If infinite T3 is toxic, then playing Plague is... Ultra toxic?

While Plague can get a similar effect as infinite EW3 Myers, Survivors can use the fountains to heal and she lacks increased vault speed and increased lunge, those 2 things alone make Myers way more dangerous than Plague while broken, especially the lunge.

  • I play Myers a lot and I do believe he is one of the well balanced Killers but Infinite tier3 Myers is not balanced in the slightlest and is one of the most frustrating things to play against, pink addons can make a regular Killer into something completely unfair. Its very rich for someone using infinite tier3 to call someone else toxic, its like seeing a Iri+belt Huntress calling toxic someone with a purple flashlight.

I mean, yeah. Pretty damn suspicious. My only other thought is some incredibly serious lag switching went on where she hit both survivors in quick succession with haunted and then the server recognised it, downing both and having one be very far away.

It looks more like hacks as a third Survivor goes down 10 seconds after those two, reeks of teleporting and wallhacking from a mile away.

i wouldn't say so, if they're actually good they've earned the right to be a little arrogant, but the majority of cocky players i've seen couldn't loop a killer for 10 seconds much less a entire game

Being good at something doesnt give anyone the right to be arrogant, no amount of skill, money or power gives anyone the right to be a jerk and humilliate others. Being good at something gives you the right to debate stuff, voice your opinions and teach others if you are willing to do it.

    Arrogance begets ignorance.

  • It should, it would be a nice QoL change, you can still tell them in the pregame chat but a lot of people, myself included, dont read it always.

  • They will be gone as a meter for deciding who you match with, they will still be there but with no function, like Devotion levels.

So no more resets on the 13th?

Killers will retain their MMR ranking every month and no rank to climb, correct?

As far as I understand the ranks will still reset but the MMR wont.

  • Ranks will "dissappear" after the MMR update, theyll exist but wont be used for anything related to matchmaking, like Devotion levels right now.

Do you not recognize survivors can use specific perks/offerings/items to counter specific killers as I mentioned 3 times now?

How is it like to ignore reality?

You know Survivors dont even know what Killer they are facing, right?.

Sure there is! Want to dunk on the baby killerino with your 3 other SWF buddies but are afraid he's gonna throw on lightborn and Franklin's because he saw the key and flashlights? Or gasp bring the dreaded EBONY MOMENTO MORI because he saw everyone in P3 Legacy and made the correlation his match is indeed against a Survivor Team Six SWAT Team who are going to sweat their butts off?

Just throw all your meta stuff on one survivor, and queue up in the lobby as default baby dwight. At six seconds, switch. Killer will have no preparation.

    THAT's the issue.

But thats your issue as Killer for believeing one Dwight with base cosmetics is going to be a random newcomer who doesnt even know how to fix a gen, he can be a newcomer or most hardened veteran in existence. Its your fault for missjudging someone only because the cosmetics he is using. If he changes at the last moment you can still burn a Mori with your selected Killer, the lock affects the Killer not offerings, perks or addons.

  • If you main Oni, Hag and Doctor and reach rank1 with them when you decide to try Nurse instead of facing rank1 SWAT squads you are going to face tender Survivors so you dont get demolished in 5 minutes and you are not ok with it because you have to chose before you play?.

Getting Killer locked is a trade off for having easier matches when playing Killers you are not familiar with and Im perfectly fine, I may try to learn Nurse once the MMR gets implemented and fixed (I wouldnt be surprised it works awful at first).

No matter how slow you make it, it'll still be unreactable on any distance lower then 6m which is where he gets most of his hits. Long shots aren't very realiable and are also already reactable so he would never shoot if survivor is more then 10m away due to it beeing too slow thus impossible to hit unless facing very oblivious survivors.

I think that slowdown after faking M2 would be OK change, it helps with the spamming of M2 issue so that would be welcomed. Yet still as a trade off I would suggest to add either increase for MM speed during ADS or your idea to counterweight such nerf.

