Okay you comment the same thing under every dead hard post, but you don't argue the uncounterable scenario though. So maybe what people are saying about it are valid points?
I appreciate you paying attention to all my Dead Hard posts.
I think it, while still very strong, is balanced enough and far less of a nightmare than it used to be. And i'm sorry if i'm making some rude kind of assumption, but i've noticed that people who have an opinion on Dead Hard are very, very, very happy to keep it, so I'm more than happy to let you.
-
People will never, ever, ever be happy with dead hard no matter if it's balanced or not.

idc about medkits tbh.
That is an opinion you don't share with a lot of people.

Again this is very killer dependant, fast killers have the upper hand, slow killers can be stuck in an open field and the survivor have 2 secs of pickup animation to get in front, and a 3rd to blind, in that time the killer cant do anything to dodge.
But lets say i agreed (i dont), why are so many groups running flashlights, if they are as bad as you claim?
Because getting a flashlight save is hype enough that people are willing to try.
Flashlights are fun, they're just not good. On no planet would you rather see 4 medkits than 4 flashlights.

A 1v3 will still more than likely end before a 15-minute DC timeout. If you think this is some insane 5-head gotcha, you're wrong.
No, it's me inconveniencing them as much as I possibly can, because they've decided to kill their team via babyrage and I think they've earned it.

Honestly I can see why someone wouldn't want to be in a round with you if you think it's ok to hold them hostage in a dead round and try to make them even more bored than they obviously already are. If someone attempted to leave and you're on the killer side, get your win and end your round so you can be in a better one, on the survivor side farm BP. The person you're holding hostage is probably just on their phone or doing something else for the max of 5 minutes, it's only you that's salty...
For no reason, bud. For no reason. Not "oh, someone's dead at 5 gens and I see everyone crouching in bushes", 'cause you know what? I get it. Just a BP game at that point. But that's a reason.
I'm talking "Oh, I did something stupid early on like get grabbed doing a totem, and i'm so angry at my colossal mistake that i'm more than happy to take the WHOLE team down with me!"
'Cause yeah, dude. Sit in that match you queued up for and like it. If you can't handle something going wrong and immediately trying to quit, maybe don't queue up to begin with.
Also, I like the "oh god golly gosh how could you do something so horrible as to H O L D T H E M H O S T A G E they must be so bored" combined with "bet they were just on their phones and didn't even care :)"
Big W's.

Sometimes survivors give you no reasonable choice but to tunnel and get mad for it.
Sometimes killers go far out of their way to tunnel from the very get-go.
People like to make it out like it's all one or the other and I don't get why.

So you just allow them to afk and get rewarded BP 😂
How much BP do you get for being an AFK survivor?

Hopefully.

Ya but it'll also waste time on the killer's end. Always looking for and chasing away potential flashlight savers because apparently it's easier to save now. While somebody else is sitting on gens. They just didn't need to give something in return for getting rid of a broken mechanic.
I don't think anyone would rather take a guy just sitting on gens over a guy who's trying to position for a save and failing.
-
If a survivor gets in front of you quick enough to make use of the extended window, you've made a severe mistake.
If a survivor bringing a flashlight is inexperienced enough to need this window, they're probably going to throw the game for you anyway.
Is it a necessary buff? Probably not. But the only people who might actually need it are the ones who would actually be better off bringing nothing.

To be honest I think I'm enjoying seeing old post be resurrected like this. It's like a relic of past dbd.
Although I do wonder how people even comment on old post considering new post are on the front.
Yeah, but like.. then everyone somehow misses the post date and starts posting, and then everyone's responding to two year old posts, and it's just a conga line of "it's right there dude how did you not see it".

I wouldn't mind if you had to repair a gen for a second or two to actually stop the regression. It won't stop you from making progress, but if you let go before then, it'll just start regressing again.

Literally the only thing you can say about the chat censor is that it does, in fact, censor words.
It works by roulette. Every word in a message has a 30% chance of being censored.

Its not a party game. It destroys friendships and people quit. Like Mario kart....
Maybe its really a party game.
But to be fair there are many people who take mario kart seriously.
Mario Kart at least has consistent courses.
It really makes me think of Mario Party. Sure, you could be better than the other people and beat the minigames, but you rolled bad, didn't get to any stars first and didn't even get the Minigame Star.
Sure, you could be better at the game than the other team, but you got The Game/ a barren Shelter Woods. How good or how poorly the match can go is ridiculously variable with no human input and is decided before the match even begins.
-
It's a party game.
If you think it isn't a party game, you're giving it too much space in your head.

Doesn't seem like something that would be very hard to change, or a big deal to change it. So a quick and easy change to save face.
This might be the single least consequential thing in the game to "save face" about.

