  • A lot of things, for starters her power gives her massive map pressure, allows her to proxy camp, if using Stridor is impossible to counterplay, can be used to down people easily, also she is short (especially with cosmetics that change her hairstyle) and has a 24 meter Terror Radius.

Her only drawback is she moves at 110% which is not a big deal as phasewalking makes up for her slower speed in chases.

  • Using things like EW3, chainsaw or killing someone with a RBT should award extra BPs, downing with a chainsaw/EW3/etc should give as much BPs as getting 2 hits and the RBT should give the remaining hook states points so you dont lose points for bypassing actions because your power allows it.

For perks is another matter as someone said, you are using a perk not a power, perks dont give points unless is stated on them like BBQ or Thrill of the Hunt.

    @Eleghost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/187617/should-chainsaw-exposed-hits-reward-extra

For chainsaw i would say yes because it is a power ability that does it, for the survivor just being exposed, no because it's just you using your perk. Myers really needs the 500 extra points from exposed. you can double pip as myers and get under 20k points maybe under 15k.

But piping and getting points are different things, some stuff that gives points does help getting better emblems but other point related things do not. What I mean is, giving Myers more points wont make him pip faster and changing the pip system for him wont give him more BPs either.

you noticed killer is only one but survivors are 4 right? imagine 4 having 4 iri head add on power similar.

You noticed my first sentence is "You are right we have to take on account 4 people using syringes"?

  • The only redeeming thing Hawkins and Lery have is they are not Midwich.

  • @Maperson said:

Freddy has counters.. you can destroy Hags power with flashlight..

Yeah but you need a Flashlight which are not always present or brought into a trial, also Flashlights have a limited amount of use, I have loaded into a trial with one against Hag and I ran out of batteries before she ran out of traps, hence why he put her in "a little counterplay".

  • Actually he can hit Tier3 a set amount of times, which is the amount of stalking Survivors have on them, once they are drained you cant get to EW3 again.

In a perfect efficiently done playthrough Myers can EW3 7 times, usually thats very hard and its not needed either, games dont last that long.

  • I play stealth Killers a lot, especially Myers with M&A and Jigsaw, while Spine Chill is a pain to deal with you can avoid it by not looking at what you wanna reach, for example you want to go to a generator?, get close to it while not looking at it, Spine Chill wont activate at all and usually Survivors running tend to pay less attention to their sorroundings so they wont notice you getting close either.

  • I believe DS is overall more useful as a lot of people tunnel, especially if they see no obssesion, Inner Strength is good for solo players but its more situational and is a bit worse the more people running it (4 players with Inner Strength will make them all go for totems, leaving you with fewer totems).

Okay you’re delusional as you did argue it as you compared it to other ultra rares, not wasting my time trying to reason with you further with this unreasonable mentality you have to not understand what I’m trying to say, I’m just gonna ignore this thread.

I did compare one ultra rare to 3 good ultra rares and said "this one is not as great as others, could we lower its price?" your point was "those are fine or being changed and syringes dont need buffs".

  • @Lazerboy88 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1585628#Comment_1585628

You only counter one argument and there was no us vs them, im just saying you are comparison is poor because 2/3 of the add ons you compared it too are most likely being changed and then the third isn’t really that special but you know ignore the tuft of hair, what about the other two? They are being changed. The syringe is in a fine spot atm and can be used to extend a chase even longer! Which can really hurt the killer, survivor ultra rares should be strong but they are not ment to be compared to killers.

EDIT as for the price reduction, 1000bp? Really? Doesn’t make much a difference and just sounds pointless

You didnt counter my point either, my point was "This Ultra rare is not that great to be worth 7000 BPs, can we lower it a bit?" the comparison was to show ultrarares that are good and what a 7000 BPs item should be, I didnt even call for a buff as I already said "4 people can have syringes".

You just came, wrote some things about those addons being perfectly fine (which I didnt put in doubt as I didnt ask for any nerf) or being supposedly changed in a future and that has nothing to do about a sugestion of lowering the cost, I dont see why I have to counter some arguments that have NOTHING to do with what I posted or is being discussed in the thread. Cant we have a discussion about one subject in this forum without the mains coming to derail threads?.

Also, oranges are better than apples, now you have to counter my argument about fruits too even if it has nothing to do with DBD.

  • I would wait until the chapter is released and see how rushed the new Killer and Survivor feel, one of the things that makes me believe PH was released as a last minute change is how rushed the whole SH chapter felt with a Killer that needed a change after one month, a poorly designed map with several huge bugs (like Hatch spawming behind impassable barriers) and a bunch of useless perks.

