  • It sounds rude because it is rude.

Sure, Nurse players could go a bit easier on teams. And I've seen several of them do. But they don't have to. Much like any other killer, they'll play scummy if they want to. The game is not built in a way to stop that.

If you're not enjoying the game, you can always give up and tab out until everyone's dead. These games tend to be short, if anything.

  • I mean, this sounds objectively funny. I'm in.

  • I've had a survivor DC like this once because they thought I was camping but I was just bamboozled by such an unconventional hooking method.

  • What the dog doing ?

  • That's weird. Object should show you killer any time he's seeing you, so it's weird that it's shorter. Might be unintended ?

  • The only one I've seen is in that one game my friend brought one to try.

  • I never used the perk (even though I play Legion), but honestly as someone who plays more survivor than killer, I never thought the perk was a problem before 6.1., and even after the update. The buff was so slight, it's really just people realised how good the perk was and started using it a lot.

It definitely got done dirty with its nerf, the perk is now in a sorry state. That nerf felt rushed and not thought through.

If it has to be made less obnoxious on killers who can keep everyone injured easily, maybe something like this :

3 to 5% action speed debuff per injured survivors, but if all survivors are injured/on hook, it caps at 9 to 15% action speed debuff, BUT gives another effect : maybe a slight action speed buff for killer for swings/lunges? That way the killer is still rewarded for keeping everyone injured but the game doesn't become painfully slow for survivor, and the counterplay remains the same, healing.

  • Survivor : 5

    Legion : 6 to 7

    Hag : 5

    Other killers : 0 to 3

I still have much to learn, but I'm getting advices to get better !

  • That's always very cute ! It's adorable that they offered that in good faith as they thought you really were new. (It's also very cute that you went easy on them !)

I had a similar case a few days ago, I was playing Legion on Swamp and the survivors three-genned themselves pretty badly. It was only two Bills left. One of them was still trying to do the gens, and I'm pretty sure he was on death hook, but even using frenzy, I couldn't find the other (had run to the other side of the map to wait for hatch). I decided to only use the Bill who tried as a killer instinct-enabler to find the other. Since I had decided I wanted this Bill to live, I just ran around the map to find the other one.

In the end, the cool Bill finished the gen and opened the gate/left, and the other Bill eventually came out of hiding to offer me a kill as he saw I let the other go and thought I deserved my 3K.

On the other side, I pretty much always offer a kill to new nurses who've had a bad match. I've ran into a LOT of nice nurses, so I have a soft spot for them.

  • I mean, you got looped well but... it happens ? I've had plenty of good games as killer on this map and of bad games as survivor on coldwind as well. Those survivors knew how to loop and were somewhat organised. But looping is literally all they have not to die.

Also, and I don't mean this meanly but just as question, but why don't you break gens ? Is it to get the traps activated quicker ? (I don't know anything about Pig)

  • Playing survivor, I see a lot of tunneling, yet I rarely see teammates acting in a toxic way. Nor do I or the person I play with act in a BMing way.

It's just a thing because it's cost-efficient, read : low effort, big results.

Though if it happens to a toxic survivor, they had it coming. I know I for one don't hesitate to open the gates and leave if the last person in game was a toxic little annoyance to the killer.

  • Is your strategy altruistic ? No.

Is there any other choice to survive ? Not realistically.

They're right to feel a little bit salty, but if they were in your situation, they would probably do the same, and it's uncalled for of them to undervalue what you did during the whole game.

When I am left with someone at 2+ gens left, I'll generally do the opposite, get caught on purpose and die fast to give the other person hatch, as at that point I don't really care to win and just want the game to be over. So know that sometimes, the other person really does want you to hide long enough and escape.

I've won plenty of solo games then been accused of being in a 4-man SWF in postgame chat even though my friends' list is public. People don't like losing against solos at all and would rather believe that the only way they could ever lose is though a highly disciplined squad all on comms using their advanced training to call out everything the killer does before it even happens

Exactly. And this unwillingness to admit defeat against solos only encourages the idea that swfs are everywhere and all-powerful, and that it's worth it nerfing all survivors, most of them solos, to counter the mythical comp swfs.

