Love the classic "just watch it" responses
To answer your question @raze_ , yes he was (in the 2010 movie at least).
Because you are wrong. In the original he killed children. In the remakes he became a pedophile. Watching it solves you making the wrong statement

Hours played doesn’t mean you understand how Nurse works.
this. so much this. Nurse and Nurse understand literally requires you to play Nurse. You can play a bazillion hours against her but if you don't PLAY Nurse you don't understand her and ways to exploit what she does

He like the fact he can lower his rank to bully less skilled players, that's why everyone arguing against MMR want it to be removed.
Most of us arguing against MMR are arguing against it because no one wanted it and it doesnt work. This is a casual game with casual balance that is made competitive by certain people. Myself included. You cannot introduce an MMR system into a game that has no inherent win or loss. You simply cannot by definition. ESPECIALLY given that it is asymmetrical and RNG. This is a CASUAL game, and there is no game in the history of gaming that introduced an MMR system onto a casual game that worked.

you mean the killer who is literally better then nurse basically? lmao, trickster is a ######### machine when we come to basement plays, and this killer has meaningless counter play from the survivor's part, they can't do better then losing line of sight, and even 1% of line of sight is easily deadly because of 5 knives in that time span, and then the trickster with absolute no skill at all, can hit another knife and down the survivor, please tell me where this is fair and balanced AT ALL....
This right here. Is why this game is in its state. There are people who unironically think things that are just objectively false.
If you think Trickster is ANYTHING more than a gimmick mid tier who can sometimes get a fast down you are just objectively bad at the game or playing against bad survivors. Which are the same thing

I kind of disagree with that, Id agree with you a few years ago but now that we have lots more killers to learn, a much wider map pool which all of them have unique tiles that you have to learn how to run/deal with effectively, mindgames, bunch of stuff to memorize, this game takes a lot more skill than people realize
"this game takes a lot more skill than people realize"
It really doesnt. This isn't a very in depth game. Outside of Nurse and Blight, there is barely any mechanics required to learn as most killers besides hold W and left click survivors. There are situational killers like Trapper and Hag who need better game knowledge and go up in power as the player goes up in overall time played. But from a survivor standpoint there REALLY isn't much skill needed. Hold W. Look behind you for killer trying to mindgame, run the tile. It's really that simple. Outside of Nurse there isn't anything unintuitive about this game. Which is part of its charm. A lot of it IS, "pick up and go."
-
This is the case with every hard to learn hard to master high skill ceiling character in any game. Unfortunately DBD limits itself in what characters are able to do. Nurse is the literal only killer in this game that removes those limits with proper play. Haddonfield and Midwich, normally a killers worst nightmare, suddely become a sort of playground for good Nurse players. Proper blinking between small fences, or doing the suicide basement properly as Nurse. Blinking the stair turn on midwich properly. Bad nurses do poorly and stop playing because the time needed to actually reach a level of competence with her is WELL beyond what the casual player is willing to do.
Therefore by definition the only nurses you see, are garbage, or great. There aren't really any 'average' nurses in the game. She just doesnt operate under average play. Average with her is impossible due to her uniqueness and operation. She invalidates the rules of the game, only after sufficient time invested into her. Even then, Survivors simply win based off even skill.
-
Kills are possibly the worst way to gauge balance in this game.
Nurse was at a 42% kill rate. Does ANYONE on this planet that plays this game think Nurse is the worst killer in the game?
Legion had an above average kill rate. Does ANYONE on this planet that plays this game think Legion is an above average killer?
I don't think BHVR intentionally misuses statistics. I think they 100% have no idea how to properly use them. They need to compile more than just "kills" and make it public. At the BARE MINIMUM, there should be. Kills across every 100 points of mmr. from 1100 to 1900. Hooks across 100 points of MMR. Killer pick rate at every 100 points of mmr. Kills at every 100 points of mmr. Hatch escapes at every 100 points of mmr. Generators completed at every 100 points of mmr. Here's an important one. Time in game across every 100 points in mmr.
To any decent dev or statistician trying to make sense of data to make the game better these are MANDATORY. I'd be amazed if BHVR even kept track of half of those at any mmr.

