  • Why do people find things frustrating and unfun when they actually have to work for it and they can't just blow through it in 5 hours?

If it was easier/faster people would be complaining it isn't challenging enough/we wait too long for the new Achive for how long it lasts.

  • I don't care about pips, but going against high purple-red rank survivors as a Green killer is no fun because high purple-red rank players (mostly) bully lower ranked players and are tryhard af.

  • "Every one of the killer objectives can be done in a single match"

    Woah.

How do you sacrifice 13 Survivors in one match????

Shhh you're gonna get peanits in trouble for saying too much. He's my favorite dev

Peanits is bestboi, and that's a fact.

  • They are all possible. Sometimes they don't get recorded correctly, or at all though.

  • There is another thread 'bout this.

Peanits already posted that they are looking into it.

  • Adam's Mom. Or something.

  • @Peanits "Post edited by Not_Queen" 🤔

Edit: Oh I see now. Removed quote to hide it.

Anyway the flaps are awful and need to go.

  • I just looked over them and thought this immediately, especially the pallet one.People are just going to be slamming all the pallets while being chased to get it as fast as possible.

  • Update the UI by adding a "being chased" indicator so Survivors know if someone is being chased. Also a Totem counter if you are running Small Game.

  • PGtW is better than Overcharge once players start to consistently beat the skill check.

  • Considering time and money spent on Cosmetics she'll never be replaced/removed. The same goes for every other killer.

I think there are a lot of things that determine what kind of players you usually come across, including platform, rank, and region. I play on PS4, and pretty much wherever I am in rank I get camped and tunneled out of the game. It's not just common: it's the norm. Getting left to die on my first hook and getting farmed are also pretty common. My fellow solos rarely run BT.

I do not see moris or iri heads or things like that very often, though.

    This.

Also on PS4 and literally just had a game where:

    • The first player got hooked pretty quick
    • Nearby gen pops and the second player unhooks them
    • Killer (Demo) downed second player quickly and hooked them
    • Demo starts chasing after the third player
    • Second player gets unhooked by the first
    • They both ran over to me (they were both running Bond) and I healed them both
    • Left the nearly completed gen for them so I could go and unhook the third guy
    • Demo was camping(ish) but I have BT so I pulled the hooked guy off. Gen pops.
    • Got downed eventually and get hooked. Demo proceeds to basically facecamp.
    • Other three survivors pop another gen then split up, two go to different gens and the third player goes to the basement
    • Third player finds a med kit and heals himself, Demo continues to camp
    • No one attempts to even come close to the hook and I eventually die.

Hopefully they were able to capitalize on the camping and make it out of there.

  • If I am at the exit and the Killer is nearby I'll usually let them hit me before I leave. Even if it downs me. I do not teabag and I do not sit around if they are not nearby. I do this to give them a few more BP, I've already escaped and I don't mind giving them another hit.

Sometimes, if we really stomp, I'll even offer myself up to the Killer instead of escaping. I care about BP but I know how it feels to get completely stomped by Survivors when you are trying to learn a new Killer, or still getting your barrings.

I'd suggest going back and looking at recent updates, there are good changes for both sides. Just recently instaheals, one of the biggest pains for killers, were gutted. We're not picking favourites here, it's pretty even if you look at the whole picture and not just a select few changes.

"Gutted" is a little strong. They are different now, weaker sure, but they aren't "gutted". ?

If you're on PC, you can click the little arrow next to the chat bar to disable it.

Trust me, the people who bully and abuse killers are the same kind of people that DC when the killer is better than them. It's a long trek, but playing killer is worth it in the end. Chin up!

PS4. And by "bullying" I mean groups that swarm you and at least 50% of them have flashlights and they basically just roll over you and fool around at the end game because they know they have complete control.

I know its worth it, I'm just not stubborn enough sometimes to deal with it. lol

I've been watching both my games (killer main) and Mrs JawsIsTheNextKiller's (survivor main) and both sets of games always have the survivors 3-6 levels above the killer's level (whether we are the survivor or the killer). A green rank killer should never be matched with a red rank SWF, I don't care that it is within 6 ranks. It's a complete mismatch.