Thank you for your feedback, I like the change to M2 faking but don't know how well woul work the slowing of projectile. Probably not very much.

Yeah but less than 6m shouldnt be easily dodgeable, he is 110 ms its not that easy to get to that distance in loops, it would be similar to Huntress in the sense that at 6 meters its almost impossible to dodge her in open space but in loops its still manegeable, being easier than Huntress at 6 meters is a trade from being unable to hit past 18 meters like her.

I dont know maybe you are right and it needs to be something else, in any case they can always try internally several options and then chose the one they believe its the better.

  • Lower the speed of the projectile so there is a real chance to dodge it at certain distances and increase the slow down after faking take aim (so he cant fake it to force zigzag while eating your distance for free, same that happens to Huntress) as trade on make him recover faster after a reel hit and a missed shot, this would tie in with a higher number of misses from the slower spear.

Overall he would miss more but the misses would be way less punishing.

  • The idea while good on paper its not that great, if the totem always spawmed near the Killer at the start Survivors would know the general area of the totem and have a very easy time finding it. Its like going straight to check on it right at the start, if a Survivor see the KIller going out of the way to check a random position where there isnt a gen odds are he is checking the totem and giving away its position.

  • I believe it has something to do with people getting hacked and banned for like 3 days straight, when they fix it theyll be back, or so I hope, had 4 dcs in a row today while playing Jigsaw.

  • @goatslinger said:

I have to say I never, ever would have thought people would be complaining about deathslinger being op. It really does show that people just like to complain.

People dont complain Deathslinger is strong, they complain there isnt much you can do against him, the skill the Survivor posseses doesnt really factor a lot while running from him, either he shots and misses or he doesnt and reels you but its not up to the Survivor if he misses or not (unlike Huntress axes which can be dodged by fast reaction players or people capable of baiting a direction).

Like they already said, old Legion wasnt super strong but whoever got find first ended up downed yes or yes, vaults didnt matter, pallets didnt matter, exhaustion perks didnt matter, ending or not in the floor was entirely up to Legion skill and not to a mix of both players skill. The more skilled a Survivor is the harder he should be to catch, right?, old Legion and Deathslinger bypass that and thats exactly what makes them boring to face.

I had a bunch of games in a row where I 4K'd as a Rank 13-15. After those games, I started only going up against red ranks. So essentially, MMR comes into play more than what your actual ranking shows.

Maybe thats a side effect of the new mmr matchmaking they are making, I remember when I played Starcraft 2 if I were to win several games in a row the matchmaking paired me against people who were way way better than me, I literally had 0 chance of beating them, after being mopped by them for several games it would pair me against the exact oposite, people who were super bad.

It usually worked like a rollercoaster for some games and it suddenly went to matching me against people similar to my skill level.

  • If I find him he gets down so his team has to pick him up but I wont camp or tunnel them.

  • Spine Chill helps a lot in this situations. After you throw if the perk has not deactivated she is probably faking phasewalk since going around the loop would force her to move her cone of vision, also if the perk doesnt deactivate you can move slowly out of her cone of vision to see if it goes off, inexperienced Spirits might be tricked into turning slightly to keep an eye on you, youll see her turning slowly. This is not 100% guaranteed to work but it does help a lot.

In my experience the best you can do is trying to reach the next loop walking, if she is faking it she will run and you can start running if she is not, walking wont show her exactly where you are and she will have to take a guess.

  • Keys opens the hatch for 30 of seconds not permanently, after those 30 seconds have elapsed hatch closes again.

I honestly think it needs reworked. Her Mori kill is just boring to me. This is technically why I asked if anyone had significant kills by RBTs. I acknowledge they are more of a time waster for haulting gen work but my personal experiences I saw noone care about them on. Got gens down. Got headgear off. Wasted 4 RBTs. (That's another issue. Trapper has several on the ground to pick up. Huntress has closets. Piggy has a limited amount to carry)

I dunno about anyone else but The Pig doesn't seem like she's worthy of Jigsaw. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

The thing about the traps is they require some finesse (and luck) to shine, also devs are well aware they rarelly kill people and thats intended, they are a time stalling device, Jigsaw is not supposed to get kills with them (which ties into the film since the RBT is the most used trap and the less lethal, its used a total 5 times counting the video game and a short film and only one person dies to it).