The Auric Cells thing in the store does raise some questions.

  • Some pools are so small they are impossible to see, sometimes you can notice them if there is some barbed wire near but sometimes its obscured by grass so you cant see the pool in the ground nor the debris around an almost non existant pool.

  • Small Game tells you the general area of a totem in a tile and once you have enough experience you will know where the totem spawmed in said tile so it really doesnt need to show auras, its a perk thats better once you have enough time in the game.

  • @Lazerboy88 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1585577#Comment_1585577

Except two of those add ons are expected to be changed in the future.. iri head is definitely getting changed when huntresses add on pass comes by and not too crazy to think that red head would be next, and Tuft of hair is fine and has counterplay not really op.

Here we go again with "its fine, it has counterplay etc" Im not criticizing those addons or their strength nor asking for nerfs nor claming they are broken or OP or anything at all. Im just comparing a 7k BP addon to others and asking for a price reduction since one of those is lackluster and not deserves to be priced at 7k (nor the rainbow map, or the BNP or several other pink Killer add-ons which should have a reduced price too).

Cant we have a discussion without people flocking with the "US VS THEM!!" mentality?.

  • Its very situational, BNPs can be used to get rid of one very bad positioned generator like the mid gen in a 3gen position or one gen in a dead zone with no pallets and almost no windows.

Overall Syringes are more versatile but BNPs have potential to have a bigger impact in the result of a game.

  • @Primalux135 said:

No thanks you need to think about 4 person having it. Devs didnt do it and so one team with old version of brand new part could finish game easy.

You are right we have to take on account 4 people using syringes but also take on account this is a pink add-on and compare it to other pink stuff like Iridiscent head, Fragant tuft of hair and Redhead's pinky finger. Syringes do not have to be as strong as other pink stuff since you can have 4 people using them but they still cost 7k and they are not that good for such BP cost.

I think they should be lowered to 6000 BPs.

The Ebony Mori is actually the most common Mori. I have so many more Ebony Moris than Cypress or Ivory Moris.

Yeah, green ones have to compete on the web with multiple green addons, map and bloodpoint offerings while the Ebony competes only against 2 ultra-rare add-ons, the chance of getting them is quite high.

  • Scott Jund, he is the one who seems to understand the game better than anyone else for both sides and I rarely see him ranting the way others do. That being said, I rarely see DBD youtubers/streamers unless Im at work (I have a work where I can be 6 hours without anything to do so sometimes I pick my phone and watch youtube).

But... the best killer in the game is the Nurse and she's totally free? And so is Huntress, who has been consistently among the top ranks of killers? Pay 2 Win... sheesh.

I think they buffed Freddy because old Freddy (as much as I loved him) had some cartoonishly big weaknesses.

Nurse and Huntress require huge amounts of skill, especially Nurse, Freddy is braindead. Of the top 5 Killers he is by far the easiest to play, by a huge margin, one of the biggest things p2w offers is its easiness to use, noone wants to pay dosh to get something complicated, even if its very strong.

And yes, they buffed him because he was quite bad but they buffed him way too much. As people said, huge map control, inbuilt gen slowdown, anti loop tools (ones that dont even slow him unlike Hag or Trapper), a teleport that can be used to end chases (if the Survivor runs near a gen you can teleport to it to cut distance, if he backs down you cancel it), inbuilt counter to Terror Radius related perks, one of the best stealths in the game as he will see you well before you see him as he is invisible from 32 meters away (you can see Wraith glimmering around and Spirit cant see you while stealthed) etc, he just has too much going on for him with not a single drawback, hell even the alarm clock mechanic is a better stalling tool that Jigsaw traps, they make Survivors waste more time than any RBT and thats Jigsaw main power, thats why almost noone goes for alarm clocks unless they happen to pass by after doing a gen or saving someone.

  • @gibblywibblywoo said:

If slowdown Freddy weren't a thing I'd agree. The problem with the slowdown perks/add on is that they combine with the "map pressure for nothing" aspect of his power to create a truly tedious killer than any caveman can 4K with.

I think he was overbuffed as a "we the license owners want this guy to sell a lot since he was crap nobody bought" so they made him the pay2win Killer in the game.

Yes It does cause they can do her map traversal better and in less set up time.

While other Killers can traverse the map better than her she can traverse the map when it counts, when people steps on a trap. Her skill acts as map traversal and detection at the same time, thats why is weaker than Hillbilly or Nurse map traversals, you must place traps in not so obvious places for her to work, if you put them where everyone expects them they will crouch over them.