Are you in EU? I don't know if this is just an EU problem.

NA. Eastern Canada to be more specific.

I think its just poor matchmaking combined with the difficulty of ranking as a Killer. As in, there are so few Killers at any given time at red/high purple ranks that they reduce the wait time for red/purple rank survivors by matching them with a Killer 5-8 ranks below them. Its just... not fun.

  • Currently Green Ranked as a Killer and I get matched with purple/red survivors every game. I dropped Killer for a long time due to weird stress and anxiety I get when I play poorly or when I get "bullied" by good survivors/SWF and this isn't helping at all.

A good team will pop her traps when she is unable to react making her waste lots of time reseting her traps over and over.

    So she has counterplay.

Other than when you are hooking someone when can she not react to her traps? You should drop chases to teleport basically every time they go off.

  • DC counts as a Kill.

Honestly I have mixed feeling about someone hen they DC. Mainly I pity them because I wonder how much they think their own time is worth, and realize they don't think it is worth much if any at all.

  • Is Clown really that bad? I keep seeing him at the bottom of lists.

]: I really enjoy using him and feel like I do fine. Sad to see he is considered the weakest while being, possibly, the least popular Killer.

Again that is just taking the users that ask these questions which is mainly from here. What number are those? Are they the same Twitter users on the forum? Without any of the data it's purely subjective.

There is also no data to see how they are performing and one of the devs stated not long ago the kill/ratio hasn't changed mich with them. I understand you don't like the change but that is soley your opinion along with a tiny amount of hours voicing it. Thete will be more of course by the same could be said for those that don't mind or like the change as those who want to complain always shout the loudest.

DS can be removed from the game. You can eat it or slug for 60s. Both ways work and it's a choice which one you choose. You are just seeing what can't be done and ignoring what can be to fit your viewpoint.

Again you are only seeing what you want to see with one sides changes and ignoring all the ones to the other.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/827234#Comment_827234

What you just stated there was unless you have good muscle memory I.E take the time to learn and be good with them you won't do well then you won't do well. Isn't that how it should be? Should players who aren't willing to learn really be good with a killer?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/827274#Comment_827274

They do listen to feedback as I said. The Nurse feedback is being taking into consideration but these changes aren't as simple to see flaws in as one perk change as most complaints are about fun and how clunky she feels but that alone is subjective to the player.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/827325#Comment_827325

The same counter argument applies for what data there is to show she is no longer performing and that most users dont find her fun.

Yes I don't have the data and never claimed too I simply pointed out the argument some of the posters here are using cant be used as a reflection of the whole userbase's thoughts when stating she is garbage now or the players dont find her fun as thats an opinion.

Its all subjective to what we see and why I said they devs are collating data and that takes time.

I never once stated all posts are rants. There is a lot of good constructive feedback from a lot of users which is good for the devs.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/827345#Comment_827345

So because you personally dislike them then no one can enjoy playing them?

There is a user who posted a few above yours that mains legion who states they are not horrible is thier or my opinion not worth as much as yours?

I'd argue that is what those who state all players can see they are now horrible are the ones doing dismissive and yes a jaded viewpoint as they beleive their opinion is shared by all.

Legion needs some love and is prefer a total rework personally. Always remember a killer who could vault windows and pallets was one of the most asked for by the community over the years. That is a great example of what the community believes would be good doesnt always translate well in game.

LMAO. I never said anything of the sort. I was pointing out how you basically said that if all Legion mains don't agree they are horrible then the opinion of anyone who says they are are jaded and thus their opinion can be, justifiably, ignored.

Also, I never said anything about my opinion of Legion. I have just stated the fact that they are poorly designed. You can not argue this point. BHVR themselves have more or less stated that Lgion is poorly designed and (nearly) impossible to balance. Their power and the way everything works is poor design. It is either broken or on the verge of being broken, one way or the other.

  • Isn't Clown the least used Killer? That might be a reason as to why he hasn't been looked at since basically his release, popularity.

The killer does no work for NoED. It's a crutch baby perk that's the equivelant of calling an older sibling to do a Mario level for you.

