She didn’t have enough distance. She would have been hit if she didn’t play the pallet.
But the same thing goes for every other killer. It isn't exclusive to SM.

Its not about the actual hit, but how punishing it is that the killer pressed one button.
The Huntress has to aim, the Doctor has to time his shocks and Freddy... well lets be real, our Man himself does not get anything. His snares are so weak, the survivor would have gotton away, so.. no hit immidiately.
Nobody is saying killer should not have a strong power, and hits come with that power. But what kind of power is that please that it can hit a survivor just by sitting there? The trapper at least has to set those up and those can be disarmed. And no, disarming drones is not the same as disarming Traps since they dont have Iri Stone basekit.
Damn, i just realised DEVS might read this and instead of changing SM, they give Trapper Iri basekit. Good job myself.
Counterpoint:
When the Meg reached that pallet, she had already been scanned. And yet the player chose to play around an extremely unsafe tile and didn't take the Skull Merchant's power into consideration.
That resulted in a hit, as it should.
-
To be fair, this clip isn't exactly proof of anything.
Doctor, Artist, Huntress, even Freddy could have gotten that hit simply by using their power. This only caused a certain outrage, if I may put it that way, because the Skull Merchant's hate train hasn't dissipated yet.
This Meg attempted to loop an extremely unsafe pallet and she got hit as a result. This is natural, it is part of the game.

I dont think Sadako will get any changes soon. Its clear, that condemned is now in a good spot. Its as muc part of her kit as the traps are of the pigs.
Sorry to disappoint.
But i have to be honest, im kinda tired of getting too invested into DBD. It only results in disappointment most of the time. Sometimes its just best to suggest but accept how things are.
Best we can offer here is logical suggestions. Implementing them is NOT up to us and thats sometimes a good thing and sometimes a bad thing.
We all have that character that we just want to see succeed. May that be Sadako and Amanda for me or Freddy for @GeneralV. We have no right to force changes in any way or form.
BUT we can try.
We'll both succeed in the end, my friend. I have hope we will :)

I also hope Mandy answers me one day in my Sadako posts. You are lucky. I‘m still with a killer, who has no power against people, who know the counterplay and I‘m not talking about condemned. Her teleport is constantly disabled, because the condemned counter is tied to her teleport. I can only hope.
I‘m still with a killer, who has no power
It feels awful, doesn't it?

Please don't use it.
Ever.

I wish Plagues mori...instead of vomiting on them turned it into a kiss of death thing where she inserts the vomit mouth to mouth.
Reminds me of that one moment from Mortal Kombat X.
Excellent idea.

I've never heard of anyone who didn't like going against Freddy. He is one of the weakest killers and people usually like to go against weak killers.
If he gets a decent buff as Billy and he will be good at chase, then yes, we will see a wave of hate, as always.
Believe it or not, Freddy is a bit disliked among survivors. I'd say it is because of how boring his power is, even if he is weak.
But this will change eventually.

I dislike going against Freddy because his current design is so unimaginative. I like that he can teleport to gens. I like that he can fake the teleportation as well. I love the blood gushing animation of the teleport as well. Visually, he looks good. But his M2 abilities are lackluster and I dislike the dreamworld only because it bothers my eyes.
I feel like he needs to do more while survivors are in the dreamworld. Like, preset traps on walls that have arms pop out and grab onto survivors if they get too close. He’s the master of dreams, they need to get more creative.
As he is now, any decent survivor can waste a lot of his time. Heck, with Lithe and WoO, I can waste enough time for a gen to pop and I’m terrible at looping.
It is a sad situation, my friend. He will always be my favorite, but I definitely understand why many players don't like him.
-
Many seem to dislike going against Freddy, but he will always be my favorite killer, regardless if I am playing as or against him.
And I'll go as far as to answer Skull Merchant. I have fun against her when my teammates don't leave me alone.
-
Still cannot understand why most of those changes were made.
WGLF and BBQ definitely should have their BP gains back. Iron Will was fine as it was, it didn't need a nerf. And Ruin... well, there is a lot to impact with Ruin.
It is hard to find a recent perk change that was actually good or healthy for the game. They do exist, but there aren't many of them.
-
As @mikewelk said, you can either crouch or stand still to avoid detection by the drones. You don't get detected while doing a gen, but if you let go then there is a risk.
In chase, she is not unlike Artist. If she places a drone in the area you'rte currently looping her, you have to leave. Otherwise you will get hit. Drones cannot put you in the dying state, but they can damage you.
I've noticed the more experienced Skull Merchants (judging by prestige level) will try to place their drones in strategic locations, so it is best to pay attention to where they are.
-
Freddy, especially in the past.
If you were awake you could witness a survivor being murdered by an unseen force, piercing through their heart.
And if you were asleep, well:

I agree. Mikaela is far, far worse than Claudette. Shes probably the worst survivor of all!
Claudette is the best and anyone who says otherwise is a liar and is just jealous of her supremacy!

I felt so bad for everyone who loves playing as Freddy.
It wasn't good, my friend :(
I was so excited for that event...
But I played Knight and I admit I had fun.
-
I didn't notice the build, so I was about to ask ya about the map, as I've started playing Skull Merchant recently. But I don't have Deadlock unlocked, so it can't have been me.
-
I'm grateful for what the game was. DBD used to be one of the best games I've ever played, and I will always remember those good old days fondly.
-
Congrats, my dear friend!
I'll catch up as soon as I can.

Daily reminder BHVR changed this offering icon but to this day have not changed the perk 'Hangman's Trick' despite that perk being even worse with it's icon due to it literally being somebody tying a noose
The perk was even updated semi-recently so, it just goes to show if you ask me
Probably because Hangman's Trick comes from the Saw franchise, which often talks about (or has a very clear sub-text) death and self-harm.
-
Thank you so much, my friend!
I appreciate the support :)

I think the Unknown was a bit of disappointment, and didn't really live up to expectations. There was a lot of potential there and I think it was wasted.

I'm with you, although I think buffing DS is not enough. We are talking about a licensed perk after all. So basically new players would need to buy the Halloween dlc and unlock DS quickly or they're thrown to the wolves.
The base kit BT effect could use some work (no collision with the killer) so that OTR becomes a better option too and it might be necessary to add further base kit mechanics like a 3 seconds DS.
But most of the meta is locked behind a DLC paywall. It isn't ideal, but this is how the game works.
Everyone is thrown to the wolves, but the wolves will always have to think about a potential stun. As you've said, it doesn't completely fixes things, but I think it will help.
At least it should put an end to the sheer wave of tunneling we're currently seeing.
-
@Shroompy said:
Even then, saying youre High MMR still has as much credibility as saying you were Rank 1 back in the day.
At least you could prove you were a Rank 1.
-
This setup doesn't mean much if the survivors don't know how to loop it or if they give up immediately, which seems to have been the case here.
And besides, this is Sanctum of Wrath. That setup is probably the only good structure in the entire map.
-
The killer role itself isn't in a bad spot right now, my complaints are mostly about Freddy's current state.
I've had a long streak of absolutely miserable games with him recently, haven't killed more than a single survivor. It was incredibly frustrating.
Then I played a game as Skull Merchant and it felt so, so good to play a killer who actually has a power.
It is hard to be a Freddy main these days.
-
Yes, tunneling is a bit out of control.
Without DS as punishment or BBQ as an incentive to not tunnel, there isn't much that can be done if the killer decides they want you out of the game ASAP.
The upcoming DS changes have to be a good buff, because it is the best chance to fix this problem, and the only thing survivors will be getting for a little while.

I love this! 😍 @GeneralV what are your thoughts my friend?
I may have one disagreement or two, but overall I'd say it is a good concept.
Anything that prioritizes Old Freddy's mechanics over the reworked ones is already a win in my book.
-
Wesker 34 times?
Jeez, seeing him once is enough to give me the urge to DC.
That must have been awful.
-
I would support it, as long as Freddy was made available.
That sure felt like a slap to the face after being hyped for Lights Out.
-
This would be a nerf to her, and a harsh one at that, something she definitely does not need.
Skull Merchant isn't nearly as powerful as the top tier killers in the game.
-
Taking a break actually helps a lot.

Survivor-Bloodwebs are just overblown with junk. You have 60 different Items in the Survivor-Bloodweb and it never got cleaned up after all the Nerfs to them.
This makes getting specific things harder, mainly when it comes to yellow Add Ons. They are all quite rare, not only the Low-Amp Filaments.
Haven't seen a Glass Bead in ages, and that is one of my favorite add-ons in the game!

