I offered evidence that you dismissed because you didn't trust my sources.
- No, I'm not, but I do know programming. I don't need to be a dev to know that doing things the way you said is inefficient and that no programmer worth their salt would do it like that.
- My college professors say Wikipedia is a very reliable source, provided their statements come accompanied by sources, since Wikipedia is essentially an aggregate and summary of reliable sources. The "can be edited by anyone" thing is a fallacy, as was mentioned by @GoodBoyKaru.
- I already explained that I was just referring to the fact that I'd expect people to have a little trust in me after 16k comments.
If I did provide a screenshot of the code and said it'd come from my admin friend (which would've been the truth, he did send me screenshots), you would've dismissed it because you don't trust him, even though I literally told you how you could see for yourself. And, again, I only spoke of my post count in reference to the fact that people should have gotten to know me, that's literally what I said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1659440#Comment_1659440
To reiterate what I said before, it looks like you just wanted to cast doubt for its own sake. Believe me, I won't be bothering a dev again any time soon just because you don't trust my sources. They have better things to do than drop in on random threads to explain the inner workings of the game.

Pretty sure going againts a hacker that suddenly dissapers in front of you when you're about to hit him, cant pick him up or hook him and have video proof should be enough, but like you said, maybe they ban in banwawes, what does that mean?Even if they ban that said player,he still has months to mess around and ruin the experience for others before that happens.Meaning he can spend like 10$ to buy the game every few months and ruin the game for others without a worry. This banwawe system is flawed,a hacker should be banned immediatly if they are 100% sure of it.
Oh I agree and I despise EACs way of doing it, but EAC also can IP/MAC ban if needed. Provided you've got Video evidence of it report them, the proper full way, and they'll be banned.
-
######### sake I was about to post that

I love how you admit to trying to tunnel and then getting annoyed when perks that prevent tunneling come into play lol

Dude, the devs don't even ban toxic SWFs for racist and homophobic chat, you think they're gonna do anything about this. maybe if they check their account and see they haven't bought any cosmetics they'll do something
Considering how I've had friends banned for hacking and chat abuse I'd ask you to check this again :)
-
My first perfect was with Old Freddy at rank 2 and when I say I screamed it's not an understatement. This was before EGC, I think just after the Emblem system was implemented actually, and they had 4 stacks of Dead Hard, Decisive Strike (old), Unbrekabale, and Adrenaline. I had to sweat so much but it was so worth it :)
Legit tho, massive massive massive congrats man!!
-
Do you complete the report process properly, including providing video evidence with a support ticket?
Are you sure they're hacking? People have thought I was speed hacking but I was using Hope, or wallhacking but I was using I'm All Ears.
I've faced like, 3 hackers in my 2k hours over 3 years. I've been friends with like, a further 2 or 3 of them. I'm just curious how you get them daily and the majority of this forum get then rarely if at all.
Also, the developers use Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC). Whilst I despise this program with a passion, at least they have something I guess. How it works is it bans in waves; the developers will input a new hack they've found and then EAC will flag everyone using that hack and at the end of, say, the month, when the ban wave occurs, it'll ban everyone it's flagged. Really dumb imo but I'm not a game dev.

Add whispers basekit for killers and crows show up way quicker when a survivor is not doing any objective (gen, totems, chase, chests) and moving around doesn't stop crows from showing up
I'd hate whispers basekit. Anything on top of dbd's sound makes it impossible to focus, as do multiple notifications (so using discordance is impossible). Having to try my best to hear things and focus on them when I've got whispers in my ear for almost the entire game would be atrocious.
-
Provided you're not breaking in-game rules, or purposefully playing just to ruin everyone's fun, it's fine. You can play how you want, when you want; you can close the endgame chat and stop randoms from commenting on your profile if you need to.

I've never let that stop me from Slinging Death. Don't let it stop you from Heading Pyramids... Yeah, that came out wierd but I'm gonna stand by it.
Although, it helps to acknowledge flaws in a killers gameplay. I'm not a huge fan of lose-lose, so I do like to discuss with reasonable survivors the issue to try and find a potential workaround.
I plan to give that Pyramid Head don't worry :)

I had trouble with it, too. I think I ended up using add-ons.
@GoodBoyKaru do you need to completely uncloak? I thought you could just do a quick ring and run 🤔
I did it with a complete uncloak, mainly because I wanted to win the game, but I'd assume from the wording that hearing the actual bing of the bell is enough. Same with cloaking too; just hearing the bing should be good- best add-ons for this challenge are Swift Hunt (faster uncloak) or Blink (faster cloak) but Blink ones are bad, I'd suggest Windstorm just because you can nyoom.
-
As a Pyramid Head main, go for it. Go all out. Play him to your heart's content; he's really, really fun. It doesn't matter what they think about how you play provided you're not trying your best to intentionally ruin it for them (as in, playing Ghostface, slugging one person for 4 minutes and spending the entire time tbagging their corpse. That was fun to deal with).