Adrenaline also only heals one state and gives Exhaustion. It doesn't heal dying to healthy.

The speed boost from Adrenaline is also only temporary, compared to the permanent of NoED.

NoED isn't permanent and Survivors can completely get rid of it, causing the Killer to have one less perk. Like, are you serious? Survivors just play the game to get Adreneline. How do they have to work for it?

@8obot1c Or, I dunno, cleanse totems?

I know, I know, cleansing totems is really tough and you need to be really skilled to do it. But trust me, it works.

  • Why would you even get hit by a pallet with Spirit? Your mindgames occur mainly at Pallets, so you can mind game hard by stopping before pallet, using your power, and spooking them.

What I mean is: Respect Pallets.

It wasn't sudden.. at least on PC. It's been a growing thing since last year when they changed Prayer Beads. I know that's when I started playing her a lot at least and people didn't know how to react to that, then... and most still don't. Survivors were complaining about it since. Her other addons are something else too, and she doesn't take long to master-- at least like it took for Nurse or Hillbilly.

And speaking of Nurse, when she came out, she was considered #########. It took a while before people learned her and the devs didn't even know how good she could be.. and it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't find out until a year later. Spirit is the same way, except, like I said, a lot easier to pick up. It's no surprise BHVR says she's overperforming; none at all. So, as more players try to find a strong killer, the more popular Spirit becomes and from that, the focus.

Prayer beads are understandable however, Even about 4 months ago people were saying Spirit was strong but fair, and even balanced. I'm just not sure what it is. Everyone is acting like Spirit has become better, or something changed. If it is because people have FINALLY learned how to use her perfectly, then that counters your point that she is easy because she's been out for... a while. Also, have Survivor's just not been learning how to play against her? Why is that?

  • I don't encounter this many moris, I rarely encounter them actually, but I die a lot. Moris are unfun though. I dislike them immensely both as a Killer and Survivor.

    I'm probably just bad though.

Let me outline the match for those who think I did nothing.

    I got 3 gens done, 1 by myself and 2 co-op.

I unhooked 3 people, and healed 2 of them

the killer didn't want to chase me after the unhook, which was unfortunate for the unhooked person. 3 out of 4 of us escaped at the end.

I did actually pallet stun the killer but again, they didn't want me for some reason

Most of this didn't happen. If it did you would have at least safety pipped.

I don't know why people feel the need to blatantly lie to try and exaggerate a problem and think it proves their point.

Woo is underrated, even if you know the tiles, pallets can be used and Woo helps you prepare for this.

But is it worth the perk slot? Is it worth replacing another perk for it? I don't think so and that's why I don't think it is B Tier. Sure, its useful but comparatively does it give you enough to be used over something else? I would say no, almost never.

The only time I found it useful was when you could see "shadows" through the pallets/vault Auras and could track the movement of Killers and other Survivors. It didn't give you much information about how far exactly they were, but it let you know in what direction they were and where they were going. But that was abusing a bug and that's not good.

I disagree with the placement of Alert but that's just my bias since its my fave perk in the entire game as a purely Solo player.

  • @Zoldyar

"Gens can be done in 400 seconds if the killer does make to stop a surivior from gen rushing."

400 seconds? If only one Gen is getting done at a time, by one survivor alone, sure, but this isn't Gen Rush and is not realistic.

"If you are a killer that can end chases quickly, a game can go quicker than a surivior gen rushing."

Yes, obviously, but some Survivors are really good and if they get to a Loop they know well then they can continue it for a long time. After a certain amount of time the Killer needs to leave the chase, otherwise they are wasting time and screwing themselves.

"Furthermore, killers such as Nurse, Spirit, Demogorgon, Hibilly, Freddy, ghost face and hag are all killers that can win games even if a surivior gen rush them. This is because they can put map pressure to prevent suriviors from doing gens and can end chases quickly."

    🤔

You do know what "gen rush" is right? You say these Killers can win games when gen rushed by... preventing gen rush. Sure, they can prevent it but you can't prevent something that's already happened.