Actually, the MMR isn't based on where a survivor escapes or is killed, it is based on whether the entire survivor team is above or below the 2 kills mark. So a survivor that lead a killer on a chase for 5 gens and is killed, is rewarded because the other 3 survivors escaped.
You do realize a Dev said its literally just escape/not escape yes?
-
No.
Anyone who says yes is just objectively not understanding skill in this game.
-
Actually its neither. With the discovery that its LITERALLY just "did you survive? y/n" being the main determination of MMR, its neither fair nor balanced. Good survivors who enjoy the chase mechanic and want to interact with the killer are actively punished due to having lower survival rates than the "do one gen and hide" survivor. Will the skill level EVENTUALLY flex out? Maybe. But if someone wins 51% of their games surviving and doing one gen and hiding. We'd all say they are bad at the game and dont contribute, BHVR would say they won and their MMR goes up.
Same goes for killers. The Myers who got 8 hooks and one kill after a long hard fought game, LOSES more MMR than the bubba who ran noed and camped the basement with 2 survivors in it and only got 3 hooks total. This will generally balance out better than the survivors will balance out, but still, its neither fair nor balanced.

I always believed that Pig's strength came from using her Ambush well, not from her traps. The traps are merely slowdown tools that "encourage" Survivors off of generators and onto boxes to keep their heads from popping. The points you get from a trap kill are small compared to hooking x3 and sacrificing anyway, so I always cringe whenever Survivors don't untrap themselves and quickly expire.
As a regular Pig player, I'm alright with the nerf to Tampered Timer (I never used it anyway, always favored Ambush addons) and am happy with the rest of the changes to her addons. I especially like the new Jigsaw's Sketch, Video Tape and Amanda's Letter.
I too want to slow myself down only to watch a survivor W key away from the loop im trying to mindgame by crouching with ambush.
It's a horrible power
-
Because the Key change wasn't the important part. The important part was that the hatch can no longer spawn with more than one survivor in the game. Killers weren't complaining about ONE survivor escaping with a key at the end. They were complaining about 3 survivors getting out cause the morons got themselves stuck into a 3 gen. The key change is irrelevant.
The key change is also massively overshadowed with the new Boon perks which are old Ruin levels of overpowered.
-
He's bottom 3 in the game with those changes and its not even debatable. His one of two main strengths was being pseudo stealth. he's lost that. he lost his quick scoping, his other main strength.
Losing to deathslinger is going to be an embarrassment as a survivor, same as losing to legion right now is.
-
Good. Imagine that. A killer who is actually a threat.
-
The 32 meter terror radius was the biggest nerf and I'm AMAZED no one is talking about that. a 110 killer with a 32 meter terror radius is just abysmal. The terror radius is what makes him basically unplayable now.
-
He's gone. Literally. He's going to be bottom 3.
-
@nicnc82 said:
I mean killers got the key changes they wanted. But you're never happy lol. Yall should know when you cry for survivor nerfs and get them, survivors get something else strong..
I'm a 60/40 killer player. I play killer 60%. The changes didn't bother me and I welcome more challenges. I don't want easy killer games. I also never camp and tunnel. But I also rarely use totem perks. I think this is a good way for killers to decide more is camping and tunneling worth it? They have a totem now helping them
One of the worst false equivalents I've ever seen. Just because one change was good doesn't make a difference change bad. Boon totems are a terrible thing regardless of key changes or not. Dumb argument.
-
@humanbeing1704 said:
right?
I don't care that much about the key nerf. What I do care about was this "The hatch will no longer spawn when there is more than one survivor in the match."
THIS was better than ANY key nerf.
-
@KolbyKolbyKolby said:
Of course the killer nerfs are survivor sided, just like the key nerf is killer sided.
Literally how could anything be nerfed without it benefiting the opposing team?
Don't worry, there's still nurse and legion if you want oppressive overpowered killers with no counter in chase.
Did....did you just call Legion, the worst killer in the game, overpowered?
-
@GannTM said:
Should’ve gave him more map pressure instead of just straight nerfing him and only giving him one unnoticeable QoL buff to compensate.
There's 10 things just off the top of my head I thought of to make him more fun to play as and against.
32 meter terror radius on a 110 killer is just unacceptable when you have literally zero mobility options. You cant quick scope now. So you react to a survivor near a corner? Nope, cant do that anymore. He's legit going to be bottom 5 now
-
On one hand this is what was supposed to happen. On the other hand this game isn't balanced around having matchmaking.
It's just a bad decision across the board
-
Remove it. The game is clearly not balanced around SWFs
-
Yeah to get enough DC's to get a full day ban, you have 100% dc'd more than two times in three days. You're straight lying.
Thats at least 5 DC's in a day.