You do realize that the long queues are because more people are playing killer currently, right?! Both sides are killing the game cause of the false mindset that there are win conditions. THERE ARE NONE. No one has common sense and realize the whole point of DBD is to LITERALLY get as many BPS as you can.

I don't think former survivor players switching to killer is because of a want to win; more so because they do not enjoy playing survivor again (which could be because of several reasons : having to re-learn other playstyles if their perks of choice got nerfed, the cheater wave, the camping and tunneling fashion of the moment, which regardless of their legitimacy ruins the fun when you're survivor, etc.).

Plus, if the whole point of DbD is to get as many bloodpoints as you can, then it's more practical to play killer, as they get consistently more bloodpoints than survivors (a bad game as killer will award you as much as a medium game as survivor)... Yet another reason why people are switching to killer currently as the prestige rework means a lot of people have to grind a lot.

Thankfully, this aspect will get better with the incentives and the bloodweb prices rework.

  • True. It's ridiculous how the fear of the sweaty comp 4-man SWF is ingrained in the mind of some killers, when its literally such a rare demographic of survivors that even in high mmr you won't encounter them that often. It's all-encompassing to the point that a lot of new killer players who watch content creators will actually shake in their boots in the lobby if they smell a possible SWF (or even a single flashlight).

Accoding to my friend, half the teams he faces are well-coordinated 3 and 4-men who will BM him every match. Yet I've seen maybe one genuine "bully squad" since I started playing. We're in the same killer mmr bracket. And it's not high.

There is just a lot of paranoia in this game.

Better Than New will give the standard 6% repair speed. it's the other effects that got buffed. they make no mention of removing it, they're just saying what's changed, which is the buff to the other components.

    Is this confirmed though ?

  • I will not spend a single bloodpoint until the updated prices are in effect, I can't wait !

  • So... Survivor would be useless for 45 seconds ?

  • The devs really should give us the option to opt out of "fast vs relevant" matchmaking. I think a lot of us wouldn't mind waiting a bit more to not be sent as death fodder to killers that are out of our league.

  • Will killer still see the aura ?

Or are we back to the pre-rework MoM ?

  • Positives :

    Love the bloodweb changes !

Good that they removed some of Wesker's weird collisions ! Chairs won't be his enemies now.

Good for Low Profile that it's not only useful when last one alive

Nice to have basekit BT extended ? Tunnelers will still find a way to tunnel, but it's already something.

    Negatives :

Don't like the way they prevented the infinite hooks with Reassurance, should have been a hooked player validation. Now camping won't be punished as much.

Don't like that Better Than New doesn't buff repair speed (I would have preferred a 5% constant buff rather than 16% on nothing useful).

Wesker's added Deep Wounds effect when survivor bowling feels uncalled for. Now the affected survivor has to mend, when before most people knew they were injured and would have healed or hid somewhere else. Much like a newbie against Legion, most people who previously didn't notice the wounds will now only notice it when they drop dead. Should have been a scream or an animation.

Looks like they didn't follow proper door etiquette.

... You just have a reaction video on the ready for this ? xD

  • Survivor go nyoooom

  • True. Even in the hype of the new DLC, it's unlikely in solo that all your teammates will have this perk (and good on them, you shouldn't have to pay $8 for a band-aid fix), so the fact that you can't stack it yourself should be compensated by increased time.

I don't believe Reassurance got nerfed at all, it just prevented survivors from keeping you on the hook indefinitely, is that what you wanted?

I think a better fix for camping would have been to be able to keep the survivor alive for longer than 30 secs per person using the perk (which will most likely be only 1 per lobby if any, as it's a DLC perk and not everyone can afford a 8$ band aid fix), with the option for the survivor on hook to decline the reassurance. There. No non-consensual indefinite hook state.

I wouldn't have minded deactivating the perk once the gates are powered as well, since it's a time where camping is completely legit in my opinion, and that way there could not be an infinite that would inconvenience the killer.

  • I would have much rather had a constant low % bonus on repairs than a higher % on everything except for gens. That "buff" was badly done.

  • Yeah. It's the same as Thana being nerfed because of its effects on Plague and Legion.

