I don't say anything and just leave the match. It's pointless. Just turn off the chat entirely.
Sportsmanship is almost non-existent in DBD. People always play or act in a very toxic way.
Games are almost always way too 1-sided to even remotely be considered a "good game". Yeah, good for you?
-
I only do it when I get killers who tunnel off 1st hook to get a mori in any of my previous games. Don't wanna deal with that.
Mori gives too much of an easy win and gives really 0 counterplay. "Don't get caught", yeah? Not everyone can play like a god / loop forever.
Moris are worse than keys, because it can be used in the very early stages of the match. Keys require a specific number of gens vs survivors.
-
It's fine where it is now. Don't nerf an already balanced perk. If you lost because someone popped the last gen, that's your fault.
-
I don't mind this, as long as survivors are given priority the next time they queue. Because it would just be a dick move to do to survivors when queues are like 5+ minutes.

I think it just stems from it not being as common. Being LGBT already makes up about 5% of the population (from what I've heard).
I personally don't see David as bisexual or gay. He seems like a straight gay, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Yes he's butch and tough, but that doesn't really mean Meg is a lesbian or bi for being the same way either if that makes sense.
My own boyfriend is completely masculine, you'd never be able to tell he was gay. I'm the exact opposite, I'm pretty feminine and most people can tell right away. However, from my experience, a good chunk of over 50% I would say (I haven't done research, that's just my observation) of gay or bisexual men posses some feminine qualities. Not all of course, but it seems few and far between.
From my observation, David seems like the most masculine you can get out of our male roster, while it's entirely possible for him to be bi, based on all my previous information I just assume he's straight. The devs could surprise us though. However, seeing as the fact that his tome is already passed, it'll likely be a long while before we get more David lore.
Yui on the other hand, she seems like the perfect candidate to be bisexual. She has her feminine qualities but also participates and in and enjoys what is a mostly male-oriented sport. Perhaps that's even more of a stereotype. I just think she'd be a really good icon or representation of that group.
TLDR - Stereotypes aren't as bad as people make them out to be. The more the characters is like themselves, the more attached to them they will be. But anything is possible, however it is unlikely we'll get more lore for our previous characters until all the rest have gone through their tomes.
This. I think I personally fall pretty close to the "straight gay". I'm 100% gay, but I don't act like it and I don't talk like it - So really you'd never really know unless you asked me or I told you.
And also, just as a pointer ... Just because [someone] may have had a fling with a girl/guy (opposite/same sex) doesn't truly define a character's sexuality. You have to remember that almost (not saying literally) everyone experiments at least some point in their life. There are also those closeted gay/bisexual people who "pretend" to be straight and even establish straight relationships because they can't accept their true sexuality.
So all of this being said - Anything's possible. But I'm still highly believable that Dwight is gay/bi.

If camping and tunnelling are legit strats, then so is running DS and BT. If you're being tunnelled off hook, a lot (several games in a row), you're gonna have no choice but to run DS. Why? Being removed from each and every game you play in the first 2 minutes because killer decides to tunnel you off hook every time isn't very fun. And honestly, the map changes, while good in a sense (remove infinites) is also bad with the drastic tile changes and increase of deadzones overall.
Also, is slugging really that hard? Even if it may seem like an utter waste of time, it's actually a brilliant method to get survivors off gens.

I never understood Sprint Burst, I don't want to be walking around all game just so i can get a moderate advantage when the killer decides to chase me.
This. Exactly this. Walking all game to me is just boring.
-
I'm siding with you here. This should not be allowed. Also this killer sucks.
-
Just play Forever Freddy with Discordance. Discordance on Freddy is amazing. You have no idea how many people have the whole mindset "let's just genrush to get out ASAP cuz freddy = zZZzzz", so they always 2/3 man a gen. It's also really powerful combined with his Gen TP.
Just sayin ...
-
Against: Myers, Oni, Nurse, Demo
Playing as: Freddy, Myers, Oni
-
:( then I can't focus the entire gate-opening duration to stare at Dwight's handsome face
-
Or just add DBD Mobile's "DC Bots" and completely remove the penalty entirely since you have an AI take your place.
-
Deathslinger - Quickscoping ADS makes it almost completely uncounterable. Spamming A/D gives you no distance at all.
Ghostface - Simply because of his busted reveal mechanic. Fix that, and I'll have no further issue with him.
Hillbilly - Tailgating survivors, sorry not sorry, isn't skillful. With the map changes, there's more deadzones and unsafe pallets.
Spirit - Standing perfectly still is apparently a "mindgame" (not really), and requires no skill to not press any buttons.

