  • Similar: I had a game today where a locker was face down like this in shack (upper floor, in the corner). Later in the trial, a survivor tried to hide "inside" of it and ended up standing against the wall under the hatchets. I was able to do the interaction to "open" the locker and pull them out, as though the locker were standing up normally.

  • I was blessed with the chance to play Trickster on all of the indoor maps and Haddonfield. At one point, I was able to injure a survivor with my knives.

I have a great story to tell. I've posted it on another post, but I'm sure all of you would love to hear it, so sit back and read if you'd like. Lemme copy & paste it real quick...

I had a game as Blight against a SWF team that had 2 No Mithers and 2 saboteurs. I think all of them had Breakdown, and they were all abusing it. At that time, Breakdown was bugged (and still is).

Basically their strategy was to get hooked near each other in the corner of the map, they pulled it off sadly, and their plan was to use that corner to their advantage. The No Mither guys would run into that corner and attempt to loop me with the pallet they saved there, and if the pallet was gone they would try to just hold W to that corner and let themselves get downed there. If I tried to pick them up, the hooks would be SO far away it would have been impossible to hook them. If I left them downed there, they would have recovered up an infinite amount of times and then go to a generator. Even if I tried going to the closest one, the flashlight saver (if he was up) would try to flashlight save. If that failed, the other two would try to bodyblock and use Breakout to screw me over so that the No Mither user wiggles out. I realized what they were trying to do and I had a plan.

My plan was to try and slug them so they bleed out. "But wouldn't making them bleed out take too much time?" Yeah, you're right. But you have 0 idea how many times I've downed these guys, even I lost count. So near the end of the game, I prioritized in killing the saboteur Yui so that it would be easier for me to focus on the others, maybe allowing me to get hooks. My idea worked... sort of. I was in a perfect situation with 3 of the survivors in that corner. I downed the Feng, downed the No Mither David, left them there, David recovers up, I wait 9 seconds to down him back, their bleedout timers are almost over. Unfortunately, the other NM David was gone. He was doing a gen. I didn't care, I needed these two dead. I would take a 3k. Now this is where the miracle happens.

The Feng and the David bled out.

After finishing his gen, the other David runs to them before they bled out, but he failed them, they were already dead. Aaaand I lethal rushed and hit him, left him there to bleed out because I didn't want to risk him getting hatch. Plus it was in the corner with the 2 hooks breakdowned. Later in the game they breakdowned more hooks around that corner, so it was actually impossible to hook anyone from that corner, even without bodyblockers. I am proud to take my W. Here are the game results:

I now understand why so many of the survivors I matched with today suddenly had No Mither.

Also: this is a good example of an instance where you should be able to report someone. Just because it isn't always possible to know that someone's exploiting a bug on purpose, that doesn't mean it isn't ever possible to know. Four people who show up with Breakdown and run to the same corner like that are clearly doing it on purpose.

  • Still feels bad to me, too. I'm just, like, dancing through threads about that today. I really, really wish there were a dev stream where they explained why he is the way he is. I don't get it.

  • Trickster still feels bad to me, too. I'd be happy with any of the most common suggestions that come up -- go normal speed, have knives bounce by default so they feel cool, give some reward for partially lacerating someone instead of all or nothing...

  • Same -- I used to and then I stopped because it doesn't do anything.

  • I agree, if it's EGC you need to camp the hook and defend it. I guess that's just extra true, now.

  • I agree that the grind is too intense. IMO, the grind for XP is too intense in general, and it should be easier to get some (and therefore get iridescent shards and rift shards). I'd be all in favour of an offering that gives bonus XP.

  • It's actually really hard to answer the question of whether this is legal, since the whole business of streaming video games in the first place is kind of murky, and there are different laws in different places. I'm actually not sure if anyone knows whether it's legal to record someone's game play without their consent -- but I would be interested to hear the answer if there's a lawyer who does.

Whether or not it's illegal, it's a really mean thing to do. I think, as a best practice, streamers should block out the names of people they play against, if seeing the names could lead someone back to a real person.

  • Frankly, I don't like it when I play survivor, either. It's the find-your-way-around-a-fence map and that's not fun.

  • Asking this community not to be toxic is like asking Gordon Ramsay to criticize your food in a polite, professional way -- like, yes, he could easily do that, but he's already made his choice.

