Not gonna lie; if you told me that was the Pig and she finally decided to join the survivors after after being head-on-ed, I would have believed you.
This is nightmare fuel.
Haha, it is good to remember our beloved Goblin Quentin.
Funnily enough this screenshot was taken because of a thread here, asking us to post a "selfie" of our characters. I don't mean to brag, but I think mine was the best one :)
-
Those who drop their items, of course.
-
Anyways, what do you think are some of DBD's peaks?
2019 DBD before Freddy's rework was THE PEAK.
-
I don't understand the correlation between the new killer and this problem.
Awful things are done by awful people, regardless of what the game has to offer. BHVR needs to ban those players as soon as possible, that is what has to be done.

God, this image still haunts my dreams.
BOO!

The skins are perfectly fine as they are.

Congrats, friend!
There are interesting perspectives here on each Adept. I haven't done all of them yet, but the worst in my experience was Blight.
I got it before the changes on Léry's, something I have no explanation for, but it was painful. Very much so.

That Coldwind game 🤣 a tale in 3 pictures
That Coldwind game is so painful! That is the SoloQ's new reality, at least for a few more days.

Unknown is pretty fun to go against, I agree!

Not surprised 😩 I feel like it's a bit of a catch 22 with that perk. I havent had anyone use it in my games yet, but if I saw someone down there I'd be warring with myself over 'do I just ignore it and let them waste 2 minutes, or do I hurry over and help so that they're back in the game faster?'
I think it is better to just ignore them. Doing gens instead of the invocation is better in the long run.

Yep! But this one is quite special because of how long it takes. And how useless it is.
Three teammates with Self-Care are better than this.

I misread what GeneralV was saying. He was talking about 3 survivors joining in on the invocation in general. Whether they had the perk or not doesn't really matter, they all sat in the basement while he was slugged.
they all sat in the basement while he was slugged.
And hooked, might I add, my friend.
None of them left that basement until the Invocation was done, but then it was already too late.
-
@humanbeing1704 said:
yeah…. This perk is still not good

I agree completely.
Even if you have a whole build around it, it causes far more harm than good to your team.

Yeah I can see that lol tbf to them, you haven't been down very long. Hopefully someone came and picked you up?
Nope, straight to the hook.
Needless to say, I did not escape that match. No one did :(

Haha, only wish they had, my friend.
That is actually the Unknown speaking. But it is fitting for the situation, I'd say.

I mean, they can still buff certain aspects of him if they think he underperforms.
Having a fun power and build from this is better than having a strong power and trying to make it fun for both sides.
I agree completely, my friend.
Though it seems fine in terms of strength. At least for now, while people still don't know how to play against it.
-

Oh, that's The Unknown's voice? I thought it was her asking for help. I haven't played yet.
I'll be trying for Sable's adept when I can play again but TBH not sure if I will even try the perks.
Yep, that is the Unknown speaking. Fitting, isn't it?
And I gotta say, this Adept is difficult to do. You're essentially playing perkless if the basement never comes into play.

none really? Well i been running it on pig and boy the amount people running to the basement is scary.
Yeah survivors are starving for anything new to do but gens. I don't necessarily blame them for throwing the game by sitting in basement.
Well, I've played against many people trying to get Adept Unknown, some random Legions here and there, but no Territorial user yet.
I guess the perk isn't threatening enough to warrant a hard counter. But yeah, I can understand players want to test the new mechanic.
But please remember the one survivor left to deal with the killer :(

@solarjin1 said:
It was quite obvious that was going to happen for at least the first couple of days. I'm not gonna even try to go into solo q for a good week. Let the territorial imperative and invocation shenanigans die down.
Funnily enough I've yet to see Territorial Imperative. And I expected to see a teammate waste their time with the Invocation, but all three?
Thats a little overkill.

New perk so a lot of peopme are trying it. Ive found though its far better to just have one person do it. Yes, it takes 2 minutes, but it allows the other 3 to still work on gens or distract the Killer. Unless everyone has the Invocation, better to just stay out of the basement
Yeah. The Unknown's voice line in the picture perfectly expresses my feelings.

It is certainly better than the PTB. I think Pig and Huntress shouldn't have been changed, but at least some of the feedback was taken into consideration.

Yeah i get that point. Like i've never DCed on principal against a killer (Old spirit was a close one though ngl) as i think doing so kinda dumb when you are queuing into the game knowing you can face any killer. Might as well just play it out for your teammates
People seem to wwant skull merchant to be the 'hated by everyone' killer so they have a punching bag tbh. Absolutely fair in her old form but now i don't get it
I agree completely.
-
@Phasmamain said:

Yeah there's many clips of SM getting injuries in strong loops pretty much for free (Which again other killers can do) but having the RPD clip take over discussion is hilarious since it's literally means nothing when every single other killer can get a free hit there
Like i totally understand not liking her power but surely if they hate SM knight and artist should be DC worthy too since they are essentially the same gameplay loop with even stronger antiloop
I still think it was all because of the hate train around Skull Merchant. If that RPD clip had any other killer it wouldn't have caused such outrage.
I understand not liking her power, but I dislike when people DC only because they dislike the killer. I think Wesker's power is horribly designed, but it isn't fair for me to abandon my teammates. It is not their fault I don't like the killer.
-
Hello, my dear friend! Always good to see ya here :)
I still think the RPD clip isn't really proof of anything. As you've said, any killer could have gotten an easy hit there. The recent thread about it had this same discussion, but it got out of control.
I've been playing a lot of Skull Merchant myself and I've played against survivors who knew what to do against her. Vastly different than playing against people who give up immediately, of course.