Also she has very small and has 24 meter TR radius, with M&A its only 16, Hag is very stealth when approaching unsuspecting Survivors.

  • Long time ago I got bodyblocked by 2 guys while carrying a Survivor I just downed with EW3. It was a fast game.

  • Im very tired of the following

    • "US VS THEM" threads: They add nothing but toxicity and breed bad blood between players.
    • "Im done with this game" threads: Ok, if you dont like the game anymore you are free to quit but encouraging others to do it or announcing it to people who dont really care much its just craving attention and cluttering the forum with spam.
    • "Playing X feels so miserable and it makes me cry" threads: If a game makes you feel miserable its on you, not the game, also we are not your personal psychiatrist, either grow up some skin or go play another game with higher instant-reward schemes.
    • "Devs are trash and a bunch of morons" threads: Yeah, they mess up, a lot, sometimes they do stuff that makes no sense at all and some bugs can be outrageous and need fixing, Im sure insulting people goes a long way helping them with that (protip: it does not) and Im sure you love getting insulted everytime you make any kind of mistake.
    • "Hehehe, toxic [insert role] mains, am I right?, they did this thing and I did this other thing to punish them" threads: Yeah yeah, you found a Killer who was a jerk or a mean SWF and now you want to vent your frustration because you got smashed, or wanna brag how badly you disciplined that unruly player but threads like this only help to breed more animosity.
    • Rant threads about imbalances, especially when they are paired with outrageous sugestions, you are just showing your lack of knowledge about this game and lack of big picture vision, some changes are focused against very definite situations that if they were to be implemented would completely break the game in any other areas, like people suggestion having only 1 Exit Door, or Hexes giving part of their power after cleansing (always the strong stuff like Devour Hope giving exposed even after cleansing).
    • Threads promoting or celebrating streamers in bootlicking ways, in this forum they are not that prevalent but Reddit is infested with posters infatuated with streamers, an infatuation that is almost unhealthy. Im also against threads bashing streamers for no valid reason too.

    And thats pretty much it.

  • I believe PC Killers are better than console since keyboard+mouse makes it way easier to play and allow for higher skill ceiling, especially 2 of the strongest Killers, Nurse and Huntress.

On Survivors, I believe console and PC are rather similar in skill, I believe their main diference is console Survivors are used to face easier Killers so their meta and gamestyle is less effective, they are cockier and bolder which makes them more prone to mistakes. The first days of crossplay there wasnt not a single console Survivor without Self-care, even in builds where it didnt make any sense to bring it, they t-bagged a lot more, they were riskier with unhooks, attempting to 360 and tried a lot of stuff that doesnt work very well against PC players. Also they have been adapting and I see less and less of said behaviours.

  • A 39% chance of 1 person escaping the hook at the cost of bypassing a thid of your objectives since the ones who dont get kobe will go into struggle stage directly.

You are trying to sell the self unhook mechanic as something that hurts Killers when 61% of the times it actually helps them.

Most people don't know how to ACTUALLY play her. Streamers included.

I agree, I play Jigsaw a lot and when I read some complains like "RBTs are crap they never kill people" I cant help it but facepalm hard. She is very RNG dependant tho, bad RNG and you got a problem, good RNG and Survivors got a problem, decent RNG its a fair match.

  • What I understand from his tweet is the hackers were freezing the games he joined so he had to Disconect hence the game giving him a penalty, if its the case its a whole different problem than hacking the system and giving a 72 hour penalty like they did to True.

  • Devs should try to reduce the grinding in the Bloodweb, not increase it.

Every perk seems bad in comparison to perks that give basically what amounts to hookstates. Survivorperks are ridiculously OP considering there's 16 of them total in a team vs the 4 killerperks. I mean what comes close to DS? Haunted Grounds? NOED? an Unfound Devour Hope?

We are discussing why Survivor meta is stale and how it could be changed, please dont bring the usual "KILLER VS SURVIVORS" argument, we are not discussing Killers in this thread.

  • You pretty much nailed everything, one of the biggest problems Survivors have with perks is most of them are very bad or too situational.

The last meta perk Survivors got is Dead Hard from Chapter 5 and we are at Chapter 17, sure there were some decent perks like Inner Strength or Deliverance but they are not good enough to displace the meta perks.

Tunneling being a massive advantage for the Killer makes DS very powerful which in turn makes slugging more prevalent which in turns makes Unbreakable also very powerful, its a vicious circle.

Then they shouldn't have chosen that design as the winner if they planned on changing several details of it. Just pick a design that better fits the character.

