I just don’t understand why some people feel so entitled as to flat-out bully killers.
I’m never going to complain about ‘gen rushing’ because I know that’s the survivor’s objective and like… what else are they supposed to do?
But I constantly get put into games where I’m t-bagged, looped and spun around 24/7. And I’m not an experienced player in ANY sense, I don’t know how to counter them.
Even with Bamboozle and Unbreakable to deal with loops I always miss my hits because of their 10000% sensitivity that allows them to spin around like ######### tornadoes.
I know I sound a little pathetic, I’m not even really asking for anything, I just wish I could enjoy killers more.
Yh matches against bully squads suck. But just keep plugging at it. Inused to have the same issue and eventually you get to learn the signs and can switch perks to counter them as you improve. Try getting hillbilly and legion prestiged, lightborn is amazing to switch to if you see a swf with torch bullies. And without torches they will struggle a lot to bully you. And bodyblocking/sabotaging hooks is risky. You can punish them with iron grip and mad grit.
Plus when you do improve and can take down bully squads it is soo satisfying.
Also try not to let it colour your experience as killer, I'm much more chill in games with nice and skilled survs, usually let one get hatch unless i have a challenge to do. No need to spread the toxicity to those who don't deserve it. But if a surv/ team BMs me then I go all out to punish them 😈
-
Nah CoH is fine as is. Can't have it reveal other players in the area of the boon or shadow step is literally pointless, big issue since it's one of michaela's other personal perks. In all honesty as killer i don't have much trouble dealing with CoH. It's pretty easy to identify roughly where it is and snuffing it out only takes a second.
It's a good perk dont get me wrong, but even against sweaty swfs I've been able to find it easily. Plus if you run nurse's calling it acts as a nice little trap if you know where it is. Injure a surv, they run for boon, you see their aura, bash and hook 😁

Sure they are different things but both are still methods to win the game, are they not? Why is it that survivors methods to win the games that are quite often annoying and effective are ok to use but killers tunneling isnt? Again i dont like tunneling at early games and yes im agreeing killers should be given a reason not to, BUT i dont like the idea of survivors getting more and more perks as base.
I have lost multiple matches due to survivors good perks and bodyblocking, or lost multiple good hooks due to saboing so yeah im saying even though it doesnt sound the same as tunneling its still preventing the killer to do their objective and even win the game sometimes. Same as tunneling is preventing a survivor to do their objective and win the game. I'm still not here demanding forced penance or agitation or iron grasp to be basekit.
Those surv tactics are annoying but they are counterable. Bodyblocks are free hits, a sabo you can drop the carried surv and go after the saboteur. If a killer decides to tunnel you early, it not only prevents you winning but really prevents you playing the game unless you are extremely good at chases or you are part of an extremely good bully swf.

I'm sure you can see the problem giving survivors basekit perks and whatever else to fight tunneling will bring then. Killers that actually use it the "right way" will get heavily punished and many will start losing their games or even getting 0 kills at the end. This will just push the game to go back to what it was before. Survivor queues 15 minutes and killers extremely ticked off and bored.
You can't just keep giving 1 side everything and expect nothing bad to happen. What they need to do is to balance the game by other means. Like Seraphor earlier said you need to give killers more reasons to leave the hooks and not tunnel people. Right now they have none. Sure this will never fix the problem 100%,but punishing every killer out there because some like to be nasty isnt the right way to go.
I've been tunneled and camped heavily this week but i dont really get mad about it anymore. I die and move along. In the end its just a game.
Like i mentioned in the quoted post, maybe just punish tunneling early game. Allows survivors the opportunity to actually do something and earn a bit of bp, before a killer can decide to essentially lock them out of the game. And basekit guardian just gives the unhooked survivor a better chance to escape and make the unhooker a better target.

The idea ist just to make tunneling impossible and to let the unhooked survivor decide when to "get back into the game". The first action towards survivors instantly means that you are "safe" and from there on the killer is able to hit you again.
OTR and BT basekit are just useless if it comes to tunneling, as this only means that the killer needs two hits instead of one. Especially when the unhooked surv gets the hit directly after the unhook, the effect is zero.
In general you can say that if the killer wants to tunnel, he tunnels. No matter which perks you run or which basekit perks you have. And this also means that if you spawn in a bad location and the killer gets in a chase with you in the first seconds of the game, like due to lethal pursuer or something, you have no chance to get the game back to good, especially in soloQ. And this is a no-go IMO.

