I think they need to be able to reveal ghostface with flashlights only.
@Gorgonia I thought about this idea too and thought maybe a special Flashlight used only for revealing GF could be spread throughout the map but thought it would be too silly to have Ghostface be THAT crippled by flashlights.
@Raptorrotas I'm surprised people actually liked my idea, I like yours though. Keeping his stealth in Crouch makes him more like Pig and solves his issue of being an M1 Killer when he is revealed which I hate. It is silly to lose all of his abilities and really hurts him so I think putting his Stalk in NS makes perfect sense.
-
1-Freddy: I don't have Brutal Strength yet so I haven't used his pallets but his normal Snares and the teleportation is really fun. The aesthetic is very appealing and he really feels like he can put the pressure on and be everywhere at once, I love chaos and this version of Freddy really compliments that.
2-Pig: I love being sneaky and catching people off guard and I love traps so of course Amanda is one of my mains. I get so many Gen grabs and I love toying with people when their trap is ticking, even if I don't get the head pop I know that lurking puts them on edge and if I play properly then everyone freaks out.
3-Ghostface: He's stealthy and has an instadown, Myers can do the same things and is more powerful but I don't enjoy playing as him, ever. But when I play Ghostface it feels right, he isn't strong like Michael but he's slick as a shadow and sharp as the breath Survivors make as they fall down so he's def one of my top 3. One thing I really love about a Killer is their presence and Ghostface has a deadly presence.
My other Killers who I prefer to play are Spirit, Clown, and Legion though not so much Legion since they busted them. The Legion will always be my best of friends and I love them but until they get off their medication that seems to be making them tired it's hard to hang out with them. Hopefully they get the help they need, until then I still play them from time to time but they won't be in my top any time soon.
I have Prestiged to 3 all of the Killers mentioned except Clown, strangely I don't see the need to get his bloody cosmetics because everything they put out into the store is actually better and mixes well with each other. Maybe I will get his P3 some day but I am undecided right now since he is my only Killer with a Tier 3 BBQ which really sucks.
-
Your heart is in the right place but I don't think the Devs would ever make a penalty for unsafe unhooks, just help Survivors make safer unhooks. I mean it makes sense to punish them for their stupid play but it needs to be a perk because we have D-Strike and BT which is meant for camping. It is very easy to turn a situation of camping into one where the Survivor is just being stupid and it is incredibly difficult for a game to distinguish between the two.
-
I'll get the ball rolling since no one seems to like to brainstorm. Whether you are good as him or not is not the issue, you can be good as the OG Freddy but he needed a rework. Just as you can be good as Ghostface but still have little opportunity to use your ability because of bad map design.
So instead of Spotting to break Ghostface out of his ability what if his Nightshroud was on a Timer?
Reduce Ghostface's TR to 24 and then make his Nightshroud last for 1:30, it is longer than Mikey's BUT he can still only Mark 1 Survivor at a time and he can be broken out with stuns and he still loses it whenever he swings his weapon. I know his NS is powerful at loops so what if when he finally Marks a Survivor his NS is reduced to 30 seconds and then it goes away and charges back up?
This means he has to walk up close to a Gen and then activate NS, this takes time but not too much time and it still only takes I think 30 seconds to charge back up. He can use his ability just as often as he always does but he now has a set timer for the NS. The downside is that you may activate it too soon and not Mark someone in time or anyone at all but your reduced TR to 24 means you can get closer, M&A makes it a 16m TR giving you more breathing room.
Now this is not a legit idea, I know it is bad and makes Ghostface less viable but it is to get the ball rolling on better ideas. You don't need to say this idea is ######### since it is not a serious idea since it could make him worse and I know that, it is something to get the juices flowing for better ideas :)

First off this is not a complaint thread but a discussion on his ability and how it can be improved.
