Back before the hatch was added survivors could hide forever and hold the game hostage. Then after that you had the hatch standoff.
You think you want that but you don't.

Posts like this should start with "I just got beat really bad so I'm here now"
My teams got 5 genned by 2 separate legions yesterday, if I don't let the forums know about this injustice how will I ever see my generators light up in peace?
(Actual real side note. If we're facing legion you know he has discordance. Let me work on my gen alone kthx)

The Game is the worst ######### map, both killer and survivior, cOrN is terrible too, but at least its survivior sided, I just hate The Game.
Add fields of corn to the game map
-
Mite b cool. You know I always thought that map could be cool with environmental hazards that injured (not downed from injured) if they walked into certain areas.
(Like, trapped lockers with spikes on the inside, or doorways and windows with saw blades)
Dunno how you'd balance that but it would be neat.
-
I play both sides. I usually play survivor but I'll pop over to killer for tome challenges since their path is usually much easier or if I'm bored.
Queue times for survivor and killer are both about one minute, but most killers are rank 12 or so while the survivors are red.
Whazzup wit dat.
-
I'd rather have noed over old ruin because it was guaranteed you'd get more objective points and by the end I don't really care if my survivor dies or not unless I'm doing an escape quest.
...but you have to have seen it yourself. When a killer runs noed he's usually a poor player. Stereotypes exist for a reason.
-
Seconding the wait by the exit gate strat, especially in levels that are buildings or ones that don't have clear line of sight often.
Wake up is amazing for that too but I've never needed it.
-
You should be able to charge your credit card like a dollar irl to make the Demogorgon shoot out a laser beam that instantly downs a random survivor.
-
Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde.
Like, imagine doing a generator with a fellow survivor and he just flips out and slams you on a hook.
Breh.
-
Ok?
-
Pig can be right click to win, do you think survivors hesitate to pop gens due to rbts?
Not only do they potentially take a few tries to remove, they force you to go to places that are very open (and you're probably already injured).
Pig is the paypig. Its played by the same kind of people that like rng lootboxes or people that spend hundreds of dollars on Korean skinnerbox mmos.
Tl:dr sure make them go off randomly in matches. Yo dawg I heard you like rng, let me put more rng in your rng so you can rng while you rng.
-
Solo survivor here, died every match tonight. Pig right clicked to win, legions winning with 5 gens up. Pipped, but no escapes. Felt pretty bad. Fite me.
Edit: 1 minute queue times.
-
Lately I've been running object of opportunity, alert, borrowed and self care. Lets me make informed choices.
Dead hard and decisive etc would be cool but you never know what pallets your team dropped already etc.
-
The game is entity sided.
-
Sometimes a good strategy is to unhook someone, instantly self care for 2 seconds, go over to heal them, miss, self care for another second, then finally heal them.
Ez game.
-
I use it, but I pair it with aggressive play. If I know they have nurses ill do it at loops to taunt them into chasing me. It is used too defensively sometimes I think though.
-
On top of having a large amount of hearing loss and no directional hearing, I usually play music while I play dbd. It helps me focus on great skill checks.
It might be a case of since I never had it I don't know what I'm missing, but sound seems pretty overrated in general. Once you have the game sense you get after playing for a while you kinda have a general idea of what everyone is going to do.

I can’t even understand what you tried to say there.
Interesting. Confirmation bias is self explanatory.
They'll (the killer) will lose all of their gens in a killer game. This will confirm previously held bias. The gens are done. One or more survivors may or may not escape.
The players won't play survivor and experience the frequent games where you're the last survivor standing and your options are either escape via hatch or get hooked.
I hope that made it simple enough to understand.
-
Confirmation bias. They'll lose all their gens in a killer game but won't hop over to survivor to see all the hatch or hook games.
-
I'm a fan of decisive, dead hard, no mither and tenacity.
-
The only thing about stealth is if you're successfully evading the killer, the killer is probably hammering on your teammates and bringing them close to elimination.
Purposely trying to get the killers attention when the other survivors are one hook away from sacrifice and not being noticed is a feels bad moment.
-
That doesn't seem so bad. They changed the level 4 last time before actual playtime though didn't they?
-
Those are both good picks. Have lots of fun!

What is DDos?
Direct denial of service. Basically a network of false pings from his system made it so he couldn't get online.
It's not terribly hard to do, but it is pretty annoying.
-
I play both sides. Have been rank 1 in the past, just stopping by nowadays for those sweet juicy tomes.
I consider myself a bad player on both sides, but I play well enough to get survivor and master challenges fairly easily.
From killers I expect most of them to do what they saw on YouTube. Its actually the killers that just commit and walk forward that trip me up. I expect the killer to try to mindgame. I never see that clothesline coming.
For other survivors I expect a degree of boldness. When I see survivors just playing cards in the corner through auras it makes me sad inside.

Trapper needs pyro from tf2 cosmetics. 💄
-
Not gonna lie part of me wants to buy Dwights gas station jockey suit and be a total memelord and do the autohaven gen then just sit behind the counter or crouch near the gas stations to act like I'm working until the entity kills me at the end of the match.

