I see threads on here all the time about how much people hate it when killers tunnel, but nobody ever talks about it when survivors do it. Why? Survivors can hard tunnel gens just as much as killers can tunnel survivors. For example.

    • Rushing a nearby gen right as the killer picks up a survivor
    • Refusing to heal each other or themselves in order to gens
    • Completely ignoring totems (and ironically then complaining about NOED at the end)
    • Completely ignoring chests
    • Not body blocking
    • Leaving teammates on the hook to work on gens

These are just a few examples, but in general survivors can "tunnel" their objective just as much as killers can, yet nobody says anything about it.

Yes, every single point is right. But killer can punish such gameplay very badly, and turn it into a 100% 3-4k.=)

They don't heal? Chases are 2-times faster.

Teammates should be a priority, not gens. Sacrifice 1 hook stage for a gen - you got one less teammate. Try to blame the killer then, gl.

    @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

    1. You know killer will kick this gen with Pop, so it's better to finish it before this happen.
    2. Healing is waste of time thanks to BHVR. They nerfed healing to ground. It's pointless to heal if you are not dead on hook.
    3. BHVR nerfed boons into ground as well. And killers are rarely using hex totems. There is no point to cleanse totems.
    4. Chests are waste of time. Bringing item in lobby is better.
    5. This hardly happens unless it's last gen. If last gen is about 50 - 60% , it's smart to focus on gen and finish it.

Blame BHVR for current survivor play. They nerfed chase perks. They nerfed heal perks and med-kits. Boons are pointless and weak. Only gens left.

And all killers are tunnelling so hard, so it's better to finish gens before killer make someone out.

"Healing is a waste of time"

######### did I just read...? Do you actually not healing in your matches at all?

You must be really don't care about escaping huh.=)

Btw, you can blame Developers for the current killer play (tunneling). (Which I really doubt, players are really overreacting on how much killers tunnels in the game atm.)

  • P 100 still scares you?

  • It's hard to see a survivor's aura behind gen, not gonna lie. (almost the same red color)

As for Scratchies, I don't think it's gonna help, considering how chaotic and spread out they are currently.

I feel like that's simply not true.

A SWF does not make those 4 players good. It gives them tools, but it doesn't magically increase their game sense or awareness of macro play.

If you're a good Killer, you'll still win the vast majority of your matches, even against SWF's.

Heck, I even played competitively with Killers like Wraith and Wesker.

"If you're a good Killer, you'll still win the vast majority of your matches, even against SWF's."

"Heck, I even played competitively with Killers like Wraith and Wesker."

I'd love to watch a video of you playing against a competitive SWF as Wraith. xD

it's also obvious when all survivors start spread out, so you know killer used veil.

I think Memento should be a base-kit mechanic for all killers. But in a somewhat different way.

Developers almost made it, but with a pretty stupid base-kit unbreakable mechanic (thank God they didn't).

Memento Mori should be like a side quest for a killer to achieve. "Do that, then this" and there you go, you can mori 1 survivor, if they on a death hook and downed.

    #Make Mori More Common.

  • @suistar7 said:

Please change the distance from the hooks :/ You need 12-16 seconds to wiggle successfully out. It feels like there's a hook at every corner and in 8 of 10 cases you don't have enough time to get free with wiggle...Some of the hook positions are right next to a generator, which doesn't make the situation better.

There is also the problem that since several updates the palettes are no longer triggered because the key input simply does not respond. Many of my friends also have this problem.

the new camp system also needs improvements. killers like the ghost can still stay in front of the hook due to their ability. and the progress doesnt count for the survivour. some killers just stay far enough away but still camping very close to the hook.

    1) You do understand that killers in most chases working really hard to down a survivor. Now imagine if hooking that survivor is becoming a challenge as well? (as @Haddix mentioned, there is a perks and teamplay for that)

When you got downed by the killer, you should not expect to wiggle out without any help. Thats just not how that works.

    2) Problem with key "promps"? I can only think of connection issues or a simple "making a mistake".

    3) It's ANTI - FACE CAMPING mechanic. Not just camping or proxy - camping. Also a question, how many times have you been legit face camped by the killer after this mechanic dropped? Probably 0, because you would escape from the hook if killer will try to do so.

Corrupt is always necessary to make games bearable.

Hex: devour hope, bbq and grim embrace encourage killers to not hook camp or slug survivors. I seriously miss playing against killers with barbecue years ago because I knew it always going to be a good time since there was no hook camping involved. Sucks how we got into this mess now

While I do understand that Corrupt and Grim Embrace might be a good measure to provoke a healthy gameplay from killer side...