  • So much to read. I'll get to it all but I've read up to the Totem ideas and have to just point out that none of these are really... "fun" or make things more "fun". These are just huge, HUGE buffs to Ruin. Is Ruin fun? I would say no but maybe you think it is?

While most Killers already run Ruin, many don't because they make use of other perks but these changes would make Ruin the defacto best Perk in the entire game since it slows down at least 1 gen every game, and probably 2, and being restricted to only one Hex Totem perk would further push people away from experimenting with other Totem perks.

Really, with these suggested changes, you can come to the conclusion that:

    1) The Killer has Ruin

    But if they don't

    2) The Killer has NOED

There would be no reason to run any other Totem perk and even here NOED would be used way, way less than Ruin because it isn't active till late game, after totems are revealed.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/827166#Comment_827166

That's highly subjective and I would like to see the data you have that shows Legion is horrible for all the users who play them as otherwise it's just an opinion.

DS while still strong can be removed from the game entirely and it does it's job both as an anti tunnel perk and a time waster as slugging and chasing another means one other survivor if off gens to pick them up. It's understandable for 3nduring not yo work with DS as making it an anti tunnel perk that did it's job too well.

The only issue with DS is at end game which needs looked at.

Why do you need Data to prove that Legion is "horrible" for all Legion players after the changes, otherwise anyone's concerns/complaints are just jaded opinions? Like what. If this isn't the definition of "dismissive" then I don't know what is.

Legion is poorly designed, they were on release and they still are.

    I consider Plague underrated.

And Huntress is too map reliant to put her any higher than this.

Sure, she is pretty map reliant but so is Billy. I just can't see how the Plague, currently, is a better choice compared to the Huntress when being used by players of equal (high)skill.

Not that it really matters in the end lol.

Well, I always found her annoying to go against since her launch but it wasn't much of a problem for me because people didn't play her that much and those who did weren't really that good. I guess it was the same for other people as well.

I genuinely dislike going against her and this is coming from someone who loves going against nurse (and I really don't like the basekit changes) so it's not because she isn't loopable or anything. Constantly going against spirit makes me want to stop playing the game. I don't have this problem with any other killer.

Also, the devs said that she was overperforming and if that's true, she probably has a very high kill ratio and that has nothing do with her being unfun to go against.

But Freddy has the highest Kill Rate right now. Does this mean she is expected to get less kills and they have a bar set for each Killer that is different and when one beats it they are now "overperforming"? Would this explain why weaker killers are ignored for the most part, because they are working as intended with a lower Killer rate than the average?

    Hmmm. ?

  • Change Prayer Beads. They are BS and ridiculously OP.

And as for the "no counterplay when she mind games you at pallets" can some one please explain to me when this all of a sudden became "unfun", "unfair" and "uncouterable"? Specifically, if you can provide the info, what changes have been made that has made it so?

  • @arslaN said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/102641/which-killer-do-you-wager-players-will-complain-about-being-unfun-next

Legion ignored all gameplay mechanics and literally had no counterplay. That's why they were annoying to go against. Your skill didn't matter at all, you couldn't do anything about them mindlessly stabbing you. If you can't see why he was changed, I don't know what to tell you.

Spirit has the same issue, you are mostly doing guessing games as survivor, where your skill doesn't really matter much. There are of course some strats you can do but it mostly comes down to, I hope she makes a mistake or I guessed right.

Nobody wants her to be trash, the devs are the ones making unnecessary changes most of the time.

These sorts of threads are useless and they are only fueling the constant hate between survivors and killers

I know Legion was broken, and unfun to play against. They had 0 counterplay. However, this does not mean that it was right to promote and support changes that would remove their identity and to DC against them as a sort of protest until changes were made.

And my point, again, is that no one complained about the Spirit, or considered her unfun, until quite recently, based on, it seems, nothing more than the fact that they need a Killer to widely label as unfun.

She has not changed at all since the Legion changes and she does not use any of the perks released since then. She was considered, for the most part, high tier and, usually, quite balanced. Hell, a few months before that people were still arguing she was weak.

Except Prayer Beads. F Prayer Beads.