Ghostface and Meyers are similar but each have their own strengths and weaknesses which set them apart and make them unique, like Billy and Leatherface. The problem I see with Ghostface is that the current maps we have are suited for chases more than stealth, Ghostface's ability prospers on maps with walls, lots of corners, and large objects such as on Haddonfield, The Game, and the new Springwood variations. But his ability becomes difficult to use on more open maps such as the Swamps, the farms, and maps with huge gaps in the middle where the Gens like to be. His ability is hindered or balanced with his Spotting feature and that sets him apart from Mikey but also makes the map his worst enemy and since the maps are lot harder to change than abilities I got to thinking what if we found another way to balance Ghostface's Exposure ability?
If we think out of the box in this thread we can find other ways to balance his Nightshroud, what if Spotting wasn't in the picture? What would we replace it with and why would it be better and still make him unique to Michael? Spotting is a cool way to cancel his potentially OP ability but it hurts Killers when our power lies in the hands of Survivors and now the very maps we play in so I want everyone who is interested to lay out some ideas on what could replace or perhaps improve on Nightshroud and the Spotting.
Also, before anyone says git gud and figure out how to hide just save it, I know how to hide but only Wraith can stand completely still out in the open and not get seen. There are trees to hide behind but 3 Survivors at a Gen in front of that tree can circle around you and break you out, that's not getting good that is bad RNG when you have nowhere to hide but the worst spot. When you only have 1 tree or a small bush then staying hidden and not getting broken out is incredibly difficult. I have a P3 ghostface and he's in my top 3 Killers.
I made a Discussion about Ghostface and how we can find ways to improve him so he's easier to play and not as easy to play against. It focuses on Nightshroud and Spotting and how we can change them to make them work better instead of making small tweaks to his detection range.
-
@Hexyl Nowhere did I ever insinuate Ghostface should be invisible. I mentioned Wraith as an example not as an improvement, yes Ghostface being invisible would def be OP that's number 1 on the list of not doing. Do you have any ideas on how to improve Ghostface or are you content with giggling Survivors eyeballing you and laughing at you trying to use your ability?
-
It's easy to be sneaky if you have the right map. Game, Haddonfield, Springwood, lots of corners to hide behind. Swamp, farms, and the woods is just difficult because they're wide open. He's very map dependent because of the hotfix no one wanted or needed because practice is a thing.
-
I have also experienced the random chase drop but Isn't that normal? It has to do with line of sight and distance.
-
These turn of events are disgusting.
-
So if you read the Dress add-ons you'll see it says ''increase regression penalties'' and then it says failed skill checks later on. My theory is that it can increase Ruin's 5% for good skill checks to something higher and then if you combine that with Huntress Lullaby and Overcharge we could potentially have the best Gen Defender in the game.
I've been doing well with Basement Freddy, IG, Agitation, MYC, and Devour, I use the Snares on the Basement steps as warning device for when someone is getting saved. I either use no add-ons or the Drawings for Gen cooldown.
My sickest and most sadistic build is even more viable than it used to be.
Thana, Sloppy Butcher, Knockout, and whatever you want. Add-ons are the Swing Chains and Black Box for a permanent reduction. Thana should stack with the add-on or at least get it up to Tremendously very quickly. I just slug the Obsession and move on to the next target. Victories range from a juicy slow cook to a nice quick snack <3 scrumptious ''soul food''.
-
Nurse? who's that lol i'm on console.
-
My proudest moments are always around my Basement games, I love getting everyone to die down there, it's my home and they ain't leaving. I still have this amazing photo of all 4 Survivors on the Basement hooks <3 sweet victory.
I'm having lots of fun with Basement Freddy right now, so far it has only been this successful because I keep getting SWF groups and we all know they just LOVE rushing the Basement hooks but that doesn't work against the New Nightmare ;)
-
I don't like playing as Doctor so whatever they change I just hope it increases his fun factor. I know his ability is supposed to slow down the game and if you get everyone to T3 then they have to break out so keeping everyone Mad is ideal. But actually playing him feels boring because it's just a bunch of shocks that do nothing, chasing and getting really close and then eventually actually going the take down. He's like Plague without an instadown and though Plague is fun, Doctor is not so I hope they impve on him and make his abilities a bit more interesting.
One thing that would make things a little more interesting is if when Survivor see his illusion, the doppleganger takes a swing at them, it doesn't hurt them or anything it's just for that tiny shock value of the Killer trying to hit you.