But Devour hope? BBQ basekit? What the hell? xD

    Like chill bro. =)

The dude was upset because survivors were apparently camping pallets and throwing them down so now he's gotta camp hook because we're playing boring? like dude we're playing like survivors were

looping you and you get salty at survivors....for playing like it's supposed to be played?

I swear some killers just want easy 4k wins cause how dare a survivor give them a challenge

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/802BF2LBYG4S/salty-killerr-png.png

I mean... Looking at the messages... Is it really what you call "Salt"?

When survivors legit camping (it's no brain tactic same as predropping or tunneling) every single pallet it could be frustrating to the killer, but not to the point when they calling you names (In your case, killer didn't).

Predropping and camping pallets - means that this survivor is out for a "competetive" match. Since this is the most "sweatiest" tactic.

So it really is creating an opportunity for the killer to tunnel you out. (Same thing with camping)

If you playing sweaty - I will play sweaty, no hard feelings, just business.

Yeah right because I wasn't the first one to complain about the "reworked" GoJ in ptb feedback. There's a sweet spot between GoJ and a map clutterd with unsafe useless tiles. Nostromo leans on the other side, and just cuz there's "more survivor sided maps" in the game than "killer sided" doesn't excuse this joke of unplayable map

But I guess balanced = I get my free hit regardless of how I play just cuz theres almost no mindgameable tile here. Reminds me of that content creator that was saying the new tile in azarov that luckily got now reowkred was actually balanced

Those tiles that you showed are perfectly balanced around M1 killers, no? Ofc, they are bad against someone who can hit across the wall. But what do you want? Every tile and loop to be longer and more safe? That will be a 100% one sided mentality.

For me, some of the really unsafe pallets are present on RPD (and I think you know which are). Like these pallets are not ok, where the killer have pretty much 100% chance of hitting.

  • @egg_ said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3600214#Comment_3600214

Balance = empty areas and loops so short and unsafe a killer can m1 from either side of the corner and reach the survivor. There's like 2 safe tiles in that map

    Yeah, you're right.

Balance = 20 pallets with 1.5 m distance in between. God pallets one after another, connected to 2 god windows, that you can't go around, with the loops that you can't mindgame because of the short walls or rocks.

    I see you.

  • Tho, from the bottom of my heart, I feel like they will not be able to add a spider into the game... Because how?

They already said that they can't include a "Wall climbing" killers, they wanted to do that with Xeno.

It will be a really weird spider, if it's not going to climb on the walls and stuff...

But hey, if they were able to bring inverse kinematics with Xeno... They might be able to do that too...

almost every game has some combination of pain res/corrupt/pop/jolt, so on average survivors have to do at least 6 gens if the killer is even half way decent. If gens were any slower, solo q would be virtually unwinnable (already close as it is).

Almost every game BNP, Prove thyself, Hyper focus, Resilience, Deja vu.

I wonder why killers have to bring so much slowdown...

  • @JudithMorel said:

Almost if not all loops are absolute garbage tier and unorthodox its insane. Playing against Chucky specifically on this map is a complete mess. Am i the only person who hates playing on this map as survivor?

    I think you're completely wrong.

Nostromo wreckage is the only Licensed map that screams: - balance. This is how balance should be on all maps imo.

It's mind boggling to me that, whenever someone creating a post about GoJ or Haddonfield or any other actual problematic map, everyone seems to ignore it. But when a fairly balanced map being called "garbage", everyone is freaking out and agree.

I'm afraid for this game future balance, when I see posts like this, I'm not gonna lie.=)

  • Honestly?

This is like what... 10 sec animation of dying on hook and mori?

You sound like it's several minutes.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

SwF teams are more effective and fast on gens while solo teams are usually having trouble.

So i don't know what is the answer here.

When they actually sit on generators - they are way too fast almost for any killer.

In order for killer to keep up with gen speed, they have to chase and down survivors within 25-40 sec. (40 sec - worse case)

Now depending on the killer and map, sometimes it's impossible, so killer will have to switch and scare away survivors who sits on gens.

As a killer - map traversing is another reason. Not every killer have fast and quick map traversal.

Survivor's communications is basically a reason for getting gens speed nerfed imo. They can always communicate the position of the killer, and basically sit on gens 24\7 on different sides of the map.

Unlike soloq (poor sweathearts...) when they need to use their eyes, perks, intuition, etc... HUD is helping a lot in this case tho.

So... For the 300 times... How to bring Soloq experience closer to SWF? Adding voice chat for survivors only. But you will pay the consequences and they are not going to be pretty.=)

Is anyone else experiencing this? I've noticed it specifically on Myers and Wraith so far, where chases aren't starting until I hit them.

It was worse on Wraith - I was chasing some Surv's through jungle gyms, yet the chase still wouldn't start. They were in full view of me, to the point I know for a fact a chase should have started.

