Thank you so much, my friend, it is an honor to hear that from the most dedicated Myers player in the Fog.
We sure love those horror icons, don't we?
Thank you, my friend!
It has been quite a long journey for Freddy, over four years, but I am confident it will end with a victory and I'll have my favorite killer back!

Congratulations, my friend :) Who is next? I hope Freddy will get some love soon. I mean he is such an iconic killer. It would be a shame, if they completely ignore him. I'll support your fight for Freddy whenever I can!
Thank you, my friend! My next P100 will most likely be either Claudette or Knight.
And I sincerely appreciate the support! This struggle does not end until we get our killer back.

Thnaks, friend.
And yeah, I gotta say it is a hell of a grind. This event helped a lot, but it still took a while to finish it.
It is impressive that some players have several P100s. I wanna go for two more: Claudette and Knight.

Tbf you have stated that you enjoy facing m1 killers so its clear blight is something not to your taste, so thats just you being consistent.
I however am the opposite, I groan at the sight of a myers, ghostface, freddy, pig or any m1 killer, as for me they are the most boring thing in the game, they are easy to loop and their powers so basic you could neutralize acid with it.
But thats just prone to happen when dbd its such a big game and has so many characters and players, people are bound to like certain characters and hate other while other people might feel the opposite. Its just a normal thing.
Ah yes, of course. People will always have vastly different tastes in DBD, especially when it comes to killers and their powers.

WoO should be nerfed slightly to be fair, it's a crutch perk that makes survivors a fair bit better in chase than they otherwise would be without it. Even bad loopers can just run from pallet to pallet to window to pallet against many killers.
This.
I think it should just be reverted to its second version. There was never really a reason to buff it.
-
@KaTo1337 said it best, my friend.
Those are the main reasons why his kill rate is so high.
It is funny, isn't it? Out of all versions of Freddy this one we have right now is the weakest and easily the most boring. And yet, data makes it look like he is in a good spot.
-
Buff: Knight. It doesn't have to be a big change, just a few improvements. And Map of the Realm basekit, so we can at least use something else with him.
Nerf: Wesker. He isn't overpowered, but his horribly designed kit has a bit too much in it.
Rework: Freddy, of course. The very reason why I joined the Forums was to get my favorite killer back. And I'll never give up.
I have a full concept for him, if I may share it:
Power: Dream Demon
Pull survivors into the Dream World
-Survivors who are awake do not see The Nightmare.
-Once targeted by The Nightmare’s power, survivors enter the Dream Transition for 7 seconds.
-During the Dream Transition Survivors can see The Nightmare intermittently and they suffer from the Incapacitated status effect.
-When the Dream Transition Lapse, the Survivor is pulled into the Dream World.
Once in the Dream World:
-Survivor’s auras are revealed to The Nightmare when they are outside of his terror radius.
-Survivors suffer an action speed penalty of 40%.
-To exit the Dream World, Survivors can find non-sleeping Survivors to perform a wake up action.
-Failed Skill Checks can also wake up.
-Hooked Survivors wake up.
Special Ability: Dream Projection
-Teleport to a Generator in view. Releasing the button early will cancel the action.
-Survivors cannot interact with the targeted Generator.
“You have nothing to worry about. This won’t hurt one… little… bit.” -Freddy Krueger
-
-
Thankyou so much, my friend!
It is always good to see pictures from the golden days, but these two are quite special.
My favorite killer in the game. I miss him so much!

If you think the perk is weak against S tiers or something like that, that's okay. But to say that DS isn't a great perk is just wrong. It's so weird to me that some players seem to have this misconception and I wonder if that's what led to it being buffed in the first place. It's comfortably meta right now even with the 3 second stun. It had to get nerfed from 5 seconds, so it's odd to me that they opted to revert the stun time to 5 seconds instead of changing it to 4 first.
In my opinion, the way to buff DS (if it even needs a buff) is to make it give 10 or 15 seconds of endurance when it's used. It would barely change how it works against low tier killers, but would make it much stronger against S tiers.
Nah, it is pretty weak. 3 seconds doesn't give you nearly enough time, especially with the animation and the lack of resources some maps have.
Going back to 5 seconds is absolutely justified, imho.
-
That sounds fun!