I enjoyed her character in the show but Dbd players made me hate her in-game with a passion.
Anyways, I like Claudette just as my buddy @GeneralV does💜. She’s simply the best and needs her own Freddy cosmetic with a home made Freddy cardboard mask and butter knife glove so I can feel the general is with me in game.
Favorite female killer, it’s gotta be Tiffany. Shes so cute and I love her actress. She did such a great job in the movie and with her voice lines in game.
Oh, I loved this idea <3
I imagined her with Freddy's sweater. That would be amazing!
And if you ever want to play together, feel free to invite me! We'll see how many killers we can hide from :)
-
Yes.
This perk can create scenarios where it is literally impossible for you as a killer to reach a hook, and I doubt this is even intended.

Also - My nancy is P48! I’d love to duo with your Jonathan! That would be different than the usual Steve’s. 😍
(if you’d like. I’m pretty good at survivor and low maintenance 🤣)
I’m pretty good at survivor
I can confirm that. Ya saved me a lot on our trials, my friend :)
-
The way I see it, Freddy doesn't have a lot of synergy with maps anymore. It mostly boils down to your skill with him and the survivors you're going against.
But in the past, I believe Léry's was his best map, and Blood Lodge his worst.
This is because of his aura-reveal when survivors were outside his Terror Radius. This aspect of his power was always useful, regardless of where you were, but on indoor maps like Léry's there were better opportunities for surprise attacks and sneaking up on survivors, especially if you had a reduced Terror Radius.
On Blood Lodge you'd still benefit from the tracking, but it was way harder to catch someone off-guard on that map. And it was called Pallet Town for a reason, so you would have to go through a good amount of pallets before being able to down the survivor.

The worst thing about this is the poor excuse BHVR made when they reworked him, they said that the old Freddy were unintuitive or very opressive against newbie survivors, like he were the only noob stomper killer in the game before being reworked, there are more noob stomper killers aside the old Freddy and new ones released after that. They removed his uniqueness, I stopped played him after the rework and before it he was in my top 3 most played killers. Also, i've heard that the main responsible of his rework no longer works in BHVR and he recogniced that the rework was bad.
Easily one of the worst changes ever made to this game. Even after years it is still baffling that rework was approved and was actually implemented.
What a devastating way to kill a character. But I have hope, my friend, that things will change for the better.
-
Claudette is my favorite survivor in the game <3
As for killers, I really like Huntress, Hag, Pig and Skull Merchant, despite the massive complaints she gets.

I think he's a General, iirc.
The real issue, I think, is that she's just campy (in more ways than one lmao). If you take it like that, then yeah, I could see how it's fine. She's goofy, she's a little silly and maybe that's alright for some people. Like Army of Darkness-lite. Still horror but just silly horror.
I think he's a General, iirc.
You called?
:)
-
Iconic.
-
But that is the whole point of the Basement. A dangerous place.
You are not supposed to have an easy time escaping it.
As a survivor it is important to know where the Basement is and try to avoid it. Especially if you're playing against Trapper, Hag or Leatherface.
-
Nope. Horribly designed power.
-
When Legion got their rework, many players still DCed against them and hated the killer, even if they no longer caused an actual problem for the game.
Skull Merchant is no different. We're still in the "post-rework" phase where these things happen, but I think it will dissipate eventually. It just takes time.
-
The only change they should do to Adrenaline is remove the wake up effect. Anything other than that is just unnecessary.
-
Iconic indeed:

I don't mind Knight, SM and Singularity, to be honest. But I would be happy to never see Xeno again.

But without something concrete to point to, what kind of changes would you even make?
The only thing you could do is gut her to the point where nobody wants to use her and she's only slightly more than an M1 killer, which wouldn't be ideal for anyone.
There needs to be a clear, accurate consensus on what the problem is before anyone could expect the devs to act on it. Most feedback we see is either unclear, inaccurate, or both.
But you have a great concept for her, why not propose it again?
Maybe the feedback would provide some insight. It did happen with Freddy, ever since his horrible work.

There aren't many P100 Freddies around, but I'll be happy to be one of them :)
