Oh yes, the game is very survivor sided when almost all maps were reworked to be 90% deadzones, Slinger and TunnelerHead being added, Tunnelling and Camping not effectively punished at all, Mori still not nerfed, many unbalanced addons and perk combos (more-so than DS/UB I'd argue), killer-first priority on DEADicated servers (completely ignoring lowest-ping-first, as it should be) and other things. Mhm.
Please, try playing only survivor, solo survivor. For an entire month straight. No killer at all, no SWF at all - For this duration period.
-
Just do what I do whenever the killers card doesn't turn. *Game crashed*.
-
You can already counter it by baiting it and being more patient. They did imply that it was gonna be changed to work better with Dedicated Servers, so likely less to be exhausted on the ground.
-
People crying about sabo when hooks respawn in like 30 seconds? Yikes
-
Yeah because we wanna sit on a gen for a whole 5+ minutes while the killer gets hand-held free pressure with no real skill involved.

Moris are already getting changed, and your idea is ridiculously op
Losing a chase and you see a locker? Hop right in with ds/head on
about to run out of ds during a chase? hop into a locker with ds/head on
Locker ds is as stupid as first hook mori is
But against a mori? I think it's extremely fair at the moment. Also if you're already in a losing scenario where the killer has everyone slugged but you, and you have DS .... You gotta do what you gotta do to survive, after all, you're a SURVIVOR.
The same way killers argue "I'm the killer, I'm supposed to kill" - Survivors are supposed to survive, any way they can.
-
- Plunders
- Inner Strength
- Head On
- Spine Chill + Resilience combo
- Bond
-
Yeah cuz we definitely wanna sit on a single gen for 5+ minutes, all so the killer has time to do stuff without adding any real skill-based pressure at all.
-
I wish more killers were like you.

Why is every game a killer camping or tunnelling? This is so boring, literally no interest in pressuring gens or anything...so the rest just do gens and totems (sometimes not all totems) then Noed spawns...here's more reward for a killer...Then you know the killer comes out with 2/3 kills for camping and tunnelling the whole game....the amount of times i've escaped and depipped with like 16k points for doing gens and totems because the killer has no interest in actually earning these kills or anything is a massive issue with the game.
Then the killer earns 25-30k Score for doing this...am I the only one failing to see how this game is "survivor sided" when it seems like all Killer have to do is stand still and focus one guy the whole game for everyone to lose pips and pretty much suffocate the whole game from anyone getting bloodpoints but themselves...and these are the types of Killers who will come on the forums and complain about second chance perks.
It's quite sad that these are the Killers i'm coming across in Red Ranks...and tbf, nothing against PC players but ever since Crossplay it's literally the same Killer playstyle every game against PC people...you can always tell when they're PC because i see nothing but slugging/camping/tunnelling. Quite sad where this game is right now.
100% agree. I really can't help but feel like with almost every update this year, BHVR is really hand-holding killers pretty badly.
-
Not relying on crutches. Not relying on instadown. Not relying on Bamboozle. Not relying on EndFury. Not relying on RunDying. Not relying on a mori. Not relying on tunnelling. Not relying on slugging at 4 / 5 gens. Not relying on poorly made basekit zoning powers. Not using any addons.
-
Being put into matches with only the killer someone's DC against would only encourage to simply never touch DBD again.
-
... Oh waahhh, killers have a lot of crutches / second chances too. Some even basekit.
Just how killers say they gotta do / run what they need to, in order to win - THE SAME goes for the survivors.
-
My game wouldn't crash to a mori if I didn't get tunneled off 1st hook every single time the killer brings one.
Seriously. Mories are extremely unfun to go against, and being forcibly removed from the game by being tunneled directly off hook? Yeah, I'll pass.
I can reopen my game faster than the other survivors/killer can even get an error message about match cancelled anyways.
Nerf mories to death hook requirement, and my game will never crash on the load screen again :)
-
What makes a game fun to me?
- Not being tunnelled, camped, proxied on hook
- Not being moried
- Not dying because BS hits / dogsh*t servers / VPN killer
- Not getting hit an hour after I vault a window (exaggeration yeah, but fr tho)
- Getting teammates who don't go down in less than 5 seconds
- Getting teammates who don't get off a gen at the slight sound of the TR, even when the killer's clearly on someone else
- Not getting Deathslinger or Spirit
-
Adept Plague. No matter how well you play, you almost never get this.
I think my 2nd choice would be "Left For Dead" but I was lucky enough to have my best friend be the killer and he knew I needed that LOL
-
Nerfed to second or death-hook.
-
Oh no! A survivor found a key from a chest and then found hatch, denying me my precious 4K! What ever shall I do! /s