    Some tips I can give:

    • Never trap someone if the hook you are going to use is near a Jigsaw box (unless you plan on proxy camp but you shouldnt camp), when they are unhooked they will go for the box asap, which may or not may be the right one but it will save him time from running towards a box, try to use them on hooks that are far away from boxes.
    • Traps work very well when there are 2 or more Survivors trapped as they may obstruct eachother from boxes, Ive seen 1 guy attempting to get rid of the hat and a second one standing there waiting for the first one to finish with the box, start using them once you have 2 or more Survivors hurt so you can get several downs very fast or during Exposed status timers (Haunted Grounds/Make Your Choice).
    • If the gens are going solid you should patrol boxes too, even if you dont hook the trapped people, scaring them away will force them to come back and start again, if you down them someone will have to come and pick him up.
    • People searching boxes are very loud and usually distracted from their sorroundings, they are a very easy target for an ambush attack.

Best addons in my experience are the ones which increase the number of boxes even if they make the trap go slower and the ones that make searching slower or trap ticking faster. The exhausted addon is decent if you are planning for box patrolling as it disables exhaustion perks.

As for RBT stalling potential, last game I played against Jigsaw I was trapped twice, first one I had to search 5 boxes, second trap I had to search 3, It took me 2 minutes and a half to get rid of the first one. I did escape but I didnt spend on gens more than maybe 30 seconds in total, all I did that game was trying to get my trap off, unhooking 2 peeps and escaping the 2 times I got down (Killer played very bad, had a poor perk selection in my opinion and her second addon wasnt good for the playstyle she chose, she did hook us wisely tho).

  • When I play Jigsaw I rarely get kills with the hats but Ive never seen them as a mean for kills but to stall gen progression by having people searching boxes. I do get a lot of yoinks from gens with her.

Actually if I get a kill from a hat the first thing I think is "wow that guy must be a rank 15 or lower".

I've seen this in other multiplayer games, but what do developers do during weekly scheduled maintenance. Is it just improvements to the server and code?

They replace the Spectrum that got splashed with coffee 3 months ago.

Probably tinkered with the code and added security stuff to avoid more hackings.

  • 99% of the comunity didnt agree Hillbilly was perfectly fine and "the most balanced Killer EVER", there were a lot of threads and posts of people (myself included) saying his ability to sprint all day long and spaming his power with minimal drawbacks (a minimum stun after bumping) was over the top and he had this coming.

On another note, BHVR can say one thing and then, after months have passed, examine more data and change their opinion, when I started playing I tought old Freddy was superbroken and massively OP because I couldnt see him coming, after some months I changed my mind and saw him as not very good Killer, opinions can change over time.

  • Deja Vu is a perk suited for newcomers, once you start to know how gen spawns Deja Vu is not needed.

  • I would add this:

    • Perk rarity and cost homogenization so all perks cost the same and have the same rarity, no more collages of yellow, green and purple perks, this would also order them alphabetically since right now the game groups them by rarity and then orders them by letter, much easier to find them.
    • Perk and add-on loadouts, especially for Killer as you can use different Survivors as loadouts for different playstyles.
    • Struggle mechanic changed or completely removed.
    • Option for people to DC AFTER someone else has DCed, if Survivors DC after the first one Killer gets to keep his addons, if Killer DCs Survivors get to keep addons too (only if Killer DCs).
    • Option to destroy (or refund but I could settle for destroy) unwanted offerings, I dont wanna have my offering inventory cluttered with tokens for The Game or Hawkins or Clear Reagent (as Survivor) or Red Forest or Murky Reagent (as Killer) or Midwich as both.

