It is good that Adrenaline no longer wakes you up, a terrible mistake from Patch 1.8.1 is finally removed, but the rest of the changes for the perk are pretty bad. It didn't truly need a nerf.
-
Ah, that is a relief. A decent stun is better than nothing.
-
Wiggling isn't meant for you to actually escape the killer's grasp, it exists to prevent the killer from always taking you to the Basement or to a strategically powerful hook.

IMO the fact that exhaustion perks that help with looping have been nerfed (DH) or were never really viable (Smash Hit) has been a major contributing factor to people using exhaustion perks that help with prerunning or playing distance. I've started favoring Balanced, or SB for hit avoidance (rather than distance) recently and never really used DH, but undeniably the DH changes have made the prerun playstyle more prevalent.
The maps are also a factor.
In the past most tiles in the game had potential for mindgames. There was no real reason to just drop the pallet immediately and keep running, this would be seem as a waste of resources.
But now, most things are unsafe. The game basically encourages survivors to hold W and pre-drop everything.
-
Because it is made by a different team.
-
Yes, it is.
-
They aren't that bad, to be honest. The actual strength of some things in the game is often overestimated.
-
Same, my friend.
It was one of the best perks we had. I miss it so much!
-
Nope, there isn't much hatred directed towards Claudette anymore.
-
Well... I'm about to finish the journey with Freddy, then I want to do it with Claudette and Knight.
I have to spend my points somehow.

Prefer more like "Delete this character and both pretend she never existed."
That will never happen.
-
Oh absolutely! It was peak perk design.
The best we've ever had.
-
Nice!
Well done, friends!
-
To be fair, you can say the exact same thing about killers.

Idk i think devs will just heavy nerf her only real way to stop people from complaining
Nerfing her to stop the complaints seems a little excessive, to be honest. It has happened before, but I don't think they will make the same mistake again.

Don't worry, General. I still feel Freddy will get his day in the sun (or in the burning fires of a boiler room).
I sure hope so, my friend.
It has been over four years. I need my killer back.

We need a Freddy charm.
It would be cool, but with his license being the way it is I doubt we will ever get it.

she does have a 70% killrate albeit from all the people dying on first hook no doubt she will be nerfed just not till next year X_X
I doubt she will be nerfed. Changed? Perhaps. But not nerfed.
Skull Merchant isn't impossible to beat. Her kill rates are high just because of hook suicides.

Not experienced this much myself. I do note that often when a new killer is out that a number of players will give up, rather than get to learn it, claiming it's too OP and such.
He's not impossible to face. The ability for the goop to have a blast zone through walls can catch me out on occasion, but it's not far different to The Executioner's ability to send his power through walls. Granted, you get a brief, visual clue, but the ability to pass through things isn't that new - Nurse has been here for years!
Obviously, different people have varying opinions, but for me he's a fun killer to face, with a number of things to watch for, without being especially overwhelming.

A dangerous, disgusting thing, my friend.
It got Freddy nerfed a week after his release.
-
It is better to just play normally, as you would play any other killer.
I've had suicides on hook when playing Freddy, if you can believe that. It is impossible to control these things.

Agreed. I think the Devs are more than aware that she's a problem at this point. She'll receive a change but they've already slotted certain killers for updates and need to have the time and resources to do them properly.
Yeah, she will be left the way she is for a while. The next roadmap should be released after the anniversary event, if I am not mistaken, and then we'll get an answer.
-
"Playable" yes, but "fun" is an entirely different matter.
-
...We really need to move on from this topic.

I sure hope so!
The bird banner looks cool.

those definitely would screw killers over, true. i won't act like a death is worth possibly 2 really strong perks because it might not in some cases.
Depends on when that death happens, but yeah there would still be a risk.

Because original Tinkerer worked differently. It enhanced Add Ons which affect Chargetime. The name made a lot more sense back then. It got changed long ago, because a) it only affected some Killers, because a Killer which did not have Add Ons which worked with Tinkerer would be unaffected and b) it was a pain to balance, since the Devs had to balance Add Ons with Tinkerer in mind.
You can read about it here:
And fun fact: some add-ons had a note on their descriptions that read: "Affected by the Tinkerer perk".
It was mostly restricted to the older killers, but it is interesting how certain aspects of the game were built around this perk. Wish they hadn't reworked it, to be honest.

This attitude of "it is a killer perk" is completely misguided.
Let me ask you, do you TRULY believe, that the perk designers at behavior, sat around and said: "######### survivor players, let's make a survivor perk that is so bad that it actually is a killer perk, that'll show those losers"
Or is it more reasonable that because this is a brand new mechanic to the game, that they are being super conservative with it because they aren't fully sure how it is all going to work out?
The perk is likely going to get buffed at some point, and pretending its not, or pretending that BHVR is in some way intentionally doing this is disingenuous.

