  • I always assumed it’s because he’s a licensed character and they’re afraid of nerfing his camping ability would affect sales. One could say survivors quitting due to getting camped could too, but I feel it’s less likely since Bubba isn’t all that common (at least in my MmR).

Then you have the whole psychological aspect of being addicted to escaping and beating a killer and getting screwed by Bubba, you queue up right after only to get those sweet endorphins after (hopefully) you win the next match.

  • Its just the current generation of gamers. It's not exclusive to dbd. Just lots of entitlement and people who can't handle loss or when things don't go their way.

Yeah, you know, i read this claim a lot from killers. But from my 7k+ hours in the game about 3/4 on survivor, that happened to me exactly once, while the 2-survivors-left scenario isnt that uncommon. Usually, the killer gets bored because he cant find the other one, and just hooks me, or he finds the other one and just kills both.

Yes, maybe you are the exception, but i feel there is a disparity on how i read about what killers do in such situations and what is really happening ingame.

You need to understand that the killer population on the forums are only a tiny percentage of the actual player-base. Also, I only dabble in killer, not a main at all. Mainly do challenges or play them when I get burnt out of survivor (re:dying over and over due to bad teammates).

Everything seems doom and gloom on the forums, but my experience in game isn't as horrible as everyone here makes it out to be.

and in this situation that other survivor is just trying to help you out finding that immersive rat, and that's the whole point

It depends on the match and how much attention I’ve given it. It could be the snitch is a rat and the immersive player became immersive because the snitch sabotaged their team throughout the match. They could have hid all match or just moonwalk in circles without doing objectives and when it came down to two left, they helped you by snitching when they deserved to get killed.

It could be the snitch was honest and took me to the turd of a teammate that did nothing. Doesn’t matter, snitches get stitches unless it was obvious to me that the one hiding did nothing. I’d rather they just go work on a gen or do bones instead of snitch and I’d go hunt the immersive one.

In the end, you do you and I’ll do me. Nice thing about his game is you can have a variety of play styles and outcomes.

Yes, but you also do that if you find me on a gen while the other is hidding.

Incorrect. As long as you weren’t toxic or constantly try to blind me (I hate getting blinded) and I notice that your teammate is doing nothing, I’ll slug you to bait them out if I need to and give you hatch to spite them. If they don’t take the bare, I’d let you off my shoulder and go search for them, which isn’t too hard since I usually play Mr Doctor with Iron Maiden and Whispers.

As a survivor main, nothing I hate more than selfish or useless teammates. Don’t get me started on teammates who stick to gens and let their hooked mate get to second stage. If that happens, everyone is going to die as soon as they reduce the hooked person, who will escape.

  • @TunnelVision said:

    1. Become one with your inner rat.

If your teammate is hiding and not contributing; lead the killer to the locker and point at it. You will be surprised how many killers will give you hatch in this scenario.

If I was the killer I’d kill you and let the hiding survivor go.

I play solo and I have learned lowering my MMR on purpose by doing all the things and then getting hooked after a gate is opened just pairs me with baby Dwights. It's not a good time lol

Yes, the unfortunate thing about this game is BHVR's matchmaking. If it worked properly, those sweaty Nurses would only be put up against sweaty swfs and everyone else would have a somewhat better time. Rather than just focusing on kills and escapes, it needs to take more things into account.

  • First, I love the addition of the poor thumbs up kitty. Second, its a try-hard killer player, they have the right to go as hard as they want, just as you do. It's not unique to Nurse, I've seen many killers do it. Third, if you're constantly facing sweaty try-hard Nurses, you're most likely in high MMR and I recommend you just die a lot so you can come down to my MMR where I hardly see a Nurse. Maybe 1 in 20 matches these days. I get a lot of Whiskers, tunneling Nemos, a rare Oni-chan here and there, Dredge is about one out of 4/5 matches and Plague is about one in six matches. Blight and twins are even more rare than Nurse. Sadako is a common killer I face as well.

