3 solutions to salvage MoM from the garbage tier list

  • Idea 3 is a no. I don’t really like idea 1 and 2 either. I think it should become a self-BT.

  • Why is MoM currently garbage tier? Because protective hits depend on a faulty game mechanic.

Solution 2 would be good and keeping in mind that MoM is a obsession perk, then non-obsessions need to stun X+X times for it to proc.

Why don't you like idea 1 or 2? I thought they were difficult yet fair conditions to meet.

By a self-borrowed time, how would it work? Would it literally just be like borrowed time except only apply to yourself when on hook? No conditions to activate it or aura reveal?

It’d work pretty much like bt but once you got unhooked in the TR you’d get endurance.

For 15 seconds? I think it could be too much, imagine 4 running it or imagine it during end game.

MoM was wrong to begin with, a cash grab it needs to stay as it is OR be completely reworked to avoid giving a free health state

I disagree, the free health state is crucial to the perk. That'd be like a survivor whining about exposed status effects or insta downs simply because they ignore a health state.

It is so crucial that from day 1 it was flagged as OP and it got changed extremely fast, for BHVR times.

Free health state in a 4 vs 1 game are simply bad for the balance, it's good to have MoM disappearing out of existence or be completely reworked to give a different benefit, not this one

  • All those ideas are bad. Just fix protection hits to work properly and let MoM be off meta bodyblocker build perk. We don't need survivors to have meta perk giving them instaheal through perk easily like it was before.

That isn't always the smart move though, sometimes you need to down a person fast to put pressure on the team, sometimes you need to kill a survivor fast (dying light) sometimes the doors are open.

BT is already strong, no need to add another free health state. What would work better is for BT to work within 24 metres from the killer, regardless of the terror radius

I go for the unhooker at endgame without a problem, if you’re getting hit by bt before endgame then you’re likely camping and not pressuring gens.

You didn't address exposed status effects and insta downs ignoring health states. It sounds like you're fine with killers getting to bypass health states and survivors not having any instant health states to counter this. By your logic, survivors shouldn't have insta heals or borrowed time either?

I did, by simply explaining it is a 4 vs 1 game which means that 1 free health state to the team who already has 4 times the number of people of the single team cannot be balanced because it ends up powering the single 1/4 of a team at the same level to the single team for some time.

An exposed effect takes down 1 person out 4 in the team of 4 and it is usually something that needs to be earned with the exception of noed, which could even be taken out of the game as far as I am concerned since it is a pretty toxic perk

the fact that you do does NOT MEAN it is the correct play, I don't usually tunnel or camp and I lose many games for this.

You really cannot argue that sometimes slugging the unhooked to pressure the team can be the winning move, every high level killer does when it is required.

You can post some red ranks matches and show me how this tactic of always going for the unhooker works for you. I am curious

They can't just "fix" protection hits. This is like when people asked them to "fix" the chase mechanic when legion would just moon walk until the timer ran out. They couldn't and instead used the terror radius as a condition.

Those mechanics based on character positions are wayyyyy too faulty. MoM NEEDS to be based on conditions that have specific completion and not on player positions.

Oh yes they can. Protection hits are part of normal gameplay since you get BP for them but the perk doesn't get the stack so either the perk is bugged or protection hits are.

Whatever it is it needs fixing and after that they can easily increase protection hits area of trigger if they still prove to be inconsistent. MoM right now is horrible only because of the bugs. Stop trying to get your "free" instaheal back.

It was never supposed to happen in the first place to give survivors such powerfull perk without any real disadvantage.

The problem though for a game like DBD, especially compared to games like Evolve or F13, is that survivor have no way to eliminate the killer. Yes, in a 4 vs 1 where the 4 can actually kill the 1, then you would have a point. Otherwise, so long as killers get to bypass health states, then survivors should be able to gain health states as they have no way to kill the killer.

You don't need to kill the killer, your goal is to escape and you have the NUMBERS to do that.

1 vs 1 needs to end up in a bad loss for the survivor (granted similar skill levels) and MoM denies that by resetting the chase one more time. It was a wrong perk to begin with, it was flagged as broken since the PTB.