This might work but could lead to unforseen issues. If the player can't get hit at all then that means the killer won't even bother chasing them, meaning that you're completely useless until you get rid of that effect.
This would force the killer to go after the other survivors, but what if the unhooker hides and you don't know where any other survivors are? With how fast gens can get done, this will create an issue where you can't chase the only survivor you saw, and they can go to a safe location where they can meet up with other survivors to heal and go back on gens.
With the game's current state of balance, a solution like that would need other problems addressed before it's introduced to the game.
So maybe make it so the survivor can't be downed until they either heal, or make a conspicuous action, e.g. working on a gen. If there are 4 or more gens left. Because getting tunneled early game is the real issue. It just locks one player put of the game. This way killers can still utilise it if the game is going badly and everybody has chance to actually do something.
@Hannacia said:
Can killers get basekit perks to prevent bodyblocking, sabotaging and 99 gating? Or are survivor mains going to say not but these are tactics to help teammates.
Tunneling is a tactic to win the game, why is it so wrong for killers to have a tactic but survivors can have multiple ANNOYING might i add tactics to help eachother survive the match.
I'm not a fan of 5 gen tunneling not at all but when you guys say tunneling you completely forget that most killers have to start tunneling around 2 gens left if they have multiple people still alive. This is called building pressure. Is this not allowed then?
So i wasn't specific enough. My issue is early game tunneling, hell I'll use tunneling late game if I'm struggling, but doing it at 5 or 4 gens is a nasty unpleasant tactic that makes the game less enjoyable.
-
Ohhhh i was wondering why mine hadn't gone up as much as it should've done. Doesn't specify in the achievement you have to instagrab them out of a trap.

That's the thing with both sides some players will camp and tunnel from the start proxy camp is ok IF you know someone is there going for the save, same with survivors the perks and items they bring in can gen rush big time, keep saving someone you pick up etc but some survivors are not like that they would rather have fun then try and finish the match in 4 min.
Both go hand in hand how do you fix tunneling but also make it that the killers have a chance with out be gen rushed.
I mean proxy camping encourages gen rushing, if you tunnel one player and the survivors are clever, then you tie up two survivors. And the other 2 are free to rush gens. The reason people dislike tunneling is because it basically stops one player being able to play the game, because the killer is constantly on their back. Plus it upsets the balance of the game. 3v1 is very difficult for survs if only 2 gens are finished.
The only current way to really counter tunneling is for the targeted survivor to be insanely good at chases or the team to be extremely co ordinated. Which you don't usually see in low or mid mmr games. Especially solo q. Plus if tunneling became less effective then matchmaking would settle itself out. Bad and mediocre killers who rely on crutch tactics like that would get their mmr dropped to the point where they are against teams they don't need to tunnel against.
These lower skilled killers will rely on tunneling against higher level teams because it's their onl effective option against really good survivor players. And lets be honest tunneling ruins the game, certainly for survivors, one player has a bad experience, de pips and gets almost no bp because killer decided ######### them in particular. Rest of the team has a much harder game. And for killer it's kinda boring.
-
Wraith can be annoying but if you force him to uncloak near a pallet/window he will struggle for hits. My personally peast favourite killers to go against have to be pinhead, dredge, plague and huntress.
Pinhead and dredge have really annoying abilities designed to basically prevent you from playing. Plague just follows you vomiting until you are broken and every huntress i play against seems to proxy camp hook and tunnel the ######### out of you when you are unhooked.
Oh and nurse obsly. Game will either be a baby nurse and very boring or a sweaty nurse where you have no chance in a chase.
-
@ausanimal said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/349898/tunneling-solution
Here is a better idea survivors need to stop unhooking before the killer leaves , 90% of the time a killer tunnels is because a survivor unhooks right in front of them or before they take 10 steps.
So why wouldn't the killer go after the injured one and not the health one, a perfect example is Myers hooked someone popped tier 3 and 2 people went down trying to get rescue instead of waiting out the time like i did then go in for the saves,
I see that happen sometimes but tunneling killers will often proxy camp pretty hard. So you are often forced to unhook while killer is near.

That just sounds like a backwards excuse, no offense.
But yeah, if they decided to come up with this for Wesker, they shouldn't have come up with anything for him at all. I'd rather have blighted Deathslinger or Trickster than Wesker if he looks that underwhelming being affected by blight which whole idea is to turn more or less humane looking killers into body horror monsters.
Exactly. No sense making a half assed cosmetic that doesn't suit the killer.
-
Whatever the reason I'm glad i don't see many dredges. One of my least favourite killers to go against.
-
Mm i guess it's because most of the killers are very warped from their original human forms. Whereas wesker is one of the few killers that didn't need the entity's influence/corrupting empowerment to become a killer.
He's scary because he's a downright evil dude, who instead of getting turned into a nemesis style monstrosity by ouroboros, looks human but is very dangerous. It'd kind of ruin his look if he got changed into a blight style mostrosity.
Tbh I'm surprised they even gave him a blighted skin. Should've done one for deathslinger or artist.

