So wait a min- escaping is what increases your MMR??! Oh F trying to take aggro off other players and being a Martyr so others can escape- I’m being selfish now!
Devs themselves stated kills / escapes do not count towards MMR....
If they did count it would be far to easy to manipulate it and exploit it.

Doubt anyone would wanna do any form of collaboration after the lawsuit shitshow.

People who want to quit should have a right to I payed so there shouldn't be no bs in a game like this get rid of the penalty keep it the way it was before was fine
You have the right to quit a match, you will just have to take the penalty for it, since you are deliberately leaving 3 other people to pick up the slack you leave behind for them.
THings can happen irl that can make you need to leave a match, that is the reason why the penalty increases with each disconnect / leave because i do not believe you can have an accident every 5-10 minutes, and if there is something that you will need to look after every few minutes you shouldnt be playing.

How about we wait and see what the actual effects of the Boon perks are before we all freak out about the mechanic.
Chances are, the bonuses they provide to Survivors isn't going to be that great to the point of the Killer feeling like they're forced to put a stop to it immediately.
The problem is, if the killer ignores them and say survivors have 4 blessed totems active, and fifth one is either broken or occupied by 1 hex, any other hex the killer has wont activate because there are no dull totems anymore to use (like for example NOED) so if the killer wants them, he will have to go and find at least 1-2 blessed totems and hope they dont get reblessed.
-
Pretty sure once the PTB drops we will see people posting the details here on what they do so lets just wait for them.

No, a Survivor can bless a Hex totem turning it into a Boon totem....if the killer snuffs out the Boon, the the totem returns to a Dull totem.
The blessing of a totem takes as long or longer than a Hex totem to cleanse.
So either way the killer looses a hex.....idk, i feel like there should only be a 1x boon bless limit per trial and if the killer finds it and it was previously a hex, that it regains that hex, this would at the very least give a meaning to the killer in finding them.
I think the whole boon totem design was not given much thought
-
i mean....survivors managed perfectly fine without boon perks, so they will continue to do the same.
I honestly do not see any strategy in them.
also if its true that you can bless a hex totem to change it into a boon thats even more dumb. Idk these feel like a useless addition where the development time and costs could have been better spent elsewhere. Lets see what the boon totems actually do and then pass judgement xD

@PNgamer said:
hi,
ok Survivor will be able to turn hex totems into blessing totems. Conversely, this should mean that The Killer will be able to turn Blessing totems into Hex totems. If this is the case, it will be a kind of Russian Roulette and quite exciting. I am looking forward to the PTB and my choice is:
HEX 😎
Survivors cant turn hex totems into boon totems. Only dull totems. Killer can cleanse the boon totems to turn them back into dull ones.

@TacitusKilgore said:
I have a feeling that any hex that would normally activate and has no available dull totems to activate on will snuff out a boon totem and take its place. It would be hilariously stupid to have a blessed totem work as a proxy-counter to hex perks that switch totems or don't begin the trial lit.
It wouldnt be stupid, it would just mean killers cant ignore blessed totems. But i do believe survivors being able to re-bless totems is a bit too overpowered. There should at least be either a cooldown or a once per match blessing like hex totems.
-
I wish they would actually post more details on the boon totems and the bonuses they give.

@KingOfGhost said:
Once the Exit Gates are powered and there is at least one Dull Totem remaining in the Trial Grounds,
Does that mean if you have a boom totem at the end and no more dull you lose the perk before even lit. Do i get it right?
Thats what logic dictates. You cant have a hex on a totem that is already used for something else.

Like I haven’t played a killer match in ages where every survivor didn’t relentlessly attempt to bully me, flashlight click, tea bag whenever they do anything, finish gens in my face, follow me everywhere I go to force a tunnel, and just sit at exit gate til EGC happens. Like I haven’t had a non toxic match in probably months. I’d say since March.
This post just means they achieved what they wanted. I mean, its the internet, just grow a thinkc skin and dont let it bother you.

Its a aide objective for a killer which i get is another thing to worry about BUT the payoff could be worth it if it removes a survivor perk from the game. We will have to see how it pans out but i imagine its something you do if you see it maybe but not necessarily go looking for.
Totally agree. There is literally no point in speculating or panic untill we actually get to see what they do and how the mechanic generally works.

Another troll comment.
So....whenever someone points out you playing killer obviously wrong or bad to make matches end in essentially 2.5-3 min its a troll comment?
Listen sunshine, i generally main survivor, but i do play killer from time to time and i do not have the problems you are describing, and i am relatively bad as killer. So, buckle up, try to improve and then your matches will be better. In the time it took you to write "another troll comment" you could have easily watched a video or two and learned something.