I believe all of this can help reducing the non interactive frustrating aspects of the game.

  • It would be awesome, its probably a licensed song and hard/expensive to get but they could do their own thing to avoid legal hassle.

  • I always go into the locker once he reaches EW3, once as the last Survivor the guy tried to bait me after pulling me out smacking the Exit Doors switch then dropping me off, I ran straight towards the locker again. He was reaaaaaaaaaally mad in the post chat screen, the other Survivors were laughing their backs off.

  • Better fix, for every OoO user 4 Survivors start on the hook.

nope. there's a build that let's you teleport whenever. need to check again what it was

Yes the Mint Rag but its an ultra rare, while the Deathslinger can play like I said without the need to equip any addon at all, just M&A and even without M&A is still very easy for him to camp hooks hidden. You are comparing an ultra rare addon to a Killer base kit to claim one is campier than the other.

there also isn't much survivors can do when hag teleports to them during the unhooking animation, or when nurse blinks through through the floor during it or... I don't see your point.

As stated, it all sounds like a different flavor of people complaining their victory isn't handed to them upon matchstart (something you get from everyone, survivors and killers alike)

You have to activate the trap for her to be able to teleport to it which can be avoided by crouching or using a flashlight, you do that and she cant use her power to protect the hook, there is not much counterplay you can do against a M&A Deathslinger at 17 meters.

The other Killers? I have not mentioned them so I dont see why are you bringing them to my argument.

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1443644#Comment_1443644

Hag has a build that allows teleporting from all across the map without the traps triggering visually iirc... (i think such builds exist for all teleport killers) how is Deathslinger more camping than 'the whole map's my campground'?

Because she cant teleport from all the map "only" 40 meters and there is certain counterplay to their traps, you can destroy them with flashlights or crouch to avoid trigger them, especially with Urban Evasion.

A hidden Deathslinger with M&A can stay on range of shooting the unhooker while leaving his Terror Radius out of range, also there isnt much Survivors can do when the harpoon is flying towards them during the unhook animation.

  • You really have to give them kudos from devising a Killer campier than Hag.

  • Exploiting a glitch is a bannable offense, no mather how trivial it is, that being said since it really doesnt benefit the player in any way they may choose to not ban people, they have the choice to do tho.

P.D. I do not advise in any form to try or do this, even if they were to be lenient you are exposing yourself to a severe punishment.

  • Dont do it then, I rarely slug anyone unless I had a visual confirmation to the last Survivor whereabouts when I down the other guy, like seeing him in the distance or scratchmarks or a failed skillcheck.

If the last guy gets the hatch first or he opens the door after I close it so be it, its not the end of the world.

  • As Survivor several Killers complimenting on my stealth skills (not the inmersed on a corner useless Claudette meme but in a +22k points never seen once by the Killer fixed 3 gens, unhooked 4 guys) the comment I liked the most was "Didnt know there was a Jeff until I saw him exiting the gates at the end and he is second in points too".

As Killer some Survivors saying I had put them in a whole lot of tension as Myers (I play him very stealthy too) and the usual "thanks for hatch/farm" stuff if someone DCs or I think the last one is worthy of surviving or if I notice the skill disparity is MASSIVE.

  • Like I said, depends on the %, if its too high you might risk a chase and let Ruin regress it faster (though it will probably get finished by anyone else before you end it) if its low you will have time to check on it since you have only 3 or 4 gens to patrol and someone still has to go for the unhook, putting 2 Survivors out of gen working.

  • Even if they could use it as a basis to treat it like a non licensed character I doubt BHVR would be willing to risk being sued by breach of contract, once you get tangled in legal trouble even if you win you still lose.

  • @xenofon13 said:

"Rank 1 killers" flexing with screenshots šŸ˜‚

Yeah, so hard to reach rank 1 killer and survivor. Gongrats.