Nice DBH reference.

Even if you were to prevent a survivor from "letting go" during struggle phase, that's not gonna stop them from finding the killer, running straight into them and basically pointing at a hook so they can die and be over with the game.
Punishing people for wanting to move on is stupid. Nobody should be forced to conform to your playstyle.
-
At first glance, I thought it was extremely OP. But after playing against it some, I've learned that it's perfectly fair and balanced. You have plenty of reaction time. Also, if you know how to mindgame and not be at all predictable, you can dodge it pretty well. Also, don't ever pallet camp.
Unlike the previously released killer, this one actually provides enough reaction time.
I say all this, and I'm a survivor main btw. But I do play killer (occasionally).
-
Primarily PC, but I also have DBD on the Switch and on my phone.
-
I think the best alternative option here, instead of a PTB would just be to allow you to "Try" a killer/survivor for 12 hours before it locks permanently and you have to pay? I think that would be pretty nice. And 12 hours is more than enough time to try different builds, suffer through queues, etc.
-
Tbh I think the game would just be better off without it. Just keep chat for survivor lobby, that's it.
-
Whispers many times has helped me to both find the first and last survivor. It's also helped to find people who just hide all game.
-
Just make perks like BBQ, WGLF (bloodpoint effect) and Kindred basekit. Ez.
-
Deathslinger for the exact same reason OP mentioned. I'm also the minority that actually enjoys going against a Freddy. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
If the game or anticheat doesn't detect it. But it's possible tbh.
Also, most monitors come with a crosshair feature, which is 100% undetectable since anticheats can't run on your monitor lol.

So you're basically farming. That part is fine with me.
And you think other people are "childish", "selfish", "indecent" and whatever else if they don't do it the way you want....What?
What is it with you guys who keep trying to take this high-horse, I'm-a-better-person attitude, but then talk like this just because people play a game differently? Why do you feel justified passing such harsh judgments on real players based on who they chase as a killer?
If I'm to be honest here, and based on my observations of this thread - You're the one who's taking things a bit too literal and assuming / jumping to conclusions that, despite other's saying that THEY like to play fairly/nice/wholesome, that you think they're saying "you play by my rules". I don't see this as the case at all. People play how they want, you can't really control that aside from what rules may exist.
I honestly feel like you're the one passing judgment on people way too quickly.
But overall, I think it's better to keep the "I'm nice until I feel like I've been wronged" mentality. That's my mentality while playing at least.
As both a killer and survivor, I'm generally wholesome until I feel like I've been wronged.
That being said ...
As a killer: I don't camp, I don't tunnel, I don't smack people on hooks, I don't nod / BM - Unless I feel like the survivor was an ass to me.
As a survivor: I don't use flashlights at all, I never tbag, I never point at the killer, I don't even run "crutch perks" - Unless I feel I was wronged.
Why? Because "that's how everyone should play"?? No, absolutely not. It's because that's how I want to play and how I like to play.
I'm a very casual gamer who simply wants to have fun and enjoy myself. Being an Internet troll is not at all enjoyable to me.
Also, @PigMainClaudette if I ever see you as my killer, can I boop your snoot? <3
-
I have to agree with you here. If all maps are eventually gonna become small and with many unsafe pallets/loops, then nah.
I'm in complete agreence that some maps should simply remain survivor/killer favoured - Having a little spice makes the game more fun. No killer should be entitled to a 4K every single game, and no survivor should be entitled to an easy escape every game. There needs to be a twist.
At first, I saw the map changes as good, with the removal of most infinites. But now? I really can't help but see the map updates as more killer sided instead of balanced. For example, wide-open doors directly next to window vaults? That's ... Stupid. And even while playing as a killer myself, it just feels too unfair. At least make breakable doors a certain distance from the window, instead of wide-open-right-next-to-window.
-
Deathslinger, Hag, Hillbilly, Ghostface
In this exact order, starting with "hate the most".
-
Sounds like you've been Window Teched quite a lot lol
But nah, I don't really see a point to this change. Just use your ears, you can often hear the survivor/grass/footsteps.
-
If I had the option to opt-out of any 1 specific killer, and never encounter them again - Great!
But the option to avoid SWF would murder your queues since there's a lot more SWF than killer I hate.
-
I have to agree here. Adding wide-open doors directly next to window vaults are very questionable .... It should be a fair distance away, not directly next to it. In addition, it should at the very least be a breakable door.
-
Honestly take 100 ping P2P lobbies over these servers ... At least hits felt more real.
-
Make me puke
-
I'm apparently not allowed to share an opinion, nice.
-
I also do not like the intro video. It's quite deafening. I feel like when the devs make these vids, they should strictly make it 10% volume.
-
stbfl rewards you for: missing ... counters body blocking by getting super-quick successive hits etc.
devour hope can 360 a game very quickly for a tryharding killer, especially if the map has good totem spawns. Plus I hate any forms of "unworked for" insta downs, it just feels downright cheap.
-
- Spirit Fury + Enduring
- NOED
- Blood Warden
- Devour Hope
- Rancor
- STBFL
- Unrelenting
-
Unpopular opinions (probably), but ...
More: Freddy & Myers
// I genuinely enjoy Freddy for the most part, and his dreamworld makes maps much brighter. Myers is all around fun
Less: Deathslinger, Billy and Ghostfaces
// Deathslinger feels oppressive. Almost every Billy I go against sweats for the 4K at 5 gens. I really dislike Ghostface's reveal mechanic.
-
Getting multiple ghostfaces/deathslingers/hillbillys in a row. (Annoying, especially with the way they all play)
Getting found 1st. (I feel like being found 1st for me usually means I won't escape at all)
Survivors who do nothing / hide in the vicinity while someone's being chased, instead of being on a gen. (I run bond, so ik)
-
Ghostface = snoozeface / ghostie boy
Hag = grandma / granny
Plague = vommy mommy
Huntress = bunny mom
Devour Hope = devour soap
Deathslinger = c***slinger
Jane Romero = Ms. Thicc'ms
Bill Overbeck = grandpa

