Well, good to know.=)

Im wondering, is the Boil over problem about not able to see hook, or the wiggling?
It's falling from hights.
OP probably saying about the room on Howkins (third floor).
There is no hooks around third floor, and not even close, if you go downstairs. There is a VERY BIG drop from a hole on a floor, but it isn't an option since you know how Boil over works.

There is a exploit of hawkins map using boil over it makes impossible to hook a survivor?
From now on you should test your perks on maps just in case we find Racoon stairs 2.0
Agreed. Happened to me once. It was 1 survivor only.
Good thing he wasn't having Unbreakable. Slug did help.

Depends on how you consider "license with big L" really means but Chucky is up there in horror movie icons. You will almost always find him on a top 10 list. 7 movies, TV show up to 3 seasons and a remake. I'd say he's a big license.
I consider based on popularity. Very little ammount of people in my county watched this movie (I didn't) and hardly knows about Chucky.

Can we kindly get exclusive skins for the characters since we have owned the DLC before it got removed and have spent money on the skins since we were told it would not return. ''will mark the last occasion for fans to purchase Stranger Things content in Dead by Daylight'', this is in the post that mentioned that ST would be leaving DBD. After 7 years of playing DBD through its ups and downs and having event cosmetics and rift cosmetics get re--released... its quite aggravating to be honest. Can we please get these rewards for owning the DLC and buying skins prior to removal, im not talking about those who purchased off of 3rd party sites, im only talking about us players who have owned it through steam since release. Those who wanted ST to return win and those who spent money and stuck with the game win as well. For those who disagree can respond while also keeping it a friendly discussion please
My guy, you brought this chapter when it was available. For the same price that others will buy it from now on. So what kind of privilages do you want because of that? It's not our falt that chapter gone off.
I completely don't understand the logic of your message.
If so, YOU already have privilages, since you already got Demo, Steve and Nancy prestiged. While others have to spend the same ammount of money as you did, and only start prestiging them now.

Honestly Springtrap isn't a real contender.
I'm somebody that would like to have him but to tease him with a kitchen knife which is something he hasen't used at all untill the recently released movie in which he had it for like 5-10 minutes would be a horrible way to tease him.
Outside of Chucky though, i have no idea who else it could be. Especially with talk about how this is a big L licence.
All other things i can think of aren't big licences
Chucky isn't a big license too. At least no where near Alien license.
@NoirGhost said:
The teaser for Chapter 30 dropped earlier today, showing a magnetic knife holder, with one knife missing and based on the silhouette it's a large kitchen knife.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/V6SXDTBKFW88/20231107-224132.jpg
Now for various reasons Chucky and Springtrap are the top guesses for this new killer, mainly Chucky in specific. But if it isn't one of these two, who else could fit the bill of using a kitchen knife and consideree "a capital L" licensed killer
Honestly...
How in the hell, looking at this picture, you're saying it's Springtrap...? He has nothing to do with any knives or anything at this picture.
Nothing in this picture showing ANYTHING about Springtrap.
-
I mean... Is Chucky a "license with big L"?
I've never considered Chucky as something big tbh (no offence).
Aside from Xenomorph (Alien). That was actually a License with big L.

The point of such threads imo - to warn the developers, so they will not make the same mistake in the future events.
Even if events are for fun only - they have to be balanced. This event was not balanced at all.
Using the elements of the event (that supposed to be for fun) to take advantage over one side, is not fun for that side.
Tho we don't need to talk about it anymore, devs are pretty much aware long ago about this event.=)

But Friday the 13th: The Game did it. It has to be possible:
That looks very odd for an "Engine update". xD
I'm not an expert in this, but I feel like they just "upgraded" the graphics. Not the engine. (Actually previous graphics were better. xD)
Let's say... The game using Unreal Engine 4 right now. If they want to move it to Unreal Engine 5 - they will need to make the same game, but from scratch, using Unreal Engine 5. Since new Engines works with different (most of the time easier) codes.
Only by this state it's impossible to upgrade the Engine alone.
The developers of Smite (game), are about to create a Smite 2 with new Engine (they want to move from 3 to 4), and players were arguing about it's possibility, since: "You will need to redo all characters and their skins, based on new Unreal Engine 4 from there".
-
The only survivors I'm willingly giving a hatch, are new players who's trying their best and stick to the very end..=)
Giving hatch to a strong survivor players unnessesary imo. They can escape by themselves in the next match.
Sometimes strong survivors even get angry at you for giving a hatch, and they will deny it. (I think it's EGO issues)