I think that is an issue that can easily be solved by making all offerings secret.
Nerf mories first.
-
I never tunnel, even if there's no obsession.
The only case I'll actually tunnel is if you annoy me with flashlights at every single pallet.
And to be clear, I never run flashlights when I play as survivor - It's not my playstyle.
-
My game crashes on the loading screen every time there's a mori :)
-
I've said it months ago, but if there's any change to DS it should be:
If there are still generators that need to be completed:
DS will last indefinitely until the survivor performs an interaction. An interaction is: Touching a generator, touching a totem, dropping a pallet, clicking a flashlight, use an item, unhooking a survivor, entering a locker, completing a health-state of another survivor, COMPLETELY being healed YOURSELF (to prevent being sandbagged), etc.
If all generators are completed or EGC has started:
DS will last 30 seconds and will instantly be disabled if: You touch an exit gate, touch another survivor (even for a second), click flashlight, enter a locker, use an item, taking a protection hit for another survivor, etc.
----
I think this largely makes it fair for both sides and makes it a true anti tunnel perk.
-
I would rather see this system removed entirely. It's not healthy for the game - Considering the number of issues and reasons to actually DC.
Look into those issues and reasons first.
-
No.
-
How has nobody mentioned Huntress hatchets?
-
How about you leave Spine Chill alone .... I'd rather keep it as an "early warning system" instead of giving the killer a free BS insta down.
Also, fix GF reveal mechanic.
-
Just remove them and look into WHY people DC.
-
I have to agree with the conclusion that Dedicated Servers are solely to blame.
I have and pay for Business-class Gigabit Internet at home (run a business out of my house), and I average about 0 - 15ms on EVERY GAME, except for DBD. On DBD the "lobby" says I average about 20 - 30. But when I'm playing in-game? FEELS like 400 ping, even though the "esc tab" shows otherwise.
When DBD was P2P (peer-to-peer), even with 100+ ping hits always FELT real to me. I very rarely ran into lag switchers.
I blame very faulty netcode and poor server configuration there.
-
Just avoid doing the gen you spawn directly next to. 99% of games I've played, the killer goes straight to that gen at the start anyways.
-
Tunnelling and mories
-
Penalties are stupid overall, even on PC.
-
Mori should be nerfed to 2nd or death hook. It's not very fun and has very little to no counterplay at all.
-
Oh yeah, let's just keep making survivors experience worse and worse more and more.
-
? blank message? @Antares_2332
-
You barely even see it. So I think it's fine.
-
Sweaty is when the killer tries to slug at 4/5 gens, or runs obnoxious builds such as Bamboozle/EndFury.
Or ridiculous addons on an already very strong killer.
-
I use a macro for wiggling and struggling. Never had anything happen to me yet.
-
Yaaaay ... Another "<survivor perk> is OP" thread

I have seen survivors with well over 1K hours tunnel generators. NOED is still very much needed too.
People dont realise that these perks would never even be needed if survivors didnt play so #########.
I'm sorry that generators is a survivors only objective. What are they gonna do? Sit under the hook and wait to die?
As a killer, you have A LOT more options than just tunnelling.
-
@ABannedCat said:
I am all for that, if we do the same with Decisive Strike.
Its nessecary in low ranks, but once you reach rank10, it should be disabled.
Actually this is false. I've seen killers with well over 1K hours tunnel. It's still very much needed.
People don't realise that these perks would never even be needed if killers didn't play so sh*tty xD
-
Oh yeah ... Let's totally nerf a perk that gives survivors a chance to NOT BE TUNNELLED.
If DS was changed and killers were free to IMMEDIATELY re-hook survivors without any consequence, the game would surely lose players.
I know I wouldn't play if I were tunnelled out of the game every single match with nothing I can do LOL not everyone is a god at looping
-
Honestly, I have to agree 100% with OP.
-
This would be nice. Console vs Console.
I turned Crossplay off on my Switch because I don't wanna be matched against PC.
I primarily play on PC, but I do occasionally play on my Switch when I wanna get away from the PC sweat for a bit.
-
How about NO. I force close the game on the loading screen if I see a mori.
Why? Mories are boring, very unfun and pretty much no counter.
Nerf mories so you can't be tunnelled off first hook, then I'm fine with that.
-
I use Spine Chill as an "early warning system" for Ghostface.
If you're gonna nerf Spine Chill, then fix GF reveal mechanic first. AND MAKE SURE IT ACTUALLY WORKS 100%.
-

I don't think that's a bug. There's no point in changing it back if it will need to be changed again when they re-enable the new MMR
That's why the "toggle switch" they have to turn it on/off should affect in-game. So when they turn it on, it changes in-game.
-
Very unlikely. The devs have been severely out of touch with their community since this year started.
-
Tbh I would like this.
I don't own a real Mac, but I've setup a Hackintosh and I'm liking it a lot more than Windows. Dual booting is annoying.
-
The one thing is definitely accurate ... Killers complain about almost every little thing survivor has/does ... And yet, they also fail to admit that they also have certain crutches and unfair/bullsh*t perks and addons too.
Goes to show most don't even bother to play the other side /shrug
-
No, absolutely not.