-
Where did you hear this? It sounds absurd.
-
He's fine, Freddy is beautiful and has the respect he deserves. Git gud and his Block addons need a buff.
-
I think a simple solution would make her Black Incense basekit, keep the penalties too because they're massive and of course weaker. This way she always has a chance to use her power.

@Tzeentchling9 DS shouldn't say "Increases the chances of becoming the obsession" if it actually DECREASES the chances. That's a flat out lie. The point of obsession perks is that they're strong, but have the downside of becoming an obsession with a negative effect(usually knowing that you're running something obsession related, but also other things like Mettle of Man's aura reading). DS honestly kind of flips that on it's head with only upsides.
I agree with this, if they intentionally choose an Obsession at random then the perks should not say increases chances, that is indeed a lie and needs to be changed.
Now that I know that it is a feature and not a bug then I am ok with it but it still sucks super bad that someone else could have D-Strike but the entire time I think the Killer has something powerful.
-
The perk should be changed for something else, the Red Stain would be really cool but it might make Beast of Prey redundant which is funny since no one uses it anyway.
If they had they changed it to be similar to Devour Hope it could be pretty fun
2 Stacks reduced TR by 4/6/8 Does Not Stack
4 Stacks You lose your Red Stain while in a chase
You lose all Stacks when your Obsession dies.
This way you can get an actual reward for 4 stacks but have a minor reward for 2. You might not get to 4 but you should always get to 2. If you pair this with M&A you will always have a reduced TR by 8 no matter what and then the perk is solely for the Red Stain.
-
@DeadByMoonlight I really want to play with Red rank Survivors to see what it's like because I've played with Purples and they are just as bad as the other ranks. Nothing but selfish players.
-
I do love the idea of giving Survivors a perk related to pallets, Killers have several perks related to destroying them but Survivors don't have any for using them.
Idea 2 might work but like a previous person said it is an Obsession perk. Lets say at Tier 3 the Obsession needs a total of 3 pallet stuns but the non Obsession needs 4.
But this also puts the number of pallets in a match into the idea. If all 4 Survivors have this perk then only 2 MAYBE 3 but probably 2 can get the perk to activate. Now that is the same problem current MoM has, not being able to activate it and then the perk turns into a selfish game of who can waste pallets the fastest and forget to actually play well. That would benefit the Killer only, especially if they can't get a stun off and immediately go find another pallet to try again.
I think the best solution is either a rework or change the Protection Hits to 2, then you can get hit while someone is on their back or get hit trying to unhook and both of those are pretty easy since they can be done within a short amount of time.
Another suggestion is maybe add in the possibility of a Protection Hit OR pallet stun. You still need maybe 2 or 3 tokens but giving Survivors another option to get them could help.
-
I do hope they add more things to do, variety is the spice of life.
One thing Killers have that Survivors don't is variety, Killers can choose different Killers to play as and they all have different abilities and weaknesses, they all play differently. Sure the goal is always the same but the way you achieve that goal depends on who you're playing.
Survivors don't have this variety because they are just skins, nothing about their gameplay changes at all unless they interact with the Killer. All Survivors do is mind game chases and do Gens, while Killers have to work with the strengths and weaknesses of whoever they are playing.
This is why Survivors need more depth, Survivors need something more constructive to do so it doesn't get boring. I strongly suggest we have another Objective besides Gens, for example, one match has fixing Gens and the next match the Gens are already done but they have something else they need to do before they can open the Exit. This makes each match different and random, and if they add a third then there is variety all around.
-
I get juked so hard on the PS4, I misjudge distances, and can't play Nurse. I can increase my controller sensitivity but it really just makes me miss even worse lol
-
Make the Cypress Mori base kit because why not?
What would you replace it with?
Repeat
Repeat-also git gud it really isn't a game breaking add-on, if you feel threteaned by a Killer then good you're supposed to feel oppressed. No it does not have counterplay but I don't think it's necessary since it has a cooldown and only 1 person can get grabbed.
No opinion
So what, if it was Very Rare would you still complain? Billy and Bubba have weaknesses, git gud and feel oppressed.