It will never happen.
It would divide the players between both games and is a huge risk if it doesn't work. For some reason DbD is the only asymmetric games still alive. BHVR already tried another (Death Garden) and it didn't make it.
DbD is all we have and the only way forward is iterative improvements.
Well I can argue that it WILL happen at some point, not even will - it must.=)
As I said on the other thread (a little different): "The gaming industry not standing still and making improvements to it's engine. Successful games should follow the time and do the same."
Why it would divide playerbase? They can basically make a completely the same gameplay wise game but with better graphics and much easier code. Wouldn't players just go there?
(I mean Death Garden was a completely different game, it doesn't even felt like dbd)
Dbd is "somewhat" ok with the time being, but not for long imo.

I've been meaning to make this post for a while but have been procrastinating. Today, someone asked what we would want in a DBD 2. There's no reason for a DBD 2 because DBD is like the game show Wheel of Fortune.
Let me explain:
Wheel of fortune has a formula that has kept an audience for decades: Spin the Wheel, guess a letter, buy a vowel and solve the puzzle. Over the decades, the game makes tweaks and changes things here and there but never strays from the core.
DBD has a formula that also keeps people coming back: fix 5 generators, unhook teammates, open exit gates and escape (opposite objectives for killers).
There's no reason to make a sequel and like Wheel of Fortune, they just make little tweaks through the years and decades.
I love playing Wheel of Fortune and DBD for the same reasons (I play Wheel of Fortune on Switch). The objectives get you hooked and keep you playing.
At some point, you need to make a sequel.=)
Whether you like it or not, the game industry moving on with a new engines. The games that are "going with the time" much more attractive and desirable.
At least for me. 😋

Adrenaline waking survivors up against Freddy. It wouldn't make him much stronger but why do we need something extra just to destroy Freddy? He has literally no power in end game. And he is already the weakest killer in the game.
Billy's overheat. It's completely pointless. You won't ever overheat as long as you don't play Driftking Billy and all the overheat addons aren't just bad but completely useless. There is no possible way you will get value out of these.
Myers. He is the only killer in this game that even today can completely lose his power. So not only do you lose a good chunk of time to stalk, you also have to micro manage it and run around in the hopes of finding whomever you didn't stalk dry. Worse, you sometimes kill a survivor that still has a lot of stalk left. Basically, you get punished for a survivor playing bad.
Singularity is punished for using its power to get AWAY from the hook. Why? Pretty much every other killer is allowed to use their power in that way. Why not Singularity?
Nemesis zombies can still be blinded by flashlights. They removed special interactions with flashlights on all other killers (even Nurse!) but somehow it's fine for Nemesis. No. Just no.
Knight needs about 3 shacks worth of space in front of him, so he can set down a guard. It feels awful. It's not a balance issue but it makes Knight feel awful. Something else that I hate about him is that you cannot control the orb sideways. Only forward. It feels clunky.
Twins. Victor can randomly die after hitting someone and he can get on top of things and die there as a punishment for, what exactly? Getting a down? Actually, that might beneficial. At least you don't have to suffer the massive 8 seconds cooldown. Why is that still a thing?
Legion can pick up a survivor in frenzy and immediately lose the entire thing. Why not make it like Oni's power where you can preserve a bit of what you have left, so that you can use it again faster?
A survivor can escape the trial with an active bear trap by hatch. When it comes to this, isn't it kind of your own fault, that you still have the trap on? Why do we punish a killer that isn't even that powerful in this situation? Especially now that she can't crouch in front of a box and kill you by pure luck anymore.
Poor Singularity even after a facecamp nerf still can't use his power correctly. xD

