Wait, they said it is never coming back?
Oh, this isn't good. It was one of the best events we had.
-
Bloodshot Eye should give extra 100% BP
for completing event actions:)

Yeah the skins are cool, but I'm not buying them on the principle that they're sets so honestly this event is doing nothing for me.
Skull Merchant's isn't, thankfully.

Has someone had ransomeware installed on their PC thus far?
Seems to be exclusive to Apex, as far as we are aware. No word from BHVR yet, just EAC.

It's basically a bloodhunt with a very meh event wrapped around it. BHVR lied to us when saying it would be the best source of bp ever.
Honestly, they should have made another Blood Feast.
We haven't had one of those since 2017, and it would award more BPs.

I think just not running the event offering is better but that’s hard to coordinate in solo Q because you can’t ask teammates not to bring it if you’re in a mixed PC/Console lobby.
I’m also confused as to how this is the biggest BP grinding even when it doesn’t even touch the anniversary event.
This.
There is basically no reason to even use a Bloodshot Eye, but that is almost impossible to coordinate.
-
Another event I was hyped for, another slap to the face.
As if Freddy being excluded from Lights Out wasn't enough. Now, an event based around Bloodpoints doesn't give you half of what you can get during the anniversary. And the event offering cancelling other offerings?
Massive disappointment.
-
You can take advantage of the event. Huge BP bonus seems to make people less likely to DC, or at least they used to.
-
Wesker.
Horribly designed killer that I would be happy to never see again.
-
Good, one more reason for players to avoid Weaving Spiders at all costs.

I think Bubba is fine as he is, to be honest.

but there is also no way to change legion without keeping there spirit namely fast running, hit and run and spreading dmg states.
what most survs find unfun is the need to mend but there needs to e something like the mend to make the survs stop working gens or the hit and run does not work. maybe bhvr could think of any other thing a survivor needs to do after being hit but in the end its mend in another skin.
legion is loved by so many people and since i can only talk for myself i would be devasted if they completly rework them into something else and i would probably drop them if they end up with a stupid range or movemnt hit power like all the other killer bhvr does lately.
and lets not forget bhvr is not that great when it comes to reworking there killer ask the @GeneralV how good it worked with freddy
and lets not forget bhvr is not that great when it comes to reworking there killer ask the @GeneralV how good it worked with freddy
Don't remind me of this pain :(
It has been almost 5 years without my favorite killer. Perhaps it serves as a warning, when asking for things to be reworked.

Nothing is more attractive than horrors beyond our comprehension.
-
Hey, welcome to PC, my friend!
Hope you enjoy your stay around here.
-
Well, I've only started playing her recently, mostly because I was extremely tired of playing a killer who barely has a power.
And I was very surprised by how fun she is to play! I've always liked killers who are good at controlling the map, and Skull Merchant has a lot of potential with her radar and drone placements.
-
Don't see a lot of problems with Wraith, to be honest.
Wesker is the killer I hate most, even more than Ghostface who I've always disliked.
-
All they have to do is remove the wake up effect. Anything other than that is overkill.

Yeah. I mean, my build is basically from 2017, because the "latest" Perk released in my Build is from Bill (Borrowed Time). So my build features no Perks in the last 6 years... Simply because most are not worth running. The last Perk I considered (aside from MfT ofcourse) was Reassurance, the PTB-Version was decent and would have been an effective Tool against camping.
But, to be fair - I think it is harder to create good Survivor-Perks, because they need to be universally good. Killer Perks dont need to be universally good to be used, when at least some Killers can get use out of them.
E.g. Iron Maiden is not a good Perk, but can be good on Killers who have to interact with Lockers anyway. Or Rapid Brutality (the Perk which gives 5% Haste after a Hit, but disables Bloodlust) is not really strong, but a Killer like Clown can make use of it (and I have seen it being run on Clown).
Yeah. I mean, my build is basically from 2017
So is mine. Latest perk released in my build is Lithe.
Yes, I agree it is difficult to create good survivor perks. But surely we can have something better than Weaving Spiders.
-
The only reason why this perk isn't the worst perk in Dead by Daylight's history is because original Déjà Vu existed.
-
Just once, against a Plague on Wrecker's Yard. I've never seen a killer that dedicated to camping.
-
Because Trickster can create scenarios where, no matter what you do, you will go down.
If you get caught in the open you're dead, and if try to loop a structure with high walls he just catches up to you and you're dead.