”fight back” okay at this point just introduce pistols as an item and just shoot the killer because the initial idea from the devs were that the killers are threats and inflict fear in survivor to create a horror atmosphere.
I don't mean "fight back" in the literal sense of actually fighting against the killer. What I mean is that there must be a way for you to not be rendered helpless if the killer just wants you out of the game as soon as possible.
DS fills that role perfectly, or it did when it had a 5 seconds stun time.
-
I'll admit the change doesn't look fun to play against, but we still have to wait for the PTB before jumping to conclusions.

By my calculations, it's a 20% chance for you to end where you began if you use a map offering. Wishing you the best of luck in finishing strong!
Thanks friend!
It would be amazing if I could do that.
I fondly remember my very first DBD match in 2018: Azarov's Resting Place, of course. I was a baby Claudette, desperately running away from a Huntress. Good times.
-
Congrats, my fellow 2018 player!
I'm close to finishing the journey to P100 on Freddy, then I would like to go for it with Claudette and Knight. It is quite the ride, isn't it?
I love how you tried to end the P100 journey on the same map where you started. I was thinking of doing the same thing myself, but I would need a lot of luck to actually get Azarov's Resting Place.
-
Current DS definitely isn't a "great" perk. It barely gives you time to do anything before the killer can resume the chase, and if you combine that with the severe lack of resources some maps have then there is little you can actually do if the killer wants you out of the as soon as possible.
No one expects a complete immunity to the killer after being hooked, but it is reasonable to expect a way to fight back.
-
Overpowered no, just extremely frustrating to play against.
-
Nope, I think it would be an unnecessary nerf.

kinda like current DH except with no counterplay? ouch. If they were to add the dash back I feel like one of 2 thinks should be done
- Add a hinder effect post dash to balance the distance
or…
- Add kinda like a Doctor shock effect for like 2 seconds where you can vault or drop pallets, sweaty hands or something.
Again I am only saying this cause truth be told I miss the dash, but I understand it is unhealthy.
Add kinda like a Doctor shock effect for like 2 seconds where you can vault or drop pallets, sweaty hands or something.
IfI recall correctly, this was actually suggested a few times, back when everyone was asking for DH to get nerfed.

If some people think a bug was the only thing that made Blight fun then idk what to say that's hilarious.
So you're saying Blight is a boring killer then.
Well, my friend… they sure aren't wrong.

Well, they removed the dash because using Dead Hard for distance was a problem, as there was basically nothing killers could do if you used the perk that way.

Survivors aren't really held to the same standard/expectations though
To me, they are.
I expect people not to BM others, regardless of which role they like to play. Toxicity done without reason has no excuse, imho.
-
Almost all the time. There were a few instances where it didn't.
Being inside the killer's Terror Radius disabled the perk. Old Freddy was immune to it if the survivor wasn't asleep.

Playing the game with 3 perks as survivor is a LOT less of a serious thing than playing the game with 3 perks as killer. As surv you can still use any exhaustion perk which no matter what is very powerful by extending time in chase, some sort of faster healing for better efficiency and some jack of all trades slot for either anti-aura reading or OTR. Overall that's only like 7% of the survivor teams total perk power? Meanwhile killer is 25% total perk power but rightfully so having stronger effects.
It just should have never had the effect off hook and that's why you started to see "adren checks" because it was so obnoxious to play against. But we are not talking about killer perks this time. The only one that got hit was UW, and that one needed the nerf.
If you happen to be on the hook when the last gen gets done, Adrenaline won't do anything. It is a complete waste of a perk that, reasonably, has a powerful effect.