Not only that! I've legit played a match as Xeno, when I downed Meg the chase music didn't end, I thought I'm in a chase with someone else, but I've seen nothing on their HUD, I hooked her, gone into tunnels and the chase music were still playing until I actually gone into another chase.

Besides, fresh scratchmarks were literally appearing and dissapearing right in front of me! It was really weird and annoying.

  • Probably a cheater. You can't obtain both icon and background for now.

  • Thats weird.

Because after MMR "hiccup" I'm getting 9 out of 10 games against total tryhards with usually 3 or 4 ppl in a party.

Well at least my games become really engaging and fun.=) I don't need to "restrict" or hinder myself against such good players, I can finally let loose and play as sweaty as they do.

Before MMR changes, when I was getting more casual players (or not expirienced), I was just like you btw.=) When I saw that survivors can't deal with a pressure I'm making, and they are about to lose at 5, 4, 3 gens, I was purposely handicapping myself by:

    1. Letting them safely unhook and only then start a chase.
    2. Completely ignoring the unhooked survivors. (Even if they purposely "dancing" in front of me)
    3. Just injuring \ downing dead on hook survivor and letting them run away \ leave on the ground for like 1 or 2 times.
    4. Picking up downed survivor, instead of chasing down injured survivor near by.
    5. Even letting them complete couple of gens before killing them.
    6. Always letting 1 survivor escape through hatch.

I know it's not ok, but I do care about survivor's fun in the matches. DBD might be the only game where I do care about other side. And it kinda saddens me when they DC right after first down or even injure.

And I can't do something about it, unless I see that I'm playing against a really strong survivors stack.

  • I don't think it's only EMPs.

For me, it's very uncomfortable pod placing, and pretty strong map dependance, that driving me away from playing this killer for more than 1-2 matches.

This killer is very exhausting to play as.

I think if they create a archetype for all regresion/slowdown perks that are focused on gens and just limit the number of them you can equip in your build (lets say max. 2), you could still keep their power level even on strong killers and you could buff the weaker ones to add more build variation.

And for that Pain Ress, of course it doesn't spawn a 6th gen on the map, but the max value (which isn't hard to get on good killers) is a entire regress of a gen which is very big deal just for doing your job passively.

    Agree.

They could also make similar (but I think more complex) archetype for example: "Pain res exactly on Nurse or Blight, regress only 10-15% instead of 25%". And for killers like Trapper, Freddy or Myers it's 30-35%.

But it's kinda stupid at the same time, because with these "changes" they will basically admit that their game has a really strong balance issues. It will be one of the reason to scare off new players for sure.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3599388#Comment_3599388

Yes, but do you realise just by equipicking this perk on any good Killer makes 5 gens ---> 6 gens by default every game and then you are on mercy that the Killer didn't bring any other of the strong regress perks and you also hope your teammates can last in chase longer than 30 seconds.

If I'm not mistaken, I think you do understand which side is the power role in this game.

Besides that killer must work hard to achieve value from these perks, they are still doing so little, against a really good stack of survivors.

They are strong only on Nurse and Blight? So should we nerf perks, or these killers?

But they need to be very careful nerfing these 2 killers specifically. It will end up in a very ugly scenario.

  • As much as I adore Chucky is in DBD, I think he is no where near as good as Alien chapter.=)

I even dare to say: - Xenomorph is the BEST looking killer, with the most complex and cool animations, with literally best skins for killer in the whole game.

Xeno is literally the ONLY killer in the game, that has inverse kinematics (When Xeno placing hands and legs on a different hights, making it look more realistic).

I would literally argue, that from the design side, they put much more work into Xeno, than they did with Chucky.

The Alien chapter was literally a "Shut up and take my money" moment for me.=)

Don't forget, chapter that brings only 1 killer or 1 survivor isn't so appealing for both sides. It's always better to have something new for both sides.

  • @I_CAME said:

Yes. I don't know why they're so afraid to significantly nerf her. It's obvious to any unbiased player that she is way too strong. She's so strong that barely anyone actually tries to defend her as fair. Something that is incredibly rare in the DBD community. You can't even use the low kill rate excuse anymore if you go by nightlight stats. She currently has one of the highest kill rates in the game in spite of bad nurses dragging it down. Apparently killers like hag and trickster are more deserving of changes in Behavior's eyes. Nurse is a relic of the past and does not belong in the current game.

You always have to be very careful when you trying to change Nurse or Blight. Once these killers become weaker than some licensed killers, the game will become P2W (pay to win). (If Wesker or Xeno or etc, become the strongest killers in the game, DBD will become a P2W game).

And this is a very bad reputation, believe me.

  • Pain res works only 4 times per match, and sometimes you just can't reach a scourge hook.