As for Jeff, he already has a fancy suit, just no necktie or clean shaven face, but his beard is trimmed on that outfit.

Yeah, they shouldnt have picked that one as winner.

And Jeff fancy suit is just him wearing a blazer over a tacky red shirt, thats a long way from a proper bussiness suit, the ones lawyers, shareholders, CEOs and the kind wear to important meetings or when conducting business, also the beard is trimmed but the long hair remains, its not the same as suddenly having a cosmetic where Jeff appears like this.

Well, that's definitely not the answer I was expecting and also blows my intended argument out of the water. With that said, I'm curious: do you think "fun" should be the main factor when deciding how to change the game?

Yes, it should, its a game and games should be fun first of all things. You cant please everyone obviusly, fun is subjective but in my opinion people who demand to get 4K always or to escape always should be ignored entirely while discussing balance issues, its not the game what is wrong, its their sense of fun.

In my experience from friends, family, online interactions etc most people enjoy winning a fair challenge and hate losing to cheesy tactics, thats why things like Moris and Keys are so widely hated (especially Moris) they give a free win with very low effort and a very high reward. Thats also why Spirit and Freddy are so hated yet God-Nurses or super good Trappers are not, the first are braindead, the second require inmense amount of skill and insight to pull stuff, same goes with things like old Adrenaline genrush and old MoM. They should aim to give everyone a fair chance to at least get 2 kills and 2 escapes IN EQUAL SKILL (a lot of trouble also comes from average players paired against gods, the game may be perfectly balanced but if someone is way way better than you... he will win, you will lose and we all have to be aware when we are getting outplayed instead of cheesed).

On a sidenote, I usually play Myers and Jigsaw, 2 of the weakest Killers according to the community with numerous posts crying how bad their basekits are (I disagree, its the maps whats wrong, not their basekits, they could use some QoL changes to make them less clunky and more consistent tho), I tried Spirit when her tome got out, I found her so mindlessly boring I dropped her entirely once I got all challenges and her related achievements, I dont like my wins to be spoonfed.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1569557#Comment_1569557

Do you think it's fun for killers to have their characters nerfed?

It depends, fun is very subjective. I used to play old Doctor I found him fun even if he was not a very strong Killer when they buffed him and made him stronger it lost all his appeal to me. If they were to revert all his changes it would be a huge nerf and I would enjoy playing Doctor again.

Some people enjoy stomping without any kind of oposition, some people enjoy having tougher challenges, so yes, some may enjoy having nerfs, this obviusly applies to Survivors, some will enjoy a harder challenge, others will want to escape without breaking a sweat.

  • It used to go down while running and stop while chased like you say, then Killers learned to moonwalk to put you out of chase and follow you around until you went into dying status, there are videos about it in Youtube you can check.

Mend is not supposed to down people, its supposed to stall the game a bit when used by The Legion, if you Deep Wound 3 or 4 Survivors you force them to stop fixing gens by 12 seconds, it might seem a very small time but a Legion that keeps on wounding can prolong a trial A LOT, paired with Ruin can be devastating if the totem stands for 1 or 2 minutes.

When used by the Survivors (Burrowed Time and Styptic Agent) its supposed to force you to stop and take a breather after escaping a highly dangerous situation.

When used by the Deathslinger I dont really know what it is suposed to do, the whole Killer and his power is a mess so maybe they just added the Deep Wound because why not.

I think it's just a shock as the Feng and Clown skins were hardly changed at all from their original concept art.

Because Feng and Clown skins do fit their characters, especially the Clown's one, this one does not fit Claudette at all, she is supposed to be an introverted, bookish, loner nerd. I could see Nea or maybe Kate wearing something like this but not Claudette. The designer did a good artistic job but she/he didnt understand Claudette character at all.

For me it would be like giving Jeff an expensive bussiness suit with a necktie and clean shave.

  • I like BHVR version better, it fits Claudette character way more than the original design, especially the thong showing thing.

Could at least spend that time and take out extra struggling points. You might even get unhooked in process and nobody knows what may happen next. By suiciding you don't give any chances for any miracles to happen.

You get more points by letting Struggle off and searching for a new game than farming measly ~800 Survival points.

Also if your teammates let you go into Struggle without a valid reason (Killer camping, finishing the last gen, opening the gates, cleansing Devour etc) if you get saved odds is the Killer will be near the hook very soon because he knows once the Survivor realize noone went for the save they all go for it and flock the hook, leading the Killer to find the entire team in one point. What Im trying to say if you get into Struggle without a valid reason odds are you are going to die real soon anyway.

But those perks still exist and still do what they originally sought out to do even if it isn't as effective.

