Yet another necroed thread, but:
-
RP walk? There’s a term I’ve never heard of.
-
The wreaths and flowers are not worth burning. Especially when another yellow offering (pudding/escape cake) has quadruple the max potential payout as the green flowers/wreaths.
-
I say on this on every thread, but I had a message containing only the letter ‘y’ censored.
-
Currently, I’m doing a solo Terraria master mode playthrough on the drunk seed. 100%’ing Kirby’s new game was substantially faster than expected, so I’m currently kinda in-between ‘side’ games right now.
I’ve been putting off finishing Lobotomy Corp., so that might be next. A Subnautica Below Zero got cut short when my pc overheated, so restarting that might be next as well, provided the save file was spared through steam’s cloud.
-
I think it’s because the animation goes outside the ‘pill’ that is a survivor’s hitbox. That, and the pill itself may actually move when doing this kind of action. It’s still there, it’s just displaced.
-
this.

Isn't she listed as 'Average' Height?
Listed as, yes. She’s quite clearly a ‘tall’ killer, though

Well, evil incarnate kinda have the same issue... but it is doable.
Well yes, but Rancor only triggers when the gates have been powered. By that alone, you got substantially less time to get it going.
-
Even if you get two off, by then the other two will realise what’s going on and stop trying to stun you. They’d really need to give it to you if you want a full 4-mori game.

Everyone started at 0.

Killers are either an army of replicants - or the only continuous sources of unnatural life powered by the Entity.
What happens after the match? They bide their time during the day and wait for night to fall so that they can sacrifice the survivors to their god.
From the tomes, it sounds like after escaping - there is a strange nightmare land of dream logic that keeps survivors and killers alike wandering aimlessly. It seems hard to survive with an inhospitable landscape. Survivors always find themselves around a campfire at dusk and go to sleep - waking up within a trial in the early AMs alongside the killer.
The cycle repeats. Hence the name Dead By Daylight. The Trials occur every night.
Although some maps insinuate that they can be carried out in the early morning hours as well.
Small correction, there’s no ‘daytime’ in the Entity’s realm.
I forget which one specifically, but one of Ghostface’s perks/add-on flavour texts suggests the night is indefinite.
Beyond that, Coldwind is supposedly in daylight (even though the ‘sun’ is just a really bright moon if you look closely.)
-
The Entity existed before the creation of our current calendar, so even if it has one, we’ll never know when it is.

@DrDeepwound yea, but in 2 hours (limit time before refunding is refused), you will almost certainly be camped at least once because low mmr killers use this strategy a lot.
@StarLost if you were not happy with it, you had enough time to leave: within the 2 trying hours, you could easily have left the game if it did not please you, because low mmr killers camp you almost certainly got at least one.
@GoshJosh I never said that, but at this point there are so many cheesy strategies that give easy wins on both sides that this game is not really skilled based.
You say all that, but stand with it not being an issue?

there's also a room in the middle you can go up from though, the one with the library and the really obvious totem spawn.
That’s still in a corner. There’s no ‘middle room’ containing stairs. There’s only the chemistry class that has a drop and no way back up.
-
It’s not that it’s hard to orient yourself, it’s hard to get around. It’s 2 floors, but you can only get to the second from the corners, one which even being blocked off by breakable walls.
-
This has been a thing since DbD’s conception.
Also, it’s a cap on ‘natural’ BP gain. That is to say, once you hit a million, you can no longer get any more from matches (and dailies, I think?)
-
80% still means 20% don’t run it.

Sadako is 4.6
Trapper is 4.100000000000000000000000000000000000000000
he is so fast lol
So... he's slower than Sadako?
4,1000~ is still 4,1.

Emblem reduction, not MMR.
grades =/= MMR

Apparently I never looked at it and thanks to you I did and now I hate it.
why is there a teapot?! What is it standing on?
Guessing it's Charlotte's pack from her default appearance.
-
I think it’s more like StBFL works the best on Demo. I wouldn’t say it’s its best perk, per se.
-
Apparently, the game doesn’t wait until all players have loaded to actually start the match. Dunno why.

Iron will. Is it a bear biting something? And that "something" Is it iron or a bamboo stick. I legit don't know
I think it’s someone (presumably Jake himself) biting down on something to stop himself from crying out in pain, or to focus on instead of it.
As for my own:
It took me 2k hours to realise Beast of Prey was in fact not a wolf, but a bear.
Coulrophobia?? How does the fear of clowns interfere with healing?
Yoichi’s Dark Theory is one of the images on the tape, I think, but I’m not sure what it even is.
-
That’s bannable. If you were unable to move for an extended period, it’s bannable.
-
REsistance is still alive?
Also, it’s matchmaking that’s causing your issue here. Not balance per se.
-
Eh, he’s alright. Kinda annoying if he’s good. Faced one yesterday on Eyrie that had no clue what he was doing. He only ‘did the thing’ once and got like 2 hooks.