Shouldn't it count towards stun challenges? I think it counted once for me but it never happened again, what was the bug - blast mine counting or not counting?
It could have been the Archive bug that eats your progress if you didn't re-select it after starting the game.
Select another challenge, then re-select the stun one to be sure.

Thats not how killswitching works. The entire concept is designed so that individual elements can be removed from live servers temporarily when they fail smoke tests. This is the same type of failed smoke test as when clown was able to permanently haste himself: It didn't cause crashes or anything that disruptive, but it sure as hell created one sided games due to having a significant effect on the gameplay loop and reasonably led to him being killswitched while they worked on a fix. Not switching the map tells the story that they don't think its "that bad," which a dangerous response when considering the game's health and its future. Their pallet spawning logic has been throwing issues ever since the RPD rework, and this map straight up broke it entirely.
Edit: also the Game is a pretty bad example, as its overabundance of safe pallet generation is a pretty unanimous issue as well. Its only defense at this point is that the scarcity of vault generation kinda offsets it a bit.
Yes, but again, they aren't going to killswitch the map they just released for their big update if it's still TECHNICALLY normally playable. Clown took the hit because he was already out for ten thousand years.
I'm not telling you it's good or proper reasoning, I'm just telling you why they did it.
-
The map's bugged, it's not supposed to make that many pallets. They reduced the chances of getting it until they fix it.

This SHOULD be counted as game breaking because it goes against all the pallet logic that they’ve set up.
Like what the ######### is this!? It’s like I’m playing fake pallets on Freddy!
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/6J8D16S1ALGI/image.jpg
There’s these 5, one god pallet to the left, and another 2 right behind me.
I know, and I think the map should absolutely be kill switched, but you CAN still play the game as normal here.
It's not fun, it's not balanced, but like The Game, no one's crashing or becoming invincible or unsaveable or breaking collision. It just sucks.
-
First Survivor game I played today was against a Knight doing this and only this.
Luckily, we all understood what to do pretty quick and due to a serious blunder on his part we all got out. But it could have been MUCH worse if we were a typical solo lobby. Or if he knew what he was doing.
I'll admit, I had a moment of weakness and gave him a bit of a butt dance on the way out.
-
They're not going to kill switch the map they just released for their next big update unless it has something seriously gamebreaking happening.
And yes, having a million pallets sucks, but seriously gamebreaking means crashes, places you can't kill people, broken totem spots, ect. This bug is still within the limits of functionality, so unfortunately, it's not getting killswitched. Which still sucks.
-
As it is, it just seems like self-inflicted slowdown.

With the previous maps being Garden Of Joy and Eyrie Of Crows, and maps like Gideon still existing, my guess is this was intentional.
Then they would tell you it was.
If they apparently have the gall to make and keep these busted maps, then I don't know why you think they'd lie about another one.
-
I don't think they came up with an excuse, I think they just straight-up explained what the problem was.

Old Dead Hard PTSD means the only time there won't be any complaints about this perk is if it outright kills you after you use it.

Either DC (sucks), find them (good luck), or do what I do-- go idle in the basement, staring at the chest.
I may not be very good at hide-and-seek, but I am very spiteful when need be. So i'm willing to wait as long as it takes. Eventually, they realize i'm not looking anymore and get bored. They come down to the basement to see if i'm AFK-- and then they die.

I have legit had times that the game just kicked me all the way back to the loading screen without penalty. Just the other day I was in a match with some Fengs where I had two on hook, was about to pick up a third, and boom back to loading screen. Or as I’m about to leave through the exit gates, boom back to loading screen without penalty. I believe that the game can detect game error vs player deliberately DCing.
i don’t have a problem either way though. If the survivor or killer DC, oh well. I don’t see why people get so bent outta shape about it. Just move on to the next game.
I'd love to move on to the next game, but unfortunately I'm stuck in this one because DbD is somehow a big multiplayer versus game with absolutely 0 DC compensation or forethought past giving me, like, a quarter to go get a gumball or something.
AI teammate? No followup DC penalties? Have 250 bloodpoints. You're welcome.
-
On the other hand, this is gonna make people who aren't very confident with the flashlight give it a try, which is gonna end up with more free 4ks.

It should. I've been told, "There's literally no way for the game to tell, because of the devs' design!" Then it needs to change. Sure, they could just pull the plug to rage quit then, but at least they inconvenience themselves with that, and then everyone else who don't DC on purpose don't have to sit through an arbitrary time lock.
I'll be honest, I don't even really care if it does or not.
If you're experiencing enough connection issues to rack up a noticeable DC ban, I'd maybe take that as a hint.
