How so?
It doesn't have as many meaningless features as people want it to have on outset?
I'm sure that will change over time and the ability to drop real world money on digital cosmetics will remain intact for many years to come.
It's not about it.
You just not presenting to people an empty sheet of paper and saying: - "Soon it will be a picture on it". You know?
Thats just not the way they should've presented a player cards to their players. I do agree, they kinda ruined the expectations.
What is the point of implementing player cards with just 1 badge and 1 icon? That you HAVE TO BUY with real money? It's pointless, if you ask me.

Yeah, I created a post as well... I thought it was a bug tbh.

There should ALWAYS be a valid reason to take down someone's post. Besides, we do have a private messages after all.

I haven't seen anything new in the patch notes.

Not complaining btw. I just think it's hilarious that there are no presets. That'd be like adding a Killer but only showing us where they will be standing once they ACTUALLY get in the game..lol.
I mean, yeah. I tend to agree.
It's like presenting a picture to the audience, but there is no picture yet, it's just blank sheet of paper with nothing on it.

In-game notification, I launched the game yesterday and it popped out
Dude, I have never seen this window popping up, when I starting the game. For how many times I reported players for hardcore harassment in EGC, actual cheaters, when they working with a killer or being sandbagged and unsportsmanlike conduct. You actually opened my eyes. xD
Seems like my reports just being thrown in the garbage can. Wow, I'm actually dissapointed.
Thank you for posting this! I will stop using this report system whatsoever then. Why would I care if nothing is going to happen.
They are checking your reports, so don't stop doing so! Keep reporting bad behaviour, especially cheaters! For the love of GOD!

@OP Do you have any video of these things?
No, I'm recording only moments of blatant cheats (right in my face), in order to properly report these players.
The problem with "these things" is that - I'm not sure, if they are cheating. Each time I'm suspicious about their movement speed - I see MFT in the end game lobby, and being like "Huh, they might be not cheating".
But this "Might be" - makes me paranoid.

Anhedonia is, to put it simply, a loss of motivation or ability to feel pleasure. You said "[L]ean towards only one thing: you got depressed."
Mfw the anhedonia isn't actually caused by bad balance decisions but the usual suspects mental health crawling out of the woodwork agains
I'm still too dumb to understand it, so anyway... If you play DBD without any emotions (feeling nothing), the Entity isn't happy with you. xD

You seem to be confusing facts and opinions.
Stating “ the game is only getting better every day” is not a fact. That’s your opinion.
In this exact case, it's not an opinion. It is a fact.
DBD now is not even a 10 - it's 100 times better than it was in 2017 in every single aspect. Both gameplay and how it looks.
I see arguing with that is as pointless as arguing that white color isn't white.

I've no clue what you just said. xD
-
I mean, honestly? If you don't feel anything in the game, while you playing the game, that just lean towards only 1 thing: You got depressed.
Once loved project doesn't give you anything now? In case of DBD, the problem is within you. Because the game is only getting better and better day by day, which makes me only more excited. It's a fact.
In DBD I have only somewhere around 3500+ hours. But in other game before DBD, I've had 17k hours. And I never felt like you do.
I always have passion and excitement towards whatever I like or love. If I don't, I just stop playing it, and completely forgeting about it.
Burned out? Go play something else for literally 2-3 months. And you good to go.
If you keep playing the game, or even just checking news about the project you once played - that only means that you still love this project. And at some point, you will return to it.

What you are doing is very commendable. Just don't do that all the time. Your escape should be a priority, or at least 70% of your matches, with randoms.
And know to who you are helping. Most of the time, no one cares, sadly, it's randoms.
I was always saying that points must be more important for your MMR, rather than just escapes.
"Oh wait, I forgot... DBD is like a hockey... Pardon me."

Excuse me, but did you really get looped in sanctum of wrath like that? I was expecting some map that actually has well connected loops, not sanctum. Sorry but that's on you, especially the part where the survivor ran through main, considering it's probably the unsafest main in the whole game, and at it's sides there's a dead zone and zoning is really easy in that map
No one were looping anything, the guy just Shift+W --- Predrop --- Repeat. And I broke only 1 pallet at GJ, before starting ignoring other. The thing is - I could catch up to him only by Fourth pallet on top left!
The issue I'm making here - why survivor allowed to hold Shift+W and predroping for that long? Why even looping at this point? This is very boring.
And as I was saying, this happened not only on Yamaoka, there were multiple ocasions on different maps.
All I was doing is just holding W as well, to catch up to this survivor, there is no other counterplay.
And btw, Sanctum of wrath has multiple connected loops, pallets and windows.
-
Here how I work with that xD:
- When survivor played so good, that it's almost cost me a game (they run me for a really long time and outplayed me at many loops) - there is no way, I'm letting you die on this match, it will be not fair.
- "Giga-chad" survivors who always there for their teammates, even if it means that they will die, they will make sure YOU escape. (For example: 2 last survivors, 1 of them got hooked, the other one on death hook going for a save anyway, going down while doing so but saving a teammate) - I will even carry their body to the exit gates, I don't care.
- The most common one - If you the last survivor and you gave me a "gift" (put your item down). But it depends, on how much you BM-ed me in the match.
It also depends on my mood tho. Usualy I'm not playing a game when I'm not in the mood, but If I do, I don't think I'm gonna let anyone escape, despite these points above...