Dead hard nerf coming....... with the next tome (since leaks said it will tackle david's story again) I bet.
If not then idk anymore.
Presumably, the next tome releases when the mid-chapter goes live. We already know DH is untouched, so…’fraid not.
Also, no leaks on the forums.
-
Balanced? No. But it can be made to feel substantially better to play.
-
Ah, but seeing “how fair you’ve been matched” wasn’t happening ever since the whole grade system was introduced.
It’s just to stop the very persistent confusion, just like many have asked. Now to replace them with the player characters’ portraits and people might finally realise.
-
Like all the other prime skins, this one looks like it was pulled straight from another event/release.
Artist’s outfits are her greens. She didn’t have any on release, unlike all other original killers.
Jake’s was part of the collection that Yui’s make-up/without make-up came with.
Blight’s should’ve come along with the frozen killer collection that Artist’s, Spirit’s and GF’s skins came with.
Dwight’s was part of the Valentine’s collection.
This one very clearly was pulled from the most recent rift.
Feels kinda gross, ngl.
-
Whatever happened to BHVR’s reputation of creating bugs in places you’d never expect them?
I’m convinced Midwich’s hooks in particular is a bug, not a ‘shadownerf’.

“Remember: It’s a game. Games should be winnable, otherwise there’s no point. Even Saw, at very least, offers the victims the idea that they could escape, until they realise that the trap was rigged from the start. This doesn’t do that.”
To play Devil’s advocate, you do have the idea you could escape. You have the hope that your key isn’t in the box Pig is guarding. If it is the box, you then have the hope that your teammates know the strategy to counter this and you can find hatch in time. We know unlike John, Amanda rigged the traps so there was no chance of escape.
Well yes, I sorta have to agree there. Though I have to add that the 'you were dead from the start' thing is only revealed at the end, not very early on in the match. Regardless, character/lore accuracy should be one of the last things to consider when it comes to this, imo. Moreover, I highly doubt the devs intended this, so it's not like they went "that's so Amanda" when they designed it, or whatever.

No, games create scenarios that may be un-winnable sometimes.
Its not a great mechanic but it’s also not the end of the world.
There are lots of games that can create a zero sum un-winnable scenario.
Also it’s not immediately unwinnable, I’ve had plenty of games where every survivor got the traps off, it’s just very RNG heavy.
The idea that all games should be fair and balanced and consistently winnable for everyone involved is deluded. It’s online pvp with a lot of varied abusable mechanics, it’s gonna be zero sum sometimes.
I think survivor would be much more exciting to play if more games were zero sum and you had no guarantees of escape much like a real survival horror experience.
It’s still possible to hatch out against it, it’s really hard but possible. My team has done it twice. I’ve also died once to it with a head pop. I’ve seen it played twice only in random games. The first time we escaped was a kill your friends match where we played around with how to counter it and found a working counter.
Yeah the one time I faced it solo my head popped, but it became a race to get as many blood points as I could before I went down. It was actually kinda desperate and fun.
Look at all the overreaction posts across all the afk pig threads…
“I can’t believe people defend this play style”
”I’d never do this in game. Its horrible”
”It robs people of their license to play”
”It should be banned”
”toxic blah blah blah”
Its nuts. This community is completely nuts with overreaction about a game.
I can imagine what it would be like playing a boardgame with a lot of this community they’d be screaming, huffy, dice throwing, table flipping children if things didn’t go exactly as they wanted them to.
The equivalency to a board game would look more like 1 player constantly being forced to skip a turn because the player opposite them has tons of "the person in front of you must skip their turn" cards. Is it within the game's rules? No one questions that. Did any player intentionally grief that specific player? No, not really, it's just how the cookie crumbles. They could swap seats, but then another player gets to eat the stacked deck.
Actually, that's not too applicable, 'cause the Pig is standing still. The equivalence would be that the sucker doesn't get to win because they so-happened to be seated across that one guy with a trump card that says "the person opposite you cannot win the match, they can only help their teammates."
Yes, you can have a laugh at RNG screwing that one sucker over, but you also cannot blame them for being a teensy bit miffed that their chances for victory (or even a normal game, for that matter) were denied. Not everyone is the best of sports, and you cannot ask them to be in full control of their emotions. Yes, it's a game, and yes, I am maybe taking this too seriously for my own good. But in this specific case the Pig is standing still, doing nothing. Occassional RNG screwing you over is fine, it's what makes games like Binding of Isaac and various deck-building games so satisfying. But that's culiminations of poor RNG, not another player choosing to sit still and do nothing.
Not to mention that it's entirely possible for more than 1 survivor to be the 'sucker' in this scenario. The 'counterplay' folks mention here fails to account for that/those other survivor(s). Someone even said something akin to "sucks to be u, but there's nothing you can do". That's simple BS.
I'm not calling for bans. That's an overreaction, I'll give you that. Same for calling it "toxic gameplay".
If, somehow, you (generally speaking) have missed my main issue with this whole thing, it's simply that standing still, doing nothing, should not result in a guaranteed death because of sheer RNG. You say yourself that DbD is RNG-heavy, and I'm not denying that. But to make the most out of it, it still requires player input. This requires less input than a facecamping Bubba.
Things being rare should not trump the notion of something just being BS, and "AFK" Pig is just that, BS.
I think I've said everything I have to say on this. I think I won't be able to convince you, so I'll leave it there.
-
I've had this happen when I and another survivor readied up on the exact same frame. Unreadying and readying fixed it.
-
Very rarely.