Nah its mostly because of the "If you dont agree you dont play killer or you play a green rank", if he werent to post that sentence people (myself included) wouldnt be posting pictures of our ranks.

  • I play Solo queue, half the games is like playing with bots.

  • Wraith and Huntress already have decent downsides for their powers, one being unable to interact while using it the other having 110% speed, slow wind up time, delay between shots and the need to reload from lockers. Hillbilly downside was the bumping time which was a joke, any distance the survivor could get was instantly cut short by sprinting again.

They might get addon reworks but I doubt theyll touch their powers.

  • Im rank1 Killer and play both roles, gen times are ok, the only thing I believe needs a change are some map layouts where gens spawn in the outer rings, especially on Mother's Dwelling and Rotten Fields, I got 3k and 4k regularly.

But if you have ruin, especially with surveillance, the information you get later from it is worth taking a chase. Especially when it's a single chase because if you can grab them you can hit them.

Still, if the gen is at like 40% picking someone up can save you a ton of time, the gen stays at 40% and it still will take 45 seconds to a single Survivor to fix it, more than enough time to check on it and chase them away, on the other part now they have to unhook someone and heal him which takes more than 45 seconds. Even with the first free hit an injured Survivor can loop a Killer for a lot of time if you are not very good and the tiles benefit him.

The information Surveillance gives doesnt really matter in this situation, you picked someone near a gen and you are going to hook him near said gen, the very moment someone gets close to it they will first unhook, giving you the information someone is there, noone is going to fix a 50% progressed gen before an unhook.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1436898#Comment_1436898

But man, the gen doesn't regress and you can't make it regress by doing so. You cock yourself especially if the gen is almost done.

Yes that why I put "unless its almost complete".

  • Actually is better to grab people out of a gen unless its almost complete since you are bypassing a chase that can last several minutes.

  • Nah I think the root to toxicity is how appealing this game is to the Spike archetype of gamer (for clarification, there are several archetypes of gamers devised by the guys who created Magic The Gathering card game, you can look them up).

Spikes are very sore losers and tend to blame everything else but themselves, one of their defining attributes is "If Spike plays several games and loses only one, but feels they should have won it, they may be malcontent", pair that with the absurd "Only 4k is a win" and "Only me escaping is a win" mantras and you have a recipe for disaster and frustration, frustrated people tend to vent by lashing on others (being toxic).

  • Autodidact is a beast when you get 5 stacks, which is not guaranteed. Its somewhat similar to a Hex perk, when it works its super powerful, when it doesnt is a wasted slot. Also is extremely good against Sloppy Butcher+Thanato, it completely bypasses those 2 perks.

I think the perk could get a QoL buff by storing the skill check bonus progression when you heal dying Survivors, for example you have 5 stacks and healing someone dying, get skillcheck at 80% you hit it, finish healing dying and puts him to 25% of injured, right now that 25% gets lost (5 stacks gives a 45% progression), it would be a decent buff since picking people from the ground with 5 stacks of Autodidact is not very common, Ive running it a lot lately and this situation could have happen 5 times in total.

  • I believe some people feel cheated out of their victory when people run strong perks.

    This applies for both sides.

  • I actually think Myers is one of the most well rounded and balanced Killers in the game. He takes practice to learn and while his perks are good (not meta, just good) they dont fit his playstyle very well.

Im rank1 Myers and I can regularly get 4k and 3k (more than 0k, 1k and 2k combined) against Solos, SWFs and even sweat squads.

How do you know if they were that bad or not. Is not like I'm like Federer* on this game or something.

While the system is not perfect points can tell how well Survivors performed overall and also you take other factors like number of hits, number of saves, number of gens done etc.

Getting 4k in 2 minutes with only 4 hooks usually tells the Killer is way way better than the Survivors, same as Survivors completing the gens in 5 minutes and getting out without anyone getting hooked, they are way better than the Killer, they shouldnt pip either as they just steamrolled someone who wasnt up to the task.

1 … 49 50 51 52 53 … 59