I did it ;) i had taken the pic from xbox app so it wasn't in correct format. But I posted it now. Sorry about blank msg.
Yaaaaaaaaaaay A+

Tbh I think we remember bad events more than good ones. Like I can have 20 fun games in a row but I'll get one game and I want to toss my computer out the window. That's the one I'll remember.
I wouldn't recommend making your steam profile public, only MacMillan tier salt miners would do such a thing, but there are some pretty cool peeps in chat.
Thing is, most people don't stick around until the end (I know I don't) unless they just got out the exit gates. It kinda skews what you see a bit imo.
Edit: auto correct betrayed me
Double edit: looks like everyone got lots of points and had fun. Good job 10/10 killer.

Heckin' boolies. Sacrifice them to the entity!

Fam. Click or tap the paperclip. Its the 4th button to the right. It'll bring up your photos. Double click the picture you want to share and you'll see it in your post.
Take your time with it, no judgment.
-
Aren't we all bad in our own special way?
-
Pizzawhat is the best franchise to ever exist, and I could only imagine Dwights existential horror if a pizzeria ever became a level.
Dwight sunglasses, cozy campus iirc is amazing. Just like Dwight.
-
There's a little paper clip icon in the spot below where you type your comment, it'll let you post pictures.
I do agree about 2 years ago. Bring back infinite and stop entity blockers, open up all the windows and bring decisive back. Back then survivors had the tools to deal with being tunneled. Now the killer will get you eventually through bloodlust unless you lose them. Something hard to do when you're screaming constantly.
I love it. Hope I helped.
-
To be honest I would still play dead by daylight if there was no killer ie nobody to chase loop or hook you etc.
Just make a killer that's the environment. Like there's still someone piloting the environment in the killer role but a pallet could come to life and injure the survivor, generator could explode and injure, exit gate door could fall on someone for an instant kill etc.
Maybe its time to think away from the hook entirely.
-
You'd think you'd see more hag players due to how popular camping is to capitalize on that, especially since they had to buy her to play with ruin.
I always found that weird how rare she is.
-
I disconnected against a doctor last time I played and its been a few days. Still don't feel bad about it. The game spawned the doctor on top of me, got sandbagged by my rescuer at a pallet.
So doc beelines for me again since I got revealed so I was like okay let me be your tour guide. Then you know the downstairs badham safe pallet? Got shocked so I couldn't use it.
There legit wasn't anything I could really do that match but I instantly got into a better game and had lots of fun. I wouldn't have had that great game if I didn't leave the doctor game. Sometimes you just have to.
-
I usually play a tank or healer that raids in mmos.
This is one of my retirement games. Wee.
-
Implying the killer ever leaves the hook. You'll take your borrowed time and like it.
-
You should probably play Dwight before you attempt to change his home.
-
Tunneling doctors are disconnect worthy because you can't escape due to screaming. If they're playing normally they're kinda okay.
-
I come back/came back for tomes.
The more you put up and have at stake the more likely you're gonna get annoyed. Bring in an item as a survivor? I don't want to lose it. Use a rare item set or a mori? If things go south you may not even get to use it.
I love creepy ambiance, but you don't really get to enjoy it unless you can't find a generator or survivor and can just stop and go cool there's a cow hanging from a tree.
It gets stressful for the wrong reasons.
-
I've used it for about a year now. It's just really rare to see a killer leave the hook. Who cares why.
You need borrowed time if you want the altruism emblem.
-
I'm an 800 hour player. Been to rank 1 etc.
I can hit greats, generally know the maps etc. I run a lot of information perks because while perks like dead hard and decisive can absolutely help in a chase and tunnel situation, you could miss a pallet you could have used, etc.
I consider myself bad but I float up in ranks no matter what I do so whatever.
-
Shelter Woods. Every time I get that map as survivor or killer I'm like thanks I hate it.
There's no woods, there's no shelter. There's just a giant tree in the center and a giant field of nothing everywhere you look.
-
My thoughts are, how many points did you get before the situation?
Generally anything over 2000 I'll stay in the game, but if you never got the chance to play that round, release or dc imo.
-
I never got the mindset. If I don't like how you're playing I just leave the match and queue up for another one. It takes way too much effort to wait until the end game lobby and then bother with all the chatting.
-
Team Fortress 2 went free to play and got a major problem with hackers. I know Dead by Daylights had a few in the past, but imagine trying to grind to max rank while a trapper teleports behind you and all you can say is thanks doc.
-
Whichever girl is the last one alive. That one.
-
I think it's kinda skewed here because the more hardcore you are, the more likely you are to come to forums and be involved.
I don't really like jump scares but I enjoy creepy ambiance and think it would be cooler with more horror. I just don't really load up DbD and go 'oh it's time to compete, sure hope I don't get tunneled and face camped!'
It's fun to be a little on edge. Spook people until it's less about how competitively you can loop and more like 'whoa, that was creepy lol'.