  • An dark instrumental rendition of “It’s Raining Men” would be my choice.

  • Hunky new survivor who wears clothing that’s three sizes too small.

  • Use an offering for a smaller map. Use the iridescent add-on that automatically re-arms traps. Trap the shack window, one doorway (with pallet) and an outside corner in a bush. Place a trap on the basement stairs but make sure you can walk around it. Run Iron Grasp and haul a survivor in there.

You may not get it on first try but you’ll eventually get a try hard swf that refuse to let their teammate die in the basement.

Also, put some traps in random bushes that survivors wouldn’t expect them in. Most are expecting the trap at pallets and windows, so put them near the loop but not in plain sight.

You can also run Devour Hope, Undying and Haunted grounds and trap all the totems with darkened traps. Many new players don’t pay attention to the ground these days.

    Edit*

You can also signal to them that you want them to farm with you. There are a lot of nice people that will help. Just stand in front of them at a safe distance, place the trap on the floor and swing your weapon at it so they get the hint.

  • @Laluzi said:

The real killers in solo queue have always been your teammates.

I don't know who I hate more, the hook farmers or the ones who sandbag you in chase so they can fail at a flashlight save.

I hate the ones who run the killer to my hanging body the most. Like, turn around and lead them away! But nooo, they want to see the hope leave my beautiful hazel eyes and watch my soul float up into the sky.

  • @Yamaoka said:

    But... I don't do drugs.

I would hang out with Pyramid Head, though.

I don't either but I'd like some alone time with Mr Cake daddy too. As well as with David and Daddy Toscano.

  • Right after they make one for Claudette and release a bush cosmetic that morphs form depending on the map.

Then, they could release a new tome for Spirit with a new survivor character : Rin before death.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

    DC penalties already exist.

They just need to add a hidden matchmaking that pairs serial dc'er with each other.

  • Yes, this happened to me as well. Just BHVR being BHVR. I wish gaming companies were private rather than public so they wouldn't be beholden to shareholders and developers would have less pressure to make as much money as possible and focus on game health and fun.

  • YAS!

I need this so bad. I killed a poor Feng, who was a cutie pie the other day, by accident. Her dumb team let her get to second hook when I was planning to let them all live since I'm only doing challenges. Needless to say, I got mad when I saw her soul fly up into the sky and moried (devour hope) her teammates for letting her get to second stage on first hook.

Ohh.. Then you are just probably a bad and salty killer main who always complains about maps while playing this map like this Pig with 0 kills did.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/XM4DUWC1H5KB/20221105235912-1.jpg

She chased me (a very bad survivor, not even using dh) for 5 minutes far away from all the gens and got 1 hook in the end.

I never have an issue with this map when I play killer. My assumption is just there is a skill and ego issue on the killer side so they overcommit to chases far away from their 3-gen combos. Or play some weak m1 killer in a nice way and still expect to get 12 hooks / 4 k every single game.

Nope, I main Claudette the Queen and only play Killer for rift challenges or when I get burnt out on getting bad teammates over and over.

    Nice try tho.

  • Honestly, if Feng gets a Mr Puddles skin before Claudette gets a Bush skin I’ll probably be so mad I’d quit the game.

I’m still mad that Claudette didn’t get that frog cosmetic that was submitted for the community cosmetic contest when I first got into the game .

  • If a DBD killer suddenly appeared out my window, then that would mean there’s real magic in our universe. If that would be so, I would then will myself to become a powerful sorcerer and teleport the killer to my secret dungeon if they’re one of the hunky muscley ones. If not, they get teleported to a volcano.

If there isn’t magic, then they’re just another person in some weird cosplay. I have enough weapons to not worry about it.

  • My current build is composed of Undying, Devour Hope and Haunted Grounds. If they have a map they must die asap.

Otherwise, I don’t care about anything else. As long as they’re not being toxic all is fair game.