Surge works only for M1 attacks. Most of the time useless on Nurse or Blight, or any other high tier killer, they mostly downs survivors with power. Besides the times, when you keep downing survivors in a completely dead zone.

For pop you have to down and hook a survivor. It also ONLY strong, when you kicking at least 80-90% of the gen progress. I actually thing that Pop is one of the most fair and healthy perks for the game, considering how fast survivors can do gens.

The only thing that MAYBE problematic, is when killer making a combo of these perks.

But hey, survivors also has some strong combos.

  • It should be considered as a crime, to not give survivors do glyphs midchase. xD

I'm happy to give survivors to do a glyph, it even makes me feel good.

Then we nod to each other, and back to business. 😈

  • "Not really, who's Huntress?"

    Ahem... What?

  • Chucky is a very welcome addition to the DBD. Imo he fits perfectly.

Survivor players don't really like his power tho. Once you understand how it works, you will know why.

But if you put "other side fun" aside, Chucky is one of the most fun killers in DBD.

  • @SweetbutaPsycho said:

I've seen so much stuff on here about how toxic survivors act and how hard it is to play killer etc.

Now the killer side gets a really strong killer with chucky and out of 10 matches against him so far I had:

    • 9 4ks
    • 5 chuckys spamming EZ without anyone else even saying something after the match in endgame chat
    • 4 chuckys just letting the entire team bleed out
    • 9 matches 5 gen tunneling one guy out
    • 4 matches proxy camping the first surv on hook
    • 3 guys telling my team how bad we are and to unalive ourselves (not swf but solo queue)
    • 5 chuckys just running around the last survivor on the ground refusing to hook him

Why can apparently nothing good or strong happen in this game without people immidiately abusing it for toxic puposes be it killer or survivors.

Why are you referring only to THIS community?

Literally in any other online PVP game if devs adding something strong or op into the game, everyone is abusing the living "S" out of it.

It's not about DBD community, It's a HUMAN thing.

  • No thanks.=)

The only thing I can agree is 99 gates. That should go away.

Other things that you mentioned about 99 gens or healing is not even an issue.

  • "I wonder why survivors using this perk... I never been hit by DS as a killer..."

  • Yes, killer q times are not even doubled or tripled, it's multiplied. xD

But thats understandable. As you said "Killer only license", tho I don't think MFT has something to do with survivor's "declines".

  • Nah, Nurse is completely different in this regard.

Players don't like nurse because (in short) she is op in the right hands.

Hag tho? She is completely not op, nor even strong if you know how actually easy to counter (play around) her traps. People hate to play against hag, just because she is a "Territorial killer". She just sits on one part of the map, she doesn't chasing anyone.

It's a boring gameplay. I used to like her and even maining her. But I just came to realisation that you can't get better at her, than "this".

Her limits basically all in the survivor's knowledge. If they know what to do - Hag is the object of bullies.

blight has to bounce and some maps are pretty nasty with obstacles

chucky? no terror radius + footsteps deception + anti-pallet + charge to cover distance, has he some drawbacks for all those powers? I can't see any, so you get all bonus and no malus

Well, he actually has a pretty long cooldown to his power (20 sec)... Besides you (survivor) can dodge his charge.

respectfully I disagree, the lease amount of changes the better, if hag starts having a high pick rate players will complain and want her nerfed. 😣

Oh come on man, her power is so outdated and doesn't fit into the game's pace anymore. And you know it! xD

She is so rare, but still no one likes to play against her. There is no recover other than changing her power completely, SADLY!

  • I hope there will be a BIG changes to Hag's power. Small twicks isn't enough imo.

    Maybe even completely reworking her.

"I've no clue why they want to change something about Huntress... It's a killer with one of the most higher pickrates"

  • SM aside... You think Xeno and Knight having a bad chase music?

I mean PTB Xeno might be, but it got much better, and the Knight have a decent one.

At least it's not a 2-3 sec looping drums. xD

  • I'm not sure if he is fun to play against, but definitely fun to play as.=)

  • Personally, I adjust a "brightness of the effects" in the game through Nvidia Experience. (I will not bring a screenshot, it's all Russian anyway)

It's actually helped out, scratchmarks at least brighter now, but still spread out in such an awkward way, so I'm still second guessing (looking around) each time I turn corners...

But hey! At least I don't need to break my eyes to see them properly anymore!

Overall the perk is fine its my teammates I've learned not matter who is being hooked if it's their first hook let go of the gen since it sparks and doesn't give a noise notification as if a survivor is repairing it explodes. What bothers me is almost none of my teammates realize this even after two tokens of pain res went off meaning the killer now knows where to go to since the gen blow up.

Pain rez gives you (killer) no info which gen got exploded. Even if survivor screamed, you've no clue where exactly.