I feel like people don't know how to reveal ghostface. A lot of people just look at him with the top of their screen, over obstacles and so on.
You have to look at him with the CENTER of your screen, use a crosshair, put some tape on the middle of the screen and try revealing him that way, it will work
Except, it doesn't work that way 100% of the time. There are many cases where you look at them "the right way" as people say, and many other different ways - and it just simply doesn't work a lot of the time.
-
I'm actually satisfied with little challenges like this. It's not difficult to do, but is something "extra".
Although, I do wish that you could complete multiple challenges in a single match, like Fortnite let's you do.
-
I'm hoping that it does it's job well. I've had cases before where I'm hit and the killer is nowhere even near me.
What I'm guessing, from a technical standpoint is, it will work based on the positioning of the player and the "attacking hitbox".
Attacking hitbox being the killer's means of attacking you (m1, hatchets, spear, chainsaw, etc).
Think of a positioning like Minecraft's X/Y/Z system. It could check and validate distance in a manner similar to that.
It could also check and determine how long a collision or "hit" was based in milliseconds.
-
Pretty much what some others have summed up, I can agree with tbh.
NOED, SB, Dead Hard, Decisive, Adrenaline, BBQ and Pop goes the weasel are fine and need no nerfs.
I think all of these perks are generally fine.
--
Hillbillies who get 90% of their downs with chainsaws are actually trash killers who have to rely on instant-downs. His chainsaw is his POWER not a weapon.
and
Hilbilly is not balanced at all.
I simply don't like the fact that you can "tailgate" someone / have skinny af arms and not be slowed when holding big heavy chainsaw. Saying "dont get caught" isn't really a viable excuse anymore considering there are so many more deadzones now + open doors DIRECTLY NEXT to window vaults.
--
I like all Coldwind Farm maps.
Same
--
SWF is fine and should not be punished in a casual game.
Indeed. Let people play with their friends. Solo sucks anyways.
--
That old Freddy was garbage, and its a good thing he was reworked.
Agreed.
--
Ghostface is a poorly designed buggy killer that appeals to the biggest douchebags.
Also agreed.
--
Dedicated Servers were a terrible idea for Dead by Daylight
To a point I can agree. Servers have caused so many issues I feel like, even today. At least with peer-to-peer, I feel like hits felt more real. I get a solid 0-20 ping on every single game [except dbd, which is 30ish].
--
ALL OF THIS ASIDE, here is my own opinions:
- Freddy is actually fun to go against.
- DeathSlinger completely ruins my mood and has very little counterplay.
- Killers who hard tunnel should have a Bloodpoint penalty, so they can't earn BP or actually lose BP.
- EGC should go 5x faster if all survivors are in or near the exit gate AND NOT in a chase.
- Ghostface stalk (on survivors) should regress over time.
-
I've had that happen once as well. Also use Sophos.
-