Remember me still delays the gates opening, bloodwarden still blocks the exit, wake up still increases the speed of opening exit gates.

Because its easier to make them useless than to rework them alltogether, this way they get rid of something they dont want with minimal effort.

  • @ermsy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1563834#Comment_1563834

It still proves my point, regardless of how strong they were on Freddy or how weak they are now. They still exist and that there was an attempt to use the gates as a form of pressure.

They even nerfed remember me instead of reworking it so they still want gate pressure in the game even if it is quite weak.

It proves they WANTED pressure on the doors but they dont want it anymore.

Remember me got nerfed because how interacted with the new Hatch closing mechanic not with the 5gen Exit Gate opening. With new version its very hard to open the doors once the hatch closed, with the older version it would be impossible.

  • @OGlilSPOOK20 said:

    Agreed! No argument here.

I despise people 99ing doors. Just open the darn doors.

I can't explain how many times I got killed because of others 99ing doors and not being at the doors to open them.

Adding regression to a door would be good and make these idiots open the doors more.

Stop trying to make the game an extra 10mins because you wanna save your friend.

Also who cares if the killer has Bloodwarden... It last literally 60secs. Plus there's a very low chance every killer you play will actually have the perk people!

10 minutes to sacrifice someone on hook? your Entity must be the laziest one ever.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1563757#Comment_1563757

If I shouldn't be worried about the gates then why are there perks that directly affect the gates? I think gates are redundant in their current state which is why I'd want the change so that they can be pressured.

I love how you assume why I want pressure. Pressuring one survivor is pressuring that one survivor, it doesn't stop the other gens from being done. You need to actively switch targets by defending gens but this is not the point of this discussion.

You are right, exit gates take mere seconds to open and the survivors final barrier to survive now takes a millisecond to overcome and yes my only option is to try to get the survivor on hook and keep them there as going to the gate is not a viable option.

My question to you is why is it such a big deal to you? If a gate takes 4 seconds to open after regression instead of a millisecond, would that break the game?

Because they were created for old Freddy, a Killer who was inmensely strong once the 5 gens were done since you opened doors 50% slower while asleep and once all 4 Survivors were sleep and gens done there was no way to wake up, only while selfhealing or healing others. A build with Remember Me, Fire Up, NOED and Blood Warden with 4 people slept was super strong if you managed to pull it as people had more trouble opening the door than finishing the gens.

Freddy got changed so that build and perks lost a lot of appeal and potential.

  • Sly, very sly. I noticed I did not progress as much as the Tome 3 but I tought it was just because I played less games.

May be crazy, but I don't mind haddonfield that much. Midwich, ormond, and badham on the other had, those can eff right off.

As for the op, I love this idea, the dev's would be able to see which maps get the most overall hate.

I dont hate Ormond or Haddonfield either as Killer but I know a ton people do, Haddonfield is not THAT bad if you play stealth and protect the indoor gens as Survivors cant see you coming until you are very close and Ormond is easily 3 geneable as it usually has at least 3 openings for it.

  • I think they should implement a map ban system, even if it doesnt work only to gather info and learn how much the comunity hates certain maps like Midwich, Ormond, Haddonfield, Hawkins and The Game. This game has some maps that really make you wanna ragequit just at the start.

  • I like the fact that Badham is a darker map, right now is way too luminous, makes it very hard to stealth around.

  • @bingbongboi90 said:

Maybe if behaviour bans Everyone that uses that cheat or fix that cheat to see which killer they are facing.

    Otherwise no.

Even with that, Oni would face a full team of one hit people and he still could get his power by hitting them. Since half of his power is downing people with one hit he would only miss on the speed buff, Oni would probably devastate a team with 4 No Mithers anyway, even good streamers die when they go 4 No Mither+Sabo builds.

That being said, I wouldnt change No Mither interaction with Oni, the perk is usually a death sentence for the user and the whole team anyway, Oni or no Oni.

I Have around 6 thousand hours on ps4 compared to just 600 on pc from before it was on console. To throw all that away would be such a punch in the gut for me even if my current pc can run the game ten times better than my old one.

From what I've heard the devs definitely want to do cross progression, it depends if Sony and Microsoft allow it for them and from I understand Sony can be really funny with this sort of thing

I may be wrong, but cross progression is not something they need Sony or Microsoft approval, as they would only need to copy your PSX/XBOX data from their database and give you an account with the same stuff on PC.

It would something like this "Hey I have all this stuff in this platform, can you copy it to my PC account?".

1 … 46 47 48 49 50 … 59