Buuuut not for the reason you'd think.
I hate it more as a Survivor as the teammates who use it are becoming more and more common I've noticed they often never take chases, are usually the obsession when killer has stbfl and as a result never take hits ensuring max stacks most of the game.
They often play very immersed and are often a detriment to the team. I see this perk more and more as my matches feel like they're getting even worse for soloq standards.
I'm not saying nerf it or anything as it's a fine perk and often the only counter to strong killers running full tracking builds. But i wish it'd regain tokens for chase time or gen percentage completion to reward good team play instead of hiding and letting your team die.
Actually, you are right.
I've noticed that too. Some survivors just don't take any chases, and in the end game they have... Distortion.
It's hard to tell from a killer side tho. Running onto them on a map is complete random.

The 3% was precisely the most problematic aspect of the perk, and is exactly why everyone has been asking for a nerf for the longest.
This.
MFT imo should be a perk that applies buffs (to\after) healing.
3% speed boost should be a completely different perk. Or should not be in the game at all.
Survivors holding W is strong enough even without 3%.

Imo WoO is there to "fight with map's random".
Is it strong...? I would say yes.
Does it need a nerf? Absolutely not.

Wouldn't solve anything other than split playerbase into longer que times.
People will and can still play seriously and use best things in casual mode, most people would go there anyway so ranked que would be much longer and you would probably have similiar experience but more worse.
This game isn't balanced for serious competetive ranking. Majority of Killers wouldn't be viable againts squads of decent players. SoloQ againts top tier Killers wouldn't stand chance there.
This.
It would end up really bad for your q times.

Because playing as or against 1-2 killers all the time is the fastest way of getting burned out from the game.

Can something please be done about VPN killers? I'm tired of getting killers playing in Asia that have huge ping and make the game unplayable. They also seem to play a lot scummier (camping, tunneling, post game toxicity) than other killers.
Basically, they need to make a "PIng cap", which makes any players that have ping higher than (let's say...) 200, they are unable to join a lobby with players that have 80+.
And there you go. But there is 1 issue, their ping may go up in the match by any point. In this scenario, not you or Devs can do much about it.
I've seen this system in Warframe. Basically it doesn't allowing any player to join a random party, if their ping is higher a cap of 200 or 300 (depends).

You're not a doctor. And they're not your patient. And once again, its not your decision to make for someone else, just so they don't "ruin" your good time.
I don't understand, where are you going with this? Are you trying to teach me some manners in a video game's forum, and completely ignoring the point of it's topic?
Here, I double down it for you:
If I have a random teammate that have some sort off medical conditions that doesn't allow them to play against certain killer roster , thinking that they can safely leave because of that - It's IN MY (and my teammates) RIGHT to judge them the same way I'd judge any other or a healthy person.
If this person have health issues with certain killers and they know it, first and foremost, you should expect a punishment then. If you gonna give up on a hook because of that, not everyone will understand you, and thats ok.
You are playing this games at your own risk, a lot of games even warning the players about "Flashy stuff and etc...".
Medical issues WILL NEVER give you a permission to commit crimes. You will be treated the same as others in this regard.
Now if you excuse me, I know I've said that I'd love to see people's opinion on this thread, this your exact opinion touching a different road.
If you insist, we can continue in a private messages. Would you mind not arguing about it right there in this topic?

A lot of good points both for and against, but he completely missed the lack of parity for killer: There is no way to go next, and there certainly are ways survivors can make the experience just as miserable as killers can do to survivors. I kept waiting for him to bring it up, and was kinda disappointed when it wasn't touched on as an alternative solution.
Killer player's DCs have nothing to do with Team play by any means. The only players who "suffering" from a DC at this point are only killers themselves.
Besides, the match is completely over after a killer DC. And survivors getting an escape points.
Survivors have just a little inconvenience by having to sit through queue again.
I mean, it's obvious. Why would anyone bring killers into this?
1 killer vs 4 survivors (5 players), 1 killer left - 4 players from a match happy and 1 unhappy. And 1 unhappy guy is the one who left the match.
Fair enough.
But when a survivor DC - It's 1 unhappy guy makes other 3 guys expirience be "unhappy" as well, while killer can like it or not.
I personaly as a killer, hate when they do that to their teammates. Since I can't play serious after someone left at first hook or down.
Winning an unfair match for me is not satisfying. Matches like this are losing their point of joy.

