You're acting as if the average killer player is any better
Majority of the player base is new, meaning the majority of both sides are inexperienced.
Never said otherwise, but the thread is more about survivors understanding of camping and tunneling and I was posting from my experience.
It took me a long time to dabble in killer and see the game from their eyes. It’s just there is a huge survivor echo chamber here in the forums that like to drown out opposing views by lumping them all out as “killer mains” wanting easy games.
-
It took them over two years to give us the current system of escape = MMR goes up, Die = MMR goes down.
So all I have to say is, don’t hold your breath.
-
Don’t hold your breath. Most survivors are terrible at the game and think everything is designed against them.
I wish the game would force them to play killer a couple times a week so they can learn.

Trapper could use some small buffs
wraith is fine
Billy needs his overheat removed
Nurse needs a nerf of some kind(I have no idea how though)
Nurse needs a full rework. I’d start by making her faster in chase/base movement speed and giving her one blink while removing her fatigue and screen darkening and working from there.
Unfortunately, I think the devs fear the tsunami of rage and tears that will result and would rather leave her a buggy mess.
-
Hags counters aren’t hard, what is hard is relying on your teammates and doing what needs to be done.
First counter to Hag, if you’re a good looper, is to harass her while she tries to lay her web. If she can’t lay her traps, she’s a slow M1 killer, that can’t do anything but be forced to chase you. So just keep running at her while preserving pallets and buying gen repair time for your team.
Second counter to Hag is to set off all of her traps the moment she picks someone up. She can’t teleport while holding someone.
Third counter to Hag is to crawl up to the hook for the rescues and hope the hooked person knows to crawl away. 9 times out of ten, they don’t, and y’all die to MyC (I hate this perk with a passion).
Flashlights are also a good counter since they remove the trap but that’s just helpful if you happen to run one or find one in a chest.
The “idea” of Hag games are what I like about Dbd. Different killers forcing you to play differently. The problem comes down to dumb teammates and the devs catering to them rather than trying to force the survivor player to improve.

I’m stuck on my hospital bed. I want to be in the warm embrace of a bush while the killer nourishes the roots with the blood of fallen Fengs, but Alas, browsing the forums is all I can muster at the moment.

I am sorry you went through all that but I am glad things are getting somewhat better. Get well soon and don't worry. You are noticed, we love you.
Event is not that bad and cosmetics are nice but last update kinda ruined last gen performance again, still playable tho. People on forums are still arguing about similar things.
Nothing out of the ordinary unfortunately...
Bush might be withered but it will recover no doubt about it.

Im real sorry to hear that:( I am glad you are still here and i hope you can recover soon:)
5.3.0 came with some bugs... For the first week there was an infinite loading screen bug, but it got fixed a week later : D Boon totems are quite strong but not as busted as PTB suggested. I haven't actually seen a particular killer complained about as of late. Sadly i don't think there's any claudette cosmestics but i might be wrong on that.
And this is my favourite image as of late :

Just two good friends. I wonder what could happen next
edit : oh yeah, i completely forgot about the event. Uh it's a mixed bag i guess but there's a event tome which is cool i think.
Thanks for the update! That picture is Legendary!

It's because I go quiet at times lol! Some stuff is okay and nice, but now I am having to check the rift makre sure what I can get for free or near uch as I did not pay and pay a legendary outfi - hope good tidings are among you?
Things are okay on my part. I go quiet at times too, it gets tiring to deal with people on here. Since I'm cheap and don't believe in spending money on mediocre crap, I haven't had a reason to purchase anything on the rift, even if they're "nice". Most of it are just lazy reskins and they come out for shards later anyways.
-
Hi Mushwin! Haven't seen you posting in a while, it's nice to see a fellow person from among The Bush!
I think everything except Trappers pumpkin outfit is meh except for Feng's mime outfit and Plagues flowy outfit. Just another underwhelming rift like usual. I'm glad I never spent money on it.
-
I'll continue playing survivor until I work up the will to uninstall the game. Hopefully I'll find a healthier addiction.