Isn't that broken when you can repair all 5 gens in 2,5 minutes?
If all 5 gens get done in 2.5 min, you shouldnt be playing killer because that is purely on you xD

How do you know it's "another objective" when you don't even know what the perk does? It might be like some useless hexes and have such a mediocre effect like "while this boon is active, all survivors have a 10% healing speed bonus" that the killer can just ignore.
Wouldnt suprise me if the effects of the totems work only when 2 or more survivors do something. Also who knows, it might not be a perk but an offering and only 1 boon totem can be used per match, else you cna have a boon totem active on a dull one and it can prevent the killers hexes from activating. And i doubt heavily they want to add 5-10 more dull totems into the maps.

Its funny how people think hours spent in a game matters in terms of player skill....LOL
You can have someone with 30 hours that plays better than someone with 200-300 hours. So looking at hours played for SBMM literally shows nothing.
-
@Sweet_Tour said:
SBMM considers absolutely nothing. There are no variables. Your kills and escapes are the deciding factor.
Devs literally stated escapes / survives are not counted at all...

They should just change SWF to be only able to queue with 2 people not more.

IDK personally i feel camping needs to get a higher and more serious penalty. Not just a bloodpoint / score reduction but an actual handicap.

Not true! I love SC as a PC player as well.
My favorite build. I love being able to quickly heal myself and others.
"Myself and Others"....there is nothing more annoying than when someone unhooks you and runs behind you like a brainless zombie trying to forcefully heal you....until they lure the killer.

well what counts then?
i escape 95% of the time and 90% without getting hooked.
2-3 gens average per game
1unhook per match atleast or protection hits/healing
running the killer in average 1+min per chase till they give up sometimes even longer
if all that doesnt count, what counts?
What counts is a secret, and it should not be made public to avoid players exploiting the system.

So i recently read about this game in developement which is pretty much another 'DbD'-like game (an asymmetrical horror game)
Its not even in Beta as far as i know but here is a video where the devs play one match:
now it seems pretty close to DbD: you have 1 killer (monster from fictive 80s horror movies) vs. 4 survivors (in this case all teens), the gameplay seems also pretty close to DbD, especially for killers. The teens have a little bit of crafting and actual weapons though, and i dont really understand their objective (kill the monster?)
What do you think, does it have potential to live alongside DbD? Or will it meet the same fate as the others (Friday, Last Year, Hide and Seek, Home Sweet Home Survive [does this even exist anymore?])
My opinion: While having some features of Last Year (which i disliked from the first glimpse) for me it seems it still has potential and could work out. The models and animations seem a little bit yanky but could of course see improvements. The teens seem to have specific roles/abilities which i like. Overall it seems like a clone but it at least has own ideas and a more unique look to it.
edit: Its also supposed to be Free2Play, but i dont know how they handle in-game purchases for cosmetics etc.
The objective is to kill the killer (well, kill or be killed), you cannot escape, you have to kill it.
From what the devs explained, no perk in the game will be powerful enough to "carry" you, and they making it so you cant bully the killer.
Perks will be minor buffs.

Didnt they say that kills / escapes dont count for your MMR?

it is, they all work on a generator thats super easy to complete and the first gen is done in like 20-30 seconds, i dont like this, its not fun
it also means only 1 gen will pop and not 3/4. Would you rather they spawn seperate and then while you go after 1 3 of themj pop?
If they nerf gen speeds they need to nerf regression perks.

I have the same on PC but it is only with matches against Pinhead. all other killer matches have no problems for me. It seems to always DC after the gates are opened.

The grades won't affect match making any longer but it's a reasonable assumption by some that "If I derank my grade I'm lowering my MMR" so after a certain point there's no way to assume based on your grade how much lower your MMR is going.
Yup. I just hope they implemented somethign that will recognize when survivors or killers try to throw a match.
-
@JHondo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2472349#Comment_2472349
The way I interpreted it is that your grade wont diminish and you won't be "punished" out of your rewards each month if you have a string of bad matches or you switch to a new killer you've never played or hardly played and it has to calculate where your MMR should stand.
that and prolly to prevent deliberate de-ranking to get easier matches.
-
Still seems a tad broken. Matched as a rank 9 surivor with rank 1-2 killers lol

We all know No Mither is the worst survivor perk that makes the survivor weaker than if he hadn't any perk at all. Recently I found out that the new Object of Obsession is also such a perk: it's the worst killer locating perk which also gives your location away to the killer. I actually tried the 4-eyes build of OoO, Dark Sense, Deja Vu and Kindred, and my games actually went well untill OoO triggered and gave me away to the killer. The whole build was ruined because of one perk that literally killed me. I would've been better off with an empty perk slot instead.
Are there any other perks that are so bad they are worse than an empty perk slot, except these two?
Object of Obsession is incredibly useful if you know how to properly utilize it.
-
I think tinkerer is fine. You can easily find out if a killer has it and work your way around it. So far had no issues against killers with tinkerer.