No opinion because I play on console
It still needs tweaks but it does not need to be removed, why would you suggest that?
It needs to be reworked
Repeat--valid criticism
It shouldn't be able to let Survivors see Stealth Killers
Dying Light---it kind of works like Thana. When the Obsession is Injured all Survivors receive a penalty, penalty increases when the Obsession is hooked, penalty reaches max when the Obsession is Killed. If the Obsession is unhooked/healed then the penalty is decreased.
Insidious--this could literally be anything lol
-
I think a compromise would be a recolor of the Event Skin, or have something missing or something different on the paid cosmetic that the Exclusive doesn't.
I love seeing Survivors or Killers play with Exclusive skins, when I see a Billy with the BBQ hammer, I know that person loves to play Billy and worked HARD to get that cosmetic. When I see someone with the Hallowed Blight cosmetics I have to ask myself if they bought it or earned it, it isn't impressive to see someone with a cosmetic that they bought nor does it reflect their status or tell everyone BOI I'M JACKED!!!
But I understand no one wants to be left out, it's a bad feeling. So maybe the paid version can be somehow different than the Exclusive?

Its because BHVR discovered how fun it is to run around pallets for Survivor.
Thus they have focused less on Stealth Gameplay and more on that.
Give BHVR time, and suggest some ideas on how we can go back.
I for one, Want to see Windows with Glass that hurt survivors if they smash through them.
But Im a bit radical ;(
@Emeal That could actually work, there is no real reason not to add that into the game. Survivors could go to closed windows and just open them in case they need to jump through them later. If they Fast Vault through a closed window they can get the Deep Wounds effect, which we all know is really nothing since it won't go down in the TR so Survivors have nothing to complain about. If they Slow Vault through an already broken window it won't do anything because they're being careful.
An argument could be made that a Killer can close the window by hitting it but I think that would be too much power on the Killer's side and warrant a massive complaint from the Survivors. This worked in Friday The 13th which isn't a bad game, even though it ''failed'' it still has many features that are very creative and fun.
-
It's coming out on the 23rd, if you check the News about Freddy it says it on the bottom.
-
If you like stealth play and toying with Survivors, play Pig
If you enjoy cackling and oppressing Survivors with slowdown anti-loop gas, play Clown.
I love both <3
-
Survivors need to be able to get away or somehow avoid getting downed, counterplay is their only option besides pallets and loops.
The only time built-in counter-play is bad when Survivors DIRECTLY control your ability like Ghostface or Plague, Plague has no map pressure so she completely loses her 2nd ability because no one wants to Cleanse. Now not cleansing is a good and bad thing but it still cripples Plague because she is denied her power.
Ghostface's Spotting is too much, he was fine and they tweaked him for no reason, I understand that Ghostface having complete stealth and an instadown is a lot for Survivors to handle and that's why he has a counter but the counter in itself is too powerful against Ghostface.
Balance is difficult in this game but efficiency should be the prority and THEN balance. Is Ghostface efficient with his ability given the balance, no. Is Plague efficient with her ability because of the balance, no. When a Survivor has direct control over a Killer's ability it is crippling, period, and their ability is not nor will it ever be efficient and therefore NOT BALANCED.
-
I haven't gotten many corn maps with Ghostface so I don't really know but can you get Spotted while in the corn? If you can get Spotted in corn but can't Stalk, then that needs to change, it has to go both ways.
-
I don't use them often unless I am feeling confident and especially devious. I feel they are risky to use because of the community we have, DCs.
I know people say they are too powerful and of course you might get a safety pip, maybe. I have been the victim of many Ebony Moris myself and I never found them a problem as a Survivor, if I get caught I'm dead, I accept that. Sure I will get PISSED when the bring in an Ebony and then I get insta-saved and tunneled off hook, no one likes that and that isn't cool. But that's not the Mori, that's the community, you can have something powerful but use it sparingly and it all comes down to who uses it that way so I have nothing against it as a Survivor.