Or the same as survivors being nerfed because of high tier swf, a minority in the players.

Some outliers do influence perk balance.

  • I agree. The solution to let it counter camping and prevent it from being abused was to let the hooked survivor reject it, and disable it at endgame. Not make it once per hooked state. Now it will only be useful if several people in the group have the perk, which is unlikely since it's a paid DLC perk, unless in organised swfs who all have the DLC.

  • Reassurance got nerfed in a way that makes it much less effective, and Better Than New no longer gives repair speed. So no, survivors got nerfed as well.

  • They should have made it so that the hooked person validates it, not made it once per hook.

  • I love those price changes, that's gonna be some less grinding.

  • Midwich is all around horrible, so there's this one.

I'd also advocate for any Autohaven map and some MacMillan maps as well, they are very dark and finding gens can be hard, which leads to a lot of time loss.

  • I think your impressions are quite correct, at least for the beginner side, which is the one I would know.

  • True. Survivor is extremely beginner-hostile. The tutorial doesn't cover the most important parts of playing survivor, and there is no practical and non-discouraging way to practice playing unless you have friends to play customs with.

Killer, on the other hand, is relatively beginner-friendly, considering you'll start against survivors who have not yet mastered any mechanic of the game and you'll be overpowered for a good while before you're put against survivors who have any idea what they're doing.

  • Blighted Artist would be sick !

I'd love to see them do a blighted Twins as well.

  • I probably won't unless I get too frustrated with camping, I guess.

  • Making the game last longer to compensate for terrible times in other disciplines, most likely.

  • Doctor is really fun to go against, because his various add-ons make him unpredictable and affect the mood of the game, I think he's fine as is from the survivor point of view.

I haven't played him though, so I can't tell if from the killer perspective he needs a little boost.

  • Hoarder instincts haha

I didn't even know you could take it with you to the gate, gonna have to try that !

I love the gleeful endgame chat haha

  • You mean experienced, high-mmr SWF-sided.

It's not survivor sided for players with less than 500 hours, for solos and for casual swfs.

I have (secret) conditions for all killers that if the survivor does it, I will 100% let them go... unless they then trigger a following condition, in which case I will make it my purpose in life to feed them to the Entity. Still haven't thought of one for Wesker or Dredge yet.

What's your Legion condition, I'm curious ? Mine is if they accept a parkour challenge (Frenzy spam vault a pallet and see if they run away or come vault with me) :D

  • If I like their esthetic, lore, gameplay.

I used to watch my friends play DbD before I got the game, and pretty much immediately decided that Hag looked really cool and that giving out jumpscares sounded fun, so I was distraught to learn she was above the skill level of a bumbling new player.

I've started learning killer with a simpler one (Legion my beloved), but nothing feels more rewarding to me than a good Hag 4K, even though it's a bit harder to get.

  • Too often in my taste.

  • Killer : Generalist. Some surivor detection (Discordance / Spies from the Shadows), some regression (Overcharge), some fun (Devour), some niche plays (Mad Grit / Lightborn / Third Seal).

Survivor : Somewhat specialist, question mark ? We'll Make It for quick heals, but otherwise chase oriented (Windows, Lithe, Dance with me) because that's what I need to practice.

  • Literally every time I go against Plague, one of my teammates will cleanse right before hopping back onto a contaminated gen with me or before going to unhook a sick teammate.

  • @BreadSilence said:

This might be a dumb question but is there actually some way to know what your exact MMR even is? Cus I always see people on these forums say stuff like "I'm high mmr" or " My mmr is at 1800" and so I'm genuinely curious if there's a way to actually find out or if people just like to pull random numbers out of their booty hole.

There is no way of knowing what mmr you is at precisely (no official way at least), people generally guess at it from how long they played and what their usual performances are.

  • I always try to go for boop, but pigs always seem to reward me with a blade in my neck :(

  • I do think there should be something done to make matchmaking more healthy (maybe an option to disable "fast vs relevant" matchmaking), and two modes would be a great idea.

However, there is no stopping cocky competitive players from going into the casual mode just to grief or have easy stomps... Though I guess there is no perfect solution, and that should not stop the devs from trying to make the game more healthy for casual players.