No one will ever replace him, my friend. It is impossible.
Besides, Skull Merchant would have a better chance than the Unknown.
-
I wasn't going to at first, but I've changed my mind.
I wanna see what this new killer has to offer in the live servers.
-
Skull Merchant.
I wasn't here for her original release, actually. A very good friend of mine gifted me the DLC, but when I came back to the game her rework had already happened but the hatred hadn't disappeared. It still hasn't, of course.
I've only started playing her recently, because playing a killer with no power was getting increasingly frustrating.
Many players don't like her, and there aren't many Skull Merchant mains around, but I was really surprised when I first played her. She is really, really fun.

Really, it's kind of hard to say, if that is even such a good idea for a system. As @Blueberry explained there are some issues, if it is based on activity. I mean, try to make a hundred posts and never upset anyone. That's pretty hard. It's all too easy to be baited into something and say things that are less than friendly.
Well, unless of course you are a cold, unfeeling and calculating machine. @TheSingularity is not bound by emotion, so we can trust it to always act on personal gain. That's the purest form of honesty.

I've been playing since 2018, so I'm used to killers who can be looped in the regular manner, but also have a power to work with.

Was actually recently practicing against this killer with comp players and all agree that there is little real counterplay against her in chase, besides the actual unique pathing. Regardless of that, a good Artist will know how to deal with this, will force survivor sooner or later (rather sooner) in a loose loose situation and gets the hit. There are so many issues with this killer but the main ones are her addons Thick Tar and Baby Shoes for obvious reasons and that animations cancel repelling the crows.
We wont see much complain, since she is a very rare killer to find. Still, the issues are there but for now, i believe she is low priority.
This. Not much to add here, my friend, I agree completely.
Ranged killers are tricky to create and balance. Huntress and Deathslinger are good, in my opinion, but Artist and Trickster... not a single drop of fun.

You're describing everyone's opinion if they don't like Skull Merchant as a simple hate train. You've done it on basically most discussions, stating that with time it'll be fine. You have complete disregard for people's opinions and think it's just a trend of some sort. Sure, some might be on a hate train of some sort, but it's not everyone as you describe it to be.
You didn't watch the video. You said that going to an extremely unsafe pallet caused her to get hit, these are both false assumptions based on the thumbnail because it wasn't the tile that got her injured, nor was she hit - the drone got her. She actually pallet stunned the killer so any discussion regarding the unsafe tile causing the drone to get her doesn't really work.
I only have 42 comments talking about Skull Merchant, 43 after this one is posted. None of them ever dismisses someone else's opinion as a hate train, nor have I ever accused anyone of being part of said train.
Same as you, I acknowledge that it does exist. And I do believe it will dissipate with time, because this is being based on the experience we've had with Legion, but the proper feedback will remain. There are no dismissals on my comments, there never have been.
You didn't watch the video.
If there are any dismissals in this discussion, here it is. I can record my screen with the video playing in its entirety if you want me to.
The fact that the tile is unsafe matters because it means different killers could have gotten a hit there. The Skull Merchant eats the stun, but the drone gets Meg. A Huntress, for instance, could have respected the pallet and get Meg while she was locked in the animation. Deathslinger would have just shot her at the spot.
Meg had already been scanned twice, and we don't know how those scans happened.
That doesn't mean the killer is perfectly fine as she is, or that she has no need for changes, I just think this video in particular has other aspects that need to be taken into consideration when used as an argument.

My point exactly, why is there so many perks on both sides that incentivize not tunneling. Tunneling is my God given birth right. When will there be perks that promotes and rewards tunneling to balance things out?
When will there be perks that promotes and rewards tunneling to balance things out?
There was:
But Dying Light here was changed because tunneling should not be encouraged, as it is unfun for both sides involved.
In the current state of the game, tunneling is out of control. It is extremely important for DS to get buffed, so we can at least put an end to the tunneling wave. It won't fix the problem entirely, but it will help.
-
Yeah, this map isn't really fair for killers. With Skull Merchant there are some areas you can deny, but it won't be a walk in the park.

No need for the "hate train" comments either, people's opinions are worth more than that. I mean how do I tell you kindly to watch a clip instead of assuming everything based off of a literal thumbnail whilst you're just blindly defending Skull Merchant?
But I have not used it to dismiss your post, or anyone else's posts on this thread.
It is a fact that a "hate train" against Skull Merchant exists, because of her problematic release. The same thing happened with Legion years ago. And because of that, a scenario where multiple killers would have gotten a hit gets far more attention, simply because the killer is Skull Merchant.
The assumption that I haven't even watched the video is also wrong. I watched it then gave my opinion about it. It is the whole point of this thread, is it not? I am just participating in the discussion you've proposed, so I don't think a harsh response was warranted.
-
@mikewelk said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3671569#Comment_3671569
She didn't get injured by the fact she went to an extremely unsafe pallet, nor did she get hit as a result. Watch the video instead of looking at the thumbnail please and then talk about the clip. This "hate train" isn't going to dissapear because it's not a hate train, very simple thing to understand here.
No need for the harsh response, mate.
But either way, the video shows a play made around a dangerous pallet. If the killer was Huntress or Deathslinger, the outcome would most likely be the same.
Getting a hit on that scenario isn't something that only Skull Merchant can do.