Its a bit disingenuous to think i'm trolling, or i'm "trying to get a thread closed"
This is just a civil discussion here, disagreements are allowed to exist.
To address the concern itself:
I mean, the data doesn't lie.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/405382/new-stats-feb-15th-2024
These stats are the "average player experience". So based on this. Do you think that:
- Skull merchant is the most overpowered killer in the game
- Sadako is the second best killer in the game
- Freddy is one of the best
- Pig is one of the best
- Nurse is one of the worst killers in the game
- SWF only escape 3% more often than solo players
Either you think all of those things are true at all levels, or you realize that this is looking at all games played (and thus heavily sampling what we call the "average" player)
Further, looking at that data, blight has a 59% kill rate. So, are we saying that the "average" blight needs a nerf?
There are basically 2 things that can be true and both are mutually exclusive. You either balance the game around top players, or you balance around average players.
If you balance around top players, you basically need to nerf nurse, blight, and then MASSIVELY BUFF every single other killer.
If you balance around average players, why are we nerfing blight?
I think that is the main point i'm making here.
the data doesn't lie.
But it doesn't tell you the full picture, either. Balancing the game around the average experience, which the vast majority of the community experiences, doesn't mean you are being guided by numbers alone.
You have to look at things individually, carefully analyze each and every thing in this game to see whether or not they require changes. Skull Merchant, for instance, only has the highest kill rate in the game because players tend to suicide on hook against her.
As a Freddy main, I could try and explain why his kill rate is high, but the fact will remain that he has been in need of a "dework", if I may put it that way, for over four years. Nurse ignores everything in the game, but her kill rate is a bit low because she takes time to master.
In order to balance the game, these things have to be taken into consideration. Without context, data is useless.

Its pretty fine. Adren off hook was stupid and having the sprint burst from adren ignore previous exhausted effects (which it kept after the changes) already made it super strong
I honestly don't have a problem with the healing after an unhook or the speed boost. It is a powerful effect, yes, but it happens only after all 5 gens are done and you've played the game with three perks.
It makes sense for it to be strong.

Probably one of the few things we can agree on, there is no mind gaming involve, no counterplay and the better a player is at utilizing it, the harder it is for the other side to do anything about it.
DBD is not like other games, there is a fine line when it comes to fair and unfair and if there is nothing the other side can do about it outside of just being lucky, then it isn't healthy for the game and should be changed regardless of how long it takes people to exploit it to it's full potential.
Probably one of the few things we can agree on, there is no mind gaming involve, no counterplay and the better a player is at utilizing it, the harder it is for the other side to do anything about it.
Precisely.
In Blight's case it is already surprising just how long it took for it to actually be fixed, considering it was never intended to begin with. Blight is already an extremely powerful killer, allowing him to get hits where he clearly shouldn't thanks to an exploit isn't fair and, as you've said, shouldn't be here.
-
The Adrenaline change went too far, it was too much.
Removing the wake up effect against Freddy is excellent, but everything else wasn't needed. I don't think it will kill the perk, but it isn't a healthy change either.
-
@Smoe said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3687186#Comment_3687186
Actually i can deny it, because regardless of how long it takes to master it, it's still exploiting something that was never intentional which allowed Blight players to get unfair hits that Survivors have little to no chance of dodging, meaning there's no mind gaming or counterplay involved to it depending on how good you were at doing it.
Genuinely could not be more happy that it's gone and i hope Wesker's techs are next.
Perhaps we can put our differences aside, to agree on this one. Because I certainly do agree.
It has always been nothing more than a bug. Understanding an exploit doesn't change the fact that it is an exploit, something that was never meant to be in the game. It is good they are removing it.
-
The perk definitely wasn't fine before, it was awful.
-

Yup, people on the forums have been asking for 5 second DS. Now that 5 second DS is coming, it's suddenly not good enough. I think there's just a group of players who primarily play survivor who will never be happy with any changes survivors get.
To be fair, there were many comments saying 5 seconds DS would not be enough. We all only agreed on the fact that it was a good start, but more has to be done against tunneling.

It is the only thing we'll be getting for Freddy in this update, but I'm glad this effect is gone.
It was never meant to be here in the first place. Another terrible mistake from patch 1.8.1, finally fixed.

I think the first two changes were not needed, but it is good that Adrenaline no longer wakes you up against Freddy.
It couldn't even be called an outdated design, it was something that was never supposed to be here. I'm glad the effect is gone.