But I do feel as a Killer you should def get at least a safety pip guarantee if you bring in an Ebony, it makes the game go by so fast and even if you go in with the intention of playing well you can still lose if the Survivors are crap and just die instantly or if they DC. That's the community again screwing you over, not the Mori.
-
Yes she does, all the Pig players agree and we have lots to say about her but it is exhausting.
-
Iron Maiden, I just can't find any real use for it. Once someone gets in a locker it reveals their location but often times I miss it and so they're Exposed but for 15 seconds which means for those 15 seconds I'm looking for them. And now they know I have IM they won't go in Lockers anymore lol
What if Iron Maiden made you Scream when you entered the locker, showed their Aura for 3 seconds and Exposed them for 30? That way you can see their Scream then see their Aura to know where they're going and then hopefully catch them.
-
1-Freddy(Unsure now)
2-Pig---I like being sneaky and playing games with Survivors
3-Spirit---she's very tricky and just generally fun to zoom around and scare people
4-Ghostface---sneaky, fashionable, and preferable over Myers
5-Clown---He's very jolly and in your face brutal
6-Legion---used to be my number 4 before the rework. I still love them but my reasons for loving them are basically gone.
-
They really like that Blindness status effect LMAO 😅
Why are there no add-ons to increase the slowdown like Clown has and why is Blindness so valuable to Freddy that he gets TWO add-ons for it?
Other than that I can say that the Z Block is a bit odd and I'm curious about Swing Chains, can you only stack Thana if you have this add-on or can you stack it with one of the others?
-
Yeah it's fine just put them in the Media Lounge lower down.
-
Not OP, with practice you'll be able to break him out super easy. Just treat him like Myers when he's leaning and don't be out in the open, try to go around and break him out when he's out in the open instead.
-
@tehshadowman33 I looked at the patch notes, it is based on distance but if it was based on TR it could be OP because M&A with Furtive Chase on Freddy could probably make him completely invisible lol
-
The Grind is boring and exhausting for me, trying to get thousands of points just that I can get my preferred add-ons is exhausting.
I want to play Trapper but I need to use add-ons and if I use his add-ons I have to level him up and I don't want to spend BP on him to get my add-ons back, I just want to play him.
Trying to save 1 MILLION Bloodpoints before I Prestige him is grueling, I don't have that kind of patience, I have points and I want to spend them and if I have to play just to save then I'm playing with a goal and not because I want to have fun. And then when I Prestige I get to maybe level 27? I forget what the highest level is with 1M BP. So now that I'm Prestiged I get stuck with ######### perks that I don't want, no add-ons or offerings that's worthwhile and it will take me evewn ,longer to get back up to 50 which feels exhausting, it makes me tired. I don't feel like I'm playing for fun I'm playing for BP so that I can have fun LATER.
Also I just want to point out how bullshit it is that when I was leveling Ghostface I only got Thrilling Tremors tier 2 at Prestige 3. So level 1, Prestige 1 and 2 I was stuck with Thrilling Tremors tier 1 and when I finally got to P3 I somehow got Thrilling Tremors to 3 very fast. That is BS that I had to spend 3 Million + points to level up 1 Perk.
-
I completely agree that DW should also apply the Hindered status effect, it doesn't have to be huge but it would seriously help Legion out.
I just woke up so I can't remember what the other awesome rework idea was but yes, Legion is not fun for me anymore and I'm sad. I Prestiged them to 3 recently but only because I was at 2 before the changes were made and even though I love Legion I don't have fun playing them anymore. There is a difference between balance and nerfing, some of his changes are balance changes that are fair, most of it is just a plain nerf.
-
It feels like it yes, it really does.
Some of the changes they make don't seem intentional but more of a domino effect of changes that lead to other changes to make things smoother. For example Legion has Deep Wounds that's basically BT so they called that the DW effect and have them function the same way and when Legion's DW was changed BT was changed as well so that it all goes together. That wasn't an intentional planned change for BT it was just something that came with it.
Then there are things like Ghostface's Detection area being increased to 4 meters on each side. No one wanted this and everyone says it has hurt his viability, we all said he was fine and that Survivors needed to practice, me included since I play both. But the Devs ignored us and did it anyway hurting the new Killer and his viability to be top tier so that Survivors could counter him easier. Things like that happen a lot, some of it is legit balance changes take some and give some in other places but then there just feels like a lot of the changes are made so that Killers don't have the power they need, which is the exact opposite of an asymmetrical game, which this is...right?