you want survivors to adapt to something what is not possible, tell me how can the human brain react to something within mil seconds? thats not how the brain works we are not robots.
you sound like a entitled killer main who never played the other role gosh.
do you complain about the huge hitbox of survivors?
do you complain about the dedicated servers and how they give free hits?
do you complain about dead ends on some maps?
do you complain about exit gates standind next to each other so you can just watch both as killer?
do you complain about anything what survivors have to deal with? sure you dont.
do everyone a favor, stop playing killer for a week and jump into the survivor role and lets met again.
unlike you i play both sides and know the problems for both sides and will defend both of them and in this case deathslingers nerf is justified.
get used to it or go play a killer who doesnt require any braincells, timing or whatever its obvious that the new Slinger is nothing for you.
see ya
Survivor main here, happy to answer your questions.
- Survivor's don't have "huge" hitboxes. If they did, they wouldn't be able to tightly loop around obstacles and waste a killers time. In fact, their hitboxes are smaller by design to give them the advantage in a chase.
- Dedicated servers ruins it for both sides and can prevent killers from getting hits. It's not just a one sided thing.
- Maps are supposed to have dead ends. Awareness of your general surroundings is part of being a good survivor, it's no different to how killers need to pay attention to where the strong loops are and make a decision on whether or not to continue the chase and waste a bunch of time or abandon chase and go after someone else.
- Exit gates being close to each other can kind of suck, yes, but why should the last survivor have an easy escape? Isn't the killer entitled to kill you if they managed to kill all of your teammates and close the hatch before you could find it? Why is the last survivor entitled to escape after all the killers hard work? You also have the option to run Plunderers like I do and find a key.
- I don't complain about much since the game isn't supposed to be easy. Survivors are supposed to be weak and fear the killer when it is 1vs1. Survivor is the team role, as such, the team needs to work together to beat the killer.
The Deathslinger didn't need this specific nerf. He wasn't too hard to beat as a team. He excelled at downing people, especially those who were stupid and couldn't find cover to avoid his shots, but he had zero map pressure. Nine times out of ten, whenever I faced him, 4 gens would be done by the time he got to his 3rd hook. The only time we lost against him is like when I lose against most other killers, teammates hiding and doing nothing or moonwalking and bullsh*tting and not doing objectives. At the very least, the devs should have compensated his nerf with giving him some kind of map pressure.
It's obvious that you've never played killer and are terrible at survivor if these were your complaints.
-
I expect to see him as often as I see Billy, about once out of every 70 matches.
-
You have my vote!
Just make sure to buff Trapper a little more and give my Claudette a bush cosmetic.
-
I say this game has at least two more years left, more if the company gets their ######### in order and starts to put out quality content.
-
I love you too <3

@Shaped said:
Give me some shards and I am yours forever baby.
Nah, give me free shirtless Felix, Myers, and Dwight cosmetics as well as a bush cosmetic for Claudette and I'll never leave.
-
If they do, it would be a blessing and help me break my addiction to this game.

Just shows how flawed SBMMR is.
Everything about this game is flawed. Fact is, Behaviour just got really lucky with it.
-
This was common before MMR was released. If you want to get to higher skill matches and sweat your butt off, play stealthily and leave your teammates behind. The more you escape, the higher your mmr gets.
-
@razberrypizza said:
I wish it didnt work, its a bs perk that needs a ground up rework
They've actually stated to be doing this with its code, only to make sure it works better.
-
It's a few things, but the main thing is when the game gets too stale. New chapters did this, but the last few were just bland and broken and as the days go on, I constantly question why I keep playing. I wish the Devs would take two days out of the week, such as Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and test new mechanics and see what works and what doesn't in order to freshen things up. It doesn't have to be every week, but when they come up with something, they should test it on live servers like they did with the no Blood Lust weekend.
Heck, they can take it up a notch and have players suggest new ideas a couple times a year and the most up-voted idea can be tried out. I don't think anyone would quit over it, in fact, I think people would be excited for something different.
-
Play Basement Bubba or Trapper.
Tunnel from the start. It's no different from survivors doing their objective asap, even though many players will whine about it because they can't handle losing.
-
I’m actually surprised that Tombstone hasn’t been needed into the ground with the upcoming match. Either the devs think it’s a fine way to shake up the game, keep it as it is in order to keep getting sales for Myers or *puts on tinfoil hat* the license holder has more say in the killers abilities and power level than we think.
-
My experience has been the opposite. I’ve been getting more competent players, though not “exceptional”, which is fine since I’m not very good. I’m surviving about 50% of my matches these days.
-
I doubt it. He probably sells decent enough and its cheaper to have the license they have now than go after the film characters rights. Besides, his look is so iconic that they don't need to do anything, anyone interested in him and see him in this game will not even realize they're different characters.
-
I became a survivor main long before the new MMR. I didn’t like the stress of killer gameplay along with how it felt like everything in the game was against me and how toxic players were. I doubt much has changed. I will try buffed Trappi Boi a little but probably go back to my Bush.
-
Their code is too janky to do anything about hackers.
-
Not at all. They promised to stop focusing on other events in order to give us better Halloween and Anniversary events only to give us a normal chapter release with Resident Evil riddled with bugs and a couple of boring reskins. I doubt this will be much different, they're too scared to think outside of the box.
-
Perks can only do so much. The best thing to do against a camper is to either be so good at the game you can loop them for 5 gens or stealth well enough you're not caught. Next best thing is to play with good players who will take hits and trade hooks, if you can get away with BT.
If anything, I think the best anti-camping perk is Kindred, if, that is a big IF, you have competent teammates that know to rush gens and leave.
-
SWF will never be touched. They're Behaviours golden goose, as such, they get the special treatment. Instead, we Pig will probably get another nerf and eventually, when Behaviour thinks the backlash wont be so bad, Nurse will get the "rework" treatment.