Or maybe you are the arrogant one for trying to say that a perk is bad when in reality it isn't.
And you implied before that whispers isn't good before so maybe just maybe you are the insufferable one.
Also with your edit, learn how to read, I said that it helps a lot with her power.
Never once did i say that whispers was not good, nor did I imply it.

And some survivors want to get rid of bloodlust. Imagine how much longer it would take to catch up without it.
The problem is that bloodlust is a bandaid on the main problem. Which is piss poor map design. As a killer main I support removing bloodlust, but I don't support removing it while half the maps in the game basically require tier 1 bloodlust to get hit on any decent survivor

Well you may not know how to use it, I do so yes, it is a really good tracking perk.
Imagine being SO head up bum arrogant you think that ONLY you among the legion of good killers in this game know how to use whispers correctly.
maybe, JUST maybe, whispers isn't THAT good of a perk and you just like it. No one said whispers is a bad perk, its simply no where near as good as you make it seem. Maybe stop being an insufferable arrogantosaurus.
edit: also holy lol thinking whispers is needed on nurse at all.

Yes, all of the killers would drop ruin, bbq, and pop for whispers if it worked as it should logically work. 100%. Getting confirmation on whether some predictable as hell survivors are going to camp a hook is vital, and game changing information.
I wouldn't go THAT far. But yes if Whispers didnt factor in the survivor on the hook, you would 100% see it in half of the killer builds
-
No. I don't
-
@burt0r said:
Maybe because your reason was already correct, to stop single tap griefijg by other survivors and your trapper scenario being so niche that they can't make it a pivot point for this overall change?
Also if you remember them being the last one hooked in less than a minute, why not simply down them with a hit instead of grabbing them out of you trap and leave them slugged?
You think its niche to down a survivor before their DS is up after they've been healed? I do it constantly as Nurse/Trapper/Doc/Bubba etc etc. It's not even close to niche lol
-
@Axx said:
If you are healed, you personally aren't advancing the trial. It is very reasonable.
Neither does healing someone else, yet that deactivates DS
-
Bubba is the only killer I run into enough to think about running into more often than not. I go against a pretty diverse amount of killers. I can say with confidence I haven't gone against a Hag in months.
-
@konchok said:
Calling a perk that hasn't come out OP is like saying that the next killer will be twice as strong as nurse.
Except by definition boon totems will be overpowered. Game is survivor sided. Killers are pressed for time. Adding in a perk that gives a survivor extra power that the killer has to use time to get rid of lowers killers already non existent spare time in the game.

Well how about instead of telling killers to not camp we talk about ways the game can be changed to make killers not want to camp. Like stopping hook timer for camping killers sounds like a win win, no more camping and no one being toxic telling killers about how terribly boring the game is when there's camping?
Unless you don't really care about what you said you did and just want to keep camping of course then nevermind
"hey guys lets think of a way to change the game to make killers not want to camp." This is actually a good idea.
"Like stopping the hook timer for camping killers." This doesn't change the game to make killers not want to camp lol
You were onto something good, then just completely lost it with your prejudice.

Why should a survivor be prevented from playing a game and then be forced to stay in said game that they're not even allowed to take part in lest they get the blame for the results of the game?
I say the same for killers in that question too, tbf.
Securing a kill toward the end is not the issue; doing this at the beginning, with no way of countering it, is.
There is a way to counter it, it's called doing gens and forcing the killer to lose. If he wants to sacrifice the win just to camp one survivor. Oh well. Thats his choice
-
Do gens. Facecamping loses now. Moving on
-
Yeah it's a pretty dumb challenge. Especially if survivors don't know you're doing it. You literally have to throw the game to get it usually.
-
Dragons Grip. Fun perk. The problem is unless you're a stealth killer, you're pretty much never going to get to effectively use it. I basically call Dragons Grip "Ghostface only"
-
Yeah nah. We can't just go adding villains of every genre into this game. This isn't the type of game for any FF villain. This isn't a fantasy game. It's a "horror" game. Horror in context of the characters involved. Not actually horror, that would require an entire redesign of the game sadly, because it would be so cool.