uncloack behind a survivor 4 times within the same trial, challenge done.
-
3 of the top row are survivors I play frequently (not you Nea you smell) and I don't think I've used a "crutch" perk more than once in the past 2 months lol
-
I put Wraith as most needing a buff, not because I think he's the weakest but because I think he's the most outdated. His mechanics are remnant of old dbd (where he was the weakest by a looooong shot) but now with killers like Spirit who can come out of Phase instantly, or Ghostface who can stealth instantly and doesn't need the long-ass bing bong, I feel like he needs to be brought up to scratch, desperately.
-
I'd love to but Pyramid Head doesn't have one and I wasn't playing enough during Rift 1 to get the Nurse one :(
When I get back to playing Wraith I will though, just for you.
-
To add to the above the new Mindbreaker, provided it isn't changed from the PTB, may prove to be a very good DH counter
-
Honestly, yeah. I agree. This game can definitely cause your mental health to bomb, and when that happens the best thing you can do is take a break. The feeling of winning gets so addicting that when you don't you best yourself up over and over again and whilst that's good in small amounts to push for improvements it can feel so ######### after only like 3 losses in a row.
Least that's my experience with it, and I have nothing in psychology at all.

"They" can't see the game's code, it's a wiki, i can go edit the page right now to say whatever i want.
You can also edit Wikipedia whenever you want but that doesn't stop the fact admins are aware of any and all changes made and your account gets banned if you get the length of a ship wrong by a couple of millimetres. They're on that #########, trust me.

to be fair it was meant to be earlier than it was but the archives quite literally broke the game (it wouldn't start up lol) so itll probably be in about 2 weeks- it's apparently tied to the tomes again and the rift closes on the 7th so it'll probably be on the 13th/14th

Best way to defend generators? Kill a survivor.
Except whilst you're busy on 1 survivor 3 of them have no pressure applied and can hammer gens, then one goes for the save and the other 2 continue to hammer on gens. You eat a DS because you're trying to get someone out as early as possible, which then causes enough time to be bought for all 5 gens to pop. 3 survivors escape, leaving their one friend on the hook to die as you get 0 emblems.
Tunneling isn't that good of a strategy to win unless you're playing Pyramid Head.
Rather funnily (I know, this may come as a shock), the best way to defend generators is to... actually, physically, go to a generator and defend it! Chase away survivors and begin regression depending on its progress.

Oh ######### man. I'm so sorry, oh my god.
I don't know what to say but considering previous circumstances I really feel like I should say something. I can't exactly give tips on how to cope since I'm in the middle of trying to figure that bullshit out for myself but there've been 2 things thusfar that I've been able to focus on:
- Thinking of all the good times you'd shared.
- Knowing you'll be able to see them again.
The second one is what's mostly keeping me going right now tbf.
Two things I've been told by others too that might bring you some comfort too, idk:
- Make sure you keep her in your memory. Someone only really dies when there's nobody left to think about them
- It doesn't get easier, you just get better at dealing with the pain.
This ######### hurts. I'm so sorry. I hope you're okay man <3

Actually there's a bigger reason for Ghostface; the very last game of dbd I ever got to play with Cheers was vs a Ghostface who camped and tunneled hard at 5 gens and made sure it was as unenjoyable as possible 🙃
Still was fun because it was with Cheers but now every single Ghostface has been ruined for me. Add in his buggy reveal, stalking, and the fact he just gets it on demand and yeah he's just absolutely atrocious to deal with now.
Hit the nail on the head with Spirit and Slinger though.

When I play survivor I'm like "######### sake" and move on. I dc sometimes when I'm sick and tired of the bullshit sometimes (btw don't do this, get anger management classes instead lol).
When I play killer it does the opposite and makes me very happy (depending on the killer I'm playing). Say if I'm playing PH it's like "understandable but you got dunked on", as nurse it makes me laugh bc I was good enough to make them dc, and with wraith I cackle.

Man look i really think this os a bit stupid because its like the cosmétics man 😶 If devs do something like sell legacy on the Store or do some event or create the thing tô choose 2 type of prestiges or idk put legacy as a rift gift everybody Will be happy i think bro
Except the people who own legacy and like it because its exclusive. That's the reason I couldn't get my friends account (that and I was "too bad" at the time of asking); she doesn't want anyone who didn't have to deal with the grind to get it and honestly I kinda agree now. The grind in this game is awful, I can only imagine how ######### it must've been 4 years ago.
I've asked her about this topic before, her response was that she didn't want legacy to return. Ever. It's the one thing she has to show she's an original, who supported the game form the start, if she ever does return. She doesn't want that to be lost, and I do see her reasoning and also agree with it.
-
It obviously depends on where you are, because BHVR hosts their games with Amazon servers so if you're in, say, Russia, they can't establish a server there since there aren't any Amazon servers there. I know there's a pretty massive issue with servers in Africa and I can only hope there's more than the 1 BHVR have, but I'm no expert either.
Also, servers cost money. Lots and lots of money. As in, lots and lots and lots of money.
-
I guess the reason a lot of clown players play like this is because being decent in chase is all he has, no mobility at all. Clearly this man wasn't even that so he had to resort to all of the above and still lost. Kinda funny ngl
-
Look, man, I really really want legacy. I've tried begging my friend for her account (she doesn't play anymore) because she had every killer legacy 3, I've had friends who'd hack it in and "if you don't report it I might do it for you too" (they didn't).
But it's not coming back.
I don't want legacy to come back. Ever. There's no point in legacy being special if you give it out to people, and that's why the majority of people want it; it's rare and it's special. Give it out to everyone it's no longer rare, or special, and people wouldn't use it because they glow.