Unfortuantely, it will always be a strategy, you can't solve it. If the game isn't going in the killer's favor tunneling a survivor out (even if it's me), is a great way to add pressure and slow the game down a bit. It isn't fun for the survivors, but neither is being killed, and that's part of the game. We are already possibly getting basekit Unbreakable to help make the game easier for us to prevent the killer from slugging, which in my opinion, sucks a lot more than being tunneled. Try running Off The Record, it is such a life saver.
Best anti-tunneling perks:
-Renewal
-Off The Record
-Decisive Strike
-Boon: Exponential (Try to get downed around the perimeter of the boon)
-Borrowed Time
-For The People
-Guardian
-Kindred (To allow for planning)
*Also a tip for teammates: PLEASE LEARN TO TAKE HITS! Whether someone is on death hook, or being tunneled, or is trying to make it out the exit gate, please try to be a good teammate. *
Don't think boon exponential or decisive strike are amazing for anti tunneling if the killer is very committed. A tunneling killer is going to grab you and run for hook straight away so you don't have time for a self res, and borrowed time is a bit meh, a lot of tunnelers will just put that deep wound straight on you when you get off hook, prevents dead harding their next hit.

For playstyle, the optimal position to be in as Twins is with everyone injured and spread out enough so they can't kick Victor when you down someone but close enough that you can slug multiple people. Therefore as Twins you should aim to spread pressure through injuries and prevent people from healing.
For perks you can experiment with different builds but I generally don't take off Shattered Hope and Sloppy Butcher due to how strong Boon: Circle of Healing and good medkits can be against twins. Avoid terror radius perks like Coulrophobia, you have no terror radius when you switch to Victor so it's hard to get value from it
For addons I'd recommend Toy Sword (Strongest addon, lets you pounce faster) and then either Stale Biscuit (Decreases the cooldown on pounces) or Tiny Fingernail (Lets you pull out Victor faster)
Few tips for Victor:
- Don't pounce while on stairs, you'll either instabump into the ground if a survivor is above you, or you'll jump over the survivor if they're below you
- You can pounce over dropped pallets and windows
- If you have 2+ survivors injured then try to avoid pouncing on a healthy survivor that looks like they know how to play against twins, they'll hold Victor hostage long enough for the injured survivors to reset (Unless the injured survivors are next to the healthy survivor trying to reset and Charlotte is far away and no Circle of Healing is in play, then pounce on the healthy survivor to generate more pressure and prevent then from healing as fast)
- If you hit a survivor with endurance they just go into deep wounds and they can crush you afterwards, make sure to bait out Dead Hard
Few tips for Charlotte:
- If you can get an easy down with Charlotte it's faster to M1 than to pull out Victor and wait 8 seconds before you can pick up after downing with Victor
- If you're getting blinded you can pull out Victor to instantly see again
General tips:
- When you're switching between Charlotte/Victor, look towards the other so that you can quickly figure out where you need to go
- Having 4 survivors injured as Twins is more pressure than having two healthy and two hooked survivors, always spread pressure
- You're going to be slugging way more than with other killers, keep track of who has unbreakable
Ty that's very helpful
-
Could be playing for hatch, I've done it once or twice playing for hatch challenges. Or just a new player who's scared and hides all the time lol. And aespa is right, if i suspect a killer is running bbq unless i have distortion, I'll jusmp in a locker if they've picked up a surv

Sounds like a cool idea. Be nice to see a bit more variety with killers. And maybe a bloodpoint penalty to playing nurse 🤣
But in all seriousness i like this idea, i see a lot of the same killers over and over. And almost never see twins, artist, demo etc

@Jeromy137 said:
Were they actually working with the killer or did they accidently find you while being chased by the killer?
Also some survivors just want everyone else to die so that they can use the solo survivor perks that for some odd reason exist
Ada being a survivor that comes with a solo survivor perks I could see them purposefully trying to get everyone else killed but that would not be against the rule unless they were actually working with the killer
Who runs into the basement on a chase?

