways" is what I'd categorize as "chase" since the killer is going after you.

Quint essence of my statement is though, that the main objective of survivors is basically waiting (doing gens) and the main objective of killer is to basically make survivors wait (hook them).

Don't bother lol. This nick fella is the epitome of "So what you're saying is" and intentionally misreading everything you say just so he can make some arbitrary definition of him winning an argument that he knows nothing about.

  • I've always said killers/survivors should have one inherent perk unique to them that others cannot have. Bill with Unbreakable. Meg Adrenaline. etc etc etc etc

  • LOL What? Dead Dawg is one of the most killer sided maps in the pool. Azarovs and Coal Tower are the only ones more killer sided.

Literally ignore gens in the dead corner of the map. Patrol saloon, main street, and break barricades during your prep phase. Auto win for most killers against average survivors.

If you're losing badly on Dead Dawg as a killer then you got massively outplayed.

Saloon isn't an infinite loop even with the doors up. Break the door at the top of stairs and it becomes an unsafe loop. Main street loops around the carriages and vultures are INCREDIBLY unsafe. Gallows gen is basically free pressure unless a survivor has balanced landing.

The only really strong loops on dead dawg are the main street buildings if they get L T wall next to god window. Even then, you simply don't chase there.

You asked specifically for a killer main who said camping is a good strategy. That is you. You said it's a good strategy.

Then you went on to describe the when and why it is a good strategy.

Did that context change anything? No becuase when and why was irrelevant to the point that YOU are a killer that said camping is a good strategy.

Unless you want to change your mind and say your post about it being a viable strategy was wrong?

This is the last time I direct a post at you, as you're about as dense as granite. So I'll make this one VERY simple.

    Understanding context.

    You: Camping is bad/toxic/whatever.

Me: Camping in general hurts the killer more than it helps except in very specific circumstances.

You: Hah so you admit camping helps the killer. Checkmate.

Again. You're being intentionally dense to try and win an argument to make yourself feel better that you don't know how to handle camping killers. By assuming that I argue a subpoint, you assume I agree with the umbrella point. Don't bother responding. I won't be reading it. I just hope you can eventually outgrow your angst.

  • @Rey_512 said:

Where are you getting your math?

3 survivors = 3 gens in 80 seconds max (assuming no missed skill checks).

How are they gonna do 4 gens in 2 minutes with only 3 survivors? It’s not like the gens are lined up nicely for the survivors to hop onto the next one right after they finish one.

80 seconds. 3 gens done. 40 seconds to do another gen with 3 survivors. Or even better. half progress on 2 other gens. Gens are extremely close to one another and at this point in the games life if you cant find generators then you're probably a newer player.

  • I struggle to give you advice because your playstyle is actively hurting your team. I understand you want to play immersed, and I TOTALLY get that. I wish the game was more scary and less....I guess action would be the right word.

I'd say premonition, spine chill, or alert would fit the bill of what you're looking for.

I didn't read the while post becuaee you asked me to find a killer who thought camping was good and then said it was good in sentence two of your rant so commented. There is no context that changes you are the killer you were looking for

"If survivors leave another survivor on the hook until 10 seconds is left on the timer, coming back and camping the hook is a viable strategy."

Out of that sentence you took "camping is a viable strategy" and ran with it. So you are either being INTENTIONALLY obtuse, or you simply do not understand how to read a sentence with context connotations. Either way I assume you have no idea what you're talking about.

Admits he didn't read post. Still runs mouth. As usual the bads completely ignore the entire context to try and be right when they're just wrong. You keep on keepin on big guy. I'd say I'd be happy to play against you. But you'd never be in my MMR

If anything all the people here on the forums complaining about camping killers are just admitting that they aren't good. Good survivors know to do gens when they see teammates being facecamped. And good killers know you literally lose games for facecamping hooks.

I've played roughly 20 or so survivor games in the last couple days. Not one camping killer in any of them

Killers that I have LITERALLY less than 10 games on, are going against some of the same survivors that my Nurse is going against. Or that my Blight goes against. It makes no sense at all.

  • @wxnickxw said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2497672#Comment_2497672

Oh there's plenty of those too watch the killer mains come in with I don't camp only the worst killers camp. then it turns to well it's alright to camp in some situations (usually when they feel there loosing) becuase you gave to camp on those situations.

If camping wasn't effective it wouldn't be prevalent. But hey impose how about a mechanic change where hooks don't progress when the killer is near the survivor and nit in a chase?

Because if survivors leave someone on the hook in stage 2 until there's 10 seconds left of their hook. Coming back and camping it is a viable strategy. If you dont think it is, then you just aren't good at the game. Don't know what to tell you.

And no. I don't support any change to the hook state. The game shouldn't be forcing people to play how you want them to be played, thats the biggest slippery slope I've seen for this game. The rules of the game are in there, use them how you want. Just like I don't support speeding up the EGC to stop survivors from tbagging at the exit gates. You don't like the survivors tbagging at the gate? Don't lose, or dont go to the gate. Pick one.

"If camping wasn't effective it wouldnt be prevalent." That statement is only true assuming everyone is good at the game. They aren't. I literally just today watched a couple friends brand new to do the game play an inhouse. Killer camped one person to death. Everyone sat behind a rock scared cause they dont know what to do. Camping is effective, to bad players. I don't care about bad players. I really don't. Get good. Its kinda mean I fully realize but if you want to ######### about something that is easy to fix YOURSELF, then shrug. You see a killer camping. Go do a gen and a half. Punish him for it. Run BT with a flashlight. Run Decisive Strike. Run Soul Guard/Unbreakable.

  • @wxnickxw said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/280250/camping-is-so-unfair

Yah you can't mention how awful camping is around here, and don't propose any mechanic to fix this becuase the killer mains rely on It so all you'll get is a torrent of Camping is good becuase it let's killers kill or something to that effect. My personal favorite is when they say a mechanic won't work becuse it will prevent camping and that's just not right

Show me a single killer main who says camping the hook is a good strategy. I'll show you a bad killer main.

Saying a killer main "relies" on camping the hook just means you're quoting bad killers. So keep on with that strawman.

  • If he did that to three people back to back the survivors ROYALLY screwed up. Survivors have time to literally do 4 generators in the time it takes ONE survivor to go from first hook to death assuming no missed skill checks. It takes 80 seconds to do a gen baseline. takes 2 minutes to go from first hook to death. If a killer facecamped one survivor, he should have lost 4 gens. If he facecamped a 2nd, two other survivors should have already escaped

All Blinks are impossible to react to, that's kinda why she's used in comp DbD. Survivor shave to commit to a predictive action while she's charging one up, and she reacts to what she see's if the Nurse is any good.

And yes, Nurse often hits you while either charging or even partway through blinking, it's from latency. It may not look it on the Nurse's end but it happens a lot for survivors.

"all blinks are impossible to react to"

    Then you're playing drunk.

That's the worst argument I've ever heard lol. You say that like those 3 perks are useless against everyone besides spirit. Iron Will is a universal good perk, Spine Chill invalidates all stealth killers automatically. Lucky Break is one of the best sleeper perks in the game.

You aren't using 3 perks to counter one killer you may or may not get. You're using 3 good perks that just happen to work well against one of the best killers in the game as well. Very very few perks in this game target specific killers