Now, bring in a terrible map offering such as RPD (still hate it after rework) or Dredges map with the poopy house and red light, everyone is going to have a very un-fun game.

  • Same reason why killers can repeatedly hit survivors on hook or let them bleed out on the floor while nodding at them.

Last post to you. Not "agree to disagree", because you are just wrong. But once again I forgot that in this Forum, Killers cannot do anything wrong...

It is not playing the game. Even if "AFK" means "away from keyboard", you cannot just say "Oh, they are at their keyboard, they are not afk". They are not playing the game by just standing still.

Be honest, you wont respond because you know you're wrong. It is playing the game, it's just a play style you don't like. The killer isn't just standing still. They're being patient and waiting for survivors to take the bait.

Never said killers cannot do anything wrong, but with your post history, it's always "killers are always wrong". You don't have to respond to me, I already know of your bias, your post history is littered with it.

  • If you genuinely think this is a killer sided map, I only have two words for you.....

Is it really playing the game, though? It's ignoring all objectives and interactive aspects of the game. The killer won't ever chase you and it's either touch the chest and die or do gens for five minutes.

I don't mind it because it's pretty rare, so when I run into it it's more funny than anything else, but I understand why people dislike it.

Like, by that logic a survivor who spends the whole match walking in circles is playing the game because they're not literally AFK. Doesn't mean they're doing anything, though.

Yes, it is still playing the game. The survivor you describe is also playing the game. It isn't effective and may not be fun for the opponents, sure, but they're still playing.

There are only two main objectives and several side objectives. The main objectives are kill the survivors or escape from the map. As long as no one is breaking any rules that the devs have set, they can use whatever strategy they want to accomplish their goal, no matter how poor of a method it may be.

Standing in the Basement is not playing the game. Dont be ridiculous.

    I'm not being ridiculous.

Standing in the game and using the chest as bait is playing the game. If the play is actively downing people for touching the chest, they are playing the game. They are still in control of their character and are still paying attention to what is going on in the match. AFK is when the player is away from the game and has zero interaction with it.

You're just projecting what you want the definition of "playing the game" towards killers who enjoy this.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Maybe they dont want to waste time and actually want to play a game which is not against an AFK-Killer. Nothing else is "Chest Defender Bubba".

He’s not AFK if he’s actively defending the chest and hooking people. You may not like it and that’s fine, but he’s still playing the game.

  • Don’t feel bad about the wait. I’ve been waiting for substantial improvements for Trappi Boi for years and not much other than a few QoL changes were made. They’ll get to Sadako eventually, during the next eclipse when all the planets align.

  • I do too. I have over 5k hours (majority playing as Claudette the Queen) and I’m average at best. Lithe and Windows of Opportunity carry me as well as pre-dropping pallets and sneaking away when I break LoS.

As killer, I can’t handle coordinated swf without tunneling the weak link. There are just too many resources on the maps that makes chasing a survivor who knows how to loop a miserable experience. Doesn’t help I like C tier killers like Doctor and D tier like Trappi Boi.

Honestly, if the game was even and I had fun I don’t care about winning too much. It just sucks when everything is stacked against you and the opponent gloats.

  • Oni-Chans want your macaroni.

So was doing the Bloodweb before any better?

I have to ask seems that more and more people are complaining about it

It wasn't better, it was just something that was accepted as part of the game. With the QOL change to the rift challenge selected, we see that the blood web selection can be improved. So, why not?

  • @ColonGlock said:

I mitigate this by immediately spending any points earned but I agree that automation should be an option.

I should do this but I have issues with my attention span and quickly forget about it while tabbing out to do something else. I also have cute little furballs that demand my attention otherwise they'd jump on my blinds and fall in the toilet like an idiot.

  • I took a break from September until the beginning of the Halloween event. I'm having fun. It may just be your MMR because while I wouldn't say I don't see tunneling often, it doesn't happen like you're describing it. I do see lots of killers rushing back to hooks though. I'm having fun and the killers I'm facing are at the level I can handle to waste enough time for one gen to pop.