You misunderstood my question. Let me try and rephrase it: Can you give me an example of a map where you know that this didn't work in the past and just now works? I really can't think of a map, where pre dropping and Shift + W to the next pallet didn't work reliably. Maybe on the old Shelter Woods depending on RNG but other than that, I don't remember.
I thank you for this example all the same. It shows how ridiculous this whole situation can actually be. It's one of the reasons I've started using Brutal Strength and Fire Up on Freddy. I just want to have a normal chase. With looping, mind gaming and all that. This whole Shift + W until Bloodlust kicks in, then pre drop a jungle gym pallet (or something similarly strong) and repeat is incredibly boring. I can win against this, if I use a somewhat good build (way more than I usually do) at least on a somewhat fair map but I'd much rather lose a game in which I was just outplayed multiple times. Because then I at least wasn't bored out of my mind.
One of the things that initially got me hooked on this game was this whole back and forth aspect of the chase. But this really lacks, when one side turns off their brain and forces you to do the same.
Damn, sorry, I lost the 50\50 there. =)
The maps back then were: Red forest, Autohaven, Swamp and Badham is what I could remember for sure (Def not Gideon or old Earie). I do remember survivors were doing that even back then, but it was REALLY NOT this efficient.
I mean, even on the same Yamaoka map!
MFT was not in the game yet! I actually think it's an MFT issue, after you reminded me...
Like it was not even worth talking about, or even creating a post about back then, you know?

there is way more pallets on sanctum of wrath then what your showing. the map has 11-15 pallets. the main building spawns 1 unsafe pallet on the top. the other pallet spawns on either side. On the shack side that your drawing, there is at least 6-7 pallets. For example, where your drawing the arrow, your missing at least 2 pallets there + tile-set.
On top side right, your missing Japanese garden, a tile set, 1-2 pallets in center between left-right side with that weird building that spawns some vaults in middle that very few survivor know how to utilize. On left, there is roughly 2 pallets+tile-set.
Exactly! There were more pallets around, I was showing with arrows his pathing, he got hit at the TL, then he just zoomed to a GJ at the right.
The thing that I didn't understand is that how he was able to reach main building's pallet from a small loop, literally not looking behind him, with me ignoring the pallet at this small loop. SOMEHOW, I was not able to catch up to him before he reached the pallet at main building. Does this MFT alone providing you to do so? That is kinda... Nuts?

Could you give an example? Because I really can't think of one from the top of my head. Pre dropping has always been more effective than it should be as far as I remember. But it might be that some maps used to have spots where pre dropping wouldn't be as strong and I just don't recall.
What you described is something I also call the WoO effect because mostly you see players with this perk doing exactly that. It is indeed boring to play against but still so common that I reckon it must be enjoyable enough for the survivor to play like this. If it wasn't then I doubt they'd do it.
There are sadly instances where either side can reduce the other to a mere bot. No thinking involved and no actual interactivity. Some of us could probably do this blindfolded and without sound. You're just following through the motions until it's finally over and you are allowed to actually play again. This is all the more problematic when you think about what both sides do outside of the chase. There is a reason many of us regard chases as the most fun part of DBD and when even that isn't enjoyable because it's more of a chore than an actual high stakes situation, then the game becomes boring and loses its appeal.