This is 100% correct. The outcry about the Survivor-portion of this Chapter would be far higher if Sable would not look like she does. If it would have been someone like Haddie who gets those Perks (not that Haddies are that good either), there would be more complaints. But a bunch of people is happy to get a pretty Skin when playing Survivor and thats about it.
And to think there was a time when new Chapters had decent perks for survivors.

I kind of had to do it. The past two games where i had my claire in the lobby from the beginning i had killers brings “hex two can play” whatever its called and while its funny, i actually want to see how this build goes. I also had killers bring lightborn after this match too. Over 1flashlight
You can do it, of course, but should you? In the end it didn't matter much because the killer had Lightborn, but it is a form of BM, nonetheless.
I'll be honest, my friend, I have zero sympathy for last-second switching. As awful as it is to deal with tunneling, this time it was warranted.

Anyone wanna customs later? If by chance @GeneralV is interested, I'd love to see his Fred'ster!
Ha, to be honest I'm barely playing him recently. Been playing the Unknown and Skull Merchant.
I am a bit tired of simply not having a power.
-
As @BlightedDolphin said, it is true. OP on Twitter has forgotten about Nostromo, where the exact same thing happens.
Freddy's current power simply isn't worth using or even salvaging.
-
I've noticed some killers take offense to quick switching. Those who pay attention to the lobby, that is.
Doing it is usually a bad idea.
-
Peak perk design indeed.
(please don't use this perk I'm begging you).

Yes, but there are remedies outside of removing or changing skins. If they are so bold to say slurs then they can be ban. If they do that on a Steam profile then they can lose that account.
You could say, we are removing the tools. But are you? They are still able to play and tunnel every game. Only thing you changed was denying non-pieces of ######### the ability to enjoy their purchase.
Exactly.
No solution is better than removing those individuals from the playerbase. It is an effective solution which has no consequences for those who have done nothing wrong. As it should.
Thankfully, it seems the danger has passed. At least based on the VA's recent post. But I hope this thread remains relevant for a little while, for archiving purposes.

Well done for making such an important & well written post my friend,
Haven't been on the forum or game for a week, personal issues, but sad to come back to read stuff like this.
Not really much to add I agree with everything you said & hopefully this will turn into one of those mega post threads & the devs will take action quickly as well as actually banning these people we don't need or want in our game!
Thank you for the feedback, my dear friend!
It is good to see ya here, wish it was under better circumstances.
I'm happy you agree with what I said here, my friend. It seems the skins aren't going anywhere and BHVR is aware of the problem. Hopefully those people get banned as soon as possible.

I didn't realize it had gotten to this point (though I'm not too big on social media, especially twitter) that people were calling for a boycott. The devs have done nothing wrong. The VA not being in the know was likely because of them trying to contain the leaks, nothing nefarious.
Yes, I didn't have the full picture either. Until now, that is.
-
Alright, quick update:
Apparently it has been out for a few hours now, but the VA released a statement on Twitter about the situation.
https://twitter.com/Zoeyalexandria9/status/1768359653501452651Thanks @GoodBoyKaru for sharing it on a different thread.
And it looks like the skins aren't going away! Well, this is a relief.
I gotta say I was expecting the worst here.
-
@KateMain86 said:
So how do you discern the difference between genuine reports of this and those where killer players are reported out of spite? The only way you can as far as I know is if the killer basically admits to it when the match is over. This is problematic from all angles.
@Nazzzak said:
It's gotta be hard when it comes to reporting because they have to sift through all the reports on tunnelling, teabagging, camping, looping, etc, that waste their time just to get to cases like this. I can see why taking the tools away from bigots is the easiest option.
They can create a new report category, or have people look at those reports specifically. It is, of course, possible to filter reports, look for the ones which actually need to checked.
Obviously I don't have all the answers, but I just cannot accept good cosmetics being removed because of disgusting individuals, again. If there is any chance to avoid that, I have to try.

it was fantastic and when i first saw the unknown i really hoped they could revive that idea and give us diffrent skins representing the survivor but then reality crashed i and reminded me that this can never happen cause it would probably spawn the same argument again even so i think it would be diffrent this time
Honestly, same.
@OrangeBear said:

I mean, cosmetics are a form of expression. Devs can decide what cosmetics are available which dictates what expressions are available.
Problem with the unknown cosmetics is that it allows you to mix the cosmetics in a way to resemble a harmful stereotype. If they made the outfits sets then you couldn't do that anymore.
To be clear, i am not saying the outfits should be removed, i think that would be going too overboard and it would limit the character too much. Only that the head and body pieces of the current very rare and rare outfits of the unknown should be unbreakable.
The price is you wouldn't be able to mix those items anymore which i think is a small price to pay.
The benefit is that people wouldn't be able to use those cosmetics to cause harm anymore. It would save support resources. Cause the problem with these scenarios as well is you can't prove the people using those cosmetic combinations are trying to be transphobic. Especially when they try to do it implictly, and as well if they don't express that in the game themself, they can't ban based on things on other platforms.
So, that's why i think it would be an effective and least disruptive solution.
Cause the problem with these scenarios as well is you can't prove the people using those cosmetic combinations are trying to be transphobic.
And that proves my point.
What about the people who are just mixing and matching their cosmetics? Why should their experience be affected, even if only slightly, by the actions of awful individuals?
Transphobic individuals have no place here. They should be permanently banned immediately. No warnings, no second chances.
But we are talking about turning the cosmetics into sets. Which, as you know, are hated by the community. It is better than a full removal, but it isn't a good solution either.
-
@OrangeBear said:
It's just easier to remove the tools that toxic trolls use rather than waiting for them to use them before banning them. Because it doesn't stop them from using them and causing harm in the first place, it only stops them from doing it afterwards but only on that account it is used it on. They can just come back. And these types of people are never going away. It's more efficient for the support team as well who i think are already overloaded, it takes weeks sometimes for support to get back to you.
I think BHVR should just make those outfits sets. I think it's the most effective and least disruptive solution.
But they aren't simply tools, my friend. We're talking about cosmetics, excellent ones at that. They are not be blamed for the actions of awful individuals, nor should the entire community pay the price.
"Easier" doesn't mean it is the right thing to do. Those players need to go, not the cosmetics. This has always been the case.
@Xernoton said:
I really hope history doesn't repeat itself here. Not only would it be sad to see these cosmetics gone but it also wouldn't fix the issue anyway. The people that go out of their way to harass others will continue no matter if they can use certain skins for it.
Also, what happens next time something like this happens (which it will)? This issue is not going to go away by covering it up. Instead the individual people, that actually do act in this way should be banned immediately (with sufficient evidence, mind you).
Well said, my friend. I agree completely.
-
@OneGoodBoyDemo said:
I totally agree. I really feel sorry for the people who worked hard to get these masks. Bubba players needed to play at least 80 games to get all the masks and even then you had to wait for at least 1 of these survivors to be in the lobby to get It.
It's a shame it was removed by such a small portion of the bad people in this game.
@katoptris said:
I missed those cosmetics of Leatherface dearly. I was even hoping for more faces to wear whenever a new survivor comes out.
I had 3 of them: Leaderface, Athleteface and Smartface. Never had the chance to get Survivorface because they removed them during my attempts and no one plays Jake.
Still, it was such a cool idea for an unlockable cosmetic!

First, I agree with you and they should not be removed.
But, to make things right would to bring back the cosmetics wrongfully removed and punish the individuals that harass others instead. Either they reverse what happened last time or be consistent and remove the offending cosmetics.
Being inconsistent in treating the same issue is in my opinion a worse outcome.
Breaking a consistency that should never have been is better than making the same mistake again, imho.
But the important thing is that they shouldn't be removed.
-
@Mr_K said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3675646#Comment_3675646
It's not my choice. It's the bed BHVR made.
Making the same mistake twice just makes the situation worse.
There is no excuse for racism or transphobia, but the cosmetics are not to blame. People choose to be awful, and BHVR should deal with them, not remove the cosmetic.
They should make it right this time.
-
@Mr_K said:
We have precedent for this, the outfits should be removed and refunded. Just like Leatherface faces, if a cosmetic is being used as harassment it must be removed.
It is never the correct choice, my friend.
The cosmetics must stay.

Trust me, what I said wasn't some desire or belief of what should happen, but it is a potential response that BHVR might consider.
Not saying they will do, but as a playerbase we'd need to report every single transphobic case and eliminate them from the game before BHVR are forced to consider those options.
It would be horrible if something bad were to happen because of some insignificant, backward cavemen.
I agree completely, my friend.
This time they should handle the situation properly: leave the cosmetics alone and ban every transphobic player. Not even a warning, but an immediate removal from the playerbase.
-