  • The times it bugs me the most are when I didn't even want to grab -- I just wanted to do a fast attack on a survivor who was vaulting into my face, and then I got pulled into a grab animation, and then it cancelled, and then I just stood there stupidly while the survivor ran away. :(

  • If you're going to say I have no skill either way, I'd rather use NOED and get 1K as opposed to not using it and getting zero.

It was probably an error so they'll refund them once they look at your account and see the total amount that you had before they disappeared. It's all saved on the cloud.

Is it, though? Because, one would think that it would be, but the response people have gotten in the past makes me wonder if BHVR is actually keeping a record of what people have in their accounts.

  • I guess, if you were undetectable, they might honestly believe that you were camping the area around the basement and trying to trick them into thinking you left -- so that could be a misunderstanding. But it doesn't sound like that's what you were trying to do.

  • "I played a casual game in the friends mode and my friends screamed at me and called me trash" is such a DBD story to tell. Only play custom matches with people you actually like. If someone's going to call you trash, you should at least get points for it.

  • Interesting. So the new OoO + Sole Survivor combo creates a situation where you have Object in the early game but by late game it basically gets cancelled if you're the only one alive. So, less of a situation where it gets more powerful and more of a situation where it gets less dangerous.

  • I actually don't care about the brightness. I just hate how all the new maps look empty and generic. And I don't have a good enough art vocabulary to explain why it looks that way to me, which is frustrating.

I mean...He's wearing a mask to hide his face NOT because claudette is black dwight and meg are white and jake is asian he's wearing it to hide his face and not because of the person's race It wouldve been racist if it was JUST claudette

I don't think the important question is whether Leatherface, the character, is being racist. I agree that he's probably not. He probably just likes to steal faces, and he doesn't care whose they are. The question I'm more interested in is whether it's problematic for BHVR to make a design choice where a white character ends up wearing a black person's face -- and I think it is, because that's such a charged image in our society and they're not using it for any real artistic purpose.

  • The notes say the terror radius requirement is removed, so the literal meaning of that would be that, when you unhook someone with BT, they get Endurance, and no other conditions need to be met. However, sometimes the notes are misleading. So I'll be interested to see if that's how ti works.

So if bubba is using a black head it's racist but if hes using 2 white heads and an asian one It's not racist? tf lmao

A white person dressing up as a black person has a different meaning in our culture, so it's not the exact same thing. FWIW, I wish he wouldn't wear anyone's face but, if he must, I think they should have just given him Dwight's.

  • It's an interesting question. I think that, as far as the basic use of keeping people away while you're carrying, it's a great addition to the game. I think time will tell whether the secondary use (hunting people after they've been exposed) is a problem.

  • I've always hated that head, but I didn't know what it was called until now. Normally I like the cosmetics in this game, but occasionally there's something where you can tell no one really thought through the implications and it ends up feeling weird.

  • I nerfing the snares, since a lot of people will just spam them during a chase, but you don't really spam pallets the same way, so I don't see how it hurts anything for him to get 10. Especially since he needs to spread them out ahead of time, across the whole map.

  • This is one of the reasons I wish you could have more than one challenge on the go at once. A lot of them depend on stuff you can't control, and it's more like, "If you get lucky and have a chance to do this..." so, having a few on the go at once would be less oppressive.

Last time this particular challenge came up, the only way I did it was a lucky farming match where the killer just stood beside me while I did gens.

  • This is the yellow rank killer experience. :( I don't know why it starts matching you with reds at that stage, but it does.

  • I like the pumpkin -- the 3D one that kind of looks like a plushie, not the flat one. I also like the unicorn from Hillbilly's rift.

  • It makes sense to me that you'd score fewer points for winning against someone who had no chance to beat you, so a total shutout shouldn't reward you as much as an even game with lots of back and forth (and therefore lots of opportunities to get points).

I think what's frustrating about situations like this is that the broken matchmaking is putting people in uneven matches, which then leads to them losing points, and it doesn't feel like there's much players can do about it. But I don't think the answer is to change the pips so much as it's to change the matchmaking.

  • I would be okay with having an obsession in every game if having/being an obsession had some kind of effect without obsession perks. I don't like the idea of having an obsession in every game just for the sake of obscuring information.

  • You are definitely making the game harder for yourself than it strictly has to be. I'm often in the same boat, and I've found that sometimes I can make a compromise with myself, like slugging the unhooked survivor then chasing the healthy one with no intention to come back, or only camping during EGC if I have zero kills. It's hard to find a balance between trying to do well and trying not to be unnecessarily mean.