Killer.
As survivor, i have to rely on my teammates for certain challenges, which can be pretty hard if you're not SWF.
This. Entirely this, 100%
-
I stopped saying anything post-game. I just leave. Win or lose.
What I see the most frustrating is when a killer says "gg" when they 5-gen tryhard slug and 4K. Same goes for a 4-man swf who flashlights you at every opportunity, genrush, ALL tbag at gates and escape. Both cases are annoying.
Like yeah? gg for you? Not for everyone else.
-
Or ... Don't wanna play him because we don't wanna make survivors suffer? kekw
I am fully allowed to not like a certain killer. And I am fully allowed to have an opinion on one.
I have friends who have infact played him and they still agree that he's oppressive to survivors. Even streamers with 5/6k hours agree.
The "his power / he sucks to play as" doesn't really justify an argument at all. Let's be honest, a lot of killers aren't really viable, except a small select few.

@Nos37 said:
Deathslinger could be allowed to pull Survivors over pallets... However, the reel bar should turn red and have increased consumption rate so that it can only be done if the Survivor is not too far past the pallet.
Alternatively, if the Deathslinger performs a basic attack while a Survivor is being reeled, their basic attack should break any pallet or breakable wall that the weapon makes contact with. This stops the survivor from getting too far beyond the pallet while also breaking the pallet. This also rewards the Killer's skill/accuracy while not punishing the Survivor too heavily, as the Deathslinger still has to reload after breaking the pallet before shooting again.
Oh god no. There really is no skill behind aiming, considering all the world's top games are shooters .... Anyone can do it. This would make him unbearable to go against.

Emotes = big no. DBD is not Fortnite, and emotes generally just do not fit with the given tone and themes of Dead By Daylight.
If we're talking emotes that actual serve a function to benefit the communicative abilities of solo players that would be fine, gestures such as "the killer is right there" "save X" "heal me" or "repair this generator" but I get the feeling that is not what you were talking about
Emotes like making a stupid heart with your hands or gleefully waving on the other hand are not practical. They break character for the game and ruin the immersion of a proper horror experience. It would also be a huge disservice to the famous horror icons Dead By Daylight has faithfully recreated which were originally created to terrorize the imaginations of audiences throughout the decades. Not for a rank 1 survivor in an SWF to BM by making hearts at Michael Myers mid-chase behind the safety of a window or pallet.
And absolutely not. In the past three almost four years, never have the community as a whole asked nor has anyone from the entire developer team ever realistically considered implementing a voice chat into Dead By Daylight. And I do mean NEVER. Sorry, but I'm not looking to hear squeakers earraping their mics, survivors cuss me out while I'm playing killer or killers rage at me while I'm playing survivor. Not a chance in hell. If you want voice chat go play F13, but good luck, since the game is mostly dead anyway. Because that is not Dead By Daylight, never in a million godd*mn years.
This. Emotes are [also] only just gonna make the community even more toxic and annoying.
-
If you're lucky they'll let you keep it. The grind is rough enough as it is.
-
I try not to rely on any "2nd chance perks", unless I really really have to (such as getting tunnelled straight off hook, 5 - 10 games in a row).
I stopped using DH once the servers came out. I don't like SB as I hate walking all game. BL doesn't have enough use cases for me personally. Head On is fun, but usually only if you're just memeing with friends.
I think Adrenaline is the best go-to, as it assures a full-heal endgame + a temporary SB. Rewarded for doing the objective.
Edit: I forgot Lithe exists xd