Then you'll just see more killers dodging because nobody's going to equip a perk like Franklin's Demise unless they know survivors are going to bring in items.
Survivors just need to be locked before the 5-second mark. Giving the killer 30 seconds or so to prepare is more than enough and isn't a big deal.
I think the contrary, it is a big deal. Killer adjusting his perks has a huge impact on the game. Either let both sides be able to switch / adjust but add a timer limit, like for example after you switch once you cant swap items for another 5 seconds and let it increase with each swap, similar to matchmake penalty, or lock both sides out.
Killers already get advantages. Make it fair for both sides and equal.
-
@Orion said:

Killers don't have items to equip. The killer equivalent is their power, which they already can't switch in the lobby (or even while searching for a trial).
Lockout should include both items and perks. You set up your build pre-queue, then once you are in the lobby, regardless if survivor or killer, you play with that build.
-
@DaWeezerd said:

I propose they have to choose their items in the pre-lobby and can’t switch in the pre-game lobby
Yes but for both sides, killer and survivor then it would be fair.
-
I do not know if its just me, but watching the killer video play, certain things the killer does, including teh teleport are actually giving me a real head ache (as in a real life pain) i dont have that with the other killers. ITs like the animations make me sea sick lol
The mori animation of him tho i think is great. Too bad the chains dont actually rip the skin off the survivors.

I've said this several times its not about wins. This isn't about losing or winning this is about toxicity and the fact you aren't allowed to practice a killer in an actually fair environment.
Welcome to the internet. If you let something like that get to you you probably shouldnt be playing online multiplayer games.
You cna get friends together and make a custom lobby and practice with them if you want a more "fair" environment. Dcing does not make anything fair, if anything its unfair to the other 4 players in the match. So you are saying you "deserve" a fair game but the rest doesnt because you want to DC?

200+ hour.
Really as survivor so much easier, all one need to do is gens, 3 people on the 3 gens, while one get chased and only task to waste as much time as possible.
The pressure is on the killer, also survivors need to make mistakes which can be exploited by killer,also killer can only be at one place.
So again the true power with survivors.
The flaw in that logic is that a smart killer that knows what he is doing wont let those 3 ppl on 3 gens happen xD
-
the only change i would do to noed is that it immediately activates and not on first hit.

The lunge isnt remotely comparable 😂 what i said is remove all exhaustion perks AND noed.
if you remove all exhaustion perks you have to get rid of the lunge and reduce the killer speed slightly else there is no way a survivor can get away.

The places you can bait it out isnt what the person is frustrated with. Its when you outplay the survivor and tgey just delete their mistake with E, OR when they use it for distance. Its a truly ignoring perk.
Honestly just delete all exhaustion perks and noed. Neither are good for the game imo.
Idk it seems they are just looking for something to blame their failures on. I dont even use DH in any of my matches and killer still cant get hits good in so....i am still not convinced DH is the actual problem here.
But, if you want to remove DH sure, but then i want the killers lunge attacks also gone to make it fair, then i wont need a perk for ditance if the killer cant lunge at me from meters away.
-
@Maperson said:
The worst perk I'd say. It's basically rewarding survivors bad play and punishing your good play, absolutely no skill required.
So is NOED for killers....and like DH it can be countered. DH is fine imo, i dont play as killer that much but when i do i can still bait it out most of the times. I would say the perk is only an issue with killers that are generally less experienced or face bad survivors most times, so when they actually come against people that know what they are doing they think the perk is too strong.

I am already using some gen defend perks because i have to do that. Even with them, generators are flying. And did you heard Dead Hard, DS, BT, UB? They all are second chance perks and they all helps againts tunnelling and camping. But if you are bad at chases, you will down again ofcourse.
And survivors are reason of tunnelling. If killer lose 3 gens with 2 hooks, what killer has to do? If survivors makes game fast, ofcourse killer will play more dirty.
Those perks are easily baited out. Not to mention if you lose 3 gens pretty fast that is your own fault for not pressuring enough.
And if you screw up that the last gens are too far apart, then its on you aswel. Playing killer isnt about just using perks and brainded chasing survivors till you win. If you cant come up with your own "way" to put good pressure on the map, then you will always get genrushed.
And for sake of the discussion: genrush and tunneling are two different things. tunneling essentially means unless you get really lucky or the killer leaves you will survive otherwise its a guaranteed death. While genrush has easy counterplay and control if the killer is smart.
-
I hope they change it so once in the lobby neither killer or survivors can change their items and perks.

Yes, sometimes they do something, unfortunate you take it so hard.
I take it so hard because my team was essentially bad, i didt half the gens, unhooked, cleansed the totems all to just get cheated of a escape because of zombie rng.

Why are survivors allowed to just mass rush the hatch? There's no opening sequence for them to do, they click and win the match no matter how good the killer did. Even if you click and to try and grab it just whacks them and laughs at you. This joke is stale and finally needs an update.
Give them an opening animation like chests and killers be able to grab survivors (like they used to btw)
Sure, but then also give the killers a closing sequence, also give killers an opening sequence for the exit gates to trigger EGC. It goes both ways.