I'm almost positive I would quit. I'm sorry but the thought of 1k hours as well as over $100 spent is just an insane amount of time and money to lose. Maybe if I took a huge break, I'd come back.

With that being said, if it makes you feel any better, I'm in the same boat as you my friend. My PC build should be finished in a few weeks but since I play on console and there's no cross-progression, I'm screwed.

I feel the same way. I have a similar number of hours and $ invested and I can't see myself starting over again unless maybe 5 years went by and I checked back in to see how the game had evolved.

    1. Skill-based match-making system.
    2. Give killers a taunt so they can return fire when someone teabags and points.
    3. Polish the existing maps to get rid of fat-shaming spots, weird buggy corners, etc.
  • It's annoying. I eventually adjusted the way I play so that, if I want to cancel an action and I haven't had a skill check in a while, I wait for the next one and then let go after. If it's an absolutely emergency, of course, I still just let go and take my chances but, most of the time, waiting for the next skill check is okay.

  • I think Nurse has the best chance. She can blink away from everyone while they pick each other off and then blink in and kill whoever's left at the end.

  • I'll have to see how it feels after the update, but this doesn't sound like it's significant enough to take it from "I will always feel like a tortoise and lose" to "I might not always feel like a tortoise and lose." At least not for me.

  • I've already told my story, too. The TL:DR version is: survivors had a rough early game so I backed off and let them recover, trying to make sure we all got a chance to play; they responded by luring me into an ambush where they chain-stunned me and teabagged until I ran away and hid.

  • My preferred solution would be to keep the tiers, but give the first tier for free. Meaning, if you have the teachable, then all of your characters immediately have tier one of that perk without you needing to grind for it. That way, you'd still have a reason to level up the perks in the blood web, but you'd also be able to play around with different builds right away.

  • For the sake of simplicity, maybe after the match has gone for at least 20 minutes, a glyph spawns that either side can use to trigger EGC. That would get you out of every hostage-taking scenario except the one where a killer body-blocks the last survivor in a corner.

  • As soon as they farm me or beckon me to follow them and lead me to the killer, I start hoping they get killed. Sometimes killers figure out when your own teammate is griefing you and kill them first -- it's a wonderful thing when it happens.

  • Considering that it's just the cosmetics he launched with, I think there's a some nice variation and colour combos.

  • Good. I'm excited to hear what it is.

Also... I like their Twitter person a lot, but why is that the only person who tells us stuff?

  • ❤️❤️❤️ I haven't been this excited for a change since EGC.

  • It's hard to know if someone's doing it wrong without being able to see. But, the procedure is:

    • watch for Premonition to go off
    • stop moving your camera and leave it facing the direction it was when Premonition activated
    • turn your character model to face the same way as your camera
    • point repeatedly (2-3 times)

If you keep doing that over and over, hopefully two of them will count.

  • Yeah, I think the female survivors have more/better fashion choices in general. Dwight has a lot of joke costumes that I think are pretty funny, and there are looks you can cobble together for Jake or David but, in general, it feels like there's less to choose from for sure.

  • It's a tough situation. If they keep blinding you every time you pick up, and you can't find them when you patrol the area, you can try to bait them by pretending to pick up, or you can just refuse to pick up. Pretend to walk away and see if someone comes out to do a heal.

  • I agree that, when the game doesn't define what a win or loss is, it's possible for all five players to feel like they lost, which sucks. But my preferred solution would be to shift focus away from winning and losing and instead give people more rewards just for playing the game, so that a match that doesn't go well still feels like it was useful in helping the player work towards unlocking something. I think placing more emphasis on winning and losing is just going to make people more frustrated, rather than less.

  • Anything is an actual fashion thing, if you want it to be.

  • If the question is, "Would combining all of these perks into one create a perk so strong you'd use it in your very best build?" the answer is no, probably not.

  • @JHondo said:

You have to make sure your character is facing where premonition goes off and do the point emote. I stopped what I was doing and pointed every time it went off, a couple times more than once. I probably pointed at the killer 10 times that match and confused the ######### out if my teammates.

Same. Every time Premonition went off, I dropped whatever I was doing and pointed a whole bunch of times, just hoping that two would count by the end of the match, and they did. I have no idea which two.

  • I've had a bug where it happens. If I'm clicking on something when I go to the lobby (e.g., buying stuff in the bloodweb), sometimes when I land there, moving my control stick around rotates the character. I don't know if there's a way to do it on purpose.