-
Cool suggestion, since some of the killers are from a long time ago, especially plague. It would be nice to see some survs from historical times. Guess bhvr wants to keep them relatable, and i would say that canonically survs taken by the entity get used up eventually, canonically benjamin baker taken in the 1800s has written about seeing more modern survivors.
It would be cool because you could have some more survs who are directly linked with their killers. Like it'd be cool to see bayshore, or one of deathslingers bounty targets as a surv. Or perhaps a 16th century french character linked with the twins.
-
Because mmr sucks ass. Building mmr as killer is easy af. You'll get 4ks every game against solo q teams who don't have at least 2/3 damn good players. Your mmr will sky rocket and it'll take more than 10 bad games to drop it.
As surv you have to not only escape but also smash out altruistic and bold actions to perform well. Consistently raising your surv mmr is insanely hard particularly if you play solo q because potato team mates will negatively affect your mmr and it's really outside your control. Killers tunneling that cut your game short will also tank your surv mmr.
I'm in a similar situation atm, my surv games in solo q are awful i only perform well with my swf group. Where as my killer games I'm seeing super sweaty teams with 30-90 days play time each, when i have 9 days playtime.
-
It's a ######### practice, usually done by toxic impatient survs. Admittedly I'll suicide on hook if the killer is clearly insanely above my skill level. Or if killer is deliberately prolonging the game just to BM. I don't do that often, last time i felt the need to do it was against a nurse on midwich who was taking us apart, grabbed me straight off a gen at the start of the game hit every blink. Post match they turned out to be a prestige 55 🙄 matchmaker ######### up on that game. Think we literally had 4 hooks before a single gen was done they were downing us so quick.
I'll do it but only extremely rarely and never at the start of the game. I see so many hook suicides on first hook in my matches and it's frustrating as a survivor. Like people peace out when they are on first hook, at the beginning of a game. Had one person do it on ormond, 2 gens done, someone else had been hooked once then this player got their first hook and just tried to escape then whiffed the skill checks on 2nd phase. Asked them why afterwards and just got a rant about how we were noobs and shouldn't be playing the game.
It horribly unbalances the game when a surv does that at the start if the game.
-
Idk they're all pretty good. The pallet one is hysterical when you see a surv running for a fake pallet. The red stain one is handy because it acts as a spotlight, illusory doctors are handy for figuring where survs are, constant terror radius helps with stealth. I'd say the worst is a toss up between the illusory doctor one and the terror radius one. As they can benefit but are fairly unreliable.

Like i said im not saying dont add it. Im just saying its not going to be the fix all solution that many people seem think it will be because it will only help a partial portion of the playerbase. Whereas status icons showing what teammates are doing would be more universally useful.
That makes sense. I'd ideally like to see both added. Anything to make solo q a bit less awful.

yes i do have regression perks on my builds too, mostly SH:PR but you know sometimes u wanna try something new and u end up getting gen rushed to hell, its so dumb that every killer is forced to play with a gen regression perk
Mm it's the main mechanic of the game. Makes sense killers have to play around it. Could maybe try leaning into it and ignore gens? Make an endgame build where you just make as much hook progress as you can then turn it around in the endgame?
-
It's annoying. Tactically it is a sound choice for the killer, tunneling a player out early allows you to shift the balance in your favour and control the match more easily. If someone goes for an unhook and you can't land a hit on them. You have a choice between a one hit down and a two hit down. In any other situation with a wounded and an unwounded survivor, as killer you'll hit the weaker one for the quicker hook.
On the survivor side being tunneled is highly unpleasant and you can't really do much about it. Especially being hardcore tunneled where killer proxy camps hook and runs straight back after you to it on the sound notification. It's practically impossible to avoid that if they killer goes for it that hard.
As killer I generally avoid tunneling, unless a surv has been extremely toxic, or it's clearly a very good swf team that I'm struggling against and it's the only way to secure a kill. In a standard game I haul ass away from the hook as soon as the surv is on it.
-
Yeah the new potential changes sound awful. And i have like 50 ebony mori offerings to get through.

It would be fine if they add it but it would be less universally useful than a status icon/ping system because some people wont use it, and other people will troll/grief popl who dont use it.
I can recall many times playing pubg squads being friendly fired out of the game for not joining in on voice chat.
And I've seen people spam rotary system pings to troll. Toxicity will always be present with any function, game play, messaging, the ability to crouch.

I think demo is the closest, it's power is good, but not crazy OP, requires skill. And most people seem to hold a fondness for it. I love playing as and against demo, shredding pallets is fun and puts pressure on survs in a chase, ambushing out of portals is also a lot of fun. And landing that fully charged shred is super satisfying.
Favourite play with demo, portaling to the exit gate, charging a shred while stealthed and launching myself at a michaela who was being healed inside the exit gate, practically sniped her with the shred, managed to hit her between 2 survs healing her and picked her up before she crawled out. Super satisfying hit.
A couple of it's add ons are a little too strong, using both iridescents makes games a bit easy unless survs are gen rushing hard.
And the few times I've played against it, it has been fun to verse, not knowing where demo will pop up next, trying to predict where portals are. And once saw a demo absolutely launch itself into orbit with a shred from the top of a set of stairs. Comedy gold.
-
Just drop his terror radius a bit, slower speed and larger terror radius is an awful combo. And/or let him hit over pallets. Maybe at a cost of 25% chain durability surv gets dragged over the pallet or something. Animation would look cool.

It's pretty irrelevant. Don't see survivors destroying the remnant in night fall because survivors can't see #########.

Demo's two iridescent add ons are kind of insane. Know exactly where survs are and undetectable for like 15 seconds? So much fun for plucking people off of gens.
Also spirit with lotus blossom and mother daughter ring. Both make scratch marks invisible while haunting, and you move super quick and can see exactly where survs are. Another great gen jumpscare combo lol.