Yes. For example: I was playing Xenomorph on Yamaoka map, the chase started at the shack with Felix, after I come up from tunnel, he instantly jumped the window and run to TL loop (left side of the map), At this moment I broke a turret and gone for him.
Felix indeed were having WoO and MFT. I was able to hit him with M2 at the TL loop, and after that he gone "wild" with W-key. So he went to the right side of the map at the JG (jungle gym). Predropped a pallet, which I instantly started breaking, from there he holds W at the small loop right after a window from JG, which is a little higher on the map, predrop a pallet (which I was expecting) and instantly moved to the middle. Now interesting part - Despite me ignoring the second pallet, he was able to reach a pallet on top of the "main building", predropped it and instantly gone through a window which were at the stairs. I ignored the third pallet and dropped from the opening, finally getting closer to him, by the time he dropped the Forth pallet, I was able to hit him over this pallet.
So basically he was able to run me from bottom left - bottom right - middle - top left side of the map, without any reasonable effort (skill). The funny part about all this - he wasn't even looking behind him at least once, after he got first hit.
There were many more situations on different maps (I'm not gonna include the Game map, you know how it is), where it was basically the same thing, but much longer.
From such matches I just imagine how could I struggle if I were playing M1 killer...
-
@Xernoton said:
This is something that I've noticed too but I explain this with too many pallets in general. There are games in which survivors can pre drop every pallet and delay the killer long enough for them to do the gens easily. This is not a big issue for most stronger killers but for someone like Freddy it is.
One solution would be to decrease the overall amount of pallets to a degree where survivors have to play around them or dead zone themselves. But this would cause an issue with killers, that are strong enough to either break through or play around these pallets. Also, newer players are already up for quite a challenge to learn the game, so that wouldn't help either. Increasing the distance between pallets would result in issues with killer powers, that can get these pallets out of the way faster. For example, if a Billy or Bubba plays it right, they will get the pallet out of the way and the survivor makes to the next loop but not much further. This could potentially cause an issue with these 2 (and others) getting free hits after breaking a pallet.
This is really not something easy to fix but definitely worth discussing and thinking about.
I can clearly remember, that not so long ago if you predrop a pallet and instantly go to another pallet - the killer will be able to hit you, if they ignore and go around a predropped pallet. Like the distance between pallets in most of the times didn't allow you (survivor) to do that before. You've had to "force" the killer to break it, if you wanted to be able to reach another pallet or window.
Now it feels like you don't even need to use your brain too much, you don't need to look behind you, just autopilot to a pallet - instantly go to another pallet and repeat, until you reach a dead zone.
My problem with that, as I was saying - it's very boring for both sides, I can not believe that this gameplay is enjoyable even for that survivor.
Multiple games like this will end-up with you getting completely bored out. Which is ironically stupid for the meaning of the games, which is - having fun.

The interaction is also lacking in my games.
But in these kind of games, 3 gens pop in 90 seconds.
I mean, if a killer chasing someone for 2-3 min, it's the killer's fault they losing 3 gens at the beggining. xD
In such matches you (survivor) don't need to do anything aside from gens.
I was talking about situations, where you haven't been hooked even once, but your teammates are on death hook. They should take chases and give their team some time to do gens, aside from being a selfish twat, hiding and hoping for a hatch.
It's not what you call: - "Being a team player".
-
"Imagine complaining about sprint burst or lithe... In 2023..."
-
Taking aggro for death hook teammates is a crucial part of teamplay.
Survivors not participating in a chases - commonly losing in any matches unless they found a hatch (which is stupid).
It's a very selfish gameplay, no one will "pat" you on a head for doing so.
And I don't understand how it could be fun to hide and do gens for a whole match. It makes no sence to me, since DBD is a game about "interaction" between survivors and killers.
-
No.
But the only thing that comes to my mind with such crossover... Cosmetics for Knight and Vittorio.

I think Iron Grasp should be buffed so pallet and flashlight saves don't make the killer drop the survivor.
It should at least instantly fill the wiggle meter up to 40-60%. Otherwise it will be broken as hell.
-
The thing is that (I was saying this for decades), equal skill survivors and killers will have a 100% escape rate, if killer play "fair".
The problem is within killers tiers. Some killers are just not designed to play "fair", if they want to have at least 3k.
With equal or higher skill survivors - killer side isn't looking that attractive.
-
It's not that they are harder to see, they just made them more sporadic and I think they are not working properly, when survivors turning left or right.
It's like they made Lightweight basekit.

@Xernoton said:
That very much depends on how well the Xenomorph and the survivors play. Even more than most other killers.
If the Xenomorph is super aware, keeps track of every survivor's position and is also good with their power, then it is super strong. Definitely a top tier killer. But if the Xenomorph is more of a human and less of a perfect machine and the survivors play well, then it falls off to lower A-tier or highest B-tier (depending on the map) in my opinion.
Missed tail attacks are quite punishing and you can make a lot of distance by using the turrets even if you don't break the Xeno out of their power.
There is 2 things, that I do like about Xeno, and don't like:
- Don't like, that Xeno feels addon dependent (I can't imagine playing without 30% helmet).
- I do like that you don't really need any aura reading perks on Xeno. Constant tunneling will always get you onto them, just by hearing gens.
A really good Xeno main is VERY hard to deal with, but still possible.
One of the most close to being balanced killers, even from first days of PTB.

Chucky is a big licence, denying that is honestly silly.
Not only was he standing with the other 90's horror icons he's also unlike most of them still relevant today. First half of the 3th season of his tvshow aired just last month.
It's underandable to say that Chucky is not your cup of tea but to say he isn't big is delusional. He outlasted the other horror icons by quite a margin
He's honestly one of the biggest ones they didn't have yet outside of Friday the 13th
Apparently it is!
Chucky been confirmed to be the next killer tho.