-
I really love the aesthetic of the old rusty pale and gas sloshing everywhere on my way to the Gen. They could make it where if you sprint while holding a bucket of gasoline then some splashes out on the way but if you walk or crouch then it's ok. That would be a huge hassle for Survivors and I don't particularly like it but it's a cool idea in of itself.
-
The writers did a bad job at showing just what the Nun/Malek could do, she did a whole lot of everything so it's hard to pinpoint it down. Possession would be the best choice like Khaine said but I was thinking maybe Malek could summon an already possessed person, just some random Survivor not in the trial. So The Nun could maybe charge up the summon and then your POV switches to the possessed Survivor leaving behind your ''husk'' like Spirit and you can run faster as this person and have a fast attack recovery.
The idea is that you can switch between them, leave one at a nearby loop and kind of box a Survivor in. Like Spirit the Survivor won't know which one you're actually controlling.
So the Possessed would have a faster attack recovery and moves fast but the Nun is slower but also has an increased Lunge range which makes both very different and gives players lots of ways to play it out.
-
I've made a few comments around the forums saying the same thing, add-ons for her traps are cool but mostly useless, add-ons for Ambush/crouch is territory they need to focus on because it's used a lot more.
Putting the Mangled effect on an Ambush means it would be applied a lot more, you only have 4 traps so that's 4 times but if the Ambush charge had the roar at the end of the charge then you could apply Mangled several times.
And increasing her crouch speed would be glorious <3 sneaking as GF is basically Urban Evasion lol
-
@Lapisinfernalis I wonder if he's still going to have a 24m TR, he's probably going to have a 32m now since he doesn't have Aura reading.
-
I'm glad more people are pointing this out, they did say the line of sight check was just one step but it isn't working lol they took a step but they fell down.
-
Yes, this is perfect, it really resonates with what Killers are meant to do and get rewarded for it as well.
Also I'd like to point out that you mentioned Myers and Billy when it came to Instadowns but Plague is a huge example of her own ability directly limiting her Emblem/points. She has an awful Chaser because she can down Survivors almost instantly and your version of the Emblems would fix that 100% this felt really good to read <3 not often I feel happy after reading a discussion.
-
Well I wish I saw this first, I put it in Bug Reports already, even though they already know by now.
-
@OMagic_ManO said:
Know what would suck on him? If he was able to warp to hooks, you could have Make Your Choice and down the dude fast.
Well #########, lets hope the Basement always has a Gen ;)
-
So Survivors will WANT to Wake Up near the end of the match because once they have 1 Gen left Freddy has 3 Gens to teleport to and if everyone is asleep then his cooldown for teleporting is really fast. If everyone wakes up during this time then he can't teleport as often and his pressure during this time is decreased. Everyone knows that when Survivors 3 Gen themselves they're basically screwed unless the team is decent and has a runner but with Freddy they don't need to 3 Gen themselves to be in danger since he can teleport. He just needs to use Surveillance on the 1st Gen then teleport to the 2nd and walk to the 3rd, rinse and repeat.
3 seconds and not 5? Damn that is getting nerfed to 5 I'm calling it right now.
I am very excited for the rework, I already have plans and strategies ready I am going in with optimism. Tinkerer, Pop Goes, Overcharge, all the Gen perks will be best on Freddy I am seeing his Gen teleportation as his best ability and the Snares/pallets as his side dish.
-
When I play Survivor I can agree that the higher I get in Rank the faster the Gens go and it really sucks when the Killer doesn't have Ruin because they go so fast that I barely get to do one myself. I'll get chased and lose him, go to a Gen, not get halfway done before being chased again and finally downed. At that moment all the Gens are done and no one wants to save me so I die and de-pip because I didn't get to do anything. Yes that match was a combo of the Survivors doing their job and the Killer not being able to defend his Gens but still, the Gens are flying and I can't catch up.