Well, actually flashlight saves make the game faster since the killer lose momentum. I doubt that this perk would make survivors speedrun the game.
Not if the killer is competent and knows to look out for the flashlight rescuer. It’s better to have two people off of gens than three on gens. You slug one, chase the other and hopefully the third comes to pick up the slug.

Starstruck also punishes the survivors that are near the killer, so i think it would fit to the game construction. After all, you described it as taking a huge risk.
Now equip Star Struck with a Lightborn that blinds survivors and it would be even more powerful, which would just increase the current meta of rushing gens even faster rather than wasting time to save teammates.
I don’t know about you, but I personally don’t want faster games.
-
Too bad, so sad. Devs won’t reverse it, blame all the whiny survivors who refused to do totems and came on here crying for nerfs. As a solo survivor, I found matches with old Ruin more enjoyable too. I couldn’t hit all the great skill checks, but I knew to tap or just find the totem.
Survivors got what they deserve with the new Ruin, Undying and Tinkerer. Maybe if for once they’d try to get good or admit they’re just not very good at this game, instead of crying for nerfs, the game would be a little more entertaining.
-
It would be too strong. Survivors have to take a huge risk of getting close to the killer, getting blinded in return for trying to rescue a teammate will just get them killed. The perk is fine as it is.
-
Claudette. Survivors everywhere despair at the thought of my aversion to boring gens and my appetite for totems and chests. One look at my skillful Urban Evasion is all that is needed for my team to know the match is lost.
-
Just out of curiosity, what do you find wrong with the design team? Is it the art style?

5 players might've had 5 different maps in the previous game. That's why.
That said, yeah I'll use a map offering when I get the same map too often. A lot of people think "People use map offerings to get an advantage!" but a lot of us just use them because we're SICK of playing on Red Forest for the 5th time in one night.
There are still 10 more maps the game can choose from.

Then why do the 7 trickster mains get way more?
Because there are more players that play Trickster than there are Twins players. I see him on a more consistent basis than I do Twins which is like twice a month.
Btw, I’m not against them getting more cosmetics. I think they have an interesting design and it should be embraced. I had an idea for a cavewoman cosmetic that I think would be great. Charlotte would get a torn leopard hide dress, bone weapon, an updo hairstyle that is held together with a bone and Victor would be a hairy little monkey wearing a loincloth.
-
I doubt the devs want to invest the time into making cosmetics for the 5 people who play them.
-
When I keep getting the same maps over and over I just start using offerings or just stop playing. I don’t understand why it’s difficult for the devs to prevent the game from making players see the same maps over and over.

who cares who fault it is. You will suffer because of your high mmr. not them
And when they get to the point of not being able to kill anyone anymore, matchmaking would start paring them with lower skilled players, would it not? So what’s the problem?
-
- Balancing the game around potatoes rather than the competent players. Can’t they just set matchmaking so all new players will only be matched against each other and properly balance the game around people who know how to play?
- Bad Servers/Bugs
- Lack of will for the devs to change up the gameplay.

As long as you stay away from the shack you don't need to worry about traps anywhere else. As long as you split the pressure, a Trapper can't do much without committing to one gen.
Please tell this to all the solo players I get matched up with.
-
Any basement on any map if the killer is Trapper. If they use the new bag add-on along with the walk through traps add-on, and get you into the basement, you're screwed.
This is just a sample:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyC0QbbJqNkHeck, players better pay attention to gen locations and not give Trapper an easy 3 gen either.