Yeah its whining.
I had one game against a mechanic that made me die boo hoo. Is all it is.
Try this if you encounter it.
Oh man its me that's gonna go pop, try and finish a gen or whatever you want to do and then laugh oh well its only a game and move on.
Oh I didn't get many blood points this game that's ok its an imaginary meaningless currency that comes from an infinite soucre providing you just keep playing.
Here we have a character based on the saw franchise and someone found a way to create a hopeless scenario that really emulates the saw franchise.
Spoiler alert the bad guy lies on the floor all movie then kills the guy who can't escape. I'd say AFK pig is right on the ######### money theme wise.
Bit its not faiiiirr waahhhhh!, learn to laugh safe in the knowledge it will probably be patched out eventually.
I think you are wildly misinterpreting my emotions regarding this. I’m not “whining”, I’m despondent because this is yet another thing solo queue’s just cannot reliable handle. I just want to play the game and consistently stand a decent chance to win. I don’t need to win every game, I very much don’t.
Yes, it’s very much in-character for the Pig, and to a degree I can appreciate that. But I have been facecamped/seen facecamps far too many times for me not to be highly opposed against this even cheaper strategy. I don’t care how effective it is, I don’t care how ‘fun’ it is for the pig themselves, nothing and nobody should be able to change the end-state of a match by standing still and doing #########-all.
Remember: It’s a game. Games should be winnable, otherwise there’s no point. Even Saw, at very least, offers the victims the idea that they could escape, until they realise that the trap was rigged from the start. This doesn’t do that.

Meg and Nemesis, if I'm choosing for perks + character only. Maybe Artist.

I've always thought if you WILLINGLY are closer to the Killer for more than 2sec you become exposed and go down in 1 hit. That way Survivors can't do that stupid stand in the door way so you can't get through.
There is so much wrong with this I can’t.
-
Is this bait?
-
Remember that survivors have a third-person camera. They can see far more than the character would be able to.
As for the stalking thing, that’s been a thing since forever. Michael also suffers from this.

It shouldn't be bannable what a gross overreaction.
It won't require nerfs either all that needs to happen is boxes can be accessed by all directions, similar to unhooks. Solved.
Till then just role with it, its pretty rare to see and not the end of the world.
Uh, no. Did you not see the issue I myself brought up that with your ‘solution’ the pig can just hit ‘em off or even grab ‘em, regardless of the side?
It’s not at all like unhooks that take 2 seconds to do.
-
It takes tile knowledge and timing, at the very least.
-
Last I heard was that Legion was pretty good at racking up emblems.
-
Almost like it would be borderline broken if it consistently denied hooks on its own.
That's not to say if couldn't do with another effect, but this is one of those perks that could become very, very strong if overtuned.
Also, regarding useless perks, there's always the other Ash teachable.
-
Why is the conversation about whether it should be bannable? I don't care whether it's bannable, it shouldn't be possible to do in the first place.
-
Getting the 4k would be the best. It doesn't prevent the slugging-for-the-4k scenarios, but at that point I would so the same.
When survivors only need to escape, even through the hatch, killer ones are unreasonably hard in comparison.