I am of the belief that part of the issue with burn-out is that DBD is very uniquely unfun.
In games like CoD, for example, you can get spawncamped. You still have agency, but it may not be pleasant. In DBD, there are certain things either side can do that remove pretty much all agency from you. This, first and foremost, feels absolutely awful to play against. If you start getting it multiple games in a row, you can easily see why it can be extremely frustrating.
Allowing people to DC, would in essence, make them feel like they have some sort of control.
I hate to link content creators into it, but I mostly agree with Scott's take on it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xUcEfHuk9I&ab_channel=ScottJund
I agree.
But making DC as a "legal" action is a very wrong choice of handling this.
Because it's also very frustrating to a player having 1-2+ DCs in a multiple matches. It's not helping at all, since one side that having an "legal option" now, the other side is getting more and more frustrated with their matches because of that.
It's just not how you managing or handling the issue.

The problem is there are perks that encourage you to attempt (slippery meat) so they can never really ban someone for trying to kobe when they have this perk and luck offerings in the game even if you aren't running its considered an intended style of play due to the fact you can create a build for it even if it is bad for your team.
I get it, I know. This is why I agree with people on this thread about removing completely 4% as a whole. It should completely cure this issue.

Less people will play the game, which is already, sort of, becoming a problem. The game is doing fine, but there's been little innovation in the last years and people are burnt out. You know what increases burn out? Banning people for 4%'ing or trying to force them to stay in a miserable game.
Can you imagine the damage that would do? "I got banned because I tried to unhook myself" "I got banned for using the wrong perk"
This game already has a reputation issue, that really wouldn't help things.
The game like Smite have 8k players at it's peak. And they harshly banning left and right with no mercy anyone that have such unhealthy behaviour as DCing. And Smite even older than DBD, and never has any updates in terms of gameplay.
And people were loving what their developers were doing with this unhealthy behaviour.
I mean, what is even your message again...
So If a playerbase got deacreased because of a burn out, then players should be allowed to commit crimes or something?
Excuse me?

No, I don't. I much rather the game to have no bots to be honest
Bots are broken and I already had a bunch of games that were lost because a bot did something stupid
"if you can't have fun with dbd because of that, I suggest you to play other games" - Then why the hell did you wrote this to me? If you are not having fun as well? xD
Having no penalty for DCs will only end up in a matches with multiple bots all the time. So to cure that we need to play other game?
Or should we just have more rough penalty or even a ban possibilities to make people think rationally if they thinking about DC?
No. We just need to prevent players from hook suicides. And leave a penalty as it is. Since some DCs are not just simple rage quits.

I agree that it's a problem that survivor players can leave the match early on and basically destroy their team's chances. The only argument that really moves me is the one where people can't play against one specific killer because of the VFX -- and I agree that that's a problem, too. But if the killer comes up rarely, maybe the answer is to DC against them?
The game can adapt to certain illnesess by the developers making changes to the sources.
Players might not want to adapt to your illnesses, and it's completely in their right.
Again: Medical illness should not give you a permission to breake the rules of all players.
"Oh we're playing against Clown, sorry guys I have motion sickness, so I'm out, good luck!" - Some players will say: "Oh it's ok, don't hurt yourself". But other players can freely say: "Why are you playing this game, if you have a motion sickness then? I don't want to depip because of your sickness, so... *Report*".
And they are not in the wrong here imo. Your sickness should not interfere with other players goals.
IRL ofc it will be different, but in the game it's not. You will be treated the same as a healthy person (as someone else).