My biggest issue are bad teammates. There are more DC'ers, Suiciders and potatoes that hide all match than I see killers tunnel.

People have been saying the game is dead since 2016 and yet here we are.......

  • Claudette.

Why you ask? Because she’s simply the best. No one else on this game comes close to her majesty. Not even the might of the Entity can compare to her.

Mikaela's outfit is... not great. Somebody on Reddit mentioned that she looks like Sid from Toy Story, and... they're not wrong. Luckily she got a pretty banger outfit last rift, so I'm not left hungering for a new Mikaela cosmetic. And the deep rift version of her hair is cool, at least. But that antique Adam set is absolutely delightful (and some really necessary food for Adam mains), and I really like the Meg outfit as well despite OG characters being totally overrepresented in the rift.

If Claudette steals the wings, that means Artist gets the bush cosmetic. >:|

The bush costmetic would kill Poopy Head so I’m okay with that.

  • I don’t care how pretty the clothes are, she’s still a Poopy Head.

Now give me those wings for my Claudette.

  • If they weren't toxic towards the killer and were a good teammate or an exceptional looper, I always die for them.

If they were toxic, they can die.

Y'all can't have it both ways. You can't call DS useless when it does discourage or prevent tunneling, just because you can't stun the killer when he's very intentionally not tunneling.

Never said it was useless. I disagree with you saying the current one discourages tunneling because the 3 seconds do nothing to discourage it, especially when faced against the most popular mobile killers who can quickly close the little distance you can gain. It was fine at 5 seconds as long as it was before 5 gens were done. As all things are with swf, they're really the only ones who can use it to it's full potential since they know how to rescue in pairs and take heat off of the survivor after they stun the killer. Solo needs something to help with the lack of teamwork and bumping it back to 5 seconds would do that.

  • What's the point of playing a multiplayer game if you're not going to play against multiple players?

Why keep playing a game if you're unhappy with it and not just go find a more fun game?

Wouldn't playing against the bots get boring, eventually? A.I. can only do so much (and this is BHVR- look at Tentacle Daddy's Zombies for an example) and you'll eventually hit a point where you'll easily beat them and get bored.

  • It's hard mode for killers just like Nurse is hard mode for survivors. Both are a part of the game and will not be removed. Just learn that it's only a video game and if you're not earning money, it really has no bearing on your life except for wasting your time when you could be more productive doing something else.

  • Haven't seen Bubbi in a long time and the ones I remember seeing only camped when 4 gens were completed and they had no kills or low hooks.

Some camp just because they want to rile you up just as survivors t-bag and point after every pallet stun.

So DS doesn't do anything, just because after gens are done specifically, it doesn't work?

No, it does something. It discourages killers from tunneling someone out as fast as possible and it gives the survivor player a chance to play a little more. It doesn't do anything if the killer doesn't tunnel and it doesn't prevent tunneling either. It just makes tunneling a little more frustrating for killers to pursue.

Except that such games as Nurse are no edge cases. Once you picked up Nurse you will win against the majority of Survivors you encounter and it is not that hard to learn her.

Even myself, who is not that good with her, win way more games than I lose as her. And I play without Slowdown and without Add Ons. If I would add in those I would probably win even more. As a complete average Nurse player.

It's literally the same for survivors. Once you learn how to play, get a good team and play efficiently, you will win against most killers. I myself am bad at looping and playing survivor in general, yet I can waste most killers time just by equipping Windows of opportunity and running from gens when I see them coming from a distance.

The main difference between killers and survivors is that there are just a lot more survivors who are terrible at this game.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

5 seconds is too long, to where even bad survivors made it oppressive. Now, all you get is a stun and a chance to get to a loop, not a free 20 seconds of distance. But DS from lockers should still be removed.

No, with it deactivating when all gens are complete, 5 seconds are fine.

1 … 29 30 31 32 33 … 101