It went live to grab some cash but it has always been a unbalanced perk

Wait, so you're fine with killers being able to ignore health states, but survivors can't counter this? That's so unbalanced for a 4vs1 game where the survivors can't eliminate the killer. All they can do is run. They don't even have a timer they can wait out to win like in F13.

How do you not understand? Run = taking the killer's time WHILE the other team mates are doing the objective to leave. Which is equivalent to damaging the killer

If survivors are competent they destroy the majority of killers (again given the same skill level) with the exception of the killers who can end a chase quick.

MoM is dead, it can be better once protection hits are fixed but you will never see a free health state, until a new licensed DLC is released

DbD already has additional health stattes on the Survivors' side. Hooks. In F13th, if the Killer catches you are dead. In this game, you get potentially 4 more health states than "normal gameplay". I dont know anything about Evolve though.

That's not true at all because a chase is a 1vs1 situation. You said earlier that "free" health states aren't fair in a 4 vs 1, but chases are never 4 vs 1. This is different for games where the power role, the 1, CAN be killed by the 4. For example, survivors in Friday the 13th can KILL Jason. So it would be unbalanced if they could also get instant health states. But they can't, Jason can interrupt during heal animations.

In DBD survivors need instant health states to counter killer advantages such as insta downs, exposed status effects, moris etc.

F13 cannot be used as an example since jason is trash in thst game, and I can speak from experience since I was one of the most successful Jason hunters in the eu server. ( all documented on my channel with more than 100 Jason kills uploaded and more than 500 total)

You are using the wrong game in comparison, f13 is fun for counsellors and bad fir jadon

  • I do love the idea of giving Survivors a perk related to pallets, Killers have several perks related to destroying them but Survivors don't have any for using them.

Idea 2 might work but like a previous person said it is an Obsession perk. Lets say at Tier 3 the Obsession needs a total of 3 pallet stuns but the non Obsession needs 4.

But this also puts the number of pallets in a match into the idea. If all 4 Survivors have this perk then only 2 MAYBE 3 but probably 2 can get the perk to activate. Now that is the same problem current MoM has, not being able to activate it and then the perk turns into a selfish game of who can waste pallets the fastest and forget to actually play well. That would benefit the Killer only, especially if they can't get a stun off and immediately go find another pallet to try again.

I think the best solution is either a rework or change the Protection Hits to 2, then you can get hit while someone is on their back or get hit trying to unhook and both of those are pretty easy since they can be done within a short amount of time.

Another suggestion is maybe add in the possibility of a Protection Hit OR pallet stun. You still need maybe 2 or 3 tokens but giving Survivors another option to get them could help.

Oh I see where is your problem. You think this game is supposed to be like F13. Luckily no, DBD is very much different and survivors (skilled ones) are still the power role.

There are just a few killer perks that allow instadowns and they all have very easy counters and are extremely luck dependant and not even 1 of them is remotely close to power level of old MoM that was multiplied by 4.

    Devour hope-break the totem

Haunted grounds-don't break totems and if you do just hide for 1 min

Noed- break all totems or evade killer after the gates are powered and scout for possible new Noed's hex until you break it

Iron maiden- meme, good luck finding anyone use it

MYCH- hide after you unhook, you have far more time then you need to do so

Rancor-use lockers and don't ever expose yourself during last gen to be done and after it

None of these have such massive impact onthe game unless survivors are potatoes and run at the killer while their effects are active.

And survivors have far more then enough perks/items that allows them to gain multiple health states like flaslight saves, instaheals, BT, DS, Dead hard and so many more.

Of course F13 can be an example because it is the same genre of game lol. My only point is that DBD is different than 1 vs (whatever number) of games simply because survivors can't work together to directly kill the killer. They have to win passively by escaping. Heath states should be balanced accordingly.

No that's incorrect, on f13 given the same skill level 3 counsellors have an almost certain victory if they decide to kill Jason.

And Jason cannot do much about it, you can kill Jaron 70% of the times with a good team of just three people, so f13 is stupidly unbalanced