To be fair, @Aven_Fallen did not say that.
As it stands, Weaving Spiders is essentially a killer perk, because it hurts your team and actually helps the killer. Whether or not it will be buffed eventually remains to be seen, but this isn't what is being discussed here.
-
But what about hook suicides?
-
I hope they don't change Singularity too much.
He is extremely fun to go against, and I would hate if that weren't the case after they've tweaked his power.
-
They said it won't be extended, but honestly it should have been, even if only for a few days.
-
I hope it never changes.
As I've said on a different thread, I already lost all other realms I liked. Please, please let me keep one of them.
-
I am still hoping it never happens.
I already lost every other realm which I liked. Please let me keep one.

Damn, I have over a hundred of them on Freddy. I'll see them again next year, I suppose.

This won't end well...

It does appear that way sadly. Hoping that General V is right and eventually people get bored of hating her, like Legion.
Well, it is based on the only other experience we had. The hatred for Legion didn't dissipate immediately after his rework, but eventually people stopped DCing against them.
I hope the same happens to Skull Merchant.

Allow me for the first time to disagree with you my beloved. If I had played these same matches with other killers I'm sure I would have lost a few.
I really can't see myself winning these matches with my main, leatherface, Pinhead, xeno, chucky etc perkless. the only way this happened is because of some pretty questionable SM design that I and a few others believe.
I just don't see it, my dear friend. From my experience with Skull Merchant she doesn't have anything that wins the match for her, except for the hook suicides.
She has a power, which already makes her stronger than my main, but that power isn't impossible to fight. And outplaying the survivors can be done by every killer.
-
One of the worst and most annoying killers to go against, for sure.

You are not alone mate. Since there are many people who want old Freddy back, I won't give up hope 🙏 I mean, they freed Billy after years, why not Freddy too? :)
Never lose this hope, my friend :)

To be fair, my friend, this doesn't really prove anything. What you did here certainly can be done with other characters.

Honestly considering every time I attempt to play a full match against skull merchant they usually use super unfun tactics so there’s always a sour taste in my mouth it’s like people play her because she is the most hated killer
Wait until you play against me, my friend.
I'm a nice Skull Merchant, I promise!

It is an exaggeration to prove my point, I'll admit.
It's possible to beat anyone in Solo Q. SM is one of the least likely due to the coordination required to effectively counter her.
It does seem more and more that Killers are designed around SWF and Survivors communicating.
I think she is far easier to beat than killers like Cenobite or Xenomorph, to be honest.
-
Dropping your item, of course. A request for mercy that I'm always happy to accept.
-
I won't even bother with this challenge, to be honest.

@Pulsar said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3683719#Comment_3683719
She's both "oppressive" in chase and in macro.
She's a Killer that you pretty much need to SWF against in order to have the coordination to beat.
Her power forces people to play extremely good macro, which is very difficult, and also has no counterplay during the chase. If she puts up a drone at a loop, you HAVE to leave. You also have to prevent her from holding a 3-gen and also from holding dead parts of the map. You need to be aware of resources and plan accordingly.
She's designed to go against 5K hour comp players and lose, but autowin against anyone who dared to play outside of a competitively minded SWF
That... seems a bit extreme, my friend. It is not THAT difficult to escape from Skull Merchant in Solo Queue.
-
Two, as it has always been.
-
I think the only change Adrenaline needs is the removal of the wake up effect against Freddy. Anything else is overkill.

then you might not of been here for this. It was a dark time for killers and survivors alike It was roughly before the big meta shake up of 2022, so the time i'm referring to is roughly all of 2021 and the first half of 2022. Average que time for survivors was 5-15 minutes. The killer community was dropping faster then a lead ball dropped into the ocean
For all the crap the mate shake up of 2022 gets, it really did save this game.
If it was happening during the entirety of 2021 then I was here for it. The RE Chapter was released on June, if I recall correctly.
As for the meta shake up, if you are referring to patch 6.1.0 then I strongly disagree with that notion. It is a strong contender for one of the worst patches we've ever seen, imho.
-
@Seraphor said:
People asked to make it more chase oriented, they did.
In theory, not in practice.
Every SM still plonks their drones right next to a gen, and then immediately returns to that gen the moment their drone is deactivated.
To be fair, they did what could be done.
After the Freddy fiasco I don't think BHVR will drastically alter another killer's power again. Skull Merchant is fun to play as, and the aspects that made her an actual problem for the game are gone.
The hate train from her release is the only reason we are still seeing suicides on hook against her. Just like Legion, my friend.

Deep in my heart I wish this offering would be reactivated and give me one last chance to play the original Freddy :'( He was my first killer main. But since his rework, my fire of passion has unfortunately gone out. Maybe I'll give him another chance in future.
Hey, a Smoking Splinter!
I actually bought the ANOES Chapter together with the base game, so I've never seen one of those in-game. Nice!
And I definitely agree with ya, my friend. I do not blame anyone for not wanting to play Freddy after his rework ruined him.
But I have hope we will get our killer back eventually. After all, that is why I am here.

Weaving spiders vs ultimate weapon nurse lol
On Dead Dawg Saloon, no less.
This might be the worst experience you can possibly have as a survivor in current DBD.