They were definitely changed recently.
Bots are the best idea overall. You want the game to die out faster? Ban people for suicides, ban them for AFK'ing, ban them for running to the Killer, ban them for any behavior that seems like it could be throwing.
Make no mistake, if you ban suiciding on hook, people will AFK. If you ban AFK'ing, people will start throwing. If you ban that, they'll run to the Killer or sandbag. If you ban that, they'll refuse to unhook.
See where this goes? You can't fix this issue, all you can do is mitigate it as best you can by accepting it. If people don't want to play, you can't make them. If you're playing in multiple full bot lobbies even with DC penalties on, it might be time to look at your own playstyle because people don't DC often against me and I play like an #########.
Tl;dr people giving up is inevitable, there's no way to change it. Mitigate it via bots and work with it.
Are you even thinking about how many players leaving from this game because of DC-ers? Have you even thought about that?=)
People are getting tired of this, getting tired because their matches being ruined, so what they do? They just simply don't wanna play anymore because of that.
I left 1 MOBA game because of DC and afk issues.

The difference is that if I have an issue with blinds or FOV as a killer I can run Lightborn or Shadowborn. Whether I should have to use aperk to avoid things that make me sick is a different issue is another discussion, but I am able to remedy this in some way. Hell when it comes to light sensitivity, you can choose to dodge lobbies with flashlights altogether at no cost or penalty.
As a survivor, if I get motion sickness from Clown gas, or feel ill from Plague vomit, or develop migraines from the Dredge darkness, I don't have any kind of perk I can run to avoid it. I have to suffer the ill effects from being in the match. The only option is to disconnect (penalized) or kill myself (no penalty). There's a distinct bias towards killers having ways to avoid this that survivors do not. Combine that with the fact that there's 4 players in a match that might have those valid reasons to leave compared to just one and you'll have higher count of it happening.
Short of letting players avoid specific killers or removing the DC penalty, the only solution left is killing yourself on hook.
"Short of letting players avoid specific killers or removing the DC penalty, the only solution left is killing yourself on hook."
Sorry, but... If someone having some medical illness from Clown or Plague as you've said, that just simply means that this game in unhealthy for them and they should stop playing it.
The game can addapt to certain illnesses, I completely agree on that, just like we've had flashlight changes and cross with Clown.
The game can addapt, but players might not want to. Just because you have an unfortunate illness, doesn't mean that you have the right to ignore the game punishments, and be treated differently.
It may sound rude, but you can't make players to addapt to your personal needs.

I personally don't like playing with\against bots, in a pvp game where you supposed to play with\against other players.

You can NOT force people to play LOL
If they don't wanna play, they should not even q into the match. If they still q and ruining matches for everyone - it should be bannable. Since they are doing so at their own risk.
End of story.

if you can't have fun with dbd because of that, I suggest you to play other games
Oh, so you having fun playing with bots in your team I suppose?=)
Thank you for suggestion, let me give a suggestion in return=) : How about players will play the game till the end, and cut the "I can DC If I don't like this killer power"?
As it should be.

Yeah, and you know whats common about those?
- AFKing forces a DC after some time, try it as a killer, just queue up as wraith and do nothing, eventually you'll get DCed if they don't finish the match fast enough. Thus the player gets the penalty for AFKing, and the team gets a bot, assuming the killer doesn't immediately kill the AFK player, which is pretty rare, most killers will ignore the AFK in my experience.
- Sabotaging the game in other ways? What other ways? You mean the ones that are by definition in the report section a bannable offense? You mean like, body blocking survivors? Griefing teammates? Working with the killer? Those are all very bannable offenses. So if someone does those, you report them, they get banned for it and punished. They learn they have to stick it out with the game.
People still have failed to explain to me why other games are able to do this just fine. Why can DotA force people to stay in the match? Can't they just give up? And give themselves to the enemy team? Can't they just grief their teammates? Well no, because all of these behaviors are also strictly and harshly punished as well. So again i ask, what makes DBD so special that you are allowed to ######### over your teammates?
And don't bring in the: "its asymmetrical" part, without succinctly explaining what makes a team based asymmetrical game so special that you are allow to ######### over your teammates just because its asymmetrical?
Have you ever seen people defending this type of behaviour in any other game?=)