Oh yeah you really didn't know? Because I actually try for fun trickshots and hit them, I'm not good, every single survivor I've faced since June/July has just been bad. It's got nothing to do with my skill, at all, only that of the survivors, since clearly your skill doesn't matter no matter what you do 🙃

@ClickyClicky said:
I dont see why. You dont need them locked into an animation to get the hit so these maps should be no different.
PH is OP so killer sided maps like hawkins and the game should be a piece of cake for him
I'm well aware you don't need them locked into animations, and his power is good for significantly more than zoning; that's exactly what I try and prove every time I play him. I use my POTD at almost every opportunity I can.
That being said, the way I play him involves following survivors around a loop with ROJ and seeing what they do, before firing it off when they don't expect it, then going for some quickshots and delayed shots mixed up. On maps like DDS and Hawkins, the loops are so short that my playstyle just kinda... doesn't work. It's really sad, but on maps like Haddonfield or maps with longer loops (hi Ormond) it works significantly better. It's probably just me being bad, but throw in the verticality aspect of DDS (you can't actually shoot into shack from the outside, which is fun, and his POTD can't be used on the main building like ever because there are so many spots to jump down or you need to use it up some stairs or round the corner but inside there's nothing so it just stop working) and it makes me sad.
Also, Pyramid Head isn't OP; far from it. He's incredibly overbearing in chases and I hope he gets toned down slightly (and if you tunnel as Pyramid Head by abusing cages you're bad, that's just the tea) but he definitely isn't OP.
-
@CrowVortex said:
I find the opposite tbh, with Pyramid head. Depending on the layout of which Haddonfield you get, you're not gonna hit your ranged attack on windows that have a drop. Add in the fact most layouts have a near infinite with some of the houses. Dead Dawg seems fine for any killer, it's not too big and there's no nasty loops.
Hawkins is good for him and his trail, you can certainly force torment there. While there is a lot of pallets, majority are unsafe so you should get a hit, not to mention easier to hit his ranged attack there with the narrow corridors.
The narrow corridoors are actually why I find Haddonfield to be so good, combined with the fact you can place trials under windows with drops to force torment. You can easily use your ability around the map.
Saloon I hate because you just... don't use your power. That's how you win. You just don't use it because it doesn't work- there are too many slight increases in the ground to do so and it just fails and you're like "######### me i guess". Hawkins it's the same- you just don't use your Punishment Of The Damned to get hits because all the loops are so short you can't use it to zone or get the hit. You'd use your trails and... that's it. It's boring. Plus the centre room with the catwalks- no hope of even thinking of using your ability.
And anyone who's seen me play knows my favourite part of using PH is using POTD as much as is humanly possible; I play for fun, not to win.
-
@Elena said:
I think there's certain maps killers are good and bad on, Huntress for example, she suffers terribly on indoor maps like Hawkins, but can get hatchet snipes on outdoor maps.
Oh yeah, definitely. I just find it hilarious how maps that are usually so killer sided become his worst nightmare whilst Haddonfield is a walk in the park lol.
-
So since I main Pyramid Head I'm allowed to complain about his lose/lose and how I'm really really glad he got changed to be a lot more skill and prediction based?
Thanks man! :D

I like to imagine Frank and Julie bop it to Kill This Love by BLACKPINK when they're alone together and Frank, despite being into metal, has a soft spot for Kpop and its rather thematic (because they're dating and they kill and... Yeah you know what I mean).
Also Wolf In Sheep's Clothing by Set it Off for Susie.
I hate legion but since they were just modern teens at one point it's easier to imagine for them than others.
Plague definitely listens to the Rapping For Jesus remix "Christian Circulation" over the original though.
Oh ######### also My Demons for Spirit.

But I always thought they were supposed to do that except for killer perks like thrilling tremors?
I mean personally I always use repressed alliance because I'm too stubborn on switching out a character's 3 personals with a 4th different perk. And when I hop of a gen a see ruin I always saw no point in blocking a gen because it's going to regress anyway. Maybe it'll only regress when it's a killer perk, but for perks like repressed alliance then it'll stop the regression maybe ruin could negate that though idk. I'm on xbox so pc players are going to have some fun for little while. :/
If you block a gen through any means it's progression cannot change. This includes perks like Dead Man's Switch and Thrilling Tremours but also Repressed Alliance. It will not begin regressing until after it has become unblocked.
-
Can confirm please do this and make sure your voices are heard.
